No bad. If within a couple blocks go for it. For those that care they use soy bean oil. And definitely smells of oil in restaurant. Fried ok. $18 2 piece.

Fish was not fresh, shrimp was overcooked so overall not appetizing

The place is managed by an Asian family and service was quite to the point due to difficulty in communication. Service took long as there only one person manning both the ordering and the cooking. The fish was cooked until it became overdone and fries too were not very appetizing. For ambience, the place was desolate and we hope we had come here at a more happening hour of the day. Maybe better luck next time we visit.

Fish, prawns and chips. Could use more chips! ;-)

First time going to the Pleasant Hill location and it's as good as the one in Ramcho Cordova! I had the fish andbprawn special. Crispy and fresh! Hard to go wrong with a tried and true recipe. Highly recommend it! Nice seating area inside.

Been eyeing this place for quite awhile and we finally tried it tonite. The spot was empty but based on the reviews, I had high expectations. We counter ordered the Combo A and C, and a 3 and 2 fish dinner, lumpia, and fried zucchini. Took a short bit to cook, but food was relatively quickly. Portions were large and piping hot. Batter was thin but crispy, seafood tasted very fresh, the zucchini didn't get soggy, and the lumpia was tasty. We received lemons on request, and tartar, cocktail, malt vinegar, ketchup, and sweet chili sauce in squeeze bottles. Food was excellent, no fishy taste, and like I said, large portions. Only Con was their fountain soda machine, which I prefer, wasn't working. Good service and good prices. We'll be back!

The hype is true! I knew when the owner brought out the ketchup he keeps in the back, it was refrigerated. Crispy batter, fresh tasting cod and the fries were perfect. Don't pass up a chance to visit this throwback establishment

Oh man!!! This is so good. Really reminds me of the fish & chips I had in London. The batter is light, airy, and CRISPY. The flavor of the fish shine through. It's not masked by heavy seasoning or salt. Great place! We ordered online and pick up was prompt in 20 minutes. The food came out of the kitchen as we walked in, and it was piping hot, fresh, and perfectly packed. This is definitely and MUST EAT place on our regular rotation.

I've been coming to this place since I was a kid whenever I was craving fish and chips. A great little hole in the wall spot and MAN is their food delicious! Employees and owners are always nice and service is quick. Love this place!

Price of large Sauce $3.00 not$5.00

This place has gone down the hill. This used to be my favorite place years ago. Different owner, Tried to go here today, I usually doordash it but today I just want to get their tartar sauce and the Asian B!÷(# at the counter charged me $5 for 2 sauces when on their menu it clearly said large $3. By the way nothing against Asian cuz I am one but not the greedy kind. I asked her why she would charge me $5 when it's supposed to be $3 like it said on their menu. She said because I didn't buy anything else so she's raising the price. Then she voided my order since I questioned her and refuse to sell me one. This is why this business is going down the drain. Mind you she didn't have any customer at all in there. That place is dead! Never again will I support this business at all. Most thing I hate is greedy people. This place stinks anyway who would want to eat there!

Love this seafood spot! I love the seafood sampler with oyster, fish, clams, prawns, and chips (fries). Everything was delicious, especially with their tartar sauce. Food was great, what's even better is their customer service. We will be returning!

Combination plate with one fish and three oysters. I ate some before I remembered to take a picture.
    Sally C.

The food was fresh and did not taste fishy. Too bad the place is somewhat hidden in the back streets, would not know it was there if I hadn't read about it. It was among the better fish and chips I've had. I had a combination plate which included one piece of fish and three oysters, along with fries. It was more than I could eat. The owner and cook were very friendly.

We have tried to come here before but it was super packed no parking and it was night time . This was months ago . This morning my man surprised me by bringing me here again for Mother's Day breakfast/brunch . We got there right when opening and the inside was already full ( people made reservations for Mother's Day but they had outdoor seating which is covered from the sun and has heaters ) They had a special menu for Mother's Day today so a lot of what you might see on the regular menu may have not been on today's menu . Our waiter let alone the rest of the staff were very nice and polite and kept wishing happy Mother's Day to everyone . It was very nice . Now food ! Ofcourse you know I got oysters . They had 5 different kinds to choose from but I got the dozen with all of them ! All fresh ! Some were more sweet some more Briney some more creamy . All of them were good and the shallot vinaigrette was the cherry on top ! He got the tortilla soup and we shared the cheesy crabby bread . He dipped it in the soup ( boys lol ) and sad it was good . My personal opinion I love the bread they used ! And nice flavor with out taking away from the nice amount of crab they put on it ! The steak Cobb salad was a very nice portion and the steak was cooked medium rare just how I like it . I was expecting it to be cut up pieces but no they gave you a whole filet which is nice if you want something light and filling I'd definitely recommend this salad . The clams were amazing ! The sauce was so savory just added a dash of lemon and I was in heaven . Plus the cheesy toasted bread they give you to slurp all that excellence lol top tier . Crab omelette was made with egg whites only no yolk , and had ample amount of LUMP crab meat no skimpy at all ! Potatoes were seasoned nice . And the waffles ( which comes by itself heads up that's why we ordered sausage and bacon as a side 8$ each kinda pricey. But we're very thick and good ) the waffles comes with a berry butter spread fresh fruit . Fluffy but still crisp. The limoncello mimosa flavor wise loved the limon but lacked the mosa part . Overall I'd highly recommend and want to come back to try more options . It was nice seeing all the happy families and the cutesy babies all around . Today was a beautiful day thankyou Wences !

