Honestly they have some really good Italian food but the price is definitely on the pricier side. I tend to go to another local pizzeria a bit farther and it has better pizza for cheaper but I do understand it's across from the suns stadium so prices tend to be higher. The food is good and the staff is really nice, it's a pretty mellow environment. It's also extremely clean and nice inside. It's one tissue thin slice of salami, equally thin slice of cotto and cheese, the thinnest slice of tomato, a bit of lettuce, and some spicy veggies on a focaccia for $16. Better get the Italian across the street at Pot Belly - you will feel more satisfied and less like a fool. Their focaccia bread is amazing though - get a side of that instead. I love Pomo, so it's no surprise I also love this place. They're the same ownership and have some Pomo items on the menu. I've previously tried the pork chop Milanese and I'm not a big pork chop fan, but it was delicious and huge! We always get the grilled focaccia appetizer. It's a can't miss; so delicious. Also really good options are the tirolese gnocchi, roasted sprouts and caprese. All were amazing. Lastly we tried the tiramisu for dessert and loved it. In town for a conference and after a quick Google decided to swing by here for lunch on my way to the show!! Best decision ever, I ordered the beet salad and the zucchini chips and I can't even begin to tell you which one was better. What an amazing quick lunch. The zucchini chips are absolutely addictive. My friend and I went to Rosso Italian last night. The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself had a cute atmosphere, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. For appetizers, we ordered the focaccia bread and meatballs. The focaccia was just okay, but the meatballs were so overly salty that we couldn't even finish them. For our mains, my friend had the shrimp pasta, which was also very salty, and I had the salmon pasta, which was bland and lacked any real flavor. The ambiance is ok, a little dated and dark around the tables. The red table candles are old school and not very appealing. The small bar and outdoor seating felt more inviting and conducive to an enjoyable experience. Service was good. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We ordered the antipasto which was very disappointing (pictured) in quality and quantity for 3 people. Two slices of different cold cuts was underwhelming and the choices of lunch meats was average. The almonds were mixed in a cup with wet olives, maybe to hide the fact the almonds were already stale. Three crumbs of bread accompanied the plate which was not enough to even offer tastings for the meats or cheeses. When I requested more bread, I was assured the table could have a "side order of bread" for a charge. I expressed my disagreement in being charged for more bread given the crumbs with the antipasto. When the check came, we were charged. I voiced my concern but ultimately we paid. This is their version of a charcuterie board. Skip it and save the $22. Other food items included the tagliatelle short rib pasta, roasted chicken, and a beet salad. All the dishes were underwhelming. The short rib pasta lacked rib meat and was some type of ground up meat instead. The sauce lacked flavor and tasted like it was out of a jar. The chicken was seasoned ok and cooked well. The sides were lacking in flavor. And the beet salad....still looking for the beets. There were a couple small squares of golden beets, a handful of small squares of red beets and dehydrated, crunchy, flavorless round beets called beet chips. Ample arugula but the salad needed more. Over all though, the beet salad was the best food on the table. Best thing about this place is location. Being across the street from the PHX arena and down the street from the Chase Field is what keeps this place in business. I would have given a 5 star review being that the food was amazing however the service was not great. We sat at the bar and were able to be sat right away but we were not greeted for a while. We were waiting for the bartender to come around to us even to order. It was not that busy for a Monday night and we were having to ask for simple things like silverware, refills, etc. The food however I will say was outstanding. We started with the carpaccio which I will say was just as good if not better than Carbone. We ordered the salmon pasta dish, short rib pasta dish and pepperoni with burrata pizza. All very delicious and different but I could've used some Parmesan for the salmon pasta but the bartenders were "busy" and didn't check on us once. We then had to ask for a box and dessert menu which was also very annoying because we did not feel accommodated. The tiramisu I will say was one of the best I have ever had. Maybe my review will matter a bit more than our attendances the restaurant. My daughter and I were on a date and she chose Italian and I wanted to try Rosso. Immediately I go to split them however all of them were soggy. So we went in with forks and knives. The flavor of the burrata, sun dried tomatoes was my favorite of the three. My daughter preferred the marinated tomato however it was disappointing about the overall dampness to the bruschetta. For dinner we chose Gramigna Boscaiola and the Tagliatelle Short Rib. The pasta was good and The Short rib was tender and juicy however I personally felt as though the entirety of both entrees were flavorless. My daughter who had opted for the Gramigna mentioned she was disappointed due to the profile being bland. For desert we awaited the waiter and bartender in an argument for upwards of 10+ minutes. Finally they hugged it out and he came to take our order of Cheesecake and a pudding dish topped with strawberries. I had a business dinner at Rossi Italian on Wednesday around 5:30. I did make a reservation to ensure we had a table as there was a concert downtown. We were seated immediately and our server was over promptly. The menu is delightful with delicious entrees and drink offerings. The pasta dish we had was very good. I made reservations for dinner since we were catching a show near by. When I got there, I was told that there was a wait because they had so many reservations at the same time. I did get upset and asked, what's the point of the reservation if I have to wait??? The hostess was very indifrent and just said we had to wait. Even though I was upset, we decided to wait. Two minutes into our wait a very nice lady came out from the bar area and gave us a prosecco flute while we waited. She was very friendly and apologetic, she immediately changed my mood. I will say I was HANGRY but I understand things happen. Thankfully our wait was not long, we got seated in the bar area, my reservation was for the main area but it was ok. The decor is so nice that it didn't matter where we sat. Our server was very nice and attentive, she comped us an appetizer for the wait, we didn't ask for it she just brought it out. In my opinion the perfect beet salad has: red and golden beets, peppery greens, goat cheese, pistachios and a mild vinaigrette. This has all of the above :) if nitpicking, I might have wanted a few crumbles of goat cheese to go with the whipped goat cheese. But I don't know it was pretty great. Oh, maybe less greens and a few more red beets. I can do without the beet chips. They didn't do much for me. I'd sub that out for a few more pistachios. I've also reviewed many roasted chickens. In fact, beet salad and roasted chicken might be my favorite dinner. This roasted chicken is delectable and just so yummy. Good quality chicken. Addictive gravy and mushrooms. The night started off "so-so" with the quality of service and quickly went from bad to worse. Unfortunately, our food had an unsuspecting 'critter' literally ready to get eaten on the fork!! Yeap, the worst part, it appeared to be a larva/bug that was moving. Grossed out...
