I really enjoyed the flavors in the 2 item combo that I got. I chose the spicy pork and the fried chicken. The pork was spicy but flavors were good. I loved the fried chicken (this is the one that they usually give as a sample). The kimchi is a nice touch. They give good portions and I was able to eat the leftovers as a whole meal. This isn't a sit down restaurant- just a stall in the mall food court. Plenty of nearby seating. Also, the food is already prepared and you just pick from the hot food table. Ok so I totally forgot to take photos of the food but we had plenty of it. We went at the end of the day for dinner and it's located in the food court of the mall. There are a lot of places to sit once you pick up your food. It's pretty loud since it's in the malls This place is cafeteria style, the food is all out for you to choose from. The person working was super friendly! I gave this place a 3 because the deep fried chicken and shrimp were overly cooked and extremely dry. The fried chicken was very thin. Didn't even think it had chicken inside. We ordered beef bulgogi which was very tender and filled with flavor. The fried red chicken had a lot of flavor but it felt like the ratio from meat to batter wasn't great. The rice cakes in chili was interesting... it tasted a bit like spaghettiOs... the texture of the dish was like a squishy tasting gnocchi. The japchae was filled with flavor. At first the texture threw me of but afterwards you are hit with great taste. The tofu was so good. For a place that's in the mall, it's ok. This food surprised me. The meat was flavorful and seasoned good and was not tough. The teoboki surprisingly good. The color threw me off, typically when I've had it. It's more of a vibrant red color. But this was no exception, the flavor was good. The girl sold me cold and clearly not fresh fried shrimp (for $7 for only 4 pieces at that) and when I told her about it she just said "ok thanks" and went about her day. Getting straight to the point, the food is a bit on the sweet side. It's not bad though, did a half and half of rice and noodles with their fried chicken. Looks like most of the flavors are either sweet or spicy. Also got the mashed potatoes and even that was sweet. Service was fast and pleasant. The cashiers were wonderful and communicated well with you. It's a restaurant in a food court so that's as much "ambiance" as you are allowed . Shockingly good for mall food. I would go so far as to say this is the best place to eat in Sun Valley Mall's food court. I don't typically like to eat Korean food a la carte or any format that isn't all you can eat, but I'm not particularly fond of either of Concord's options for those in Gen and Ohgane. In a pinch, Plus 82 is arguably (but not definitively) as good as it gets in this town for Korean food. I find their galbi chicken to be consistently flavorful and good. Their bulgogi can be great one day and kind of mix the next. If you get a bowl with only one entree to save money, pick the galbi chicken. Goes pretty good with the potato salad on the side. Their kimchi inconsistent - as with the bulgogi, it can be complementary with your protein one day but smell and taste rancid the next. Nowadays, I don't even bother with it anymore. read more

Given that I had only gotten 1 thing here + a can of Pepsi Zero, this review is solely based on the Galbi Fried Chicken. It was good chicken! This may be a mall food court restaurant, but it could pass as a dine-in restaurant quality food. The chicken had that authentic Korean fried chicken feel & flavor to it as well as the sauce that was on it. The chicken was still pretty crunchy, considering it was just in a food warmer! And the serving of a small box was still a decent portion, in which was only less than $6! This is a hidden gem!! I would not expect mall food to be this good. It's super affordable, you get a TON of food, and it's tastes amazing considering the cost/quantity/location. They have a decent amount of options to choose from and by the time you've completed building your plate, you're left with a mountain of goodness to dive into. Everything tastes fresh and there's no indication of skimping out on the quality of ingredients to serve such a large amount at such an affordable price. Am I saying this is gonna be some of the best Korean food out there? By no means. We don't live close yet we come here about 3 or 4 times a month. Just for the food. And we live in Berkeley. There are lots of good Korean places to eat, but I love the flavors and variety of this little hole in the wall place at Sun Valley Mall. