It's the most tender and delicious chicken I have ever had that is catered. The fear is that the chicken is usually dry and tough and this was not the case. My church hosted our Annual Gathering two years ago and it was three days with four meals, serving anywhere between 30 and over 100 people. When my office party committee was looking for a caterer and I saw the name Zandonella, I knew the search was over. We had our wedding reception at Zandonellas twenty something years ago (1996) and people still talk about the food. Fast forward to almost 2020. They are still serving up too quality meals and excellent service at incredibly affordable prices. Our budget is always limited because we have to voluntarily hold fundraisers in order to pull off the event. To be able to serve tri tip, teriyaki chicken, tri colored potatoes, perfectly cooked green beans, a crisp lightly dressed green salad, and fresh tasty rolls seemed way too rich for our budget. Thanks to Zandonellas, it happened and everyone really enjoyed the meal. Louie is absolutely one of the good ones, take a few minutes to chat with him. I had Zandonella as my wedding caterer back in early November and we could not be more pleased! The NICEST people and AMAZING food, I couldn't have wished for anything more. Regardless of how busy they were with cooking and preparing, they managed to come out and socialize multiple times and made sure everything was perfect! They checked in with my and my family multiple times. They felt like regular wedding guests. Jenn and Louie accommodated my every request and exceeded my expectations. The charcuterie tray (although I only got to see pictures because it was destroyed before I got there) was so beautiful and had an abundance of variety! We had shrimp cocktail shot glasses, charcuterie tray, and fruit platter for appetizers. Then tri tip carved on the buffet, Champagne chicken, trio colored roasted and herbed creamer potatoes, green bean almondine, Cesar salad, rolls. On top of the many pros I've listen, they are very much affordable! I could not believe the cost for my wedding food, I think it is much more affordable than many weddings usually have, while still being the best quality and DELICIOUS! They also bagged up all the leftovers and sent it home with us, and we ate it for a week, moaning with pleasure (literally) with everything plate. We ate the leftovers plain, as a skillet, as a scramble. You really couldn't make it taste bad. This family is passionate about what they do and it shows through their outstanding and hard work. We talk to Lenn just a few days before, and Lenn got back us quickly. They're very accommodating with our menu modifications. They came and set up the reception on time and made it beautifully. We are so thankful we had our wedding catered by Zandonellas. Food was over the top delicious and perfect. We had, tri tip, chicken Marcella, roasted potatoes, roasted veggies, garden salad, rollin butter.. it was all prepared to perfection. Buffet table was set up for easy service by our guest and they served the bride n groom so we could say seated. Mr Zandonella carved the meat for each guest. All the staff made sure everyone and everything was taken care of and they all did it with kind smiles. Mr Zandonella came over to personally congratulated us. I thought that was special. For My sons 18th Birthday Louie and his team came to our home and he cooked and served 30 of us an awesome assortment of appetizers & then an elegant & so delicious steak & lobster sit down dinner with the most fabulous twice baked potato, Italian veggies & bread. We just hired Zandonella for a large memorial service reception of 250 people last Sunday. I live in Martinez and pass by their shop multiple times a week, but have never used them. Where do I start? Our first meeting with Louie was at the worst time in our lives. We preparing the memorial service for my dad who had suddenly passed. Being a large Italian family we knew that the caterer had to be someone with extra special talent and heart in order to put love into the meal that they were going to prepare for his celebration. After a short discussion we knew we had made the perfect match with Louie and Jen . Louie spoke the same "language" as we did for the love of food and the celebration of family. Working with us Louie was able to put together a spectacular menu featuring flavors from Italy. We had no ideas how many people would be there and we were worried we would run out of food. Louie assured us that would never happen. I was also worried that his idea of Italian and our idea of Italian was different. Boy was I wrong!!! HE'S ITALIAN!! Friends and family came up to us during the day to find out Louie's name and his company's name. They were absolutely blown away with the quality and flavors of Louie's food. It was hot delicious and presented so beautifully. I know many people who would love his recipe for the delicious Italian chicken! Everything for that day was perfect. From the table linens to the arrangement and presentation of the food...everything was outstanding. (Oh and as promised we never did run out of food!) The staff was gracious professional and "invisible". They were everywhere and took great care of all of our guests. Louie and Jen made sure that my sisters mother and I were all well taken care of on that day. Jen checked in with me throughout the day to make sure everything was just right and made sure I ate!
