Papaya Salad
Jane C.

Decided to finally try this Thai and Lao fusion place! Food was authentic and reminded of home cooking. The khao poon was very flavorful and had thick noodle and my favorite dish. Papaya salad was light and refreshing, like a Thai style. The angle wings were crispy with a sweet sauce/glaze on it. It was my first time trying Nam Khao and it was crispy, crunchy with unique flavor. The flavors balanced together with the crunchy rice, salty and sour from the fermented pork and refreshing from the veggies. Food was cooked fast and service was great. We went around 5pm on a Sunday so it wasn't super crowded. It was also very clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommend!

Nam Khao and Lao sausages with Thai ice tea

Oh my God this place is amazing. The sausage was crispy yet juicy and very flavorful. The sausage came with was amazing. The nam khao salad. Just omg. I got a little spicier, but the flavor was on point and it's satisfied every craving. The staff were super helpful in the place was minimum but pretty. I really enjoyed the time. Have a nice little. I'm away from home. I'm definitely coming back. The food alone is making me give it five stars. The Thai tea was different from what I've had before, but it wasn't bad.

Crispy Vietnamese Style Egg Roll

Tried Stix eatery and really enjoyed it! The curry was rich and flavorful with the right amount of spice, and the pad thai had that perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The egg rolls were crispy and fresh, great starter to the meal. Friendly service and clean spot -- everything came out hot and tasty. Definitely a nice mix of Thai and Viet flavors, worth coming back for! Highly recommend to try

Garlic noodles and salmon

I wanted to try a new Thai place so my friend and I came here. We ordered: Wings - these were very flavorful Bbq mix plate - the pork was my favorite, but the beef was also cooked really well. Honorable mention to just how big the portion was! Garlic noodles - we added salmon and the chunk of salmon was gigantic. My friend liked the sauce, where-as it wasn't quite my favorite. Overall, really good food and the portions are gigantic. One note for me personally is that this feels more like a takeout place, not a place to hang out and eat.

Drunken noodles w/ beef

This has to be one of best Thai food spots in the Bay Area! The food is so flavorful. The business is family owned. The menu is extensive and delicious! So much variety! We had the Garlic Fried Rice w/ beef, Drunken Noodles w/ Beef, Eggplant Chicken, and the BBQ Combo platter that comes with chicken, beef and pork. We asked for everything to be extra spicy except for the BBQ combo. It was so bomb! The service was good and fast. They kept checking in and were so sweet to our baby. Will definitely get again!

This place is a bomb. Me and my wife are very picky about Thai food and this place met our expectations way beyond. Been coming here all the time. The customer service is really good. The only thing they are missing is customers who supposed to be trying their amazing food.

How to turn a first time customer to a never returning customer. The food is simply bad. No redeeming qualities in any of the dishes at all. Check out the photo of "crab" rangoons. I mean I did not expect a real crab meat of course, but these disgusting bits of burned dough do not have anything inside expect for a 1/4 teaspoon cream cheese. The noodles are the most bland dish I have had in months. Could not even spare a splash of soy sauce and a pat of butter? In the times when small businesses fight for a paying customer, this place does not seem to care at all. Well, likewise.

Stix Eatery used to be a table-service restaurant at Willow Pass Rd, but the pandemic caused it to tranform into a quick-serve outlet at Monument Blvd. It's a smaller space now but in spite of the move, one thing remained big - the taste of their food. Crispy Drunken Noodles (Chicken) - This is also known as Pad Kee Mao in most Thai restaurant menus. Stir-fried in a savory sweet and spicy sauce, they made this classic dish stand out with the crispy wide noodles. The added texture made this an absolute winner. They put their spin on it but kept the authenticity intact. Crispy Drunken Noodles (Chicken) - It's that special that it needed another rundown. They really had me at crispy. This alone is worthy of the 5-star rating. If you live within a 35-mile radius, take the drive and you will not be disappointed. Thai BBQ Combo - Grilled pork, chicken, and tri-tip served on top of steamed broccoli with a side of sweet and spicy sauce. The marinade was excellent as this came out very tasty. Can't go wrong with garlic, cilantro, and lemongrass. The tri-tip was very tender. Cucumber Salad - Of course I got outvoted again for another meat dish, but this turned out to be a fine choice. It had sliced cucumbers and red onions topped with julienned carrots and crushed peanuts then some sweet vinaigrette dressing to complete the mix. It was very refreshing... and I got my veggies in! Red Curry (Beef) - This had plenty of vegetables also - bamboo shoots, eggplant, carrots, peas, and red bell pepper. Very aromatic and had balanced flavor - just enough heat and the coconut milk was not overpowering. Crispy Pata - Another popular Southeast Asian favorite, this deep-fried treat originated from my homeland! Crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. It was good but was not as well-seasoned as the ones I've had elsewhere. We've only scratched the surface here since we have not yet given the Laotian side some love. It's like we happen to keep on scratching the same surface because we always get the Crispy Drunken Noodles. Chances are, we'll do it again. Yes, it's that good!

