Cute coffee shop in the middle of a strip mall! We found this place on Yelp by searching for local coffee shops and this one stood out! The staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking in front and behind the cafe. It was well decorated, with big windows, an open-air bar, and cafe merchandise for sale. There was also a bulletin board advertising other businesses, a bathroom, and wifi options. It was a bit warmer this day, but there was a big fan in the front providing some air to the space. There was also a free or paid wifi option depending on the bandwidth one would need. I ordered the iced chai latte with caramel syrup and almond milk, which was a bit pricey for nearly $10. However, I will say it was delicious and made quickly. Probably the coolest thing here though was the co-working space. The front of the cafe had plenty of seating for people to talk or work. There was a hallway leading to the back room that had larger tables for bigger groups, implying more of a co-working or quieter space. Definitely appealing for people wanting a third space - will be back! read more

yk i have to give it to them for having housemate syrups. i always love a seasonal menu!! good summer drink variety. got the ube matcha latte. tried the matcha on its own, definitely doesn't have much depth and i don't think it's wildly great quality. but it's good for a latte! the ube matcha is pretty balanced. ube really comes out and still has the vanilla and matcha taste. though, $9 for a average quality matcha is a lot. i'll give it a dollar for house made syrup. but it's still a lot... staff was helpful in their recommendations. seemed like they really like their job! music isn't too loud. tons of seating and a lot of people were there chilling. nice natural light that isn't too direct. read more

I've stopped by Gratitude Coffee Bar several times and really enjoy the atmosphere. The chairs are comfortable, the space is inviting, and it's a nice spot to relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. The drinks are well made, and it's clear they care about quality. My only hesitation is the pricing. I typically order a 12 oz dirty chai to go, and with the added espresso shot it comes out to $10.25 ($7 for the chai plus $3.25 for the shot). The drink is good, but the espresso upcharge felt surprisingly high for a relatively small beverage. Overall, I enjoy supporting local coffee shops and appreciate the welcoming environment here. I'd happily give five stars if the pricing felt a little more in line with the drink size, but it's still a pleasant place to visit and worth checking out. read more

I came here with my partner to get coffee. We ordered an iced oat latte and an oat latte with honey at the cash register. Our drinks seemed to be taking a bit of time, but I thought nothing of it because it's normal for orders to come out a little slowly here. I noticed that the people who were behind us in line had received their drinks so I asked about our drinks at the coffee bar. They had no record of our order. The very same girl who I had placed our order with asked me if I had used a different name (?) or if I had placed my order online (??????). She seemed seriously confused/disbelieving that we had an order...even though she was the person who took it. Eventually she offered to start making our drinks but we had already wasted enough time so I asked for a refund. As I was getting my refund, our order miraculously appeared in their work queue. I get that sometimes orders are forgotten and there was a steady stream of customers, but the shop was not so busy that you would not remember the people who placed an order less than ten minutes prior. It was a bizarre interaction. Also, when I asked for a receipt for my refund the barista was unable to provide me one. Not cool. They offered us some drinks coupons for my next visit but I declined them because there won't be a next time. Hubby and I were driving around and stumbled in this cafe to just grab a drink. I ordered the Hot vanilla chai tea and hubby got the Iced hibiscus tea lemonade and we chose to enjoy our drinks in the cafe. The drinks were brought to us and I love how the tea was presented right down to the timer to let me know when it was steeped enough. The cafe is open and cozy. It looks like some people were studying and it was a nice vibe people were kind. When the tea was brought to me our seat neighbors had to ask what was ordered as they really like the hot tea presentation. I enjoyed my hot tea from the presentation, taste and smell. I did not even add anything to my tea it was just that good to me. I always like a good loose leaf tea. Hubby's drink was good from what he shared and I loved the colors on his drink too. Alright, so I'm mostly grateful... That's where I'm at. I'm an iced Americano pitch-black kinda gal. Or a café negro kinda mami. Either way, I like my coffee like I like my men: Black and skrong. So, I was a teeny smidgen just a bit let down when my coworker praised nearby Gratitude Coffee up and down, left and right, and when we finally stopped by, my iced cawwwfeee (insert my mother's distinct Flatbush accent here) was relatively lackluster for what I assumed was a frou-frou coffee shop. I'm from Oakland, and we know how to build a frou-frou coffeehouse if there ever was one, so I was expecting a bit more. But let's move on to the good, because I love an iridescent silver lining glistening from afar: - Yummy pastries (frangipane croissant, I'm looking at you!) - Pressed juices on deck. Are they charging you an extra heavy dollop for buying it there versus the heavy coinage that Pressed already makes you pawn out? Ya damn skippy. But, if you want that Probiotic Turmeric Lemonade, you better prepare to pay the dues to make it do what it does, sweet thang. - It's a nice workspace, and they have both interior seats and exterior small tables (super small: four tables total, two seats per table--but that's still more than a lot of spots!) All in all, this is more the kind of hub that I'd chill at to get some work done than a super specialty coffee shop that I'd run to for my favorite drink, but I'm also willing to bet there's plenty of delectable and delicious bevvies I haven't encountered solely because I am too entrenched in the thick sludge of black coffee. She didn't flat out so no but was so hesitant so I finally said ok fine no need. Then a minute later I saw that she left the coffee shop. Coffee shop located in a busy strip mall in Concord that includes lots of eateries. This coffee shop seems to be a very popular hang out spot as this place was packed during our visit. (Maybe because it was the holidays, but it seemed like some people were doing work here as well). They have a menu full of lots of classic caffeinated beverages as well as some that unique and fun. The baristas here are very friendly - I even was chatting with one for a bit where I was visiting from. I ended up ordering an eggnog latte and it was delicious while providing me what the caffeine kick that I needed. We didn't get to hang out since we were still doing a bit of holiday shopping, but this place definitely looks like you can spend some quality time there. Excited to try a new matcha place in east bay so a couple of friends and I stopped by Gratitude Coffee Bar. This was sadly one of the lesser matcha places I've been too. I personally had the pumpkin pie matcha which came with the sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin spice on top of the ice. I was excited to try their fall flavors which maybe was my mistake and their regular drinks are better. The matcha itself tasted super watered down. I couldn't really even taste any matcha nor pumpkin just mostly cinnamon and water. For almost $10 I was hoping for a better drink. My friend ordered the matcha chai and she had the same issue with hers. We all collectively agreed this matcha was probably not the best any of us had tried. The maple cinnamon latte was also subpar. It didn't taste watered down but it wasn't amazing. We did order a couple pastries which were good! The location itself was also very cute and spacious. There's lots of space for people who would like to sit down and get some work done. We did go on a Monday so it may not have been at its peak business. The workers were also nice when ordering. My recommendation; if you want to go to this place maybe just stick to the basic menu. read more

