    Happy Family Delight

So my beautiful wife and I, were looking all over Yelp for some great Chinese food. We found it at Ming's! Their luncheon menu is priced right and quite extensive! 2 pages of great lunch choices! We picked lemon chicken and happy family delight. Two solid dishes! We did take out too, Mongolian Beef and Broccoli Beef, also two great options! We will definitely be back, in the near future' Great food, great service and very ADA friendly! Overall : 30/10!

Lunch special - bitter melon beef with fish fillets, egg roll and chow mein. Also came with soup.

Very good basic Cantonese food, very fresh and presented in an appealing way. It's a small cozy place, nicely decorated, and is located in a shopping area with plenty of parking. I had the lunch special, fish fillets with bitter melon in black bean sauce. It's one of my favorites! You don't often find this and I was so happy to see it on the lunch menu! Hubby had the beef chow fun which was solid. The service here is great. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. Hubby was just getting out of an appointment nearby and I told them he wouldn't get here until 5 minutes before closing but they said to have him come anyway, they would cook up his food now and to take his time. What great service!

First time here and the food was pretty solid. Started with the West Lake minced beef soup and also had the beef chow fun and the shrimp with lobster sauce. The soup might have been the best version I have had - small bits of carrot, water chestnuts, and mushrooms made every spoonful delicious. The beef chow fun had a good wok hei flavor. Will need to try other dishes

We went to Ming's in Pleasant Hill after seeing many great reviews. The restaurant's appearance is very nice, both outside and inside. We stopped in to try their weekend lunch specials. The staff was very friendly and quickly refilled our tea kettle with hot water. The Sweet and Sour Soup was a great start. My Crispy Ginger Chicken was excellent, though I did ask for extra spicy sauce to give it more heat. My wife loved her Yu Shaing Chicken. The restaurant is super clean and well decorated. We completely enjoyed the experience and the food.

Mings is a classic for a reason! Been ages since I have dined in. Great fast service with classic American Chinese dishes. We started with pot stickers and sizzling rice soup (my fav). Their crab ragoons are also great! The Mongolian beef could have been spicer but was good. Love the garlic chicken and broccoli with white sauce. Their fried rice has tons of flavor. The hong noodles are the fav- crispy noodles that soften in a delish sauce with tons of meat.

What a nice suprise in my Hot and Sour soup.

May 31 2025 3.5 Stars My Son has been braging about Ming's so here we go. We ordered like four typical Americans. The Hits: 1) It is a small clean shop. Two bathrooms. Fast service. Not noisy (aside from my wife). The food servings look beautiful. 2) Hot and Sour Soup. As good as the best. Suprise! It has shrimp. 3) Honey Walnut Prawns-delicious. A large serving of plump prawns with plenty to share. Has walnuts up the Ying Yang. 4) House Special Fried Rice. Nothing special here but near as good as any I've had. The Misses: 1) Sweet and Sour Pork. Smallish pieces of somewhat dry pork with dry breading. Chewy. The sauce is not very sweet and seems a bit vinegary to me. 3) Salt and Pepper Calamari. Too crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We asked for some sauce to try and save it to avail. 4) They put the rush on us to eat faster. The waitress spilled soup on the table and my plate in the process of pouring our soup unasked.. 5) Something made me feel uneasy both mentally and physically after eating here. I'm guessing msg but that's just a guess. 6) The waiter awkwardly holds and runs your payment credit card in front of you. He watches while asking electronically for a large percentage tip. You need to choose "custom tip" and then $0.00 if you want to leave cash like we do. Pro tips: 1) It is very easy to drive past the entrance which necessitates an extra mile and a U-Turn. 2) Don't take resturaunt advice from my Son.

