Diggers is a local hidden gem. My barber, a concord native, stated that Diggers Diner had the best burgers in town. With such a statement, I had to give it a try. I ordered the "20" burger as was the waitresses recommendation since it had a little spice and some garlic in it. My wife and I had breakfast here because it was recommended by the Hyundai rep while we waited for the car to get maintenance done. We were immediately seated. Our orders were taken in a timely manner. The waitress was nice and helpful. We waited about 15 to 20 mins for our food. We were told that there were issues with the kitchen staff, new staff being trained, etc. Honestly, she stated it was a bad day for them, so we should have been told that prior to ordering so we could have decided to go somewhere else. When the food came, my bacon was burnt (I asked for crispy, not burnt), and my French fries were cold. How does food that takes so long to find out come out cold and wrong? My wife's biscuit was together in the top and broken up on the bottom AND served on a dirty plate. We sent all the above back. He country potatoes had no seasoning on them, and the omelet looked on cooked on the egg portion. The food and cheese that was supposed to be cooked in the inside because it is an omelet was not put together as an omelet. It was like the egg just served as a blanket. She did not eat the majority of her food. This does not happen often. The biscuit was good the 2nd time. My bacon came back the same way, I ate around the burnt areas. The bacon was salty. I visited Concord to see my Mom for the day. Since it's difficult for her to leave the house, I decided to order from a local restaurant and bring the food to her. I placed two online orders for fish & chips and picked them up about 30 minutes later. The restaurant was busy and clearly popular among locals. A friendly staff member greeted me and happily told me we got the last fish and chips order for the day. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I love Breakfast all day long. We took my brother and some friends to Digger's for lunch but ended up getting Breakfast for lunch. Although probably not the healthiest, Diggers has good comfort food that tastes good. Two of us had the Chicken Fried Steak. I had mine with scrambled eggs, hash browns, and the other person had eggs over medium and country potatoes, two others had the Diggers Special with Country Potatoes, one person had a Cheesy Omelet with country potatoes and the other had Rib Eye Steak with hash browns. The Chicken Fried Steak was tasty, flavored, cooked just right and gravy was spot on. Everyone loved their potatoes, one of the best hash browns I've had. Diggers special scramble was tasty, cheese omelet was good, sadly the rib eye was over cooked, well done instead of medium (disappointing because it was the highest priced item on the menu). We were very appreciative that they were to happy to serve the 3 eggs prepared two different ways with the rib eye steak. Excellent customer service. Everyone enjoyed their food and we all would come back for the breakfasts and try the lunch items on the menu too. Family friendly with attentive nice staff and a robust menu with something for everyone. Comfort food the way it should be. A fine meal by all means but then I had the audacity to also order: Grits - 3 - like a guy can't possibly get enough starch. Unfortunately, these grits need some salt and were just a tad thick. I also suspect that the butter on top may have been margarine. It certainly wasn't creamy. Boothill Steak Salad - 5 - She loved, loved, loved her salad. Unlike the picture, it came with several Onion Rings and lots of Steak. The base salad was very simple, but everything combined made her very happy. She too was greedy and ordered: Tater Tots - 5 - Yup, regular ole Tater Tots. Sometimes you just get a craving that you have to satisfy. Dave came by our table and welcomed us, talked about the concept, what he used to do for a living before opening the diner and just chatted a bit. Came in bright and early Saturday, was seated right away. Took a while for server to come around and take our order. I got the chicken fried steak that comes with hashbrowns, eggs, and toast. Really delicious! It was fresh and crispy even with the gravy on the top of it. Was a large portion and had to get a box to go. Classic diner place with those vintage vibes. As a guy in food service my job is quality control its kinda nuts they didnt catch a green patch of mold on the bread it sticks out like a sore thumb. We went there for Father's Day so they were extra busy. This was my first time visiting this place. They have a wide variety of foods breakfast lunch, and dinner. I just wanted a burger. Our waiter came & took our orders, brought us our drinks and being it was Father's Day. It took longer to get our food than usual (I took that into consideration). The restaurant has a very kickback feel, a 90s vibe to