Miller Lite & Caught in the Rain Drink. This drink had Rumhaven, Coconut Rum, Orange, and pineapple Juice with Coconut Cream.

Iron Horse York 11-9-24 I have never here when I lived in York but was back for a reunion and I had to try it. Arrived about 1:20pm and the place was not that busy. It was neat, clean, and well-lit with large windows on the outer walls. The interior has a cool vibe and looks great. Our waitress Madison came over and got our drink orders and food orders fast. I ordered the Mortadella Cuban Sandwich. This sandwich Pork, Mortadella, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Mustard, served with Onion Gravy. It comes with your choice of Fries or Salad. I ordered the Salad for a side. I also ordered a Miller Lite Beer for a drink. My wife ordered the Steak Salad with Mixed Greens, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Cucumbers, Gorgonzola Cheese, and Sirloin Steak with Balsamic Vinaigrette and a Caught in The Rain drink. This drink had Rumhaven, Coconut Rum, Orange, and pineapple Juice with Coconut Cream. Our drinks came out first and my Beer was ice cold, I loved it. My wife's drink was cold and very tasty, we both loved her drink. Our food came out a short time later and my sandwich and Salad looked amazing. My wife's salad filled her entire plate. My sandwich was hot and very tasty. The Onion Gravy took it to the next level. My wife's Steak Salad was very good and the Steak was done to her liking. Our waitress Madison checked on us a bunch of times as she was on the top of things. I must give this place 5 out of 5 stars because the food was good, the service was good, and the beer was cold. Stopped here for a blue moon while passing through York for a hair appointment. Super cute place and the service was nice. Sat at the bar and had a crisp blue moon and it was nice and cold!! The restaurant was well-kept. I didn't eat there this time, but I will the next time I'm passing through.

Our first time here. We had a brunch before heading out to the shops. Tiny husband had a old fashion apple pie & I had a watermelon/cucumber drink. I forgot the name . Both drinks were super strong but good. For starters we had the calamari which was cooked well and the sauce that went with it was light and good. My husband and I shared the brick oven pizza . It was the Philly cheese steak I believe. It was an ok place to eat. I would like to come back to try the other drinks. Our waitress was very nice and attentive

This place was delicious. This was the best penne alla vodka I've had! It was so creamy and thick and the onions and bacon made the sauce even better. We also got the cheesesteak egg rolls which were fire, but a total ripoff for the price. For $9, you get two egg rolls cut in half to make it look like you got 4 total pieces, regardless it wasn't worth the price but they were damn good. We also both got multiple drinks and we were both very satisfied with our cocktails. My fiancé got the alligator curry during restaurant week, which he loved but was very expensive at $38. We will be returning here but will be cautious about ordering apps and pricey items! This pasta though was seriously delicious and the perfect serving size.

Alligator curry, a York restaurant week exclusive.

I came here solely for the alligator curry they were offering for this year's restaurant week and was not disappointed. The gator was tender, perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic mixed together with all of what came in it. The cocktail "Caught in the Rain" with rumhaven coconut rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and coconut cream was so good I had to get two of them; it also was visually appealing before sucking them down in three minutes or less. The rum-haven mojito was also great, reminded me of a drink I consumed many times in Jamaica. The cheesesteak egg rolls were awesome, although be warned they only come with two rolls split in halves, so I'd only order them if you REALLY like quality over quantity. We were tempted to order dessert just from the menu and then the server brought out slices of cakes as if she read our minds and we were sold. My fiancee got a slice of chocolate cake, and I also ordered it until she protested that I needed to try the lemon sponge cake (the classic 'order something that I didn't so I can try that one too' move) and it worked in my favor; although I'm not a big fan of lemon desserts, this sponge cake had a perfect lemon-cake-frosting ratio and it rocked, so glad I tried it. Our server was very attentive, checking on us the goldilocks amount of times, not so much that it was annoying but just enough to make sure we were being taking care of. She also was good at recommending cocktails and desserts. All in all, I was skeptical of the three-star rating, but I had the opposite experience as the low star-ers. Most people leave reviews only when they have nothing but bad things to say, but this place was so good I had to leave a review to show how great of an experience we had. Definitely will be back.

