I had the chicken breast sandwich with extra pesto mayo, lettuce, red onion, and tomatoes on soft ciabatta--absolutely perfect! On the side, I tried the potato salad (which Joey highly recommended), and let me just say, he nailed it. I'm pretty picky when it comes to potato salad, but this one was spot-on: not too sweet, with tender potatoes and great flavor. To top it off, I grabbed a key lime gourmet soda from their awesome wall of beverages --so fun and refreshing. Joey was super friendly and helpful throughout, which made the experience even better. We loved everything, including the fun ambiance of the entire place and can't wait to come back!

We went there during lunch I was able to make my own sandwich and my husband got the tri sandwich the food came out fast and it was good.

    Italian...so much meat!

Sandwiches can be hit or miss here. While plenty of toppings and fresh ingredients sometimes the sandwiches are just missing something. Have had a few different sandwiches here, life of tri, California dreaming and Italian. The life of tri needs more tri tip, always seems to be skimpy. The california dreaming is SO good, add bacon, you won't regret it. The Italian needs more sauce of some kind, it was very dry and the bread was a bit tough this time. Nestled in downtown martinez and been here a long long time, they do a great business. They offer more than just awesome sandwiches, they have a whole wall of random and old school bottle codes, pasta salads etc. Sometimes parking can be hard, especially on Sundays during the farmers market but they are on both doordash and grubhub.

I got the Italian #1. It was packed full of meat and the roll was soft. It was delicious. I also got the Greek salad, it was too oily. The lady at the counter was really friendly (service). Ambiance: there were a few tables inside and out. There looked to be a stage for bands to play. I liked how they had all different ki of drinks: fountain sodas, can drinks and bottle drinks (unique one). Also a wide variety of chips. I'll come back.

Our first and last visit. It is nice that they are open earlier in the morning while most other locations are still sleeping. Plenty of seating in this spacious place. They had a daily Po Boy sandwich advertised which we ordered along with a bottle of soda from their huge selection. $14 and change plus tip. There are a couple of nice enough kids running the place today. The Problem with younger non owners running an establishment is they don't always look at a new customer as a potential repeat customer. We drove miles to Martinez specifically to eat here. We received the PO Boy. It looked exactly ZERO like the picture advertised both in ingredients and size. I found out they have an all day buy a bottle or can drink full price and get the second for a nickel. Cashier could have mentioned that when we ordered. So the ham and turkey sandwich was good enough but that was what not what we wanted.

Pretty mid sandwhich. Dutch crunch had no crunch and was more of a soft roll with too much bread. Still looking for the meat on my sandwhich

Menu for their specialties and customizable sandwich!

Flagged Content: Top notch sandwiches. Amazing service. Incredible ambience. But my favorite part is the variety of beverages. Love at first bite. I came for an open mic. The sandwich was the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Shelby was incredible. Personality, sandwich, making skills, she had it all. Luigi is the owner. It felt like a family restaurant. I love the support. I loved how they supported local comedy. The stage could not have been more adorable. I felt like it really encourage the creativity. It was fun. Plenty of seating. Outdoor seating available. Excellent outdoor ambience. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

The clerks were very nice and helpful as this was my first time here. The sandwich was okay. Not my favorite sandwich but it did what it was suppose to do.

    Where's the avocado? :(

Not worth the price in my opinion. The only major kudos I'd give, is their sourdough bread was extremely soft. -.5 star for practically no avocado, though I paid extra. -.5 star for mediocre service. The girls making the sandwiches seem like they can't be bothered with. The younger guy working there was nice. -.5 star for no cookies that day. That was really the reason why I came here - I hear they're delicious! -.5 star because the sandwich was just meh, especially for the cost. $20.55 for a sandwich, chips and a drink. I hope to give this place another chance in the future, but I left feeling like the entire experience was...meh.

A staple to downtown Martinez. Great quality made to order sandwiches. It gets crowded for lunch with the court house rush so we find it helpful to order in advance. The sandwiches are a good size with a nice ratio of meat and toppings. Everything seems nice and fresh.

