In January of 2025, I visited the Rose Cafe and inquired with the owner Katie about having a brunch there on a Sunday in May for 18 ladies. I wanted to know if there were any additional fees other than ordering off the menu. I was told there were no additional fees, but I would need to get the orders for my party to make it easier on them the week of the brunch - no problem. I sent an email to Marissa, the manager of the cafe per Katie, who is the owner in February and got confirmation of 18 ladies for the Sunday in May. We could have the rose wall area reserved, and there would be NO additional charges. It's 2 weeks before my brunch, and I was told it would be better for the restaurant to have my brunch on Monday, May 5th, because it's less busy. That is not something I could do. I was then told 2 weeks before this event that there would be an additional fee of 360.00 to reserve the rose wall area. Are you serious? You are going back on a verbal and written email confirmation dated Feb 26, 2025. The owner, Katie, and manager, Marissa, have left me in a very horrible situation. Their communication and lack of, as well as going back on our agreement, has me very confused. I would highly suggest not booking or eating at The Rose Cafe. The rule in business is that the customer is always right. I was treated very poorly and would recommend going somewhere else where the communication and agreements are fulfilled. It was a horrible experience that I would not want anyone to go through. They only got a 1 star rating because Yelp makes you leave a rating. I would have left no stars if possible. read more

Stopped by this morning with a friend. Such a cute place with friendly staff. I ordered the turkey breakfast sandwhich and we shared a vanilla cream croissant. Both were yummy as were our lattes. Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes! read more

My parents and I had the best experience here, we came for Mother's Day. The space is beyond beautiful, with a gorgeous rose wall and pops of pink throughout. We got the croque madam, the fried chicken and eggs with corn cakes, the pork and eggs and the special they had for Mother's Day. Everything was delicious, eggs all cooked perfect, flavors were balanced. The house made focaccia is to die for!! The pork and eggs were my favorite. Don't sleep on trying their specials, the matcha bostock with mango and pineapple was one the best sweet breakfast items I've had. We all left super happy and satisfied. I've been several times since and love their toasts, salads and the matcha drinks are so delicious and unique. LOVE!! It's easy to see a lot of love goes into the recipes and cooking here. I tried this cute little cafe with a friend. I had the açaí bowl with a matcha latte. The bowl was amazing with fresh fruit and granola, and chocolate nibs. The matcha latte was okay, but not my favorite. Service was pretty good, but it does get busy and finding a seat can be hard. I would return and try a different drink. Rose Cafe is a small but wonderful place to eat. The decor throughout is tastefully done, with - guess what - roses and rose color as a theme. The food, however, is the highlight. I ordered beignets and they were outstanding, overcoming the usual offerings that are rather bland. My wife had an açaí bowl which featured more than a few fresh fruits. The coffee, too, was very good. Despite a limited menu, this place is an outstanding place to eat and I recommend it highly. read more

When we first pulled up to Rose Café, it didn't look as good as it actually is for some reason from the parking lot. We are so glad we went in! Everything that came out of the kitchen was so beautiful and delicious. They make all of their pastries in house and their seasonal offerings were incredible. I had the seasonal quiche with butternut squash and goat cheese, and it was insanely good. My husband had the open BLTA sandwich and the bread was so fresh and pillowy, and he said it was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had! our daughter had the blueberry buttermilk pancakes and said they were some of the best pancakes she has ever tasted. They were cooked perfection not overdone not mushy and the blueberries were fresh. It's evident that whoever is cooking in the back they are taking great pride in their work and in the quality of their ingredients and the quality of their products. Not to mention, their customer service was also incredible. It was a really pleasant place to be and hang out. We do not live in the area, but will definitely recommend it and be back anytime we are on vacation. Shout out to the manager for exemplary customer service skills, and warmth and friendliness toward everyone in the room. Coffee was delish and so cute too! read more

Stopped here for lunch after a tour of UCSD and were so glad we did! We ordered the Nuts and berries tartine, the Rose Burger, and the quiche with salad. All were delicious. Also tried their EVOO pistachio cake (their own recipe) and the vanilla croissant which has vanilla custard filling, both were excellent. I overheard one of the other patrons raving about the pork sandwich. The cafe owner was there and chatted with us a little, she and the woman taking orders were both super friendly. I must say, I was concerned about this location until I ate here. Sandwiched in between two great breakfast places, Beach Break and Dons I was so pleasantly surprised that the food here is not your standard breakfast fare. It is different, unique in so many ways. You can tell that they have put a lot of thought into the menu, and it is absolutely perfect. The food is great, and the staff is super friendly. We will be going back there very soon. I have eaten there twice. I have had a chicken sandwich and the Ube waffles, and both times some fantastic baked goods. Everything has been fantastic. Generous portions and reasonable prices. The cafe itself is nicely decorated, with a rose theme in keeping with the name. The only drawback is that it faces a small parking lot that mostly serves the laundromat next door. But the owner, who is a very nice woman, says that they are working on putting in some outdoor seating. Hopefully, that will make the setting a bit more attractive. But it's a great place, so don't let the parking lot discourage you from trying it. read more

Ummmm....yes!!!! Came here for breakfast. It is a new spot I've been wanting to try. Let's start with the employee....he was super welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Now, the menu: something for everyone! Sweet, savory, big or small. We opted for the Croque monsieur. Delicious! And, the tator tots.....sooooo good. The environment is so cute and clean, with plants and Instagram worthy backdrops. The coffee was excellent. I will be back, definitely to try other menu items. read more
