The bread was soft with the right amount of crunch and the filling was super fresh and bold in flavor. You can tell they don't skimp on anything here. The people working there were super nice and made me feel like I've been going in forever. Its the kind of place you just know you'll continue to come back to. The store is super clean. The food is premium and fresh. You have to speak up at the counter and present yourself to be served or certain people will jump ahead of you to get served first. This happened to me and then a lady said you go ahead - she was courteous. Anyway, the ravioli was phenomenal. I purchased some tomato puree, fresh mozzarella --so fresh, a pork loin, and 2 types of sausage, and chicken cutlets. All fresh and all nice flavors. Landi's Pork store is an amazing place for cold cuts, deli meats, prepared foods, and all other fine Italian goods! When you walk in you know everything will be delicious by the amount of customers, staff, and quality of items. If you love local this is a must try and try again and again. The middle of the store is filled with quality Italian pre packaged food, drinks, and goods. The old school nostalgia is alive and well inside this store! Also a fantastic Italian sub and some of the best rainbow cookies I've found in the city. A few years ago I was reminiscing with a friend and she said how she always went to Arthur Ave in the BX when she visited from CT and was surprised why I didn't. Don't get me wrong I enjoy Arthur Ave. However, I am a born and raised Brooklynite, local butchers was common growing up. This is a true old school butcher which sadly is not as prevalent in NYC any longer. I was in the area and stopped in and left with fennel sausage and pork chops. Landi's pork store is a top notch neighborhood institution. Whether it's the butcher shop, the Italian delicacies all amongst the store, or that deli counter that just has every item you would ever want to eat in life. Of course I can't turn down a great Italian deli sandwich and I created my own, although I love the classics but having the ability to put whatever I want that tickles my fancy that day is always a plus. I decided to start my sandwich with of course a semolina hero bread adding chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, balsamic glaze, and the kicker hot soppressata. The sandwich was filled to capacity and hearty lunch and with that could've been my dinner for the day. The sandwich I got ended up being my five other coworkers sandwiches for the next two days we were there. The staff are great people, very nice and knowledgeable of the items in the store. Every Sunday, firetrucks park all around the the two intersections of Ralph Ave, Ave N and East 59th Street , Brooklyn for the best Italian food! They have the sauces, the pasta, sausage, cold cuts, deli, produce. You name it, you can get it or the ingredients to make it! My favorites are the antepasta salad, the goat cheese stuffed hot peppers, and the yellow finger peppers stuffed with some delicious cured meat and cheese. From the fresh meats and custom cuts/orders to the prepared food counter where you can lose your mind deciding what to get. The countermen, by and large, have worked there awhile and know what they're selling and talking about. Deli meat? They slice and wrap it like you bought gold. Landi's might be know for their product but definitely not for the managements treatment of their customers. I was never more insulted by the manager or maybe he was the owner because I asked for service. The store was relatively empty and I was the only customer waiting at the butcher counter. I had been waiting for a couple of minutes when I noticed a worker who was sitting behind the counter. I asked for help and was ignored. Waited a little while longer when another worker came out, asked for help, was ignored. Waited again, "Mr. Personality" came out, I looked to him for help and he said "You will be next ma'am." I jokingly said and exaggerated, "I've been waiting 10 minutes" to which he nastily responded. "No you haven't been here 10 minutes. I saw you come in" I again, jokingly said " OK, only 7." He then intentionally walked behind me and uttered, nastily, "she should order on Amazon." Then he made a comment to another customer about me which I made him know I heard. Now, because he had such good manners, he came around the counter, bent down in my face and told me "the problem is these workers aren't given respect for all their hard work throughout the pandemic. They worked the whole time" Where this statement came from is beyond me! He's their employer, he should be compensating them for their hard work. Aside from that, I never disrespected any worker in that store including him and let's be clear, he not only deserved to be put in his place for the way he spoke to a customer but definitely a few classes in anger management and customer relations. Stopped by Landi's to pick up some prosciutto, but I ended up buying way more things than I expected. The prices are extremely reasonable-- $24/lb for prosciutto, $8-10/lb for marinated salads, $9 for some fresh mozz. Would love to return for some of their famous sausages! read more

I live outside of Washington, DC and the closest drive to an Italian grocery or pork store is over an hour away with good traffic. I decided to try Landi's and sent them a big order. I got my order last week, exquisitely packed and so far everything has been delicious. I Called them to thank them in taking such care in wrapping and packing.
