Wow! What a wonderful experience we had at Granfalloons this evening. The restaurant is located not far from the Square in downtown York. There's plenty of parking in the City Hall parking lot if you're there after hours. We arrived just before 6pm on a Friday and got a table for 7 right away. Mike came over and greeted us, and took our drink and appetizer order. We ordered more drinks and finally dinner. Mike remembered absolutely everything without writing it down. Drinks and dinner for 7 people and not one mistake-Amazing! We all really enjoyed our meals. My mushroom and Swiss burger was cooked to perfection. Not one complaint around the table. And bonus... Friday evenings from 6 to 9 PM most of the menu is half price! We will definitely be back! read more

This restaurant/bar is located in the heart of York city so they do have a small parking lot attached to the restaurant and i'm not sure if there's any more parking nearby, So parking could get challenging. We were greeted by a very nice guy and the waitress was also very friendly. We decided to order the mozzarella sticks for $8 and a full order of wings for $17. We decided for the wings to go with old bay and honey and then old bay and ranch dry seasoning extra crispy. The mozzarella sticks were a good deal for the price you got six. They were fried great with a good cheese pull. The wings were also very good, but I think they were way overpriced. You only got ten wings for seventeen dollars, and then they charge an extra two dollars for extra ranch, which is crazy ! It was a nice place. I would go back, but I would never get wings again. I've been going to GF for twenty+ years. I have never been so disappointed in the management until tonight. The 'new' manager sat on his ass at the end of the bar, taking up two bar stools while the only bartender/server was keeping up to the best of his ability. Our class reunion event venue, changed their contract with us 5 days before the reunion. Five days!! Fortunately, Granfollons, had us set up and ready to go in 1 day. Oh, what a great place it is! We had the entire back yard to ourselves for quite a while. The food was fantastic. They had a complete menu, not just your typical bar fare. They had a fully stocked bar ready for our arrival. They even had adult (read: humongous) games of corn hole, connect four and jenga. They had a DJ after a couple of hours. Amazing venue, amazing food, amazing bar and amazing staff = 5 stars! We stopped at Granfalloons during the Leprechaun Crawl a few days ago. When we walked in, the guy at the door didn't say anything, even though we were all carrying our plastic shamrock mugs and were obviously there for the crawl. Nor did any other employees while we walked through the bar area looking for the sample station. After we asked, the guy at the door was very rude and said they had run out of samples. We got there at around 3:30, about an hour and a half before the end of the crawl! We wouldn't have cared that they ran out if we hadn't been met with such a rude response when we asked. Whether they were just unprepared or things didn't go the way they expected, treating people this way is a deal breaker. That's the first and last time I'll ever set foot inside this place. I would much rather spend my time and money at the many other downtown bars where the service and atmosphere are much better. read more

First time here - came to see a Tom Petty cover band. Parking was NOT an issue with a big, free lot just steps away. Started off inside at downstairs bar on the first floor. We had a couple very good drinks and waited a bit for our food order of cheesesteak with onions, hot peppers and provolone, and the Memphis BBQ burger and fries. Both were a hit. (Partner is pretty critical but really loved the bbq burger and even commented on the fries, which were great.) Next, took more drinks outside and sat at one of a number of picnic tables to enjoy the music. Noticed orders of food were being brought outside as well. Drinks at outside bar were less strong. We were the oldsters there for sure but never felt uncomfortable and def will be back again. read more

