Avo-I-Am sandwich on a French Roll, no pepperoncini, nor onion.
    Martha G.

I ordered to go the Avo-I-Am sandwich because I wanted to try the homemade roast turkey. It was very delicious and filling. My only qualm is that I ordered my sandwich on a Dutch Crunch Roll and I received a French Roll. Were they out? I would have preferred a Sourdough Roll.

This is a new sandwich shop in downtown Martinez. I was really hoping to be dazzled, but instead it landed quite flat. I ordered a Classic sandwich = homemade roasted turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo WAS suppose to have Swiss cheese, but they were out, they did offer pepper jack cheese, no thank you. Overall the sandwich lacked flavor, almost flavorless. I can appreciate the homemade roasted turkey, but once on the bread it needs seasoning, salt, pepper, how about cranberry sauce of sorts. In short it just wasn't for me. Service was fine. Atmosphere was casual, little sandwich shop with a few tables to sit at inside.

    This is ridiculous

Ordered from Uber Eats. Sandwich was all bread. Sent pics to complain, no help. Called business 6 times, no answer. DO NOT ORDER OR BUY I wish I could rate a zero. 0

Headed out to downtown in a day off on a walk with the dogs. Remembered that new sandwich place just opened up in market and main. If you come in from the back patio area and walk past the bar inside, it's right to your left. If your party is sitting outside they have actual menus. There are about 10-12 different sandwiches, Including pb&j! We got the turkey, bacon, and ham and the other was a Rueben sandwich. The time from order to when it came out seemed a bit long. But once it came out, it truly looked like they made it with love. On the Reuben there was an interesting dressing. It was on the sweeter side and there was a lot of it... made the sandwich a bit soggy. The other sandwich looked delicious and came with actual turkey, not processed. The bread was soft but there was a bit too much of that iceberg... not my favorite.. hopefully maybe they will switch to Romain. The prices range around 14.99 to 15.99 per sandwhich but it's definitely worth that price. This place is a great added feature to Market and Main. I hope they stay cause I would definitely be back to try the other sandwhiches!

Good sandwiches! I stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered the Angela sandwich on Dutch crunch. It comes with fresh roasted turkey and soft bread. Great place for a sandwich with better quality than the chains.

I tried their Teriyaki chicken sandwich for lunch today and am officially obsessed! Ordered at the counter and took it to go to eat at home. Service was friendly and prompt. The sandwich was super flavorful and a nice size. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. They have a nice indoor seating area if you wanted to eat there and are also available on delivery apps. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Stopped by Zula's in Downtown Martinez today for the first time. Ordered a tuna sandwich on Dutch Crunch. Sandwich was bomb. Will be back! :)

First time trying this place. Happy to see there's a family owned sandwich place in the area. I had their turkey sandwich (The Marina) with extra cranberry sauce and everything on it. Delicious!! I also got some breakfast bagels, yum!! Service was fast and friendly. The place was tidy with a few tables inside. It's good to eat in a place run by a family. You can definitely feel the hard work and care they put into it. I can't wait to try other items on their menu. I'll definitely be back soon!

Nope. I thought this would be on a roll instead I got white wonder bread. Did not taste good. Plain. I ended up tossing out. Won't be back.

Delicious/ fresh / and great customer service. Great sandwiches are hard to find, but this place got it right. Will definitely be back.

Fresh and delicious! I had the Zula's and the turkey was thick and so much better than usual deli turkey. Easy and tasty experience.

A worker named alba or Elba was extremely rude to me and my little girls. She got so embarrassed and shock that she even tried to tell the lady that that wasn't true. Anyway, YOUR EMPLOYEE CANNOT BE DEFAMING PEOPLE and making them look and feel HORRIBLE. P's Way is the only way…read more That's literally what I'd tell someone if they were confused about what kind of wings to get. You look at the description and you almost wonder if all of that is a little...too much. I'm here to tell you that it's not. It's the only way. There's just something about the zing and tang of combining both the Lemon Pepper with the Buffalo sauce that takes the flavors to a whole new level. On top of that you get a hint of sweetness with the hot honey. These are some of my favorite wings in town. Possibly actual favorite. I need to come back and have them again really soon. But just know that if you are wings fan, you gotta try P's Way. The Fish and Chips and Mac were also good. The Fish seemed a little less flavorful than I thought it was gonna be. The fries made it up for them though. I couldn't stop munching on those. The Mac was solid. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a just really good dish that was straight to the point. I just obviously was super obsessed with these wings when I went. The inside is very homey. Has a more publike vibe. I walk in and almost imagine that I'm on the water or at a pier or something. The people working here are usually very nice. The very last time I came here a guy took my order and forgot one of our items but I think he was new. Luckily this girl with a long blonde ponytail who had served us before asked us if we got everything. When we told her about our missing item she apologized a whole bunch and made everything better. Oh and of course they have amazing beers. Our favorites are the rotation of Dark Beers, Mexican Lagers and Ciders that they have. We have yet to ever have a bad pour. Im pretty sure if you like beer there should be something for everyone. Even Wine slushies if you don't care for beer. Hillside was one of me and my wife's places we would go to when we shortly lived in Martinez. Even though we are a bridge away, we can't wait to come back sometime soon.

Unfortunately, every visit has only confirmed our first impression. BAD. Yes, they finally serve beer in actual glassware, which is the bare minimum for a "taproom". That's the only real improvement. The service is still painfully slow and consistently chaotic. The staff often seems completely checked out, distracted, or disorganized. Simple requests aren't followed, communication is poor, and every visit feels like nobody really knows what's going on. The food has gone completely downhill. The menu barely resembles what made this place popular in the first place. We used to come specifically for the hot dogs because they were genuinely decent. Now they don't even serve hot dogs anymore! There's no kids' menu, the menu changes constantly, and it feels like they've completely lost their identity. Martinez is full of families, but we've never fel welcome here. It's not a place we'd recommend bringing kids. Between the lack of family-friendly options, the indifferent service, and the overall atmosphere, it just doesn't feel inviting. (It's a place for drunk adults with bad appetites) They're also no longer open on Mondays, which was one of the biggest reasons we used to stop by. (Their opening schedule is very inconsistent and open and close whenever they please) At this point, it's expensive, inconsistent, and simply not worth it. We gave this place every opportunity to win us back, but each visit has been more disappointing than the last. There are far too many great restaurants and taprooms nearby to keep wasting time and money here. We won't be back!!
