Completely understand that there can always be issues and it was nice to get an explanation for the long wait and below par food. Always willing to give someone another chance when deserved!!! ********************************************************************************************************************* I SO wanted to love this food truck. Three of us went for lunch in San Ramon today and you could tell that they were having problems. We ordered 1 burger and 3 munchie tots between us and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. The tots themselves were cooked perfect, but to be honest I expected the cheese to be melted and the onions to be grilled so they were just ok, and I didn't get any spicy sauce. My friend's jalapeno tots weren't great either, just a scoop of cream cheese on top, not melted at all and just wasn't flavorful at all. When my other friend bit into her burger is was raw in the middle and she just tossed it. No time to go back and complain, so we are just out the money. Just not cool for having waited so long. I would have only given them 1 star except that the guys in the truck were so nice and kept apologizing for the wait and were really trying. We go to the trucks here once a week and were hoping to put them in our rotation, but across the board we all said we won't be back.

On the date of the event, she & her partner arrived early and set up, and even helped me set up where they could. The margaritas were a hit! Kandace is a bomb bartender. I think the problem is that I couldn't get past the lack of a restroom in the area. They had some portables, but they are making food and we are supposed to eat it. Where are they washing their hands? This area is also pretty cold so if you go, make sure that you have a coat, scarf and hat. I'll never make that mistake again. But because of the cold, I didn't want to eat outside so our food got a cold, but it was good. My husband liked the food he got, but gluten free options are super limited. They get a third star because of the bar! Now there was only one person working there and that's fine because he could go get a snack or something and come back to pour drinks, but again. The restroom issue. Where does he wash his hands, what if he has a cold and sneezes into them, and so on. That's where my mind went. The vendors are quite nice and were helpful and weren't mean when they answered my GF questions and I appreciate that. So, this is like the little engine that could. I can see that it is a gathering spot for people and they have music and speakers which is cool. So I saw and felt a community vibe and people really seemed to like going. If I lived in the area, I may try it a bit more, but in all honestly, Oakland Museum's Off the Grid event is everything I wish this was. I'm sure that they will get there, but don't want to hang out while they figure it out.

I may have to give them another chance. Street Steam Bunz was the food truck of the day, and we ordered rice bowls with bulgogi beef and chicken katsu. Both were served with fried rice, ginger, and pickled cucumbers, and everything was delicious. A great way to spend a Sunday. Five Suns and Street Steam Bunz both earn five stars from me.

Their menu had several selections available to address various types of appetites. Their prices were acceptable and, as I would soon discover, would be well worth my choice choosing their truck over the others that were present. I admit that my food preferences sway toward BBQ. Their potato salad and beans were wonderful and customized. The beef sandwich, however, was the best I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. This is a phrase I do not state easily. Their BBQ was far more than simply combining meat with a BBQ on a bun for profit. It was as though they were able to extract the care and love a smoker were to possess and combine it into their food. I have never experienced such a well created meal. Chilly Willy's Smokehouse BBQ is the pentacle of BBQ. I cannot imagine any other establishments reaching their level of excellence.
