    Groovy Fries $12.00

"Groovy Gorditas" We live in California, the home of everything...."Fusion" let's just say that. And if it isn't that, then sprinkle a "Salt Bae" amount of seasoning to it and make it something slightly different. I have to say that I love it really. It's pretty fun when you can go to an establishment and they put their spin on something that would otherwise probably be considered traditional. That is alive and well here, and I like the fact that you're getting something familiar (to some) yet just different enough to have it stand out. What's so "Groovy" about this establishment on wheels? Well time to find out.. "What's special about Groovy Gorditas?" The fact that they're "Groovy Gorditas" and not just.."Gorditas". Often times when eating a type of food, you can go to another establishment that serves the samething and it's like you already know the menu and what to kinda expect. It's always nice when you get something you think may be common, but you're hit with a little "razzle dazzle" so to speak. They're "Groovy" baby yea, and they've done just enough to stand out and be slightly different. I like the rebel in them, and that's refreshing in the current food scene. "What you should expect...." Good food and fresh and quality ingredients is key, and they knock it out the park here in regards to that. Like what I got which is basically "Carne Asada Fries" but with their groovy spin. I went with their "Groovy Fries" in which you choose your carne (meat I choose carnitas) they load it on a bed of steak fries, and top it with salsa Verde (green) and Roja (red). Then they add some shredded cabbage and Cotija Cheese (Mexican Feta/Parmesan) also nacho cheese sauce. It also comes with Jalapeno and Pico De Gallo, but I opted out of both. For the $12.00 price, I feel you Forsure got your money worth here, only down side..I wish they would use normal cut or shoestring fries instead of the steak cut, they it did make the "Groovy Fries" feel kinda....heavy, and quickly soggy. Non the less they were still good. Washing down with a bottle of "Jarritos" $2.75 (tamarind flavor) it was a well rounded meal. "Conclusion" Groovy Gorditas: Sits off Arnold Industrial Way in Concord, Ca In the Lowe's parking lot. You could follow them on social media to find out more about their pop-up locations. Service: Very great and friendly service, their ordering process is very good as they give you a buzzer when your order is ready, and they thank you for visiting them. Very nice staff indeed. Price Range: I would say between $10 to $30 depending on what you order, how much you're ordering. I know everyone has different levels of appetite. So like most places it really truly varies. But for a simple meal and drink, expect maybe more of the $10 to $15 range.

Their quesabirria are the best I've had. They actually have the fried cheese around the taco. Highly recommend 10/10

$12 + tax burrito smaller than brick and mortar. Very bland with very little meat. They were parked at Lowes in Concord.

Located on Monument Blvd, close to a gas station, it was poppin. There was a small wait, with some music coming from the taco truck, so the wait didn't feel long at all Bad news was they ran out of the Ramen Birria (which I was excited for), so I went for other options. Regardless of a New Mexican spot I try, tacos are a must. I got shrimp and asada tacos. I also went a bit different and tried out their seafood cocktail. Tacos: double tortilla, warm and spicy Same applied to the cocktail: it was very spicy. I couldn't finish it there, but took it home to consume later. Eating and chatting with my friends in the car, we all enjoyed the spot and are willing to give it another visit if possible. I might have to come earlier to get that Ramen birria

I've been looking for a new local taco truck to hit since the Los Rancheros truck cut their hours (they ain't even open on taco Tuesday anymore!! Wtf?). I've been passing by it for at least a month now. Finally stopped by on none other than taco Tuesday to get my taco fix! The gentleman who was working the truck was real cool (can't remember his name). He told me that they just opened up their taqueria around the corner, but the truck will be parked there from 5p-12a everyday. SCORE! Late night street taco fix for the win!!! They had a taco Tuesday special going on: 5 tacos for $10. It's cash only but still a great deal! They also make quesadillas and a few other items too. The tacos are friggin' HUGE! At first I was thinking, 5 street tacos?! Naaaw, I'mma need me about 10 of 'em. But once I felt that heavy plate in my hands, I knew I wasn't gonna be able to finish it. Fully LOADED! He packed these damn tacos up with meat for dear life. Made it all purdy by adding those lovable grilled onions, green peppers, and limes. I ordered two chicken, two steak, and one pastor. The steak were clearly the best. It was marinated extremely well and retained the most flavor out of them all. The al pastor was also pretty good. The chicken was on the drier side and didn't have much flavor. I'd skip the chicken next time. Also, they could have used a lot more salsa. I'm not used to street tacos being packed with this much meat, but maybe that's why they seemed to lack a bit of flavor. It just needed a bit more flavor and a little more of a kick. Some spicy salsa would probably do the trick. Other than that, the tacos were pretty good and cheap at $2 a piece on Tuesday. Not sure how much they're regularly priced, but their taco Tuesday is an excellent deal. I'm excited to try their actual taqueria soon too. I can foresee many more visits to this truck in the future. Next time, I'll be trying out their quesadillas.

The salad was ok as well, but I didn't like all of the cheese on top and the dressing was freshly made. I like melted cheese and for it to be melted, it needs to be hot. I could have had a little less on my salad because I was eating it for the veggies. I got an arepa - the pork belly one and it was okay as well. The beans were a touch cold, not an issue, and the avocado was fresh and tasted good. I don't like tomatoes, but the slices were thick and juicy. My husband enjoyed them. My thing is that there was no "WOW" factor with this meal. It was good and did its job (filled me up0, and I was safe (didn't get sick), but it's not the kind of place that I'd make a special trip to see. The place was fine, the people working there were nice, but I don't know if a return visit is warranted.

This review is for their food truck at Pleasant Hill BART…read more I stopped by on my lunch break earlier this week but wasn't sure what to order. They recommended the pork belly arepa ($17) but I am no longer enjoying the fatty and crisp textures of pork belly, so I asked the lady who'd confidently ordered just before me for her recommendation. "Get the cheese cachapa, it's delicious and filling," she said. So I did, but I got one with shredded beef instead of cheese-only ($15). My cachapa - a Venezuelan sweet corn pancake filled with melted cheese - took about 10 mins to prepare, and it was thick and huuuuge! I changed my mind about eating it al fresco at one of the tables near the food truck, and took it back to the office instead. Back at the office, I ate the cachapa slowly, with the plastic fork and knife they'd thoughtfully provided. There wasn't much beef in it, and it was crisp, sweet and verrrrry filling. I made myself some coffee to sidestep the food coma that was sure to follow, and got back to work! Will return to try other items when they're back.