it. On the tables, local businesses have their business cards printed on the tables, so I'll give you something to look at all over the walls are lots of paintings and interesting things to look at. The burger I got was really good. They don't come with fries. You'll have to order them separately. (one order was enough for two people). This place is family owned. Digger's Diner is a longstanding Concord institution that has been around for decades. Located in a small strip mall at the corner of Farm Bureau Rd and Willow Pass Rd, this classic car themed restaurant is a popular gathering spot for many locals. I met up with my old partner KY for breakfast here on 02/06/2024. We walked in at around 10:30am and it was already busy. We were prompted greeted and seated in the side room. The interior was clean, and the appreciation of classic cars could be seen in their decorations. The vibe totally reminded me of the old Hubcaps in Walnut Creek. Our server, a young blonde woman, came by with menus and took our drink order. After some deliberation, I opted for the Chicken Fried Steak Omelette while KY got the Mini Breakfast. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. The Chicken Fried Steak Omelette was made with three eggs and a copious amount of chopped chicken fried steak. It was good except I thought the country gravy could have used a bit more salt. The hash browns were very good. They had just the right amount of crispiness. Service we received was exceptional. Our server was friendly and welcoming, and she made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The owner needs to give her a raise! :-D With T/T, the meal was about $35. Delish! The garlic cheese fries were so crisp and flavorful! They were well seasoned with garlic so if you don't like garlic to that extent, be prepared! We love garlic so it was perfect. The breakfast sandwich had chicken fried steak, hash brown, cheese and egg. It was on sourdough and my my my!! I think what topped it off was the beautiful and friendly staff! Everyone was so kind and friendly which I feel is rare these days. The coffee was also delicious. I've had several breakfast spots that were great places but the coffee tasted burnt. What's good? The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant has a fun aesthetic without being oppressive. What's bad? The food. There seems to be a trend that these retro-throwback restaurants have pretty poor food. The price is about the same as you'd pay any where else. As for quality, it's just the bottom of the Sysco barrel. Pre-cooked sausage links, that they forgot to heat up, bland eggs, and a boring hash. It's been a while since I left a review for one of my favorite breakfast spots that I would go to since I was little. Anytime I have visitors coming from out of town and they say they want to go to breakfast, this is usually my first recommendation. One because it's so close to my house and two is because their food and customer service are always so good. So my family came to visit Hawaii and I brought them to Diggers. Of course their was a wait, usually because that's how good they are. We waited probably about 10 mins, which isn't bad considering we had 7 of us. Once they sat us, they were pretty quick on taking our order as usual. Everyone got their food, and no one had complaints they of course, loved everything. Well, while we were packing our faces, the owner came over to talk to us, lol. He usually stops by to chat with me every time I've gone, lol. He's hilarious and has the funniest jokes. He loved the fact that my family was all the way out from Hawaii, and his place was the first we went to eat. The fact that the owner still walks around and checks on his customers shows how great this gem is. You can't beat amazing food and customer service. By the way if you don't know where the name Digger's came from just ask the owner lol. 5 stars across as usual. read more

Me and my coworkers first time here and I can't believe it took us this long to get here. We always pass by here to go home and the parking lot is always full. I had the Blue Bacon Burger with BallPark fries. I am such a sucker for a Blue Cheese burger that I have to try it everywhere I go and it did not disappoint me at all. Everything on my burger was really fresh and good. The toppings on the burger was clean and refreshing when eating it. The BallPark fries were really BOMB! The parmesan and garlic were holding on to dear life on those fries. I could probably eat 2 more baskets - LOL! Me and my coworker both agreed, that this place is a go-to for lunch for us. I will say that the service was really slow on our end and we had to make sure we were out of there on time to clock back in, but I can't let it over power the fact that the cooks who made my food, DID MY BURGER JUSTICE. Solid employees, and the owner even spots by the tables and says hi to everyone. They do military discount which is also very kind of them.
