I am officially over this place. Their sandwiches are mediocre, their service is mediocre, their parking lot is awful and they seem to make their own hours up. Door says 3, yelp says 2:30, they say 2 (for closing). I swing by the other day at 1:45, door locked. I swing by a couple days later at noon, hand written "we are closed" sign. If there was a zero, that would be my rating. I came a far distance to get the taco salad which used to be awesome and my favorite chicken sausage gumbo. The taco salad was swimming in diluted dressing with no flavor, there were no tortilla chips, the meat was not seasoned with the taco seasoning they normally use, no cheese and very limp/mushy salad. I couldn't even eat it and had to throw it away. I had bought 3 servings that went in the garbage. The chicken gumbo soup was awful. No chicken. They seem to have overdone the sausage to make up for the lack of chicken. No rice, little to no veggies. What was there was mushy. It definitely was not made fresh. The "soup" was not thick and hearty as in the past. I also threw away 3 quarts of this soup. I spent over $60 and it all went in the trash. I will not be back! Chefs Touch catered a Thanksgiving Work party today at my company.. I didn't take photos, cuz that's a little weird at work.. The turkey was CRAZY good. Moist and juicy and cut perfectly. And the gravy? Wowsers!! The stuffing was also top notch.. I didn't try the desserts but they looked good! They were on time and I am imagining completely worth the price tag!! I'm still not getting enough of Chef's Touch. I'm still addicted to their Turkey Pesto Panini. Its one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The service is still stellar. Everyone is so friendly. I really do love coming in here. On the days that they have minestrone, I always get some. It's so good with my panini. Get it, you won't regret it. They also have Coke Zero in a can. Yes on every level! Come here instead of other chain sandwich shops. The prices are better, the food is better, everything is better here. read more

I had a work meeting scheduled today and had forgotten entirely about ordering lunch. This Worker group can be a tough room, as I still remember a few years back when one guy told me that if he wasn't eating, he wasn't coming. So how do you like that for entitlement? A coworker volunteered to order the sandwiches and pick them up. And I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Chef's Touch is located within the old County Health Building. Their prices are competitive and they offer a nice selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast items, baked goods, and salads. The turkey/swiss and roast beef sandwiches were very good. However, the potato salad was even better and almost as good as the old Pedroni's in Petaluma (the Gold Standard). Overall, we were very pleased and I'm sure we'll be back for our occasional catering needs. read more

Good ol' Chef's Touch, where the chefs are touched... I have had the unfortunate experience of having to eat from their Concert Catering services on many occasions. Let's just say their unpopular meals have earned the nickname "Chef's Touch Colon Cleanse" from those backstage. The worst are their boxed meals, which include a sad sandwich, cheap chips like Frito's, a dry cookie and a totally flavorless pasta salad. If it's not a sandwich, it's a piece of greasy chicken, wrapped in foil. Their buffets are not much better. If they have a full kitchen accessible, it's hit and miss. If they bring it premade in trays, it's almost always a miss. Most people are thankful just to be fed without having to think about it, but that isn't even assured with Chef's Touch. The worst is when they promise things like glueten free and vegetrian options, but don't deliver, so people don't get to eat. Sometimes they are late, and people don't get to eat. They have also been known to dump ice in toilets, so people can no longer use the bathroom. Invite them to your workplace if you want disappointed, hungry workers that can't use the bathroom. read more

So far so ok. I've gotten a couple sandwiches from here. The Panini's and regular sandwiches are good. Everyone seems to like the mini breakfast burritos. They have canned soda and a small selection of chips and salads. The deli staff are not the most enthusiastic but get the job done. read more

Chef's Touch, ya did it again..bravo! We have been eating from Chef's Touch for years now on numerous occasions, and not once have we been disappointed ; and most importantly, they executed above and beyond on the most important day of my life...our wedding recently. Absolutely amazing, is all I have to say. I coordinated with Melissa for the planning of this special day and she was able to provide a fancy gourmet buffet dinner, at a fairly reasonable price. It was for a smaller party - just a little under 40 people, and they did an absolute stellar job with everything. We had them provide table linens, chinaware, wine glasses, almost the whole setting, and they executed it phenomenal beautiful, all the way to the very last detail. Steve coordinated the day of the venue, and was not only personable and friendly, but did an outstanding job of making sure everything would be perfect.The staff that assisted us on this memorable day, all went well above and beyond to accommodate us on all of our needs. The food not only tasted spectacular, but the classy, sophisticated ambiance they so well executed, was just spectacular. We literally could had not have asked for a better caterer to assist us on this day. Cheers to Chef's Touch and to many more events to be catered from them again :) read more

Great food. I love coming to Chef's Touch. Their sandwiches and other foods are always so well prepared. Their staff is always so friendly. They all seem to work hard and fast too, as I've never had much of a wait. Once a week (at least over summers, not sure about the rest of the year) they do BBQ's outside and those are fantastic! A burger with grilled onion is the way to go! Definitely swing by when they're cooking... you can't miss them... just follow your nose! read more