The one aspect that was just okay, but still not bad, was the food (3.5/5). We came at opening on Saturday just in case there was a brunch rush, but thankfully at 8am it didn't seem too busy yet. We were promptly greeted with a smile and seated at a table with fresh flowers and morning sun. The menu options are extensive, especially drinks, but we settled on some specials - a steak omurice and what we'd come for, fried chicken (but on a benedict instead of a waffle). Our items came out ~10 minutes later looking pretty garnished with flowers. The omurice was advertised as "medium spicy" and wasn't too bad. We had the spicy red wine sauce on the side and enjoyed cutting the omelette to drape over the rice. While there was spice, the dish also felt a little lacking for some reason - although the cook on the meat was good and it was tender. The fried chicken benedict was served with two crispy purple potatoes, mayo, and a lightly dressed arugula salad that was a good size. I found the benny eggs to be a bit unevenly cooked so they didn't ooze golden when cut, but it still tasted rich and yummy with the crunchy-crispy fried chicken. The pickled red onions really added good pop to this dish. Both dishes were fine but not memorable in taste. Prices are on the higher end but I could see good quality ingredients going into these dishes so perhaps it's justified. Very friendly staff though and fun menu options (often Thai fusion)! A solid addition to the local brunch scene - and they also serve dinner :) We didn't get the instagrammable drinks with ombre color and marshmallow bears but that also seems to be a highlight of The Royale!

Overall, the place felt very clean, tidy, and well organized. The service was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming, which was definitely a plus. Now, let's get to the food review. Original Sisig Kapampangan: Absolutely delicious. It was served on a hot plate and had a savory, creamy flavor (possibly from the mayonnaise) while still tasting a bit tangy once you squeezed lemon over it. I'd definitely order this again. Beef Brisket Kare Kare: I honestly thought I didn't like kare kare until I tried their version. The peanut sauce was rich and savory without tasting like peanut butter in a jar like Skippy. The beef was tender, and I also loved the assortment of vegetables included in the dish. What really took it to another level, though, was the bagoong sauce (on the side), which paired so well with this dish. This dish was absolutely yummy. Sizzling Beef Brisket Ala Pobre: We were really excited to try this because we'd heard great things about it, but unfortunately, it didn't really deliver. The flavor was pretty bland, and even though it was topped with fried garlic, it was still missing a strong garlic flavor. The beef itself was tender, which was probably the only good thing about the dish, but aside from that, the sauce and overall flavor were just underwhelming. Garlic Rice: This came in a pretty generous portion enough for three. I could definitely taste the garlic, but I think it could've used a little more. Still, it was good overall.

The jerk chicken was beautifully executed. Smoky, well-marinated, and layered with flavor without being overpowering. It wasn't aggressively spicy or one-dimensional; instead, it had depth, the kind that tells you the seasoning had time to develop. The meat was tender, cooked through, and balanced perfectly between char and juiciness. The rice and peas were equally satisfying -- flavorful enough to stand alone but clearly designed to complement the protein. And the plantains were caramelized just right: soft, sweet, and not overly oily. What really stands out is the care. Nothing felt rushed or generic. As a vendor operation, it would be easy to cut corners but this feels like food made with pride. The Bay Area has no shortage of Caribbean spots, but Jamin Jerk Kitchen holds its own with quality and consistency. My 5 coworkers and I decided to try Jam N Jerk Kitchen out so we ordered some plates for 6 people. The chicken was so flavorful, the oxtails fall off the bone, the fish with the mango salsa was kickin, and the jam n Cheeze was sooooo gooey! The food was so good in fact that our coworkers demanded us to share! The food literally made me believe in love again, so I called my wife and said "Honey I believe in Love again and Love you, to which she responded, I love you too but you better bring me home that food!" Some tips to make your experience Rad 1. The menu on their site is merely just a guide regarding prices and what is available. When the owners contact you they will tell you the prices and have your best interest in mind and guide you to what is right for you. 2. The address will take you to a large complex. Find the pool and leasing office and that is the location to pick up your food. Again the love they put in the food, the quantity of what you get, and the taste makes this a must have!

I was told I would be charged if I missied the reservation as well. Day of dinner, my party arrived at Elia 20 mins ealry and was still told they couldnt sit down. In that time the restaurant decided to let another party sit at my reserved table instead. Finally arriving myself ( still 5 mins to soare before reservation) I see my entire family standing in the middle of the restaurant. ( Only black family in the entire building of course) after questioning the fron door person she told me shes trying to get a table and wait at the bar?! 35 mins later my family was seated. Thinking I would have an apology for the miscommunication, I had to request my own birthday desert as they gave a lit candelr and song to guest around. And yes the restaurant knew it was my birthday they even had the menus changed. I go to this restaurant a lot so im still very upset how my family and I were treated and I bullied down to confirm my reservations multiple times. Overall. This is my last time at Elia. I hope this is reviewed and Elia updates their customer service. Thank you to the waiter who did her best with so many issuesz -Kiarra R.

On my last two visits we ordered just from the appetizer selections, and every dish was superb. After seeing a flaming dish at an adjacent table, I knew I had to try it. It was Greek cheese lit on fire, then extinguished with lemon juice. Fantastic. The lamb meatballs and the grilled octopus were outstanding. Definitely one of my favorte places to go.
