Came here tonight with a big group of friends and overall we enjoyed the food. My favorite dish was definitely the salt and pepper pork chop--very tasty and perfectly crunchy. We also ordered the green beans, Singapore noodles, Mongolian beef, walnut shrimp, and egg foo-young, and most of the dishes were flavorful and satisfying. We had a group of about 30 people and arrived around 9 PM, which understandably overwhelmed the staff, so the food came out later than expected. Despite the wait, the flavors made up for it. The only dish that didn't stand out for me was the Mongolian beef--it was mostly just spicy and lacked the balance I was hoping for. My wife found China Chef by ordering from a delivery service for dinner to order for our toddler son. She didn't ask me before ordering and chose dishes like salt and pepper shrimp and fried rice. Our son loves fried rice and will usually eat any type of protein with this dish. My wife ordered beef and broccoli as well to try a new Chinese restaurant with good reviews. We all really liked the food, the fried rice is packed with flavor and the salt and pepper shrimp was really well fried and seasoned. We liked this restaurant and ordered takeout soon after our first delivery service. I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops for a takeout order while including fried rice for our boy. We all liked the food and the sesame balls for dinner are a good dessert. This place is great at frying proteins and making your takeout orders in a hurry! I went into China Chef to see if they still had a lunch special. The lady made me feel like a third rate citizen. I don't know if it's my blonde hair or my electric bike. I don't think we have any cultural differences. Everybody in the immediate area is really friendly. The lady looked at me and sternly said no. She looked down and made a very apparent sigh of anger like I interrupted her working on a physics project or something. I said "OK maybe I'll come in earlier tomorrow." In reality wanted to write a review. I was a customer service supervisor. It's not that difficult of a concept to master. She was extremely rude and made me feel horrible. I'm a good judge of character, and our interaction was horrific. Ig this is the way you treat your customers, I wonder how much patience and respect you have for your food. I will never come back. For less than 20 dollars, we got salad, hot and sour soup, and our entre. Today I got Mongolia three ways with chow mein. It was a large portion and brought leftovers home. Much more worth it compared to a small plate at panda express. Overall, I enjoy this place ALOT more than the food options at nearby mall. The hot and sour soup was hot, in temperature, overly salty, brown water with a little tofu, maybe a half dozen matchstick bamboo pieces, and threads of wood ears that I tried to fish for at the bottom of the container. I tried to eat a couple spoonfuls but it was just straight bad. Singapore noodles were the same. Bland. Sad. Kind of tasted like if La Croix came out with a curry flavor of sparkling water and if you really use the power of your imagination, there might be a hint of flavor.