This place just opened up after moving here from Walnut Creek. Very nice selection of sandwiches, salads and pastries (coffee too). I had the 1/2 veggie sandwich and taco salad. The sandwich was really fresh and good, the salad dressing on the taco salad was So good. My hubby had the french dip (he said it was alright), although there was hardly any meat on it. You would think they would add more since that's all a french dip is, meat and bread. Pretty decent prices, will probably go back. read more

The day before a party planned for 30 my caterer became very ill and was hospitalized. I received his call at 2pm - my party was for the next day at 2pm. Needless to say I was in stunned and nearly in tears. I am not a cook and didn't know what to do next. I had passed by Chef's Touch Catering on Pacheco Blvd in Martinez on my way home but knew nothing about them. Desperate I called. I really expected them to tell me no because of the short notice but the very nice woman I spoke to didn't say no. Their menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. Now I had food ordered but still remained skeptical -- I didn't know what to expect. To make a stressful story short, the food was delicious - everyone loved everything. Great place to pick up lunch in Martinez! I usually get the half sandwich and a cup of soup for only $4.33!!! Can't beat it!

I've only had the soup there twice and it was really good, gumbo and Mulligatawny. It's super convenient to run in there to grab something on my 30 min lunch break. I see they have chicken and ribs already cooked and several prepared salads in the deli case. Sandwiches are to order. Both times I've been in there at lunch hour their were only 3-4 other customers, so much easier to order than say, TOGO's or Subway at Morello/Arnold. fyi, hours on the door say 7am to 4pm. Totally Disappointed. Couldn't wait for them to open at this new location because I loved the Walnut Creek location so much. Had the French Dip, Roll was stale and it had like NO Meat. Got a salad and that was old and wilted. You think that they could take a few minutes to make fresh ranch, "Oh No" Bottled Ranch is what they offer, lousy. Tried the place twice just to make sure. The ladies here are quick to make your sandwich and I have never had any service issues. I would say I have probably been here 15 times for lunch. The salads are fresh and the sandwiches are stuffed. Great food. A little on the pricey side, but whatever....I will continue to eat here. I hope to try their coffee one morning. Easy location to run in and run out. read more

We had a small family gathering in Feb. I decided at the last minute to hire a caterer rather than spend my day preparing food. So the day b-4 I ordered sandwiches, fruit plate and Mac salad. Couldn't have been more pleased!! Everything was presented beautifully, ripe yummy fruit, super fresh sandwiches, and the macaroni salad was better than any I've made. 20 of us and I ordered for 17 and ended up with plenty to go around. So disappointing, I am mad at the money I spent. I was craving their fabulous Taco Salad which I have been eating since their Walnut Creek location, so I made an out of the way trip to Martinez. While there I was enticed by the brisket I could see in the steam table behind the counter so I ordered a half lb to take home to the hubby. I also noted they had corn beef so I ordered a full lb to take home and make sandwiches they next day. Also....while on a roll I bought 2 breakfast burritos to reheat the next morning. YUCK...the brisket was nothing but the fat! So gross I couldn't even touch it, are they kidding me, was this some kind of joke? Then the corn beef was processed rubbery "fake meat" like you would get at Subways. I had to take it off my sandwich and eat the bread, sauerkraut & swiss cheese alone. Really really bad folks. The burritos were just OK......I am not sure I even like the Taco Salad anymore as it was all mushy. Sorry, you've lost your Touch Chef. read more

I LOVE Chef's Touch. I have been working down the street from this location for about 4 years now, and I frequently come here for lunch. I would describe their food as delicious, filling, and affordable. I've tried most of their daily soups and specials aside from their clam chowder. They BBQ on Tuesdays (and Thursdays?) unless it is raining. Their soups are seriously BOMB. So good that I eat them even in the scorching summertime. THEY HAVE PULLED PORK ON TUESDAYS! YUM! The staff has always been friendly to me, and I like them all, but Michelle is definitely my fave.. I'd give more stars if I could :) read more

This little deli is definitely worth a try. They have a bbq pit outside that they cook ribs, chicken, burgers, hot links, and tri tip on. I initially went here wanting the chicken salad sandwich, but after my sample decided it wasn't the flavor I was wanting. It needed a little more "oomph" as in flavors and/or grapes (personal preference). So instead i got the bbq chicken quarter. The lady who helped me was nice but a bit messy and seemingly overwhelmed. I also got a half pint of fruit salad (best one I have had in a long time considering the season) chips and a drink. All together it came to just seven bucks. The chicken was tender, and juicy, and had kind of a cinnamon tasting flavoring to it which i didn't necessarily enjoy until I put my BBQ sauce on it. All in all, good food, especially for the prices. I would definitely go here again, and encourage others to try it as well. I was too scared to try it for the longest time, and it looks more like a catering joint. But i am glad I finally discovered it! =) read more
