As usual, the food never disappoints. Every dish is packed with flavor, the portion sizes are great for the price, and the service is consistently top-notch. The staff is genuinely some of the nicest you'll meet, and the ambiance is always great. Highly recommend!

Wow another hit on monument blvd. This place is super crowded on a Saturday afternoon but the food still came out fast and delicious. The sauce for the Camarones Diabla was spicy and flavorful. The fish tacos were so good and reminded me of another favorite spot on monument. I would definitely come back here for more.

Got nachos and steak quesadillas, they were good! The portions were unexpected honestly, especially for its price. Loved the food and service. Would come back here again! There's a decent amount of seating inside.

GET THE MOLCAJETE. It can feed 3 people easily and for a price of $28.50, that's not bad at all. Their corn tortillas are gigantic and handmade. The flavors are there and hit the spot. We also got the pastor tacos, which were divine. Cozy little taqueria and the servers are attentive. Their salsas were very tasty as well.

This was my husband's and I first time trying out Taqueria Mariscos. We will be returning customers. Ceviche portions were generous, fresh, had a great amount of lime taste, and the spice level was perfect. We initially came here to try the ceviche, but once we saw they have molcajete, we had to order one. The molcajete packed a ton of flavor, was overall delicious, and came with fresh homemade tortillas. Ambiance was giving authentic Mexican food, bonus points there. I mean most Mexican food spots around monument are authentic. But the real test was from my Mexican husband's approval. Thanks for a great meal Taqueria Mariscos!!!

    Mix seafood tostada

Excellent service! It was my first time here. The fish taco was good, and the Mixta seafood tostada was even better. But the highlight was definitely the cucumber chia water, absolutely refreshing! I'll definitely be back.

My son had asada tacos loved the rice and beans very good

This place has a lot of options, it's small but ok, not in the best area. Friendly staff and homemade tortilla were awesome and big. They also have good drinks from aqua Fresca to micheladas

my dad and I were looking for the Pancho Villa that was supposedly in this plaza, we were thinking that it would be the same one as the location in San Mateo and San Francisco. After driving around the plaza so many times we couldn't find it, finally, I looked on yelp and saw that it had a low rating. We ended up just settling for the Taqueria which had higher ratings. One of the things that I really liked the most was a cucumber aguas frescas! A little too sweet but if I had it more water, it would be totally perfect. I ended up getting the shrimp plate, the shrimp wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but the battered taco had some decent flavor with this kick spread Not sure what I would go back for but maybe next time I will just play it safe with street tacos!

This place rules!!! The service/people running this delicious taqueria are awesome. So friendly and who ever is in the kitchen we owe them a hug for making such tasty food. Thank you so much for an amazing wedding anniversary feast. A huge thanks to the owner because she is so awesome and friendly to all. This place is special !

The staff here is very nice and accommodating. Their English is not very good because when asked to replace my re-fried beans with whole pinto beans, we didn't get the pinto beans until our 3rd request when they finally understood. That was the third person we spoke to but she always had a smile on her face. My Diablo shrimp was very sour and had no real flavor, the shrimp was huge and plentiful (8 shrimp) but they were terribly overcooked and rubbery. The sides were good. My husband loved their super steak quesadilla and enjoyed the sauces very much. Huge portions. Both my friends enjoyed their meals of a burrito and Chile rellano. Loved their outdoor tent and comfortable chairs. Just go early as the tent is small to avoid crowds.

Occasionally, when we don't feel like cooking my husband and I DoorDash breakfast. First my husband got gluten-free blueberry pancake pancakes. Normally I have no interest in pancakes. They're just piles of sugar and carbs, but these were so good, I could not stop eating them! They may be the best pancakes I ever had. Which is amazing given they were gluten-free. The next time we DoorDashed, the Chilaquiles. I'm glad we shared it because the portion was huge. It was also amazing. They made their own tortilla chips, which makes such a difference, and it had a big chunk of slow cooked short rib, egg, green chili sauce, and a generous portion of toppings like guacamole, jalapeño and sour cream. On the side was refried beans with cheese and some delicious fried potatoes, I should've taken a picture. It was a little pricey, but definitely enough for two unless you have a really big appetite. I'm writing this review because I don't understand why the reviews are not better for this place. The food is so good! I will have to go in person one day cause it sounds like the service is great too.

If you blink, you might miss it. Service is still 10/10! This time around, I ordered a hot matcha latte, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much (let's be real, some places can mess up matcha). But surprise, surprise -- it actually tasted like real matcha! It was delicious! For my meal, I tried the cowboy scramble, which I swear was everything but the kitchen sink tossed in a pan. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note. All in all, I'm into the new look, and I'll definitely be back for that legit matcha latte and hefty scramble!

I originally went out looking for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Googled "good breakfast…read morenear me." This spot came up, and although my wife and I have driven past it many times, we've never stopped in. Today, I decided to finally give it a try. After looking through the Google photos, I changed my mind and ordered a breakfast plate instead of a sandwich. Parking was a little challenging. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.

In addition to their standard breakfast/brunch/lunch menu, there were also weekend specials. A lot of great-sounding options but since it was our first time, we decided to try some of our favorite traditional items. The corned beef hash was in the form we like and well-seasoned. It was accompanied by two eggs (ordered over easy and cooked just right!) as well as crispy hash browns that were not too greasy. The sourdough toast was crisp and came with assorted smucker's jams. We also tried their breakfast combo where we ordered eggs and link sausage (4 juicy links) along with a large portion of nicely prepared French toast. The coffee was Columbian and hot, and my cup always stayed full. They also provided large glasses of ice water, and provided ketchup and Tabasco sauce for our breakfast platters. The portions were large and commensurate with their prices, which were reasonable, and the service was outstanding. We are already aiming to get back soon to try other things on their menu.

I decided to give this neighborhood cafe a try and so happy that I did. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere. Little bit of a nostalgic vibe with a touch of modern. I loved that there was the old diner counter to sit at and watch the cook do his magic. There are several tables as well inside and some tables outside to enjoy a meal under the sky. If you view the menu, you'll see they offer quite an array of choices. My choice today was the Portuguese omelette with toast and hashbrowns. I complemented the cook on how easy he made it look to cook on a griddle and how well he managed to prepare the dishes. If you've ever tried to do an omelette on a flat griddle, you'll understand my point. The food was amazing. Well made and with such great flavor. I'm really hoping to be here next weekend to give this place another visit before I depart for home. The omelette was three eggs and plenty of filling. You'll be pleasantly full or asking for a box to go. The hashbrowns were perfect also. The lady my order and making sure I didn't need anything was super friendly and had a great personality. A trifecta for a five star visit to an out of town visitor. Kudos to the Bay Leaf Cafe for making my morning a wonderful one.