Originally came here to try their ube latte, but sadly it's only a seasonal item -- sad life! Still, Gratitude Coffee is a cool, hip spot with a relaxed vibe and a solid selection of drinks that aren't overly sweet (if you're looking for dessert-in-a-cup, Starbucks is your move). They also have a small but nice assortment of pastries, parfaits, eggs, kombucha, pressed juices, pressed shots, water, and Olipop sodas. I ended up with a caramel latte and cinnamon sugar toast. The latte was smooth and tasty; the toast was just okay -- basically a dry slice of sourdough with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Overall, a good coffee experience and a place I'd return to if I'm in the area -- next time I'll try a different drink and snack (hopefully the ube latte is back!). read more

The people working here are nice enough and the coffee shop is cute. My first visit I ordered a vanilla latte, which was meh. I was expecting it to taste better based on the reviews and hype I've heard from this place. I came again today and unfortunately it was another mediocre visit - ordered a cold brew, and paid extra for sugar free vanilla and for cold foam. The cold foam was barely there (not like their video on Instagram unfortunately) so it wasn't worth the extra charge. The green chile verde burrito I ordered was great but I ended up drinking only half of my cold brew before tossing it. After giving this place a few tries I don't think I'll be back. I had previously given 4 stars because I really wanted to love the shop despite a lack of warmth from the staff but this time I walked in a few minutes after opening and wasn't greeted, not even eye contact until I ordered. I was the only person in there with two team members-- a good morning would have sufficed... I then inquired about seasonal drinks because usually craft coffee shops keep their summer drinks until fall drinks roll in OR they communicate their specialties---NOPE they are in transition and just had a list of syrups with the interesting ones crossed out. No "what type of drink do you usually drink?" Or anything just deadpan faces. The only question asked was "is whole milk ok?" All in all the cost came up to $13 and the options for a tip were 20%, 18%, 15% and other. I gave 2 dollars because I usually tip per item but that felt too much for my experience. 15 dollars is more than I would have spent at the better coffee shops in San Jose. The lavender latte I got was good. The butter croissant too. I can't seem to shake the lack of hospitality and warmness experience at a place called Gratitude. The staff was so BLAH. I got espresso -- tried the specialty blend and the house blend. Both were well executed. The specialty blend (Dharma Espresso) was nutty and chocolatey. Smooth layers with a creamy mouthfeel. 4/5 The house blend (Tres Fuertes) carried some notes of dark chocolate bitterness but was dominated by acidity. Good layers, similar to the single origin, but maybe a little lighter on the body. A little too acidic for my taste. 3/5. It was my first time in so I didn't know what to expect. Pretty busy on a late Friday morning, but pleasantly surprised. Community focused environment (chamber of commerce meeting, students studying, families) with baristas who are happy to answer questions and give well wishes. Drinks came out quickly and there is a decent amount of seating inside and a couple seats outside. I opted for a seasonal drink and was shocked at how fast I drank it because it was so good (creamy, light, not too milky despite being half milk and half eggnog with espresso). Grateful for this spot (5/5 Stars) First coffee shop that I went to in concord after moving from alameda.  All I can I say is WOW. Everything I could ask for in a dream coffee shop. They have amazing coffee.  The place is extremely clean and well maintained. It has a very modern aesthetic but comfortable enough for you to come in and work.  They have wifi and you are to come here to study or work.  I came in and found a seat and got everything done. They workers also pay attention to you as a customer.  I sat down and the person who took my order also made my latte and walked it over to my table.  He didn't even ask for my name but memorized who I was and where I sat in the café.  I also love the live plants and huge windows that bring in natural light.  The place stays a nice cool temperature so it is also a great escape to the summer heat. This is a great start to my coffee journey here.  I will see where it takes me. read more

