Really fell off over the years and this was the last straw for me. They gave me half RAW bacon on 2 sandwiches that I took to go, when I called to complain and tell them I'm coming back that they need to remake the sandwiches and said that they needed to remake the order because why should I eat cold soggy fries and corn fritters the "manager" said that's how they prepare the bacon and that I should eat the fries and than come back and they'll recook the SAME bacon and put it on the same roast beef that raw bacon was sitting on, when I tried to explain how cross contamination works he than said if I wanted them to do that than just come and he hung up the phone on me, when I called back and asked to speak to a different manager he said there wasn't one and if I want "new bacon" on the same sandwich he could do that but other than that I got a response of "I'm busy" and hung up on me again. It's roast beef placed upon a kaiser roll with a dab of Cheez Wiz to add to an otherwise plain, boring, flavorless roast beef sandwich. This place just doesn't excite any of your senses in any way; the decor is drab, the staff are lined with pre-pubescent teenagers, and quite overrated even for a fast food place. Not bad, but not amazing either. You can easily shrug this off as one of your typical fast food places. If you're around, go and have a quick bite. Fun place with great food. The bread is baked fresh, the roast beef is melt in your mouth delish, the fries are great & cheese on anything you pleeze and the $6 milkshakes are freaking the best. We ordered fries with cheese on the side. My daughter has a dairy allergy. When they called our number, the fries were drenched in cheese. I pointed to them and said that we ordered on the side. The server falsely accused me of touching the fries and the manager refused to replace it. I was completely shocked. He said it was because he couldn't serve them to another customer and would lose money. $4.95 over a customer? First off the place wasn't busy and who would want soggy fries? The fries and cheese probably cost them pennies, Needless to say, the waitress full out lied and he took her word over mine. Stopped by here around 11:30 last night and this has been my worst roll n roaster experience by far. Although the lines are very long and move quickly, the wait for your food takes FOREVER! My friend's number was 600 and we ordered right after him being 601. However after he received his food, 10 other people received their food before our number was called. All we ordered were corn fritters, sweet potato fries, a burger, and two drinks which should NOT take 15 minutes to be ready. There's nothing more I hate than "fast food" not being fast. As if stuffing your face with fried foods isn't bad enough, I have to wait this long for it ??! When I did finally sit down to eat, my food wasn't piping hot either. Ridiculous. I am one of those people that if I eat anything with bread, it must be toasted. When I asked for a toasted bun, I was told "I'm sorry, we don't do that here." Seriously? You can't throw the buns on top of the grill you're OBVIOUSLY cooking the meats on? Not a huge issue because their bread wasn't completely soggy but if it was toasted, my burger would've been 100x better. If you stop by here late night, DO NOT ORDER THE APPLE PIE. I do recall seeing a few slices on the counter and thinking to myself that must've been sitting there all day. Although the sign says FRESHLY BAKED, it didn't appear that way to me at all. As I was walking back to my table from the bathroom, I saw a slice of apple pie being reheated in the microwave. That is all I have to say. My final complaint is the loudspeaker system being ridiculously loud. Every 20 seconds, a loud voice would be blaring out from the speakers calling numbers for your food. We chose a table all the way in the back to avoid the commotion and noise. That turned out to be the worst decision we made. I could barely eat with the guy screaming 169 ready now, ONE SIXTY NINE!!! Worst dining experience ever. On to the positives, I do love their orangeade and sweet tea! Both are delicious and home made!!! Also their corn fritters are delicious- thin crispy batter filled with creamy corn inside. HELL YES. Roll-N-Roaster's "roast beef n cheez" sandwich is better than Brennan & Carr's by a landslide. It's easily one of my favorite sandwiches. This place serves up some great fast food; not just their roast beef sandwiches. Their fries, lemonade, corn fritters, and, surprisingly enough, baked sweet potato with brown sugar and cinnamon are all delicious as well. Simply the best fast food you can get. Been going here for over 30 years. Roast beef with extra gravy and a bit of cheese is perfect. Food doesn't taste like nasty chemicals and the meat is fresh and you can eat light (turkey sandwich, non fried items) or heavy (if you get all fried food). The one on E 13th was divine but, I suppose the people weren't because one day I wanted a sandwich and didn't get none (it had closed.) I've had someone drive me to the one in Sheepshead a few times but, now that I'm single the car service is gone and I'm lamenting the "what's missing in my life"! So good. I came here after years of seeing it's commercial on TV. I came here with my fiance and it was pretty packed. Parking in the area is a problem, so prepare yourself for countless drive arounds in search of a space. They have a small parking lot, but it was full for a while until my 3rd turn around. The place is very clean, the decor is decent and you can tell its a staple in the neighborhood. The prices are a tad bit pricey for fast food. The Food was ok, and I do mean ok. I had the cheese burger and cheese fries, and my fiance had the roast beef sandwich with cheese fries. Oops i mean cheez fries. Yehp, its not traditional cheese, its more like cheez whiz. That for me is what killed my tasting experience. Alot of people like that, but I dont. The burger was juicy and had good flavor, but sadly the cheez took away from the taste. Which also made it much more difficult to enjoy the fries. The roast beef was also pretty good. I can safely say, that I doubt I will come back to this place. Its not that the food is bad or anything, but it just wasnt my thing. I like actual cheese on my burger and fries. The area is very nice however, and the staff were super cool and friendly. This place has been in business forever for a reason. It's fantastic! The roast beef sandwich is the stuff of Brooklyn legend. I would argue it's the best roast beef sandwich in Brooklyn because the juices and cheese cover every part of the sandwich. It's not overloaded with meat and thus dry at the bottom. They also have many great and unique sides as well like corn fritters and the famous ridged fries. The fresh orangeade is amazing too. Every fast food place should be like this. Great tasting ingredients that aren't sent in from an evil corporate headquarters somewhere. This place is as classic Brooklyn as it gets. Very nice establishment. Fast service. I honestly think this place is overhyped. The cheeseburger I ordered only had a patty with cheese on it, not what I expected. The roast beef double dipped sandwich I found to be small , overpriced and lacking in taste . The pizza reminds me of those cheap frozen supermarket pizzas, at least the price was cheap. Grew up in Brighton beach. Moved everywhere in NY and NJ. Every time I am passing by, it is a must stop for some great food. On April 22nd I knew I will be passing by. Ordered the same thing I always order. Roast beef and fries, order number 170. When the food came out I did not see the cottage fries. The person next to me waiting for his take out saw my fries and was upset. I look for solutions not absolutes. First, I look at it as if we can send people to the moon and robots to Mars, I'm sure someone, somehow we can get cottage fries back. Second, since RnR is only one location and the icon for so many to travel to, I suggest going to the next best French fry to bring in. The company is well known and also starting in Brooklyn NY they have great French fries. I'm sure most everyone would agree to have Nathan fries with their RnR sandwiches.