My parents, partner, and I stopped in after a day's outing. The interior is plain, just simple table setups in front of the kitchen. Though it was empty, they were definitely popular bc the phone orders were ringing like crazy the entire time. Our dishes came out around 20~ mins later. We split these family-style: - VEGETARIAN EGG ROLL (your standard egg roll w/mixed veg, crisped well) - CRAB FRIED RICE (small pieces of crab but BIG crab flavor) - PAD WOON SEN (savory & sweet...! Modestly filling) - SWEET RICE WITH MANGO (is the green pandan...? Forgot to ask. Ripe mango & super chewy rice) LOVE the food but DAMN is it hot in here. Props to the staff working in this heat with no A/C all day bc this is BOILING. Next time I'll do pickup instead.

Stix is the best little Thai place in concord. Just be warned there is no public bathroom sign... the place has the best food and the best tasting food. We always get the pad se ew and it slaps.. the spicy flavors are amazing. We also always get the drunken noodle "not pictured" but it's always crispy and tasty. Our go to Thai restaurant

The food is absolutely tasteless. I got the wonton soup and the garlic rice. I'm round Filing them. Not worth eating.

Love stix eatery! Comfort Thai food and no frills We come here about once every month for a large family dinner. Place is quite small so plan accordingly. I loveeee their drunken noodle - it's crispy thick noodles! I personally like their red curry as well because it has a kick. I also enjoy the volcano fish - crispy with sweet and sour sauce. Their eggplant dishes are pretty solid as well. Though their chicken dishes are a little dry but nothing like peanut sauce helps a long way.

Perfect lunch on a hot day. Jasmine ice tea with pork banh mi and pineapple fired rice. Stix does everything well. I eat here at least once a week.

We checked on via Waitlist app on their ipad (You can check in online as well prior to coming). It said the wait would be 6 to 16 mins long. We waited less than 5. We sat at the bar, which is towards the back of the restaurant. We did not mind though because we usually get a table. Our waitress was June and she was super nice. She obtained our orders not too long after we sat. She also kept the mimosas flowing (You get 60 mins to enjoy). She was very personable and kept is smiling and laughing the entire time. We also met Jay who briefly serviced us, but talked with me throughout our time there. He was super nice too. Our food arrived hot and exactly how we ordered it. Everything tasted so good. I ordered a California Burger and my wife ordered a omlette, ciabatta bread and potatoes. We were both very satisfied. Lol..I had to take gimme half of my burger and fries tho because I got full. My personal favorites were the mango sago and the pork adobo. I grabbed a bunch of onigiris to go and we even ordered more food to go. The mango sticky rice drink goes as well as you can expect with sticky rice trying to be sucked through a straw , but nonetheless delicious . By the time I got to the bingsu I barely had room I was so full. Same owners as Yifang, Super nice couple. Everything was clean. We carried my baby's stroller up the stairs when we got there and they told us about the side ramp so we didn't have to carry him out again which was considerate and thoughtful . Hoping to come back again soon for some more mango sago!

Not much flavor :/ We also got their strawberry sago. Which I would of gotten that instead because that tasted better than what I got If you order that maybe eat it there because has no flavor and not sure if they have ice in it but it's just taste like a watered down mess! I thought it had condensed milk or something else. Probably would have tasted better if I ate it there and did not melt. There was no taro paste tho either. So I took away two stars but the sago was really good. Service staff seemed friendly when we asked questions. The picture looked like there was some kinda milk of something mixed with the bowl but it's just ice. Kinda misleading. The drinks look good and the sago is good but I don't think I'll be buying the bowl again.

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in the area, but one thing really sets this place apart: the sushi rice. The fish is always fresh, but what makes the biggest difference is the rice. Not too hard, too vinegary, too hot, or too cold if you know what I mean -- perfect texture and balance. The service is consistently good, and they offer a happy hour menu every day that's very affordable for a Japanese restaurant. We'll keep coming back again and again.

I love tempura, and tofu, so planned on the lunch combo. When they told me the tofu is deep fried, I hesitatingly chose sesame chicken, hesitant only because sesame chicken seems more Chinese than Japanese to me. Excellent, quick service as always. Good salad, good soup. The sesame chicken was better than I expected. But the tempura was inconsistent. And, what's weird, is to judge something for being too generous a portion. It was a big floret of broccoli and either squash or pumpkin, both good. A good shrimp. A huge onion ring, but they left the outer skin layer of onion on, and it stayed tough, couldn't bite through it, so i just got a long fibrous onion string, the coating fell off the rest, leaving me with warm onion. And, the serving included a ¾-inch think plank of white potato... way too thick for tempura veggies. I'd have been happier with less overall if the veggies were cut thinner, prepared better. Still plan on returning, but will probably stick with the excellent Kaisen Don, maybe try some appetizers, at future visits. And I still plan to go try dinner there.
