The positives: The atmosphere here is always amazing. It's like going home every time you walk into the door. The staff is always friendly and food is amazing. If you love large portions and hot yummy food I highly recommend it if you have time. The only issue I have here is this place NEEDS a proper staff. I really do like the folks they run the joint. But the service is inconsistent at best from visit to visit and even on a slow day with an empty dining space it can take a while to get served. Knowing that we went in today not expecting much more than large tasty portions. We took the whole family as a good bye brunch as my oldest his partner who we're visiting with my grandson. Im not sure what happened today but the single little old lady who runs the front was all over the place. She was polite and professional but you could tell she was overwhelmed. It took quite a while to get menus and waters then quite a while longer than that to get to order. She took the order and then we waited. And waited and waited. As we waited the littles started to devolve. And then, we waited some more. From the moment we sat down to the time food arrived was about an hour and a half. By then the kids were done. My wife was done and I was done. The food was hot. Some under cooked and my meal was missing the main component. That mouth watering and coma inducing pastrami. All said and done it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. No one was happy when we left. And that's a huge bummer. The food here is too good for the experience to be so bad. There were apologies and eventually the owner came out and compensated the entire meal. But that's not a good business model. Will I go back? Absolutely. They could cuss me out and I'd go buy the pastrami even if it fell on the floor. It's that good. But I probably won't ever go back with the kids. They don't have the stamina for it and we really have enough time to truly enjoy it as we would like to. read more

First, I sat down anywhere I wanted to. The waitress came very quickly and was very nice. Then we ordered and she told us we could look around some more in the place, and it had homemade soaps , soda, body wash/lotion, tea, coffee, clocks, freezer food and ice cream, and so much more! There is also a little stand with sweets they are so yummy! The food was amazing and the place was pretty big for a lunch spot. When you drive up it is an unassuming building, but it is nice on the inside and is very inviting. They have tables to eat at and a bar. I had the roast beef sandwich special and my wife had the corn beef sandwich. Both were very good and are recommended. The waiters was very nice and she happened to be the owners daughter. Heck yeah!! GO HERE. Where has this been. Finally business owners raising the bar coming to the area. OAK for dinner, Craft-Eats for breakfast and lunch. The owner must be a fantastic cook and foodie. The location is kind of odd, and jammed into a weird area. It unassuming, but do not let that fool you. Also, don't come here expecting highly processed, cheap lunch meat. This is whole foods, real meat and fresh from the farm ingredients. We ordered the Ari and the Barry, and split them. The roasted beef was fresh, actual roasted high grade beef directly from Nell's Butcher. The turkey was fresh roasted, perfectly seasoned by itself and crumbled and melted in your mouth. The sandwich combo with blueberry jam was fantastic. We also tried their specialty hash and it was amazing. The corned beef was caramelized, richly flavored and crumbled apart. Beautiful!!! All the ingredients are locally sourced, including fresh baked breads and amish ice cream. I implore everyone to patronize this business, we must support people raising the bar. Of course the one time I want to order here they are out of what I came for. I consider their menu limited. At least for my taste buds. Generally it's all sandwiches. They have a grab and go. But unfortunately it's different than their in house menu. They do offer soups that are homemade. Plus all of the sides are homemade. They offer a wide variety of different flavors of beverages. The staff are very kind and when I came in it felt very local and folksy, with people casually hanging out and eating amongst themselves. There was trivia which me and my friends played while waiting for food. I had the Pancake Platter which came with three pancakes, two eggs, and two pieces of bacon. I decided to go for the blueberry pancakes, and they were truly extraordinary in flavor. They could've been a little bigger, but they were really really flavorful and the blueberries were fresh blueberries not out of a can or frozen. Could have used a little more syrup than the 2 oz provided. Eggs were cooked perfectly (over medium) so that's an improvement from last time. With significant prodding from the staff, I also purchased a loaf of banana bread, some of which I will have for breakfast tomorrow. As a small business/restaurant, they're definitely improving so give them a chance. I think you'll really like it. PS: I didn't give them 5 Stars because little things always become problems later. They don't sell Pepsi or Coke products but encourage customers to buy these very expensive Reading Soda or Tractor beverages??? that I'm not familiar with and I just can't justify spend $3.25 for a bottle of something to drink that I don't know what it taste like. I also took off points because the men's bathroom smelled like five guys had been taking a smoke break in the bathroom for over an hour. I can't say enough about this little shop that packs a big punch! Located in the markets in Hanover, I was searching for a warm sandwich for lunch. I came across Craft-Eats and was asked if I wanted to try a sample of their corned beef. I couldn't resist because the smell from the kitchen was amazing. The corned beef was SO good but I wasn't feeling it for lunch so I opted for the hot turkey sandwich with cheddar on apple walnut bread. This sandwich was just perfect-- warm, hearty, a little salty and a little sweet. It was just what I needed for lunch! It came with a few bread and butter pickles on the side. It was such a big portion that I had to take half of it to go. While I was waiting for my sandwich I had a chance to speak with the owners who were so lovely and from Long Island which was a nice surprise! One of the owners even gave my little one a treat which was so nice of her. Their story is a great one and their food is even better. I highly recommend stopping by to pick up either a sandwich or one of their amazing family meals if you're near Hanover-- you will be pleased! read more

I was in Hanover for business. I stopped by Craft-Eats for lunch. In discussion with the waitress, she suggested that the soup and sandwich were both a good value and responsive to my questions regarding food. I had the chicken and rice soup. It is delicious and unexpectedly different. The base seems to be a thinned chicken gravy. The color was brownish. The sandwich, also delicious, was their version of a Reuben. Often the Russian dressing makes the sandwich 'sweet", which is why I rarely order it. If I return to Hanover, I will return to Ctaft-Eats. read more