When we walked in, no staff was out front, so we stood around a bit before we were seated. The staff quickly disappeared again, and throughout our meal, they were usually disappeared somewhere in the back. If you want something quick like extra utensils or napkins, you may need to wait a bit before someone appears. When ordering, we wanted to try both the Beef Buzz ($14.99) and the Fried Beef Buzz ($15.99). The lady who took our order said they were the same thing, and offered to just give us one half/half order instead of ordering two of essentially the same dish. We agreed to that offer, but she didn't mention anything about how that'll be charged. Of course, we ended up being charged the higher price of $15.99. Not a huge deal, but some better communication there would've been appreciated. We also ordered the Beef Huushuur ($14.99). The Beef Huuchuur arrived first, and it didn't look anything like we expected. The photos from online reviews all looked it'd come in an empanada shape, but it actually came in a large, flat, circular shape. They were all laying against one another in a slanted position, and it made all the oil pool in the bottom of the dish, and the pieces that were covered became very oily and soggy underneath. The parts of the dough that weren't soggy were wonderfully crispy and delicious though. It'd make a significantly better difference if the Huuchuur were placed spread out from each other instead of lying on top of each other to maintain the crispiness on all surfaces. The beef filling was nicely seasoned and well flavored. The Beef Buzz had essentially the same filling as the Huuchuur, but different exterior. Unfortunately, I still have the same opinions of it being way too oily overall. The non-fried pieces sometimes broke apart at the bottom due to the sogginess. The fried version did not have a crispy texture at the bottom either, I'm guessing due to the excess amount of oil on the dish. Again, the flavors were great, but execution and presentation definitely has room for improvement. In summary, this was a great introduction to Mongolian dumplings for me. Very delicious flavors, and I'd love to try Huuchuurs again in the future because I love crispy fried foods with a good texture. However, I'd probably look for a place that goes way more easy on the oil.

He is literally the slowest cook i've ever had the displeasure of witnessing in all of my Mongolian BBQ experiences. He took 4-5 minutes to cook each bowl. It felt like I was watching a nightmare in slow motion...From preparing our bowls to getting it cooked, it took 20 minutes. They put out appetizers on our table immediately. By the time we got to eat at our table, the soup , rice and potstickers were cold. I asked for water and tea. My water & tea arrived 10 min after I ordered. All of the workers seemed very disoriented. I do commend the only asian worker in the restaurant. He always made sure the meats, vegetables and sauces were well stocked and fresh. However, after today's experience, I am going to have to rethink my support. My wife and I went here on a Sunday late afternoon. It was surprisingly crowded, which normally is a good sign that the business is doing well. Unfortunately, that was part of the problem today. Again, as long as things are efficient and fair, I have no issue waiting for my food to be cooked. We got in line, the server took our drink order, and we began the process of picking our food. We came to a standstill as there were about 6 people ahead of us. Normally, this isn't an issue, as they will add a second cook to expedite things. For a few minutes, there were two people cooking; however, after he prepared two bowls, he disappeared to the back, not to be seen again. So now our wait time has just doubled. In the meantime, our sever has put our soup and rice on the table, which will be lukewarm by the time our food is prepared. Again, I can live with that, as the server was moving as fast as he could. We hadn't moved for 10 minutes now, as the cook decided it was time to clean the wok, a 5 minute process. Ok, I understand at some point it has to be cleaned. It's just unfortunate it has to get done while there's a big line (there are now four people behind us, and still just one person cooking). The straw that broke the camel's back, however, was when one of the employees started to work on 6 to go orders. She very quickly and efficiently assembled the bowls. I told my wife "if they cook those to go orders before us, I'm leaving". My wife asked the person assembling the bowls, and with a tone of some shame and guilt she admitted that yes, they would all be put in to be cooked before ours. My wife sad politely that we would be leaving, and what should we do with our half filled food bowls. The employee was very understanding and apologetic, and said just to leave them where they were. Nobody was rude or not understanding -- just going by 'corporate policy' I suppose. I have a difficult time supporting a business that prioritizes to-go orders over the customers that actually walked through the door and will (hopefully) leave a tip after eating. It would make much more sense if the to go bowls were left uncooked, and when the people came to pick them up (whether it's the customers, door dash, etc.), they would then be cooked. It seems a much more equitable manner of doing business. I'm sure the Door Dash drivers would not be happy with this, but it just seems unfair to punish the customers standing in line. As I mentioned at the start, I've enjoyed dining here, and it saddens me to have to leave this review. However, forewarned is forearmed, and people should know that this business will make their in house customers second class citizens while the to go orders receive priority treatment.
