Just to be totally upfront and honest, I have not done a catering order here - BUT - if the food is the same as the absolutely divine dishes that were served when this location was Connie's Kitchen, then I would 100% make this my first choice if I ever needed one! I used to live nearby when it was a restaurant and fell in love with the meatloaf she made there & I miss it soooo much! I hope this catering business provides the same love and passion that the restaurant did because that secret little gem of a spot was hands down the best food in the county! Love and miss ya Connie! read more

We had a multi day event at our site and Zandonella's delivered! Whatever you do, you have to experience the champagne chicken! It's the most tender and delicious chicken I have ever had that is catered. The fear is that the chicken is usually dry and tough and this was not the case. Everything was generously portioned and seasoned well. They are super professional in that they deliver on time and the food is prepared with great care. Please support this local family business. read more

Absolutely delicious and friendly professional service! I feel so bad that it has taken me so long to write this review. My church hosted our Annual Gathering two years ago and it was three days with four meals, serving anywhere between 30 and over 100 people. Some of smaller meals we used Zandonella Catering drop-off option and the larger meals were full service. All of the catering options and all of the meals were fantastic! I received nothing but raves about food from the attendees. It was so well received that our church has used them multiple times since, in fact I am in communication with Jenn to do all of the catering for the same 3 day event this year. We now have a few folks that absolutely crave their Champagne Chicken. Use them, you'll have a tasty and wonderful experience! read more

I was at a fundraiser and Zandonella catered this large event. The food was delicious. The best tasting crab and pasta I've ever had! Large portions. Thanks read more

When my office party committee was looking for a caterer and I saw the name Zandonella, I knew the search was over. We had our wedding reception at Zandonellas twenty something years ago (1996) and people still talk about the food. Fast forward to almost 2020. They are still serving up too quality meals and excellent service at incredibly affordable prices. Our budget is always limited because we have to voluntarily hold fundraisers in order to pull off the event. To be able to serve tri tip, teriyaki chicken, tri colored potatoes, perfectly cooked green beans, a crisp lightly dressed green salad, and fresh tasty rolls seemed way too rich for our budget. Thanks to Zandonellas, it happened and everyone really enjoyed the meal. Louie is absolutely one of the good ones, take a few minutes to chat with him. On time, great personality, wonderful service, amazing food, incredible value, and a track record of quality that spans decades. What else is there to say? read more

I had Zandonella as my wedding caterer back in early November and we could not be more pleased! The NICEST people and AMAZING food, I couldn't have wished for anything more. Regardless of how busy they were with cooking and preparing, they managed to come out and socialize multiple times and made sure everything was perfect! They checked in with my and my family multiple times. They felt like regular wedding guests. Jenn and Louie accommodated my every request and exceeded my expectations. The charcuterie tray (although I only got to see pictures because it was destroyed before I got there) was so beautiful and had an abundance of variety! We had shrimp cocktail shot glasses, charcuterie tray, and fruit platter for appetizers. Then tri tip carved on the buffet, Champagne chicken, trio colored roasted and herbed creamer potatoes, green bean almondine, Cesar salad, rolls. On top of the many pros I've listen, they are very much affordable! I could not believe the cost for my wedding food, I think it is much more affordable than many weddings usually have, while still being the best quality and DELICIOUS! They also bagged up all the leftovers and sent it home with us, and we ate it for a week, moaning with pleasure (literally) with everything plate. We ate the leftovers plain, as a skillet, as a scramble. You really couldn't make it taste bad. This family is passionate about what they do and it shows through their outstanding and hard work. I really appreciate them, I will never forget my wedding meal, and I hope to work with them again one day. THANK YOU SO MUCH! read more

I've never left a Yelp review before, but I felt I needed to do this one m. We just had Zandonella catering our sister-in-law's funeral reception at the church. We talk to Lenn just a few days before, and Lenn got back us quickly. They're very accommodating with our menu modifications. They came and set up the reception on time and made it beautifully. The foods were delicious. The staff stayed and helped cleaning up as well. We're very impressed with their business, and definitely will use them again. read more