Gratitude Coffee Bar -- the perfect third space! I came around 8 PM on a Wednesday, and it was pretty empty -- just a few people working, studying, and chatting in the main café area. The quiet atmosphere made it especially peaceful, which was perfect for catching up on my books and my Yelp reviews. Walking in, the layout immediately feels spacious and refreshing -- it's different in the best way. There's ample seating in the front area, with enough room to spread out and not feel crowded. It definitely gives off lively café energy up front; I can totally see it getting busy during peak hours. Beyond the main area, there's a darling yet sizable lounge space in the back that's much more chill, steady, and quiet. It offers plenty of additional seating and cozy corners, along with a big whiteboard and a meeting table if you're planning something collaborative. There's also a sectioned-off playpen area if you want to bring your kids. I believe the lounge can be rented out too, which is a great option for small gatherings. The overall vibe is super clean and thoughtfully designed -- I'd describe the decor as eco-minimalist (if that's a thing?) with a focus on simplicity and calm. The lighting is bright but warm, so it never feels harsh or sterile. It strikes a balance between energizing and relaxing. Just beneath the front counter, there's a charming little section of books tucked away. I'm not sure if they're available to read -- you'd probably have to ask the staff -- but I'm curious to know, because there are definitely a few titles that have caught my eye or have been sitting on my wish list. When I walked up to the counter to order my drink, I was greeted with a warm smile by the employee working the register -- he was super charismatic and friendly. He was happy to answer my questions about the ingredients in a few of the drinks, which I really appreciated. I ended up ordering the coconut matcha, which is made with a coconut water base and topped with a layer of velvety matcha coconut cream. I stirred the layers together and took a sip. The matcha flavor didn't really come through -- the coconut water is strong and kind of overpowers everything else. The cream tastes like a coconut-based cream with matcha powder blended in, so the coconut flavor dominates. So if you're looking for a bold matcha drink, this isn't it, but it's super refreshing, light, and delicious. Definitely a great summer option. Cute and crowded. They had a nice holiday backdrop for pics. They also sell matcha affagato! Staff is bubbly and friendly. Drinks came out hot, there were no sleeves by the pick up. It's a good addition to the plaza. I swear I saw a DJ there one day. It looks like they may have an outside or an extended area through the door that leads to a hallway? Upon entering the coffee bar I could smell coffee brewing. It smelled so good. The coffee shop was bustling with people and I noticed people sitting everywhere so I sat outside. My friend had a black coffee, and I asked for a Diet Coke. The barista pointed to some soda which they said were the closest thing. It didn't take long for them to brew our coffee order. And the soda I had was unfortunately flat. My friend gulped down their coffee so I'm sure it was good. The workers are extremely nice and this place is also dog friendly :) I ordered a matcha coconut and banana matcha, both of which were yummy! The matcha flavor wasn't strong but the cold foam is delicious. The only down side is that the prices are expensive:( my matcha coconut was $8.25 and my matcha banana was 10.70. I'm not sure why it rang up to be that much when the price online says 8.50? My wife and I stopped by Gratitude Coffee Bar for an afternoon coffee around 3:30 p.m. and the cafe was pretty busy: lots of customers were working on their laptops at various tables inside. I ordered a cortado and my wife got an iced matcha latte. Keep in mind alternative milks here are $1.25 extra; they don't warn you ahead of time and it's written in tiny font on the menu so it's easy to miss. Our total came out to $15.64 for two drinks, before tip, so drinks here are by no means cheap. I enjoyed the nuttiness of my oat milk cortado and appreciated the flower petal latte art on top. I can't comment too much about the matcha latte however, since I wouldn't consider myself a matcha connoisseur. Overall, Gratitude Coffee Bar has great tasting, but pricey, espresso drinks.
