I read about this food truck on Nextdoor and it was the loaded baked potato that inspired me to drive from Martinez to their location on Clayton Rd by Ducky's Car Wash. It was well worth it as all my senses were engaged: The smoky smell! The other customers raving about the food! The colorful food truck! Had the brisket and the chicken. The spicy BBQ sauce was excellent--I'd recommend buying a bottle to take home. The brisket was good. Unfortunately, the chicken was disappointing because it had a natural gas taste. It may have been a one-time issue, but the price makes me hesitant to try it again. read more

Food was amazing. Brisket was perfect with a deep smoke ring. We had: 1) brisket plate with mac and cheese and potatoe salad - 5+/5. Super yum; & 2) 3 meat combo with brisket, pulled pork & chicken thighs with beans and potatoes salad - 5/5. Brisket was best but all really good. The sauce is slightly sweet with almost no heat. I attended a 50th bday party last night. These guys catered. I can honestly say, the food was Michelin rating worthy. I've eaten a good amount of BBQ in my 68 years, but their flavors are unmatched. I was blown away by the melt in your mouth brisket, tri-tip, baked beans, and the mac and cheese had a unique secret ingredient that I wish I knew what it was. We used Chilly Willy's to cater my partner's birthday party this weekend and it was a huge hit. We ordered the tri-tip, chicken, brisket, beans, salad, and mac & cheese, and every single person at the party was complimenting the food. We had a total of 30 people. Everything was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The tri-tip and brisket were especially a crowd favorite, and the mac & cheese disappeared fast. They also gave us more than enough food -- everyone was able to eat well and there were still leftovers, which is rare when you're feeding a big group. Holy bait and switch, Batman. This was my first time ever going to this barbecue truck. Before leaving I called ahead to ask where their truck was that day (because I live around 25 miles away from where they seem to operate out of ) and the owner told me about their new amazing promotion for their new line of barbecue sauce. Apparently If you spend more than $20 you get a free bottle of their barbecue sauce. So when we showed up not only would they not sell the barbecue that they show on their menu online (sorry, we don't do takeout -- what's the point of going to where their business is then?), they would only sell you "plates" served on the location menu. Also that promotion they promised me suddenly disappeared. Now apparently it was only available to the first 20 people of the day. Whatever, but I'm never driving out of my way to go to this truck again. read more

I love dropping by when they are at the Concord Farmers Market on Thursday evenings. I usually drop by a little after 4.pm before the market gets going. I like to order the loaded Mac and Cheese, which is really good with the mild sauce. The service is good and very appreciative. please note the Thursday evening farmers market in downtown Concord is only during the summer months. 27 for a three meat combo is slightly steep but that's not the primary issue. Hot links were 8/10 good. Meat came sauced up which is fine. Ball tip (5.5/10) was thin cut and that was a blessing because it was a bit dry and chewy. Biggest disappointment was the brisket got one large piece that was inedible due to being dry end piece and fat with less than 20% actually useable meat and one very small piece. Beans and Mac and cheese both decent 7/7.5/10 for those. Next time I'd opt for just brisket and hope they give me more than one bite worth. read more

I had reached out to two other caterers and it took them 4 days to get back to me. When I reached out to ChillyWilly's, Willy got back to me right away and I could tell he was a solid dude that took his business and his food very seriously. Chilly Willy's BBQ was some of the finest in the land! I would totally get it again. We ordered lunch for 18 people and we got try tip hotlinks mac & cheese and barbecue baked beans it was all delicious. My favorite was the mac & cheese with tri-tip mixed in. I can't wait to try his loaded mac & cheese with the brisket. The food arrived right on time it was nice and warm ready to go and it served all of us with some extras for seconds and even thirds. We ordered the family meal from Chilly Willy BBQ Saterday night to share with our neighbors. It was Ribs,chicken thighs, brisket Mac and cheese and baked beans. The family meal feeds up to 5 people. It was delivered to our house packaged appropriately and on time. Our neighbors ended up with company I started to worry it might not be enough. I made a salad and some fresh fruit to add to our meal. Everything was outstanding and plenty. We ended up feeding six adults and two children and still had leftovers. Everything was so tasty, tender and moist. I kept it warm in the oven for an hour before we ate it. They even make their own barbecue sauce. They get a third star because of the bar! Now there was only one person working there and that's fine because he could go get a snack or something and come back to pour drinks, but again. The restroom issue. Where does he wash his hands, what if he has a cold and sneezes into them, and so on. That's where my mind went. The vendors are quite nice and were helpful and weren't mean when they answered my GF questions and I appreciate that. So, this is like the little engine that could. I can see that it is a gathering spot for people and they have music and speakers which is cool. So I saw and felt a community vibe and people really seemed to like going. If I lived in the area, I may try it a bit more, but in all honestly, Oakland Museum's Off the Grid event is everything I wish this was. I have actually seen this food truck before but never had the opportunity to order from here so I thought today would be a good day. It seems like their claim to fame is that they use halal meat. I ordered the loaded P and a side of fries. I was pretty underwhelmed with the overall meal. The roll looked like it was bought from a general store and the cheese looked like nacho cheese you get in a can. I will give them credit that the fries tasted fresh but again, I was overall underwhelmed with the whole meal. Truthfully I would have considered giving this place four stars but the total cost of this meal came out to more than $30, which is a bit crazy. I understand we are going through an inflation period but a cheesesteak and fries costing that much is insane. Had the meal blown me away, I would have understood the high price. There may not be many cheesesteak shops in the Bay Area but there are enough where I can compare the quality and price of those shops to this truck. The quality of the sandwiches is definitely similar but the other places are way cheaper. Like I mentioned earlier, if you are going to be a truck that specializes in an American classic and are going to charge a hefty price, then be prepared to impress me. I mean who wouldn't be; once you've tried bulgogi, it's hard to have anything else. All their buns come with the pickled cucumbers and ginger which makes a nice fresh addition to the tops of the already warm and fresh buns. If you are wanting to try their food I definitely recommend the bulgogi buns!