We are so thankful we had our wedding catered by Zandonellas. Food was over the top delicious and perfect. We had, tri tip, chicken Marcella, roasted potatoes, roasted veggies, garden salad, rollin butter.. it was all prepared to perfection. Buffet table was set up for easy service by our guest and they served the bride n groom so we could say seated. Mr Zandonella carved the meat for each guest. All the staff made sure everyone and everything was taken care of and they all did it with kind smiles. Mr Zandonella came over to personally congratulated us. I thought that was special. It definitely made me take note.. After we made the first cut of our cake, he also took over to cut it while his staff served each guest. They added perfection, to our already perfect day.. We later got calls, and text from or guest stating how beautiful everything was and the food was outstanding. Who did your catering !!??.. As I'm typing this, I wish I had some of that chicken Marcella right now.. lol. They deserve 10 stars but could only give 5.. We thank you so much. read more

For My sons 18th Birthday Louie and his team came to our home and he cooked and served 30 of us an awesome assortment of appetizers & then an elegant & so delicious steak & lobster sit down dinner with the most fabulous twice baked potato, Italian veggies & bread. His food is always amazing and it's truly authentic & Italian. After we finished dinner, He & the team did all of the dishes, packed up all of leftovers so nicely so we could enjoy later. He left my kitchen cleaner when they left than when they started. We will have him back again for the kids graduation party. I will never use another catering company for any event other than them. Regardless if your event is big or small, he never disappoints! read more

We just hired Zandonella for a large memorial service reception of 250 people last Sunday. I live in Martinez and pass by their shop multiple times a week, but have never used them. Based on the reviews, we thought we'd give them a shot. All I have to say is that Jenn and Louie Zandonella (and team) more than exceeded our expectations in every way!! They were an absolute delight to work with, extremely professional, everything in the buffet dinner line tasted wonderful (people are STILL raving about the dinner!), presentation was top notch and not a detail was missed. They are a full-service catering company that goes over and beyond to make a difficult occasion run as smoothly as possible, and was more than willing to accommodate additional needs I had during the event. I wish I had used them sooner for my other large events I've had in the past! I will definitely plan to use them again for any future events and highly recommend them! Where do I start? Our first meeting with Louie was at the worst time in our lives. We preparing the memorial service for my dad who had suddenly passed. Being a large Italian family we knew that the caterer had to be someone with extra special talent and heart in order to put love into the meal that they were going to prepare for his celebration. After a short discussion we knew we had made the perfect match with Louie and Jen . Louie spoke the same "language" as we did for the love of food and the celebration of family. Working with us Louie was able to put together a spectacular menu featuring flavors from Italy. We had no ideas how many people would be there and we were worried we would run out of food. Louie assured us that would never happen. I was also worried that his idea of Italian and our idea of Italian was different. Boy was I wrong!!! HE'S ITALIAN!! Friends and family came up to us during the day to find out Louie's name and his company's name. They were absolutely blown away with the quality and flavors of Louie's food. It was hot delicious and presented so beautifully. I know many people who would love his recipe for the delicious Italian chicken! Everything for that day was perfect. From the table linens to the arrangement and presentation of the food...everything was outstanding. (Oh and as promised we never did run out of food!) The staff was gracious professional and "invisible". They were everywhere and took great care of all of our guests. Louie and Jen made sure that my sisters mother and I were all well taken care of on that day. Jen checked in with me throughout the day to make sure everything was just right and made sure I ate! Louie and Jen have instantly become part of our family. It was genuine. Not just another job for them. They put their heart and soul into what they do and You can tell! That is what made our event even more special. They have instantly become part of our family. It was genuine. Not just another job for them. You could tell and that is what made our event even more special. I only wish I had more kids to marry off so that I could have them cater our next wedding!
