Pastrami sandwich was very good love the large selection of craft sodas. Haven't seen one like that anywhere. Can never hate on a family run business that serves great food read more

Food was good & made to order, but I wish I would've asked for more mayo and mustard, it's OK for it to drip down your arm a little! LOL Service was quick and the ambience was chill, I think we got there just before the lunch rush. We were grabbing our sandwiches to go wasn't too busy. I'll be back because they are a couple more things I'd like to try, especially a couple of bags of chips and different flavored pops. read more

Delicious ingredients. Kinda pricey for just a deli sandwhich and drink. But it was a hefty meal. Very satisfying. Besides the price, my only complaint is the fact that it's so hot in there. My partner and I went today, already summer, but we were sweating while waiting for our lunch. Was very uncomfortable. Had to eat outside. read more

This is my favorite deli in the bay. Good selection of breads, they use boar's head meats and cheeses, and their house sandwiches are excellent. Salami boys, cow in the rye, a lot of great options. This is where I go for a sandwich. read more

I had the chicken breast sandwich with extra pesto mayo, lettuce, red onion, and tomatoes on soft ciabatta--absolutely perfect! On the side, I tried the potato salad (which Joey highly recommended), and let me just say, he nailed it. I'm pretty picky when it comes to potato salad, but this one was spot-on: not too sweet, with tender potatoes and great flavor. To top it off, I grabbed a key lime gourmet soda from their awesome wall of beverages --so fun and refreshing. Joey was super friendly and helpful throughout, which made the experience even better. We loved everything, including the fun ambiance of the entire place and can't wait to come back! read more

Food is okay No napkins Some nasty old woman (patron) told my kids to use their inside voices while we were sitting outside (weirdass clientele) They charged us 5 per person to dine there - WTF? They should tell us. Bathroom has no soap, no toilet paper etc. napkins not refilled Benches outside were broken and ripped holes in our kids pants. Nope not coming again. read more

Sandwiches can be hit or miss here. While plenty of toppings and fresh ingredients sometimes the sandwiches are just missing something. Have had a few different sandwiches here, life of tri, California dreaming and Italian. The life of tri needs more tri tip, always seems to be skimpy. The california dreaming is SO good, add bacon, you won't regret it. The Italian needs more sauce of some kind, it was very dry and the bread was a bit tough this time. Nestled in downtown martinez and been here a long long time, they do a great business. They offer more than just awesome sandwiches, they have a whole wall of random and old school bottle codes, pasta salads etc. Sometimes parking can be hard, especially on Sundays during the farmers market but they are on both doordash and grubhub. read more

l walked in to order a sandwich and in the middle of my order call and blatantly ignored me. One of her coworkers came over and asked been serviced after waiting 15 minutes. I told her no that I hadn't ordered but due to the way I was received I would not recommend this place. I ended up walking across the street to a restaurant to order food to go instead unfortunately it's a very poor service. I never been to the sandwich place. I just GPS it but I don't recommend this place based off of my experience. read more

Little high on the price, quality produce and meat. Sandwich was a lil dry and lacked flavor. Not bad, wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

I got the Italian #1. It was packed full of meat and the roll was soft. It was delicious. I also got the Greek salad, it was too oily. The lady at the counter was really friendly (service). Ambiance: there were a few tables inside and out. There looked to be a stage for bands to play. I liked how they had all different ki of drinks: fountain sodas, can drinks and bottle drinks (unique one). Also a wide variety of chips. I'll come back. read more

Our first and last visit. It is nice that they are open earlier in the morning while most other locations are still sleeping. Plenty of seating in this spacious place. They had a daily Po Boy sandwich advertised which we ordered along with a bottle of soda from their huge selection. $14 and change plus tip. There are a couple of nice enough kids running the place today. The Problem with younger non owners running an establishment is they don't always look at a new customer as a potential repeat customer. We drove miles to Martinez specifically to eat here. We received the PO Boy. It looked exactly ZERO like the picture advertised both in ingredients and size. I found out they have an all day buy a bottle or can drink full price and get the second for a nickel. Cashier could have mentioned that when we ordered. So the ham and turkey sandwich was good enough but that was what not what we wanted. read more

Flagged Content: Top notch sandwiches. Amazing service. Incredible ambience. But my favorite part is the variety of beverages. Love at first bite. I came for an open mic. The sandwich was the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Shelby was incredible. Personality, sandwich, making skills, she had it all. Luigi is the owner. It felt like a family restaurant. I love the support. I loved how they supported local comedy. The stage could not have been more adorable. I felt like it really encourage the creativity. It was fun. Plenty of seating. Outdoor seating available. Excellent outdoor ambience. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend. read more

Not worth the price in my opinion. The only major kudos I'd give, is their sourdough bread was extremely soft. -.5 star for practically no avocado, though I paid extra. -.5 star for mediocre service. The girls making the sandwiches seem like they can't be bothered with. The younger guy working there was nice. -.5 star for no cookies that day. That was really the reason why I came here - I hear they're delicious! -.5 star because the sandwich was just meh, especially for the cost. $20.55 for a sandwich, chips and a drink. I hope to give this place another chance in the future, but I left feeling like the entire experience was...meh. read more

