I only come to this location for the lunch specials with my family on Sundays The resturant is in a quiet shopping plaza near the sun Valley mall. The ambiance is a dark room with the lights off the entire time. Staff doing utensils in the same room as the customers. Some weekends are busier than others. This past weekend, there is no one in the dining room except for me and my family. Staff is usually attentive to our family needs. For less than 20 dollars, we got salad, hot and sour soup, and our entre. Today I got Mongolia three ways with chow mein. It was a large portion and brought leftovers home. Much more worth it compared to a small plate at panda express. Overall, I enjoy this place ALOT more than the food options at nearby mall. The hot and sour soup was hot, in temperature, overly salty, brown water with a little tofu, maybe a half dozen matchstick bamboo pieces, and threads of wood ears that I tried to fish for at the bottom of the container. My rule usually is, maybe it was a bad day, and the food is not always this bad. I will usually go back and give the place a second chance. The food from this restaurant was so bad, on so many levels I will not be using that rule this time. The Pot Stickers were burnt, dry and tasteless. Moo Shu pork pancakes were ok, but we received them with two torn 1/3 to 1/2 through the cake. The filling itself again, like the Pot Stickers was tasteless redeemed slightly by the sauce that comes with it. With two disappointments out of the way that brings us to the Hong Kong style Chow Mein. This dish should be renamed to a more appropriate description of the dish. Frist thing that comes to mind is Some Sort of Soup Poured Over Burnt Noodles. This dish was absolutely horrible. The gravy (sauce) was as thin as water with no flavor. The vegetables were soggy as if they were boiled as soup instead of being wok fried. Now it's time to end this misadventure with Pork Fried Rice. Instead of being fluffy (or semi such) it was pasty much like Japanese sticky rice with clumps of white rice in it.