Brief Summary: - The soda bottle shelf was a unique feature in the restaurant - Indoor and outdoor seating - Coffee is not sour - You can choose a sandwich topping from the menu or take a card and customize your own In the last rounds of our trip, took a nice walk around Martinez's old town and ready to head home, we wanted to have lunch. After discussing with my relative we decided on a sandwich and chose this one. The interior is wide with a stage in the corner for future evening live band performances. There is a nice family-owned legacy atmosphere felt through as there was a wall of photos of plastered along with a memo to share its history. One area I particularly enjoyed was the soda bottle shelf. This took a whole wall as well, and there were many different types of soda bottles, most I have never seen before. The weather was cold that day, but if I visit here next time maybe I'll try one of them. There was a countertop located at the center, where there were pieces of paper to write down your own customized sandwich. For our first visit; however, we decided by choosing an item from the menu. We picked the Luigi's Italian and a cup of coffee. The order was pretty swift; it arrived within a few minutes with the coffee. The sandwich was very good. The bread was on the tough side and took some chewing, but it held on the toppings and sauce well. The sandwich didn't get moist.

Umm... Please go here and support this business!…read more Came here on a Monday morning and it wasn't crowded at all. I was seated right away and they came to take my order and make recommendations quickly. It wasn't long before you could smell the food coming to your table. The food was presented nicely and you can smell everything on your plate. The sweetness of the waffles and french toast, the flavoring from the chorizo. You eat with your nose here first! The food was fudging delicious! So good, and I am not a person to usually finish breakfast when I go out to eat! I ate everything and pretty much licked my plate clean! Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff was extremely nice on top of that!! They are amazing! So good and so delicious. Check them out if you are in the area! This is also a great place for families, they have coloring pages and crayons for the young ones!

We lucked out and found good parking, but I can see if it's busy downtown-parking will be challenging. Downtown Martinez sure has changed and looks good! We sat in a booth in the corner with a ripped leather bench, but I believe that is due to the many patrons this place has-great wear & tear. Seating & dining is adequate; a homey feel. The staff acknowledged us when we first got there. We went Thursday afternoon and while it was not packed, there were a lot of people in and out of the restaurant. There were also regulars there. The ambience was good! There were many options on the menu to choose from. Portions were good and hearty. Service was fast! The food was delicious and very filling! We ordered funnel cake fries to go! Couldn't pass that up! This is a wonderful brunch spot! We definitely will be back again!

They give you a little extra baguette on soups and sandwiches, being a bread lover, that's a plus (though I shouldn't be eating all the bread). Service is okay. Expectations are between a fast food place and a sandwich shop. They are nice, but nothing over the top or exceptional about it. The prices are a little high, but what isn't in the Bag Area. The lack of pictures and reviews should've told me everything I needed to know. I ordered the ham and turkey on a wheat sub with added bacon and it cost nearly $17. From the pictures, I thought I'd be getting more food for that price but I couldn't be more wrong. First, even though it says sub, it's not actually a sub or a wheat roll. It's just 2 thin slices of wheat bread. I don't think they know what a sub or a roll is tbh. Second, even though it's just a slice of wheat bread, apparently you only get half of the bread or half of the sandwich. They really go through the effort to cut the bread in half and overcharge significantly for what you get. You're telling me I just paid $17 to just get a half sandwich? It's lowkey depressing and I was still hungry after eating it. Just look at the picture I added, my hand is literally bigger than the sandwich. Third, the filling was barely there. Honestly felt like I was eating a tomato sandwich like I'm in poverty. This felt like a poverty meal but I paid $17 for it which is unbelievable. I even paid an extra $1.55 for bacon yet it only came with 1 piece of bacon, they can probably say 2 pieces but they clearly cut 1 normal piece of bacon in half. If they're charging $1.55 for bacon, you should definitely get more than 2 half pieces. Even when I picked up my order, workers were just standing there and I had to make the effort to tell them why I'm there rather than them asking me if I have a order for pickup. I even gave them a minute or so to ask me if I have a pickup order since they weren't thay busy but no one asked. Honestly just go to any other sandwich place. Save yourself the money and disappointment. I'm literally disappointed in myself for thinking I was gonna get more food for that price and this embarrassing sandwich really made me question life. Like for $17 I could've bought all the ingredients and make that same half sandwich like 10x or more.