If you're familiar with York City, you've definitely heard of Granfalloon's. Although many of you may disagree with me, this is my favorite bar in York, by far. It's been in business for years -- my mother used to hang out here back in her day, so they must be doing something right. The centralized location makes it the perfect place to start, or end, a night out on the town. There are two bars in the building itself, one on each floor, plus they have a spacious deck up top that has a bar as well. Because of it's popularity in York, you always end up running into someone you know, which I find is a plus (unless you're an introvert). The bartenders are always on top of their game, and if you treat them right, they'll treat you the same. The food is solid -- typical bar food, but their wings are definitely top five in my opinion. Late night specials on Natty Boh and Fireball, Karaoke on Sundays, and the fantastic service are just a few of the reasons I love this place. Seriously, if you're looking to have a good time, whether it's a weekday or a weekend...go here. It can get a little crowded on the weekends, especially when school is out or over the holidays, turning into a very frat party vibe, but that only adds to the charm. While in town for work some friends and I were looking for a local bar/tavern to sit outside and have some drinks and this was the first to pop up. The place was quite busy when we arrived at 7pm and we made our way right to the roof top seating. Staff was super friendly and happy to please. Drinks were stiff and fairly priced. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Only downside was finding parking. Since I hadn't been there before I didn't know where I was allowed to park and not allowed to park. I ended up parking a block up on the street and there was a group of little kids walking around throwing rocks at peoples cars? Completely ridiculous. Will return. read more

I thought a lot about making a comment to this place, I fought a lot to myself but... If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. I'm used to hangout in Lancaster and Philly area. For the first time I came to Granfalloons to spend some good time with some friends. I did have a good time with them until 1am, when the upstairs staff started to walk around to clean the tables. 30m-40m before to 2am (their location on google maps says they close at 2am), the remaining of my friends went downstairs and let our table free because we saw the discomfort of the upstairs staff and most of the costumers were in the first floor anyway, two of our friends were on the stairs talking to some guys, we went downstairs and waited for them. We faced, a few minutes later, an "owner" being rude because of my friends were still on the stairs when they were trying to close the place (before 2am), the f* first floor was full of people, I was trying to get something myself at the bar, where everyone else was enjoying the rest of their night, when I saw the owner putting my friends out of the pub, I asked HIM what happened and he said what I mentioned up there: they were at the stairs when I said to go down. I tried to talk to him that he didn't need to be rude. C'mon, you're, supposedly, the owner of a pub and don't you know how to treat your costumers at the end of the night? Even worse, don't you know how to treat women? Is that how you handle the situation? Only rudeness, I got out of his view and one of the staffs said he's always like that, also some costumers. I tried again to talk to him, he started TO YELL AT ME, spitting on my face and that really stressed me out. Where I came from, if a man treats a woman like that, there's no man in the room that would let that go farther. I answered him, "I know how to yell too". He GRABBED me thru my armpits and PUSHED me away, with a lot of witnesses around. What heck? How coward can a man be? Idk if he had a bad day, or something else, but HE PUSHED ME AWAY, a woman, way weaker than him. That's a huge insult to every woman. The ironic thing, when we were all outside and I had my husband to pick us up (AT 2AM!!!) and tried to talk to the guy, he only had to say "I'm trying to work" in softer voice with his tail between his legs and running around with security. I've never agreed with so many Yelpers in one post, woah! Granfalloons is a SWEET building. Upstairs, downstairs, dining room. The FOOD is great. Hot and fresh wings, good bar food all around. The BEER is varied. A few microbrews. A few eurobeers. A few pseudo-micro brews like Sam Adams and leinenkugel, and a lot of MBC very cheap. The CROWD...depends on the night.... and depends on who is playing. I've seen this place filled with 40somethings, frat and sorority girls, punks, hip-hoppers, and squares. That sounds great, but it's never a nice mix in the crowd for my taste. It's kind of like high-school all over again. read more

Great spot even though I wish they offered a bigger dining area. Just a heads up this place turns up after 8pm. Great atmosphere but I was there for restaurant week so not the best! This place has two floors with a bar on both but all the action is on the first level. You can watch from the front of the bar as others play games up stairs on the tv or game console, it was kinda cool. I ordered the three course and got plenty of side eyed stares because due to limited seating I had to sit at the bar. No worries I believe I got more attention from the various dishes they brought out opposed to having a late three course dinner at someone's bar lol it was a first for me which I so happen to appreciate because I love doing things for the first time. Ok so on to the food....first course was chicken alfredo flatbread it was delicious then 2nd course was brisket coleslaw mac and cheese and cornbread. Omg the brisket melted in your mouth and thr cornbread was just like how I make it at home. For dessert it was a Jameson infused brownie with lucky charms with vanilla ice cream. Honestly should this place even be a bar lol I seen everyone with wings and fries while I took part in eating some of the secret hidden gems that came from the side kitchen. This was one of the few go to places as a college kid attending the local college. There are two floors and the space is huge! The drinks are cheap and made well. There are games, seating, and karoake and dancing. The menu is pretty decent for a small place and the food is actually pretty good. The staff is friendly and just a chill place to hang out. I have not been back in a while, but I thought I would give it a review anyways. There are a few regulars so expect to see some familiar faces. read more

