Great new Philly Cheese Steak spot! The food truck came by my work a few times and I have stopped by to get stuff every single time. The first time, I ordered the Philly P. There wasn't that much meat in the sandwich and I was still hungry after it but it still tasted good. I'd probably get the Loaded P instead. The second time, I ordered the P Daddy. I was super hungry and this one did the job well. The owner recognized me from before and was super nice and courteous and offered me a complimentary drink which I appreciated greatly. I've mentioned this statement in previous reviews: if you are going to be a food truck that specializes in an American classic such as burgers, hot dogs, Mac and cheese, or in this case, Philly cheesesteaks, you really need to blow me away and especially if you are going to charge an arm and a leg (more on that detail in a minute) I came across this place at the electric Caltrain launch party in Palo Alto. I have actually seen this food truck before but never had the opportunity to order from here so I thought today would be a good day. It seems like their claim to fame is that they use halal meat. I ordered the loaded P and a side of fries. I was pretty underwhelmed with the overall meal. The roll looked like it was bought from a general store and the cheese looked like nacho cheese you get in a can. I will give them credit that the fries tasted fresh but again, I was overall underwhelmed with the whole meal. Truthfully I would have considered giving this place four stars but the total cost of this meal came out to more than $30, which is a bit crazy. I understand we are going through an inflation period but a cheesesteak and fries costing that much is insane. Had the meal blown me away, I would have understood the high price. There may not be many cheesesteak shops in the Bay Area but there are enough where I can compare the quality and price of those shops to this truck. The quality of the sandwiches is definitely similar but the other places are way cheaper. Like I mentioned earlier, if you are going to be a truck that specializes in an American classic and are going to charge a hefty price, then be prepared to impress me. Good portions and fast service for loaded fries. Beef was more like dehydrated chipped beef. The cheese was melted Velveeta. By the way, Velveeta and American cheese are milk products, not cheese. read more

Ordered tenders & fries. Was handed a decent portion in less than a minute. The tenders were nice and crunchy but not fresh. The price listed is $12 but the total charge was for $13.65. Thats a 12.69% "tax." Strange considering that the highest sales tax in the area this business serves is 10.75%. Kinda odd. The tip options listed/suggested were 20%, 22%, and 25% (I believe). Overall, the food definitely got the job done and was tasty. Not fresh but tasty. read more

Friendly staff. Ordered the loaded P. Mushrooms and peppers weren't cooked thoroughly... I expected softer mushrooms and peppers.. ended up waiting til we got home to recook it. Ordered a large frys. They were priced at $7. The total was 7.96. Tax is %9.13 and but they charged a ~13% "tax". I asked about the extra charge and they couldn't explain it. Can't wait until hidden fees are gone! Fry's were lacking in flavor and not fresh. Lesson learned. read more

Bland, no seasoning, very little cheese. I got the Philly Fries, extraordinary disappointing. I gave 2 stars because it was cooked and not raw. But that's about all it has going for it. I ate about 1/4 of the food and couldn't any more. I just went and bought other food. Avoid. read more

i'm a bit late writing this review, but the memory of the delish food is strong, so i wanted to be sure to get it in. p's philly's was one of the food trucks at the oakland museum friday evenings in august. i was looking for something veg, but was also very hungry. i am mostly veg, also eat seafood and rarely eat poultry. i was going to get the veggie philly but the friendly fella working the truck (i think it was john??) suggested the chicken philly so strongly, i went with that. and it was AMAZING. portion was def. a healthy size; the meat was chopped and tender (and seasoned!), perfect proportion of melted cheese and the onions & mushrooms took the flavor to a new level. (plus the bread was tasty too.) i ate it when i got home, so fast i forgot to take a pic. TRUST, if you see this p's philly's foood truck, go for it! read more