Brief Summary: - The soda bottle shelf was a unique feature in the restaurant - Indoor and outdoor seating - Coffee is not sour - You can choose a sandwich topping from the menu or take a card and customize your own In the last rounds of our trip, took a nice walk around Martinez's old town and ready to head home, we wanted to have lunch. After discussing with my relative we decided on a sandwich and chose this one. The interior is wide with a stage in the corner for future evening live band performances. There is a nice family-owned legacy atmosphere felt through as there was a wall of photos of plastered along with a memo to share its history. One area I particularly enjoyed was the soda bottle shelf. This took a whole wall as well, and there were many different types of soda bottles, most I have never seen before. The weather was cold that day, but if I visit here next time maybe I'll try one of them. There was a countertop located at the center, where there were pieces of paper to write down your own customized sandwich. For our first visit; however, we decided by choosing an item from the menu. We picked the Luigi's Italian and a cup of coffee. The order was pretty swift; it arrived within a few minutes with the coffee. The sandwich was very good. The bread was on the tough side and took some chewing, but it held on the toppings and sauce well. The sandwich didn't get moist. read more

Sandwich was good. However, the tables on the music area were covered with wrinkled table cloths . Some of the tables had table cloths others did not. The salt and pepper shakers were greasy. Absolutely delighted with seeing the Luigi Deli truck in the parking lot of the Power Sports Academy today when attending a basketball tournament. Needed a little something different and healthier from what was offered at the gym's concession stand. Fortunate to meet Luigi himself at the truck and he offered up a tidbit about the history of Martinez and suggested various stores to visit in Martinez's historic town center. Hope to see the truck the next time I'm at a basketball tournament at PSA. read more

Rating the food is always my first priority in any evaluation. I was only in town (Martinez) for my grandsons soccer game but if I lived near Luigi's it definitely would be my "go to" deli! Following the soccer game my grandson, his parents and grandparents along with our dogs enjoyed various sandwiches, salads, drinks...especially enjoyed buy a beer and get the second one for .05 cents! The service was top notch and the ambiance on the outdoor grass patio with our dogs was perfect! Before leaving we revisited the deli and bought some ready to eat Rigatoni and beet salad along with their delicious bread rolls for tonight's dinner. Definitely will return when we are in town again! read more

What a cool place to get a sandwich. I got soup and a sandwich. The soup was tasty and well seasoned. I got a ham sandwich with veggies on it. I was very impressed. Older gentleman working behind the counter was very helpful. He mentioned getting the combo and that was a great idea. I will go back for sure. Excellent spot for lunch. Only criticism, customers are pretty messy leaving trash under the tables and staff is behind in cleaning up. No big deal, place was clean otherwise. I'll go back for sure. read more

If Martin Scorsese ever made a movie in Martinez, a gangster epic probably called "Carquinez Goodfellas", there would need to be a scene at Luigi's where the main character would be wearing his gold chains and wife beater and drinking a bottle of one of the 200+ sodas they sell here (photo: https://bit.ly/3UUG4PA). Yeah, it's quite a display. Good job, Luigi. But I was here for something to eat, paisan, and there were plenty of sandwiches to choose from like a grilled chicken wrap called When in Rome or The Salami Boys with turkey and salami on a sourdough roll. I'm sure Bobby De Niro and Joe Pesci would gobble down those boys, but I was more interested in the salads though. I found a satisfying one in the $9.99 Cobb Salad, and I actually think it was Luigi himself who assembled the robust salad himself. It had all the necessary ingredients - grilled chicken, bacon, egg, bleu cheese, and a thick bleu cheese dressing (photo: https://bit.ly/3E80SNV). Good stuff but now Marty needs to get his shot of Bobby. Action! "You talkin' to me?... YOU TALKIN' TO ME?... Dem Carquinez Straits ain't big enough for da both of us!" (SLAP!) FOOD - 4 stars...ba-da-boom, ba-da-bing...a good Cobb salad AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...solid workaday deli with shelves of pop SERVICE - 4 stars...hey Luigi! TOTAL - 4 stars...YOU TALKIN' TO ME? Walt here from Walt's Adventures! My current adventure has me at the Trunk O Treat Halloween gathering in Martinez, California. Let me tell you about another hidden gem in Martinez, California...Luigi's Deli. The first thing that caught my eye was their outside eating area. It sits outside in a covered area at the side of the building so as to provide shade. Their menu for sandwiches was quite extensive having offered 5 menus filled with their favorite sandwich designs. However, when in doubt, one can order a customized sandwich using their order form. Their Tri tip #44 and also their Turkey sandwich #16 were particularly good. The true test was a customized bacon and cheese sandwich for my daughter. ""This is delicious." I agree completely. What is also impressive was a ginormously large selection of bottle and canned sodas they have along a wall. Words cannot describe the wide selection. If I'm ever in or nearby to Martinez, California and want a great tasting sandwich in a quiet spot, I know where to find one. It's called Luigi's Deli. read more

One of the best delis in the East Bay. Great selection of Boars Head meats and cheeses. Great selection of rolls sliced breads too. Several specialty sandwiches on the menu, but I like that you can build your own from their paper menus. I love the pesto mayo and would suggest for anyone looking to spice something up. Tons of drinks to choose from including beer, soda, waters, juices and more. Nice selection of chips and sides. Good location to have an afternoon snack or lunch with indoor and outdoor seating. The line was crazy long, although it was the lunch hour. Way too much bread to meat ratio. Ended up having to take the top part of the roll off so that it was more than just a mouthful of bread roll. This place came highly recommend but I just don't get it. Sorry. read more

I was in the Downtown area doing errands, and wanted a quick bite, I had sen a short line and decided to order a Sammie and a suds for Lunch. I like that they had a Dutch Crunch bread selection and I had ordered a Scarface #3 with a Deschutes Fresh Haze, They had a few tables inside and a couple of patio seats. The sandwich was ready pretty quick and it was really filling. I had only ate 1/2 and took the rest home. They have quite a few beers on draft and a few in HH tubs and coolers.
