My party was 11 days away and they cancelled on me with no warning via email because I didn't respond to a message within 24 hours so they booked another party. My experience was horrible! I believe I was racially profiled by a woman by the name of Tanya L. I booked with this company twice and the dates were available. I noted that my budget would be $6O per adult. Tanya sent me an email stating with that budget there is no money left for food. I asked her to call me several times and I attempted to call the business but no one would ever answer. Instead of Tanya reaching out to discuss options or even ask me if I was open to adjustments? my requested dates were closed out within 1 day and that in 48 hours like Tanya said I finally was able to reach a gentleman on the line. He stated my date was now booked ! so they shut me down. They did not even try to assist me and then gave the date away that I requested! The sad thing about it is that I was open to make any adjustments to the budget. . The questionnaire asked what is my preferred budget so I noted my preferred budget is $60 per adult but that does NOT mean that I did not have the means to increase that budget, but Mrs. Tanya took no interest in finding out if I was. Event Follow Up: EMAIL FROM TANYA, L I see that this is a second request submitted by you. As we previously indicated the budget you stated fell well below what was required for an event of your size. We had shared with you a minimum suggested starting budget of what would be required to execute the event. Since we didn't hear back from you indicating that you wished to offer an alternative budget, your request was closed after 48 hours. Your second request falls under the exact same circumstances. We are unable to offer services to you at such a low stated budget. Our hibachi at home services are an ultra premium service offering, your stated budget of just $65 per person barely covers the labor, insurance, and servingware necessary to execute the event, leaving absolutely no remaining funds for any type of food. The AWS team did an exceptional job from punctuality, cleanliness, quality of food, extensiveness and freshness of food/ingredients and friendliness of the entire team. All the guest were super impressed especially as they cooked a mexican vegetarian cuisine for us. AWS also did an outstanding job with the table decorations to make it into festive theme as my daughter had wanted. Most important of all was they were very careful as they had to work on a marble counter top and not only did they not leave any stains but left the kitchen cleaner than when they came - extremely important in a VRBO. Not only were they inflexible with changes (I paid for 14 people and only had 12 people coming) I asked them to only make 12 dishes and I would pay for the 14 (I didn't want to waste food) they said no. Upon the chefs arrival, we were met with "are you going to clean the kitchen?" When we had just cleaned it. To the chefs making fun of our "30 year old bachelorette party) to being inconvenienced that we had a photographer, to then telling guest that they are not there to serve us drinks when someone simply asked "where the wine is". I hosted a bachelorette party at my house this past weekend and hired AWG Chefs for brunch on Sunday morning after a night of fun. It was by far the hit of the weekend! They were so accommodating of food allergies and a need for gluten free and the food was *incredible*. The team was friendly and so polite and let me tell you, having my guests wake up to the smell of brunch cooking was an amazing treat. My kitchen was left impeccably clean and all leftovers stored away for enjoyment later. We will absolutely be looking for more reasons to hire them in the future. Thank you so much! read more

Tonight we had Chef Mike, Sous Chef Janiece and Server Ronny make and serve us a delicious meal. We had a party of 10 at a rental home in Napa and after doing much research decided to hire AWG. We could not be more pleased with the process and the people at AWG. We are all very happily full. They require I fill out a form that I get on a link, and then went back and forth with me with an exhaustive number of emails asking for more and more details. When I finally said to them that they are making things way to complicated for someone requesting a quote, they took it personally, got insulted and defensive, and said something to the effect of not interested in doing business with the likes of me. read more

