If I could give zero stars I would. We came here for a family member's birthday and I'll never come back. The inside is nice and im sure people have had a better experience but being told I can't speak Spanish in a private conversation by an employee of yours was downright uncalled for. I was so shocked I didn't even know how to respond. My sister was trying to order herself a drink with a certain type of tequila and again another off-putting comment from your staff. We were a party of six for brunch on Sunday. This restaurant has so much potential and I'm hoping it was just an off day for us. They have a VERY nice selection of white wines by the bottle. Problem though, none of them are cold except for the bottles sold by the glass. Wait, what?! We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay from Walla Walla. Waiter let us know it was not cold. So we ordered another bottle of Chardonnay from Russian River Valley. It too was not cold. The waiter then offered us a bottle double the price of our original selection. Ugh! Anyway, finally got the original bottle we requested on ice and the waiter just dropped it on the table...no opening it, trying it, pouring it...nothing! Food took forever and came out less than luke warm, but did have good flavor. They could use a few more servers. Service was sslloooooowwwwww and un-attentive. Pay attention to your bill! I took my sister-in-law here for dinner for her bachelorette and it was the biggest mistake I've made that weekend. We had reservations at 7:30pm for a group of 7 and did not end up eating until around 9pm. It also took a very long to receive our drinks (which was just wine). We mentioned how long our food was taking after about 45 minutes and were told several times it would be another 5 minutes. When we first arrived it seemed they were coming off a little bit of a busy hour, but by the time we ate the restaurant was nearly empty. After the 1.5 hours, our food started coming out one plate at a time over about 20 minutes. I'm convinced no one was making our food until we mentioned how long it was taking . Now here is the kicker-- no attempts were made to amend the issue. We asked our server to either add a discount or have a manager sent over. He only offered a dessert, which we did not want because we didn't want to miss our next event for the bachelorette weekend and were tired of sitting there for hours at this point. Later we discovered that the server didn't want to send a manager or discount the meal because when 7 or more people are at dinner, the tip is included. So despite failures of Handsome Cab staff, we had to pay full price and 20% tip for a meal that took 2 hours and for mediocre service and experience. I would not recommend Handsome Cab for larger groups. Maybe it's ok when it's just 2-4 people, but I wouldn't take that gamble. read more

We had an amazing meal here with plenty of space distanced from other tables for a COVID safe meal out. Our servers were great. We ordered expresso martinis which were well made! We started with the Brussel sprouts and mushroom toast. The sprouts were flash fried with smoked bacon and picked onions. Great flavor with a complimenting apple cider gastrigue glaze. The toast had great mushroom flavor, with wilted spinach, garlic, marsala and taleggio cheese. To me a bit heavy, but everyone else loved it too. For entrees, we had the duck, salmon and scallops. The duck breast was perfectly cooked and served with delicious ricotta gnocchi. The seared scallops were served with a fried arancini, wilted spinach and a smoked tomato cream sauce. Salmon was delicious as well, and served with the Brussel sprouts and a sweet potato drizzle. Our dessert brought us back to our travels in Montreal...yummy dessert crepes stuffed with Nutella, marshmallows and banana!!! Very decadent and the perfect finish to our amazing evening! read more

The Handsome Cab was nearby and had some outdoor seating so we gave it a shot. I had the Project 2964, which included cold press coffee, bourbon, maple syrup and bitters. It was a great choice after dinner, almost dessert like but not cloyingly sweet. It was just pleasant to sit at their patio with great drinks. The server was attentive and friendly. We were seated and served by Corey who was extremely attentive and prompt. We ordered the Handsome Cab's variant of "Bang" shrimp and it was the best version we've ever had. Crisp outer fried shell over a extra large (or likely colossal) shrimp. Wonderful. We also had the Cab Bread, a delightfully topped split loaf with a tomato and ?parm spread. Either didn't last long. My wife enjoyed a new red wine, was standard, no complaints. I started with Moscow Mule and then sipped the Handsome Cab house red wine for dinner. House wine was fantastic and perfect for my taste of darker/bolder reds. My wife had a Cesar salad with shrimp and I ordered the Cab Burger ("some pink"/rarest) with bacon (upcharge) and fries (upcharge). Skipped the $4 up-charge for cheese. Unfortunate that the burger was overdone. Not a bit of pink on the inside, but with extra char on the outside. Tried to work through it, not pleasurable. Difficult to understand how it was sent out as we were literally the only people in the restaurant aside from the staff. Perhaps overly hot grill too without other food being cooked to cool it down. It might help to be told before ordering that certain items are unavailable. Most of the items above are what we wanted and ordered only to be told later that you didn't have it. We expressed our shock and concern to one of our other servers, who found the other owner/manager for us to speak to. That owner/manager (can't recall which) acknowledged that the perpetrator was drunk and didn't seem surprised. He said he would handle it. I hope he does and wish him luck. Our service was great from both our servers, as well as our drinks. Another relatively new restaurant in downtown York, The Handsome Cab is a refreshing experience if you're looking to get away from the typical bar scene. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with a decent sized dining area, couches surrounding a beautiful piano, and a bar seating area as well. It has a very modern/industrial vibe which is relatively unique to the area. The staff is extremely friendly and their knowledge of the food and drink menus is admirable. You won't find a wide range of beer at this spot, however they do have a phenomenal wine selection, many of which are provided on tap. That's right, wine on tap. I've never heard of anything like it, but I can honestly say that it does not take away from the taste of the wine itself. It's pretty rad, actually. The venue itself even provides opportunities for group wine tastings, so you can find the perfect pair for your meal. The food here is absolutely delicious. Most recently, I had the Chicken Oscar, which was beautiful to look at and absolutely mouth-watering. However, I will say that the food menu itself is rather small. Despite the presence of multiple menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner, there is some overlapping in small plates and other dishes, and the pricing seems a little high for market. But I tell you what, the desserts at this joint really take the cake (no pun intended). The Chocolate Mousse is phenomenal and even though I'm not a fan of coconut, the Coconut Cake is really good. Overall, solid B. The gorgeous dining area, atmosphere, great food and a wide selection of wines make this a great spot for a nice date, or to just hangout with some friends.