Nice and friendly staff, very inviting and great service. The hostess was super nice, bar tender made good Moscow Mule, never had one with jalapeño and it was great, steak was good. Desert was amazing

We had a great dinner there on a Wednesday night. The inside was a very cool rustic-industrial design that we loved. Kasey was our server and she was on point. Friendly and knowledgeable. The men had the steaks that were perfectly cooked. I had the spaghetti topped with steak and even though I wanted to save half for the next day, it was so good I finished it all. We also really enjoyed the fried Thai shrimp appetizer and the chocolate cake dessert. Would recommend this restaurant and plan to return next time we are in York PA.

    Penne Alla Vodka, no bacon

Amazing food and drinks! Not too expensive either. Our server was amazing, even though she was only helping out for the night. August 12th, 2023

I was able to snag a last minute reservation about 2 days prior to Valentine's Day. I was looking forward to this dinner. I think it was very cute what they did with the menu, making it heart themed, the napkins were folded into little hearts and they draped pink tablecloths along with roses on each table. I had the Parmesan oysters to start, and they were small yet delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses just did not meet my expectations. I had the tamarind pork chops, and while the pork chops were soft and chewy, the sauce was not good. Just wayyyyyy too salty. I heavily struggled to finish the sweet potato and the parsnips as well due to the same issue. I did not finish. Service was excellent, we could tell Shayla tried really hard. Our table wobbled and she immediately tried to fix it. It was a busy night, and they had lovely piano music playing along with a busy bar. The aesthetic of this hotel is very nice, but unfortunately the bathroom was very dirty as well. Another pro side, would be free parking in the garage for the weekend even for this cute holiday.

I asked if they had any Vanilla Ice Cream as it wasn't on the menu and they did so purchased a scoop to go with my apple dumpling. The kitchen was slow and took way to but they did have to bake the dessert. They did add some extra ice cream as it took about an hour. I do think they forgot about me at first and the bar tender had to run back at least two occasions to check the kitchen. The service from the bartender and the dessert were perfect. That season dessert was so good and highly recommended it.

The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

You see, back in 17th century England, private houses would open their homes to the public and sell food and beer. Hence, public house. Over time, they dropped the "lic house" and just called them pubs. Because you never dropped the "lic house" makes me think that you haven't evolved like you should have. And frankly, your food is proof. In fact, it even made me nostalgic. But not in the way you might think. You see, I loved making fun food concoctions when I was a kid. My sister and I would watch this corny show called "Zoom" on Maryland public television, where the kid hosts would make recipes sent in from all over the country. We'd make homemade peanut butter cups using Jif and semisweet chocolate chips. Or weird sandwich combinations like pickles and potato chips and cheese and jelly. The seafood egg rolls weren't the worst part of my meal, but they were definitely sophomoric--as if a kid chef-in-training was asked to whip something up from Chinese food leftovers. Seafood should never taste fishy, yet these did. One bite hit me like something that had been sitting a little too long above the waterline. Not to mention, they were laying on a greasy glob of some mayonnaise accompaniment disguised as a fancy garnish you'd see on MasterChef. One word: Ick. The ahi tacos. Oh boy. My mind fills with seawater the moment I think of them because they tasted as if they had been fished right out of the ocean and then placed on my plate. They were wet. Soaked. Drenched. The gelatinous seaweed clump on each taco wasn't culinary-forward, just unappetizing. I took one bite and wished I could spit it back out, but I reluctantly swallowed it. My esophagus is now aquaphobic thanks to you. The moment the coconut jasmine rice hit my mouth, my tastebuds took the red eye to the coconut tree haven of the Maldives. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but the rice and coconut had no cohesion. It tasted like my younger self dumping a handful of shredded coconut--the sweetened kind my mom kept in the pantry for the wool on her Easter-shaped lamb cake--into a cup of microwaveable rice. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was your kind, charismatic waiter. He was lovely in every way--attentive, sweet, and helpful. He would have been an incredible host on "Zoom." If only his personality made the food taste better. For your sake, I hope you learn to evolve your kitchen's offerings beyond the amateurish trio I experienced. If not, your restaurant's bones may end up fossilized alongside every other place that couldn't adapt.