Let's start with the positive! AWG was super communicative and accommodating from the start, allowing for changes to please a wide array of palates and preferences. Our chef, sous chef, and server were beyond lovely. They arrived on time and got straight to work! They were personable and professional, without being intrusive. The entire team catered to our group of 8 women beautifully! The food was of what seemed to be very good quality was impeccably presented to us. The only real issues were that the appetizer was too heavy on the onions and SADLY (because it was cooked PERFECTLY) the steaks were cut incorrectly, causing it to be really hard to chew. My sister is a classically trained, former chef who worked as sous chef at Trace Adkins country club in Oklahoma and was the one to, after some goading, explain what went wrong there. This should not be a deterrent for anyone looking to hire AWG though! It is meant as constructive criticism. For what was almost $200 per plate meal (not including gratuities) I expected perfection and was just a tiny bit disappointed. The delectable dessert almost made up for the couple foibles though! I booked AWG as a surprise for my daughter's Bachelorette Weekend in Sonoma. She and 7 of her friends were staying at a VRBO, and I arranged to have the chefs come and cook brunch for them on Sunday so they could have a relaxing day staying by the pool. Making the arrangements was seamless, and AWG was so responsive to every question I had. The girls loved all of the food and the chefs were very gracious and friendly. Bottom Line: They strictly followed contract I signed but a bit unreasonable and greedy! I booked a AWG Chefs for my wife's 50th birthday. Paid a hefty deposit. Final payment came due on a Saturday and I wanted to see if I could add a person to the party. I called their office and it was closed. Since the office was closed, and nothing would be processed on the weekend, I figured I could call and pay on Monday morning. I receives a cancelation notice on Sunday. I called the emergency line on Sunday to try and fix the situation and pay. I was told another the party was already booked and I should read my contract. I called and left several messages all day on Monday. Owner sent me a message claiming he called, which he did not. His message explained how this situation was completely my fault and how he has incurred several losses due cancelation penalties for rentals, and purchase order cancellation penalties. Since I was willing to pay on Sunday and Monday & he already had a non-refundable deposit, it is tough to understand his finical loss. I also offered to pay more to cover any "losses." read more

Sean and Mike both were excellent from the time I inquired all the way through the end. Really great customer service. We had planned a teppanyaki dinner for my son's graduation dinner and we all got COVID and had to reschedule. I was so heartbroken and figured that we would have to eat the entire cost because that typically is what any other caterer's policy is. Sean was both flexible and understanding. He worked with us to pay for all of the food and he allowed us to reschedule which we did within 3 week of our original date. Each time I sent in an inquiry I received a response within a few hours. The day of the dinner the staff all arrived on time. Mike, Joceene (I'm sorry I know I'm spelling incorrectly) and Alexa were all friendly, personable and professional. 2 of our guests were running late and all agreed to start later with no problem and didn't make us feel bad at all. Mike did the teppanyaki dinner and he let my son light the volcano. Mike talked to us while cooking which we all enjoyed. Joceene was very friendly and we laughed with all 3 of them throughout the night. Now for the actual food. We had grass fed filet, chicken breast, shrimp, gyoza, bacon fried rice and a mouse for dessert. The meat was all very tender and seasoned just right. The side sauces were delicious and the bacon fried rice was to die for! I'm asian and am very particular about my fried rice and I have to say I was quite impressed. The portions were huge! We have leftovers which my family ate the next day. They cleaned up everything and when they left it was like they were never there. We were left will full stomaches and a great memory. My son smiled all night long and he was so happy with the dinner. Thank you AWG Private Chefs for making our small dinner celebration for my son very special. We had AWG Private Chefs in to do a dinner for my wife's 70th birthday. It coud not have been better. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating, as much as they could be given covid restrictions (indeed, the way they managed those restrictions they were barely noticeable). The food was incredible, the pace was perfect (they waited until we nodded for the next course) and no clean-up by us! Only downside was there were no leftovers. We had a group of 8 spending a few days in Napa doing tastings and we brought in AWG Chefs for a final night dinner and it was wonderful. We were at a VRBO and the kitchen had its challenges but the Chef had no problem making everything work. What a joy it was to have the Chef and our server there taking care of everything and we all could relax, continue to drink wine, and enjoy the smells. The food was incredible, service fantastic. In no way a cheap dinner, but for a special occasion it was worth every penny. Loved that everything was cleaned up and taken away at the end.