Granfalloons profiled my friend for no reason. Would not even entertain the option of explaining why he could not enter their establishment. It's an average bar at best, but the fact they cannot act as professionals is unprofessional. They put their hands on myself after confirming I could enter just for association. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. A suit is most likely going to be a result of this due to their conduct and their manger's aggression towards myself and colleagues. read more

Seriously, you need to get your butts here! Falloons is famous for their wings, and they always have a decent (if limited) selection of beers on tap. Since it went to non-smoking, I can now breathe inside, so we came to see if the wings were as good as I remembered. They are, but the rest of the menu deserves a shout out too. From Korean steak skewers to falafel tacos, this is bar food that foodies can enjoy. The staff here is awesome, the music is cool, you *will* sing aloud , and there's always a fun crowd. On Friday, 11/2/2018 Absolute disgusting lack of professionalism by one of the bouncers who had possibly the shortest fuse I've ever witnessed. My entire group, as well as a vast number of other bystanders witnessed this outrage. We had been there for roughly two hours and were utilizing the tables upstairs. I left to use the bathroom, and when I was walking back up the bouncer took the chair I had been sitting in for the entire duration and moved it to a different (empty) table. I went over and grabbed it and said hey man I've been sitting in this for the past couple hours and moved it back over. This is where it all went severely down hill. He completely snapped over this. After this point he tried provoking me over and over in what I'm pretty sure was an attempt to put his hands on me (trying to get me to react) and throw me out. Consistently over and over calling me different names, as well as saying probably 7 or 8 times how he will knock me the f**k out. The entire time I was calm and collected and continued to say to him I'm not going to let you get me worked up, our whole group was minding our business and not causing any issues what so ever. He proceeded to go and get another bouncer who was his boss. I requested to talk to him about the matter in private to try to let him know the situation, and also inform him how his subordinate was legitimately acting like a lunatic and making a scene in front of many paying customers. During this time while I was trying to talk to his boss, he continued to walk up and look at me saying he was going to knock me the f**k out. His boss apologized to me countless times and said I don't know what his problem is, after realizing how rational I had been the entire time. He then asked if we would all still leave, because he thought that if we stayed his guy would probably continue to get more upset and cause problems. Due to him being understanding and hearing me out I agreed to leaving so to not have any other issues. He again apologized to all of us as we all walked out and said he would have a conversation with him. I fully understand the stress of doing that job and dealing with a lot of out of control intoxicated patrons on a regular basis, but to act that way to someone who was not, and for absolutely no reason at all is incredibly egregious and unacceptable, especially while doing it in front of countless customers that were awestruck by his actions. I've frequented this bar for quite a few years and have never once had any issues. Hopefully this will shed some light on this gentlemen, and things can be resolved on the business side of things. read more

I go to granfalloons but I can't say its on my list of favorite bars. This bar can't seem to get rid of the stale beer and vomit smell that hits you as soon as you walk in the door. Also, the service there is a bit lacking, but once you get your drink you'll notice they don't skim on the alcohol. read more

Went there in the afternoon on a Friday for drinks and there was a small crowd. Unfortunately two out of three or four of their draft beers were out. Lots of bottled selections, but mostly domestic commercial brews from what I can remember. Bartender was friendly. The Internet jukebox rocks! Pretty nice bar and I like the setup, but it can get very stuffy and hot, especially if they have a band. They have some decent beer specials, however they don't have any deals that can't be beat. I've never had any food here and haven't heard anything about it, but their advertised specials can be found at other local bars at much better prices. I like it but don't love it.
