There is so much to say. So I'll keep it to the point. My wife and I were on our way back from MD one weeknight. We stopped to grab something to eat. The interior of the place is beautiful. Reminds me of an Italian winery with a little modern flair. The place wasn't real busy so seating wasn't an issue. We were warmly greeted and treated quickly with drink offerings. I decided that due to the time, I would just grab a few apps. My wife decided on the Penne Vodka. Btw...very good and had a nice flavor. I grabbed almost all the apps and shared with my wife. Crab balls, calamari (delicious, chefs kiss), meatballs, and shrimp tacos. Also got the Uova in Purgatorio...aka eggs in purgatory. If you know you know. Splendid dish! This was probably one of the worst meals we've had in a while. It was busy so partly understandable however the portions & quality left a lot to be desired. Started with calamari. It was very greasy & any large pieces were actually raw. Ate all the small pieces but by the time the waitress got around to us & we showed her the raw bits (about half the serving) she took it back, said the kitchen staff apologized... but they still charged us full price for the app & didn't even offer to recook or replace. The penne vodka was the smallest pasta servings I've seen and the $6 added chicken amounted to a few tiny pieces. The crab cake sandwich, was a crab cake about half the size of the roll & nothing special. The fish special was mushy Barramundi. No complaints about our server but we would never go back here. All 3 of us left hungry & a bit grossed out by it all. read more

Iron Horse York 11-9-24 I have never here when I lived in York but was back for a reunion and I had to try it. Arrived about 1:20pm and the place was not that busy. It was neat, clean, and well-lit with large windows on the outer walls. The interior has a cool vibe and looks great. Our waitress Madison came over and got our drink orders and food orders fast. I ordered the Mortadella Cuban Sandwich. This sandwich Pork, Mortadella, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Mustard, served with Onion Gravy. It comes with your choice of Fries or Salad. I ordered the Salad for a side. I also ordered a Miller Lite Beer for a drink. My wife ordered the Steak Salad with Mixed Greens, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Cucumbers, Gorgonzola Cheese, and Sirloin Steak with Balsamic Vinaigrette and a Caught in The Rain drink. This drink had Rumhaven, Coconut Rum, Orange, and pineapple Juice with Coconut Cream. Our drinks came out first and my Beer was ice cold, I loved it. My wife's drink was cold and very tasty, we both loved her drink. Our food came out a short time later and my sandwich and Salad looked amazing. My wife's salad filled her entire plate. My sandwich was hot and very tasty. The Onion Gravy took it to the next level. My wife's Steak Salad was very good and the Steak was done to her liking. Our waitress Madison checked on us a bunch of times as she was on the top of things. I must give this place 5 out of 5 stars because the food was good, the service was good, and the beer was cold. Appetizers were good. Took me 20 minutes to order a beer and didnt get a chance to order a second. Steak on steak salad was not good. And not enough dressing. Stopped here for a blue moon while passing through York for a hair appointment. Super cute place and the service was nice. Sat at the bar and had a crisp blue moon and it was nice and cold!! Decor/service: nice place but very loud. Was difficult to hear other people at the table. Service was quick but not the friendliest and they seemed to want to turn over tables way to quickly. They brought us our check without seeing if we wanted dessert. 3/5 Food: Margarita pizza- best part of the outing. Tasty and cooked well. Good crisp 4/5 Flat iron steak: undercooked. Overall a great experience with good food (not great), interesting drink menu, and our waitress was excellent. Loved the location and even though they don't have parking, we easily found street parking within a block (free after 5) on a Thurs evening. Loved the modern industrial touches inside. Still managed to be warm and cozy. Only complaint came with the check: prices on the bill didn't match what was on the menu. Sadly, not lower either. Our first time here. We had a brunch before heading out to the shops. Tiny husband had a old fashion apple pie & I had a watermelon/cucumber drink. I forgot the name . Both drinks were super strong but good. For starters we had the calamari which was cooked well and the sauce that went with it was light and good. My husband and I shared the brick oven pizza . This place was delicious. This was the best penne alla vodka I've had! It was so creamy and thick and the onions and bacon made the sauce even better. We also got the cheesesteak egg rolls which were fire, but a total ripoff for the price. For $9, you get two egg rolls cut in half to make it look like you got 4 total pieces, regardless it wasn't worth the price but they were damn good. We also both got multiple drinks and we were both very satisfied with our cocktails. My fiancé got the alligator curry during restaurant week, which he loved but was very expensive at $38. We will be returning here but will be cautious about ordering apps and pricey items! This pasta though was seriously delicious and the perfect serving size. read more

