    My cousin who lived in Federick took me to Silver Diner for breakfast. I instantly liked the vibe as I walked in. Our server Colleen was very friendly, she brought the drawing set and kids menu to my kids right away. I ordered the Classic Egg Benedict and it was very good. I also tried a few bites of the scrambled eggs from my daughter's plate, the eggs were cooked perfectly--buttery and delicious. There was a mini jukebox at our table and it was a fun little entertainment for the group. I had a very pleasant experience and I'll definitely come back.

    Silver Diner was quite busy for a Monday morning, but the experience was still enjoyable. Mallory was my waitress, and she was pleasant, cheerful, and very helpful--truly a perfect way to start the day. I began with a refreshing glass of Pure Green juice made with kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, zucchini, romaine, apple, lemon, and ginger. For my meal, I chose the California Omelet with egg whites, chicken, tomato, Jack cheddar, scallions, Baja black bean salsa, cilantro sour cream, and whole wheat toast. The omelet was excellent--you couldn't even tell it was made with egg whites. Every bite was delicious. Overall, it was a great start to the morning.

    Wow, I know sometimes your meal doesn't come out well, but this morning was the worst. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs. For some time now I have not liked the scrambled eggs at this place. They cook them too fast on a hot grill and they come out hard and basically flat. And like usual they were mostly cold. I have made repeated comments to this restaurant that they can and should do better. The biscuit was not fresh and too hard to even cut much less eat. The country fried steak is usually pretty good, but today it was hard and overcooked. All and all very disappointing.

    Go early! You'll thank me! We got a table at 9:00am and had the most delightful server, Sabrina! She was very attentive and had a smile the whole time her section was filling up with more customers. We got coffee, "The American Favorite" and the "Pickle Brined Chicken and Waffle" and it was delicious! The home fries were perfectly soft with a crispy outside, my bacon was perfectly cooked, I made the substitution of an English muffin instead of a biscuit and cheese on my eggs. The chicken was really juicy and freshly fried. The waffle was soft and light. Everything was great and when we left at 10:15am, there was a line with a wait! Will be back!

    Wow! First time here and what can I say. This place takes you back with a modern touch. First of all it's clean, very welcoming staff, and a cool place to eat. I got seated right away and my server got me a drink (Coke) quick. She gave me time to look over the menu with no pressure. I ordered a short rib sandwich with fries and when my order came out it was still hot. The short rib sandwich was nice and soft, and flavorful!! I had to finish up with a classic chocolate milkshake although it was 30 degrees outside. It came with extra milkshake, WOW!! Tasted perfect with the thickness spot on. All in all I highly recommend this spot, or this joint as the older crowd would say. They play all the songs from the past, something we barely hear. I could imagine a cruise night with hot rods and classic cars in the parking lot. Mahalo staff and A Hui Hou! Thank you and until we meet again!

We went at 4:30pm on a Sunday night when it wasn't too busy. Our waiter was very nice and came frequently to our table to check on us and asking if we needed anything. You can also make reservations online. Since the restaurant is located in a mountain area, I had no reception or internet. All the dishes we had were pretty good. They start you with warm complementary bread with butter. The filet mignon was our favorite dish with soft meat and mashed potatoes. The sauce was a little sour to complement the meat. The linguini in the seafood linguine was cooked soft so it's good for little kids, but if you would like it more al dente, you'll probably have to let them know. There were 3 mussels, 2 scallops and several shrimp all cooked well. The green beans were cooked so they were still crunchy. Some of mine were a bit too undercooked for me. There as a good amount of meat in the veal and pork bolognese over pappardelle. The noodle were cooked well and long. The Maryland crab soup was part of the daily dinner special. Wish there was more crab in the Maryland crab soup since I saw a lot of vegetables. It was pretty spicy which wasn't noted on the menu. The crème brûlée was cooked very well. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well.
