Not impressed spent nearly $20 sandwich on Dutch bread was old not fresh. I would not visit again I expect the bread to not be old at noon

Went in on Halloween and met my friend for lunch. It was busy but the service is always efficient and courteous. They have lots of their own specialty sandwiches and all of them great but today I choose to make my own. You get a little pad with all the choices to check off. You choose your bread, meat/s, condiments, toppings, etc. I decided on a tri tip with horseradish cheddar on a sourdough roll, with chips and a cherry Coke Zero. They offer a gazillion different flavors of sodas there (okay made I'm exaggerating a little). They offer different salads as well. I was wanting something crunchy so I went with the chips. I couldn't eat the whole sandwich that day. Thank goodness! Because the next morning I had the other half for breakfast. It think it might have even been better than the first day. This place has been there forever and the owner loves what he does and it shows in the quality of his food and who he hires to work for him. I love this place and even though I don't live near there anymore I will always go back for a great sandwich from Luigi's Deli in Martinez. read more

WHAT A DAMN SANDWICH!!! Ordered online for lunch while I was in town for a work training. I'm so glad I did! These are some well made deli sandwiches I tell ya. I believe it is family owned which I love and always support. My sandwich was ready as soon as I came in so service seems quick and efficient. Huge place too so you can bring the whole crew. Classic deli joint and I love the local, old fashioned feel. They have a wall full of photos as you walk in. You can either order off their menu or custom your sandwich with the paper forms. I ordered a toasted turkey sando with dutch crunch, provolone, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, w/ garlic aioli and pesto mayo. FIRE! I love me a good and stacked deli sandwich, this was everything. They have 3 walls of all the soda pop you can think of. A lot of old school ones that can bring someone to nostalgia, I bet. I never even heard of some... haha! They have outdoor tables but it's not cleaned after each customer, so sit down at your own risk. The service is pretty quick which I wouldn't expect any less for a deli joint. What a cool place to get a sandwich. I got soup and a sandwich. The soup was tasty and well seasoned. I got a ham sandwich with veggies on it. I was very impressed. Older gentleman working behind the counter was very helpful. He mentioned getting the combo and that was a great idea. I will go back for sure. Excellent spot for lunch. Only criticism, customers are pretty messy leaving trash under the tables and staff is behind in cleaning up. No big deal, place was clean otherwise. I'll go back for sure. read more

I ordered $500 worth of sandwiches and salads here at Luigi's for a work luncheon. They were super helpful and efficient here -- from the ordering process to the pickup. The quality of the sandwiches were exceptional as well as the side salads. Prices were very fair for the quality. I would hands down recommend them for your catering needs. Luigi's Deli is a delight! Tasty sandwiches made to order and they make it so easy! Just grab their paper pads, circle your favorite bread, meat, cheese, and toppings and hand it over the checker. The chocolate chip cookies are made onsite. They use big chunky chocolate chips. Their cookies will have you coming back alone! The Asiago pasta salad and the Greek salad were delicious, but the sub was lacking. We got the turkey gobbler sub with avocado and cranberry sauce, but it was a bit dry and the bread was so thick it overwhelmed the toppings. It was good, but I've had better thanksgiving subs. Also it was supposed to have honey mustard but I didn't see or taste any. I think if they upped the sauce quantity it would have been a great sandwich, as it was it was just okay. Had jury duty in Martinez. Looked up sandwiches and saw this place was a short walk away. Serendipity. Order the Tuesday special which was a chicken sandwich with macaroni salad and some chips. Price was 14$ or so for everything and I watched the San which being made in about 3 minutes. Nice little patio area outside so bask in the sun. I hope to make it back some day. read more

Found myself in downtown Martinez doing some work and stumbled upon this sandwich joint. Inside this place is huge by sandwich standards. And all the glass soda bottles you could ever imagine. I ordered myself a turkey roast beef sandwich with all the fixings on Dutch crunch bread. With chips and a soda came out to just under $10. Which is a great Value if you compare it to other places. The sandwich was excellent. Just enough inside to maintain the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The Dutch crunch was a tad on the hard side, but still unmistakably good. Owner was super nice. And looks like he had met a bunch of celebs including Vin diesel. Plenty of pics on the wall. Great place. read more