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is fantastic. If you haven't tried Korean food before, this is the perfect place to go. FOOD: The variety is solid! You start off a plate with your choice of japchae (glass noodles) / steamed rice / or half and half. The japchae is excellent, but I cannot live without rice so I go half and half. Your choice of entree ranges from mild to spicy and fried to bbq. All of which so far have been delicious. We've tried the bulgogi, pork jaeyuk, galbi fried chicken, spicy fried chicken, spicy bbq chicken, and coma chicken. All good, but my fav is pork jaeyuk (basically spicy pork). Kim chee chunks are a bit big, but flavorful without being TOO hot (but they are hot). SERVICE: Everyone here is SO nice! And they are very helpful. If you don't know your Korean food, just ask and they are happy to help and to offer samples. COST: More than worth it. I always order extra just because the drive is so far and I like it so much. When I approached the counter, one of the employees asked if I wanted to try any samples, and they offered this to anyone who stopped by the stall. I ordered a small box to-go box of tteokbokki, which is spicy rice cake, red sauce, and fish cake. The small containers are $3.99 and the large size is $6.99. Right next to the stall is Koko Chicken which sells mozzarella corn dogs, and I heard dipping the corn dog into tteokbokki sauce is a popular pairing, so I had to try it out. The texture of the rice cake was soft and chewy, and would definitely get again. Service was great, too. All the employees were helpfully. We went to this place at noon on a Friday, and as expected, the food cord was not too busy because it was a weekday. However, I noticed that there seemed to be one business that really stood out and got the most customers, and it was this Plus 82 Korean BBQ. The food that they served looked fresh and appetizing. For their meal combination, they offered three options: One entrée meal priced at $9, two entrée meal priced at $12, and three entrée meal priced at $15. We decided to get to of the two entrée meals. Now for the food, I thought it was pretty delicious. For the first meal, I chose beef bulgogi and spicy pork. For the second one, I opted for also beef bulgogi and spicy BBQ chicken. Of all the three entrées that I chose, I liked their spicy pork the best, and the spicy BBQ chicken next. Both had a really nice balance of spicy and sweet, yet still very very savory. The pork was thinly sliced, and therefore very tender, and the chicken was great too and nicely grilled, showing some charred marks. The beef bulgogi was pretty good, I thought the way they thinly sliced meat was perfect, and the flavor was savory with a lot of sweetness to it as well; really delicious. However, one thing that I did not like about the beef Bulgogi was I thought the meat was a little bit more on the dry side despite the sauce it came with. For the side, I opted for both streamed rice and Korean glass noodle or japchae. The japchae noodles had a very nice consistency and were still bouncy, but I thought the flavor could've been better, I felt like I needed a little bit more sweetness in the flavor, as the predominant flavor that I got was salty. We were also given the option to choose an extra side with each meal, either kimchi or potato salad. Given that was my first visit, of course I had to try both of them, and so I did. The kimchi was absolutely delicious, it was more on the sweeter side, yet still had that kimchi tangy flavor, and the cabbage still retained it's crunch. It was perfect with the rice, japchae or any entrée that I ordered. The potato salad was just OK to me, because I personally am not really a big fan of potato salad to begin with, so I might not be the best judge when it comes to it. But if it's just between the two, I would definitely choose the kimchi any day. I thought the food court was clean and organized. I thought the service was top-notch, for example, when we ordered the beef bulgogi, the staff asked whether or not we wanted some of the Bulgogi sauce over the rice, and I really appreciated that option. I thought it was a nice offer. Overall, I was really happy with my dining experience here, and I would definitely go back to try their other food. read more

I finally got to try this place since the food court in the Sunvalley Mall was revamping their selections. I missed the old Korean bbq the mall had, so was happy to see another one opened up. I went fairly early today when. It was empty, so there was no line. The menu is simple, you can order a la carte or they have a combo menu of 1/2/3 entrees with a side. I opted for the jumbo combo (3 + 1) and the price after tax was around $16. As you can tell by the picture, they packed a lot of food into the togo container. Beef Bulgogi: This was flavorful and delicious. It tasted what I expected and there was an ample serving of meat. It was not too salty and I was pleased to eat this. Pork Jeyuk: This is practically spicy pork and one of my favorite Korean dishes to eat. It was not too spicy and packed quite a punch of flavor for me. I truly enjoyed this one the most. Spicy Fried Chicken: This one was a little bit too spicy for me. Can't such much about it cause my tastebuds, once overwhelmed with a spice, doesn't taste much of anything anymore for that one item. Still, from what I had, was very good. Side Dishes: The japchae tasted like expected and both the kimchi and potato salad paired well with everything. All