I came here solely for the alligator curry they were offering for this year's restaurant week and was not disappointed. The gator was tender, perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic mixed together with all of what came in it. The cocktail "Caught in the Rain" with rumhaven coconut rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and coconut cream was so good I had to get two of them; it also was visually appealing before sucking them down in three minutes or less. The rum-haven mojito was also great, reminded me of a drink I consumed many times in Jamaica. The cheesesteak egg rolls were awesome, although be warned they only come with two rolls split in halves, so I'd only order them if you REALLY like quality over quantity. We were tempted to order dessert just from the menu and then the server brought out slices of cakes as if she read our minds and we were sold. My fiancee got a slice of chocolate cake, and I also ordered it until she protested that I needed to try the lemon sponge cake (the classic 'order something that I didn't so I can try that one too' move) and it worked in my favor; although I'm not a big fan of lemon desserts, this sponge cake had a perfect lemon-cake-frosting ratio and it rocked, so glad I tried it. Our server was very attentive, checking on us the goldilocks amount of times, not so much that it was annoying but just enough to make sure we were being taking care of. She also was good at recommending cocktails and desserts. All in all, I was skeptical of the three-star rating, but I had the opposite experience as the low star-ers. Most people leave reviews only when they have nothing but bad things to say, but this place was so good I had to leave a review to show how great of an experience we had. We had a great dinner there on a Wednesday night. The inside was a very cool rustic-industrial design that we loved. Kasey was our server and she was on point. Friendly and knowledgeable. The men had the steaks that were perfectly cooked. I had the spaghetti topped with steak and even though I wanted to save half for the next day, it was so good I finished it all. We also really enjoyed the fried Thai shrimp appetizer and the chocolate cake dessert. Would recommend this restaurant and plan to return next time we are in York PA. read more

The tap beers aren't on the menu, only bottled beer. The waitress took our drink and dinner order. It took at least 30 minutes for the food. Then the waitress forgot to enter a person's dinner. Just an apology from the waitress not a discount or even free meal, especially since everyone was almost finished with their meals. Also they charged us $0.75 for extra Mayo for a sandwich, really? As for the food, it was tasty and the portion sizes were decent too. I don't recommend the bacon and egg pizza unless if you're in the mood for a breakfast sandwich. read more

We visited here over a year ago when we were in town for a memorial and just had to come back! It's a beautiful space, elegantly adorned. The food is amazing! Used to be our favorite spot and decided to go in tonight before the dinner rush. We got calamari appetizer. My husband got steak and I got the tuna bites from the small bite menu. Calamari used to be amazingly fresh, it was definitely frozen this time. My husband's steak ordered medium was more like medium well and the roasted potatoes on his plate were raw. My tuna, which used to be sushi grade was fishy and the seaweed salad on the plate was inedible. So disappointing as I said, this used to be our favorite spot. Such a shame. read more

The hostess was pushy, rude, did not let us know that there was only one server, and wouldn't let us sit saying there was a 20 minute hold on the kitchen so they could catch up. What this place lacks in space, it makes up in character and personality. The service was great, bellied up to the bar and enjoyed constant attention as we enjoyed our meal. Not good!!! The owner refused to take back my parsley that was really black and speckled. The bean sprouts were slimy. Like old veggies in the fridge, slimy. Easy location. Typically seating is available during lunch. The food is consistently good and fresh. I usually get a salad. Their egg salad is delicious. Chunky, peppery yummy-ness.
