Long hair in my pizza zombie
Melissa P.

First and last time at this place. Long hair baked onto my pizza zombie. Couldn't trust the inside. I guess hairnets aren't required. Good thing I waited until I got home, otherwise...

Original cheese zombie is great, fresh and good amount of cheese. The large cookie was also delicious soft and chewy! Friendly customer service and cute Halloween decor inside as well!! Lots of seating.

My first time at Rob Zombie. The food was amazing. I got the cheeseburger. The service was amazing. I love the different artworks. We also got some iced coffee. Definitely will come again .

If I had the financial means to create a cool hangout spot with delicious but quick food, coffee, and beer, I would hope to be smart enough to create a spot like Robs Zombies. There is ample parking, and it's a quick stop off highway 4. Excessive indoor seating and an outdoor patio, so you are guaranteed a table. Service is friendly, and because the zombies are kept warm they are literally IMMEDIATELY ready. The zombies are varied and fun to try- stop in on Fridays and get the special of brisket and pulled pork zombies, you will thank me later!

Pulled pork Zombie

Dammmnmmm! Tasty!!! This was my first visit and this place was no joke! It was early, time for breakfast, but was told they had fresh pulled pork a nd brisket. I went for the pullednpork and it was delicious! The pork was jucy and oh so tasty. The bread pocket was so fresh and tasty. Loved it! And the coffee!! Wow!!! This is not Starbucks (not a fan of that chain). I drink my coffee black, so Im picky. This is not a typical coffee. Super strong, but not bitter. Sure, strong coffee but really an interesting taste. I asked, it is Columbian. I like wine and whisky tasting, tried to pick out some flavors but couldn't, no bother, it is just awsome. I might have to make this place a regular stop.

We had been running errands and realized we missed the most Important meal of the day. I had not had a "zombie" in quite awhile and it seemed like a quick solution to my missed meal. Wifey had wanted to get a coffee, so we definitely marked 2 things off our lists in one full swoop. I had purchased a Ham and Cheese and wifey had ordered a Cappucino. The wait was short although the line was long. The gal at the counter was friendly and personable. Ham and Cheese Zombie hit the spot and they had a Jalapeno Popper Zombie I look forward to try it the next time we visit this establishment.

There aren't too many food options in North Concord and Rob's Zombies is a great choice. The location is spacious and there is easy parking in the lot. We ordered ham and cheese, the breakfast, and the apple pie. Unfortunately, they were out of the pups the day we went. I do recommend eating them warm! One thing to note is that my husband has ordered the breakfast zombie twice and both times the zombies were mushy. He wasn't sure if it was undercooked or if it was supposed to be that consistency. Apple pie was interesting, I'm used to flaky crusts and this was a new take. Ham & Cheese is the best and my favorite! Highly recommend!

A staple of the east bay. Cheese zombies are something I grew up eating at the school cafeteria and to find them in a restaurant/bar is so satisfying. They taste just like how I remember them and even have some interesting novel flavors. Service is always quick but they can run out later in the day so make sure to come by lunch time! There is also an outdoor seating area where I have seen food trucks pop up in the evenings.

The cappuccino spilt all over my sweater and pants. Notice the red marks on my neck....it hurt. :(

Got the bacon sausage cheddar crispy sandwich, and an iced mocha with extra mocha and no whip. The sandwich took just a few minutes to be ready. My iced beverage, about twice as long, which was still pretty quick. Everything was made well. A strong chocolatey flavor in my drink, as requested. And the sandwich was nice and cheesy, with savory sausage, bacon, and egg inside. The bacon was soggy, but I still enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The outdoor patio had a simple but inviting space for visitors, with table umbrellas for shade, which I took advantage of on this beautiful sunny day.

I brought my own cup and they were so kind to tell me that there's a $0.25 discount for using your own cup! I got the Iced Sparkling Passion Fruit Black tea. My Stanley is pretty large, but they offered to top off my cup with black tea at no charge since the drink is usually only sold in the size medium. I ordered it half sweet, but be sure to mix it around before you drink it. It's a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing!

It's amazing how this place has grown, and I'm glad to see what they've done over the years. Their roastery is based in Oakland, but they have started to branch out to Contra Costa and other areas of Alameda County, which I have found quite surprising. I decided that trying their newest store out in Walnut Creek would do it justice -- and indeed, it tastes just like the one I tried in Oakland -- vibes, coffee drink, and pastry, everything with it's local taste. I got an easy vanilla latte -- and a butter croissant. Both tasted just as yummy as they say in other foodies' reviews. The only downside is the guest patio next to their stop -- I wasn't even sure if I was even allowed to sit there. I wish they could have made it clearer for other patrons so that they wouldn't get confused like I did.

I originally went out looking for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Googled "good breakfast…read morenear me." This spot came up, and although my wife and I have driven past it many times, we've never stopped in. Today, I decided to finally give it a try. After looking through the Google photos, I changed my mind and ordered a breakfast plate instead of a sandwich. Parking was a little challenging. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.