in all, not a bad price to pay. Considering this is mall food, extra bonus star! Plus 82 is located in the Sunvalley food court (bottom floor, next to JCP). This food court has ample seating, and it just looks super clean and inviting. Plus 82 is all the way in the back left, next to KOKO chicken and corn dogs (new - same owner). I opted for the 3 item combo because I wanted to try as many things as possible. Each plate comes with your choice of japchae, steamed rice, or half and half, as well as a side. I chose kimchi and potato salad. I went with all jap chae, cause I have steamed rice at home! lol and for my entrees i chose the spicy bbq chicken, spicy fried chicken, and the pork bulgogi. They list the pork bulgogi as another name, but that's basically what it was. It's not spicy. The spicy bbq chicken looked sooooooo good, but it was actually my least fav of the 3 options. The spicy fried chicken though! - FIRE! it was the perfect spice level for me, and the taste was just WOW, chef's kiss! Please keep in mind that these items are sitting in hot trays under the lamp, so the fried, saucy items may be a little bit more soggy than as if they were freshly made. It wasn't overly soggy for me though, so use your best judgement when you see it. The pork bulgogi was decent, but I think I just prefer a little bit more spicy in my food. The pork they use is thinly sliced and a little fatty, but hey, fat = flavor. The japchae wasn't bad, but it was all noodles. A traditional japchae has a lot of fresh veggies but this one had zero! The flavor was good though, just FYI. The kimchi and potato salad were ehhhh.The kimchi didn't taste fermented at all. It wasn't sour, spicy, or anything close to a traditional kimchi but I ate it anyways cause veggies. The potato salad on the other hand, I tossed. It really was just empty cals. It didn't taste like anything, which I was super disappointed about. The workers here are super nice and they answered all my questions with a great attitude. They packed my food well (3rd entree was in a separate container), and they included utensils and napkins and everything for me in my to go bag. This is our 2nd time here this year because my daughter and her husband like it and that's saying a lot because they are selective. We ordered a bowl ($10.95) of japchae noodles with goma chicken and mashed potatoes on top. Then we ordered two item plates of japchae, beef bulgi and spicy pork and japchae with spicy pork and goma chicken both with kimchee on top ($12.95 each for two item plate). Yes as everyone else mentioned, staff is nice. If you're not sure what to order - ask for a sample and they will let you try it (in a little paper cup with a toothpick) so you can't go wrong. We sampled the spicy pork because we wanted to know how spicy it was as we don't like it too spicy but it wasn't (at least for our taste). So you have a choice of plain white rice or japchae noodles and we chose the japchae noodles because it is so good. Besides we can always cook white rice if we want to. Tried this after seeing the amazing reviews for this place but was unfortunately let down. Ordered the plate (2 sides, 2 entrees) and got beef bulgogi, spicy pork, japchae, and a scoop of potato salad. Everything except the potato salad was a bit salty for my taste. Beef bulgogi was a bit sweeter than I would've liked, but I still preferred it to the pork. The pork was oily and the flavor profile did not compare to other spicy pork I've had. Japchae was pretty good - I wish I had gotten half half japchae and rice though as the rice probably would've gone better with the entrees. For $15 a plate in the Bay, it is still pretty value as portions are quite big. Also I was a bit annoyed because the server was coughing slightly when scooping our food and didn't bother to turn away. Would've been nice if she had worn a mask. They give large portions as this is my 3rd time here. My go to items are japche, beef bulgogi, Gorma chicken, galbi chicken, and some kimchee for extra spice. This place is too good for this mall. $15.95 for a 3 item and $12.95 for a two. Very friendly staff whom offers suggestions and can answer any question if you're unsure of the food. First off, we really needed something quick, so this was another reason we came but I guess I came after regular lunch hours so I got the bottom of the bottom on all the food. Beef bugogi- I had very small scraps that was wayyy overly salty. Also very overcooked and dry. Fried chicken - it was mushy and a lot of breading also very salty. Rice was the bottom of the barrel and super hard. Japchae was the only item that seemed okay. It was hot at least. This was a bit disappointing since I love Korean food. :( read more

I got the two entree combo plate. For the entree I ordered fish cake and fried chicken. For sides the japchae and potato salad. Everything was sweet and salty. I should've gotten half japchae and white rice. Something to give my mouth a break from the sweet/salty food. The potato is sweet but not salty so I had some with every bite.
