I would like to say that the employees who work at these trucks are as friendly as can be, so I have a hard time writing this review. I like the food for the most part, but when you order a carne asada burrito and pay $16.41 for a regular burrito that isn't all that big, it would be nice to get actual carne asada in the burrito. I had maybe a handful of pieces, not full bites of carne and most of the meat was fatty and not edible. I basically got a bean rice and cheese burrito for $16.41. I get restaurants are trying to save money however they can, but to skimp the meat so badly, it changes the consistency of the burrito and makes it undesirable. I wish I had better things to say, but this had to be noted. I will not be ordering burritos from here any longer and have already had to quit ordering the carne asada fries for other reasons. Requesting crispy fries to get half cooked fries sent me over the top. It's $17.00 plus tax for a half order of carne asada fries. I say half order, because the size of the container is half the size of a full container, yet they charge full container prices. I'm just not on board with overpaying, not getting the order correct and being skimpy on the servings of what's matters, the meat. If you want to know why I only stop in when I'm with others, it's mainly because of the reasoning I just provided. read more

Very solid taco truck that came to our work event. Definitely deserves your chance, try em out. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars because I only tried their tacos so it's hard to fully judge them. No complaints at all, but to be a 5 might need that extra little something. Again no fault of theirs since they delivered what was expected. Tried their al pastor and asada street tacos. Tacos came on double tortilla, with a choice if mild or spicy salsa, lime carrots and jalapeno. They prep it all for you so no need to accessorize your food. We had Ranchero cater a graduation party last week. It was a huge hit. Not only did everyone compliment the food, but they also said nice things about the Ranchero crew who were very polite and took time to explain the options and answer questions. After the event, Ranchero gave us containers of leftover meats, rice, and beans, (which we had as our meals for a couple of nights!) and they cleaned up nicely before they left. Taco Tuesday = Another taco truck review! But THIS truck is the BEST taco truck in Concord, and arguably the best taco truck around in my opinion. Addiction is an understatement when you talk about the El Rancho Catering taco truck. At one point, I was coming here multiple times a week like clockwork just to get my taco fix. Yep, it's just that good! You can find the truck between 5-10pm daily parked right in front of Los Rancheros Taqueria off of Monument Blvd. If you get there right at 5, you might have to wait a minute for them to get their truck set up. Recommendations?! Well, pretty much everything is bomb here! I have a thing for their steak tacos though... mm hmm, we're in love! That steak is just mesmerizing. What's even more mesmerizing dare I say... are the flippin' GARNISHES! I go so crazy over them, I swear! Those roasted mini onions, charred jalapenos, spicy cucumbers, and fresh pieces of radishes are just so devine! YAAAASSS! If my plate doesn't have these garnishes on the side, I will slightly get annoyed. Luckily, they are pretty consistent in always adding these to my plate. The service is nothing special, but it's a taco truck for crying out loud. Just make my tacos how I like them and it's a done deal! Sometimes, they only have Spanish speaking employees working the register, but they usually understand what I want to order anyways, so it's no biggie. On special occasions, you can sometimes find a table right next to the truck that makes some amazing elote! Tacos? Elote? I'm game! I may be a little bit biased but I will proudly proclaim that this is the best taco truck that I have ever eaten at! These tacos are the most authentic street tacos that I've ever had and they have easily beaten the tacos trucks that I have eaten at in the city and in Oakland. It's funny that a taco truck like this in located in Concord of all places. Even if I didn't already live in this city, I would travel far and wide for these damn tacos! They are 1000% worth it! The meat is always juicy, veggies are always fresh, the salsa is outstanding, and their garnishes just murder any and all other taco trucks around! And the best part is... they are dirt cheap! $1.50 a pop! You just can't beat it! Customer service was excellent called days poor to check headcount, before coming and was 15 minutes early to set up. Set up in second and took the mess with them.. yes!!!! Parked near the ticketing area of the WC BART station, this truck is walking distance from many downtown office buildings. And the word is out, there was a decent crowd gathered around to buy! Be aware, they do have a credit card machine set-up, but on 11/13/13, it wasn't functioning so hopefully that will be resolved quick. Their menu is concise and the prices are quite good - you can't beat a $1.75 taco! I ordered 3 tacos, 1 each of chicken, asada steak and al pastor pork, and a small bottled water, and it only rang up to $6.25. Friends also purchased the taco plate and steak quesdilla, and our food was received in less than 5 minutes. Everything is packaged to go so walking back to an office building with the food is no problem. Tacos are served street style, topped with onions, cilantro and salsa. The food is fine, not mindblowing. Of the 3, the steak taco was my favorite, and the steak worked really well in the quesadilla as well. Definitely the most flavorful of the 3 meats. The refried beans that come with the taco plate are also a bit lacking in seasoning. The quesadilla was a winner though - served very warm, lots of steak and melty cheese, and salsa, guac and sour cream for dipping, plus all meals come with marinated carrots. Pretty much 50/50 on this spot. I came out of the BART today and noticed the food trucks were outside. Being past 5 I decided to have an early dinner while waiting for my ride. I decided on getting a chicken super burrito from this spot. The guy who helped me wasn't friendly at all. He didn't say much back and didn't even tell me to have a good day. I ended up waiting AWHILE for my food. They didn't seem too busy, but I waited close to ten minutes for my burrito. The burrito itself was so and so. While it was filling the chicken just didn't taste that fresh. The real unsatisfactory thing about this was the burrito was $9.50!! Super overpriced for what you get. Was on our way to Eureka and decided to stop and try this new spot out and thank goodness we did!!! EVERYTHING WAS SO YUMMY!!! Ordered guacamole and chips as an appetizer. I was excited to find a new food truck in Concord serving Mexican/Salvadorean food. The menu suggests the breakfast burritos are their specialty since it took up half of it. The second half was a tacos and tortas. Then there were specials taped up to the order window. Craving some pupusas (and seeing everyone was ordering them) I ordered a plate and for six bucks I got two pupusas with rice and beans. Large horchata two more bucks. The pupusas were plate sized but kinda pancake flat. The curtido was nicely pickled. The beans and rice were OK. Cutting into the pupusas I got what I was looking for.
