No service issues as the gentleman taking our order was pleasant & our food was ready in a reasonable amount of time, however, the food was not to my liking. The smashburger had an off-putting sweet element I couldn't put my finger on; could've been the bun, sauce, perhaps oil it was cooked in? Crinkle fries weren't quality, & the mozzarella sticks had next to zero cheese inside. Forget about a cheese pull, I basically bit into an empty tube of fried breading. Instead of marinara (always my preference), we were given ranch, as it seemed they were running on a limited menu that night. My companion was not a fan of his chicken wings with a sweet & spicy "candy" sauce. I hate for this review to be an exercise in whiny complaints but food like this is the reason I'm apprehensive to try new eateries. read more

I've been here twice and one experience was awesome and the follow up was so-so. The first experience was for the smash burgers and that really hit the spot. The service was quick as well. The most recent experience was for the smash fries, and it just did not hit the spot. It was lacking flavor, and I feel like I've had better loaded fries at other places. Bay Area Munchiez was one of the food trucks my apartment complex hosted for Food Truck Fridays. If it weren't for this event, I never would have found out about this awesome food truck. I got the samosas and they were amazing! The sauce had a bit of a kick but wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. The samosas were perfectly crispy and not overly greasy. While I loved the samosas, the real reason for 5 stars is the service. When I tried to pay with my card on Apple Pay, it declined twice. I was apologetic and the person who helped me said not to worry about it. Apparently, they were having some issues with Apple Pay. I so appreciated his not making me walk back from BART to my apartment to get my wallet. I hope Apple Pay works next time but I will be sure to bring a physical card or cash if it doesn't. I love a great burger! So I was excited to try Bay Area Munchiez. I ordered a burger. They were a little backed up and busy so I waited a bit which I don't mind! When my food came out, I was excited but once I opened the container, I felt somewhat a little disappointed. It described the burger on a brioche bun. If this is what they called a brioche bun, I am not impressed. It just reminds me of a simple bun you just get at Safeway, it doesn't seem as elegant as what I think of a brioche bun that's poofy and nicely greased with butter. This bun was not happening for me. As for the meat to bun ratio, why is my bun so much bigger than my meat? So by the time I am 3/4th in my sandwich, I felt like I didn't have enough meat to eat my bread. I was excited to read that the smash burger comes with their BAM sauce but what sauce? I felt like they skimp on the sauce so I can't really taste any sauce. Honestly, I felt like the burger was pretty disappointing. They had a lot of shredded lettuce since it was everywhere. I don't recommend the burger, I prefer a burger at other fast food chains over this burger. All their entrees come with fries, so I was excited about the fries. It is sprinkled with some sort of seasoning, maybe cajun seasoning? I really enjoyed the fries, those were significantly better than the burgers. But sorry - I don't think I'll be coming back to this food truck. It didn't wow me. read more

Had the worst experience with these guys. I've been to their truck before but never felt so disrespected. I ordered and paid like normal and got my receipt ticket. Roughly 20 minutes goes by and still no food. Then the next person ordered and got their food before me. So now I've been waiting 30 minutes and no food. When I went back to the counter to ask what happened to my order the guy in the truck had no clue what I was talking about. I showed him my ticket. I was frustrated and the guy gave me attitude and said I should have said something sooner. I had been giving them benefit of the doubt but when the person after me got their food before me is when I knew they messed up. They made no amends to make it better and added insult to injury by being rude to me when I had a valid complaint. Then a second person after me got their food before me. These guys suck and don't deserve your business. Go to the other food trucks where they actually want your patronage and work to earn your money. Munchiez food is overpriced anyways.