Literally everything I've ever eaten there has been incredible. Most recently we tried the yellow curry soup and oh mama was it good: absolutely packed with perfectly cooked vegetables. What an absolute treat. Have had like 5 of their sammys too and they have all been great. One time we even found Ale 8 there, which is super rare in California. This deli is such a cute little hidden spot! Situated in Martinez' downtown. I found parking quickly as there is ample street parking! Upon entering, there was a live performer in the outside patio. I was so bummed bc he was pretty good and no one was around :'(. The whole space was pretty empty, so no line! I went in the afternoon on a weekday so that could be why. The cashier, Ethan, was FANTASTIC! I asked him to get me two sandos and to surprise me. ETHAN DID NOT DISAPPOINT . He even brought my sandwiches outside to me. Amazing service and I enjoyed talking to Ethan! Will be returning for this sole reason. The sandos are pretttttty bomb. I got a #19 Tuscan and a best seller from their cold sandwiches. I want to give this place 5 stars, but I can't. The 3 stars are for the delicious sandwiches ONLY. I'm trying to be fair while also sharing MY odd/horrible customer service experience. I've ordered from here via DoorDash several times in the last few years. All would arrive quick, correct, and yummy. Today was the first time I visited in person. Cute outdoor eating area and sizeable indoor space as well. Fairly easeful ordering process... fill-out individual order sheets: check off what you want and write your name, go up to the counter, pay, and wait. I ordered 1 custom (that I pre-filled out) and a second from their menu, I just wasn't aware that I was supposed to write the # on a sheet. The person at the register was not friendly (older gentleman, perhaps the owner?) didn't respond to my 'hello' (maybe be didn't hear me?) - he was messing with stuff on the counter and looking around. I waited a couple of seconds, then put the order sheet on the counter. He took the sheet, and that's when I asked my question about ordering one of their menu sandwiches. When I asked for the sandwich # (because I didn't have my glasses and couldn't see the board on the wall) he turned to ask one of the other employees for it and just assumed I heard their answer. I had 1 other question, and he pointed to where on the sheet to check and begrudgingly mumbled what I needed to write. Because I knew (from ordering on dd) to ask for a combo (add chips/soda), I let him know that I was adding a combo to each sandwich. He didn't look at me at all throughout our entire interaction. Spoke only to give me the total. After I paid, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to get a receipt or if my transaction was done, but I guessed my time was over when he looked past me and directly at the next customer. Here's the icing on the cake... he must have all of a sudden regained his energy, because he was very friendly with the next handful of customers - including explaining in detail how to fill-out the sheets, informing them of options when ordering a combo (apparently you can do sides too), letting them know which drinks they could choose from, oh and that they had baklava and ice cream too. I waited about 10 minutes for my order - it wasn't super busy, but they had a steady line. The wait time was fine, and it gave me ample time to observe how welcomed and engaged all the other customers were. I give people the benefit of the doubt - perhaps he was having a bad day, a rough moment... I could make all sorts of assumptions about what may have been going on, but that switch-up was too obvious. I digress... I've spent the energy writing this review and googling other delicious local deli's. read more

Ordered a sandwich and a salad and my mom grabbed a canned soda and bag of chips. The older gentleman checking us out said, oh, you both get a free chip or drink but she got hers, you can grab a soda fountain drink or chip or cookie. I said, oh free, really? Then afterwards my mom asked me, didn't $35 seem like a lot? I realized both of our items were listed at $11/12 each, so he must have made ours both combos without asking if I wanted a combo, then charged extra and presented the additional items as free. My bad for not paying more attention before paying but I feel like he was disingenuous. Next I had ordered a Cobb salad which said it came with blue cheese dressing. I get it and there's no dressing so we go in and ask for the dressing for the Cobb salad, balsamic if they have it. They say they're out, they are out of blue cheese dressing, they have Asian dressing that's like the same thing. Not really! Then my mom is eating the second half of her sandwich later today and bites into a toothpick. Not sticking straight up like usual, but in the middle of the sandwich between her meat. DELICIOUS!!! We picked up sandwiches for our family on Mother's Day, and took them up to Eckley Pier for a wonderful picnic. My husband ordered the egg salad, and they made a fresh batch for his order. He said it was delicious. He had it on a sourdough roll and devoured the whole thing. I got a turkey sandwich on sourdough roll, and it was so yummy. They put the perfect amount of mayo and mustard on it, not so little it was dry, but not so much everything slid off. We ordered a ham and cheese on sourdough roll for the kids, and although they liked it, the roll was a little too big for their little mouths. We also ordered the pesto pasta salad and fruit salad. The pesto salad had great flavor, but too much dressing for my preference. The man at the counter was super nice and did a magic trick with my kids, and they thought it was super cool. One of the options I like best at Luigi's is that you can fill out a form to design your sandwich or salad to your exact specifications. I am on a low carb diet and I can order a salad with added meat for protein. One of my favorites is Luigi's Vegetarian Salad, but with added pepperoncini and Greek gyro meat mixed in. Luigi's also has a huge selection of beverages, including some with zero sugar. On Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. there has been live music by local musicians. read more
