    Chicharones for next time!
    Robert C.

Stopped by for a quick takeout lunch. I've had the potato taco plate before and it was really good. Got it again, wife got a regular carne asada burrito. Food came out quickly and piping hot. Wanted to buy some chicharones but decided to stick with my New Year's resolution. Taco plate has a good amount of lettuce and tomatoes... rice was really good too. Really like the dipping sauce with my tacos. I'll be back!

Chicken was fabulous. I got 4 chicken and two steak tacos. Cost was $30. Some tacos added cheese. Habanero salsa was on point. Tomatillo salsa was great too! Service was super friendly and quick. The inside has plenty of seating and it does not feel cramped at all inside. Next time all chicken tacos! They were also very warm in temp which I also loved. Next time I'm over there, I will be back!

Combo plate... beans, really good rice. A Chile relleno and some Birria. Plenty of fresh tortillas.

I eat here regularly, about once a month. They're very friendly, the service is great. But I had a weird experience on my most recent visit. I've been wanting to try their tamales. I had a pork tamale on a lunch combo plate, dine-in. Excellent like everything else. I asked what other tamales they have, was told chicken in green sauce, and corn & cheese. They recommended I take home frozen tamales if not eating immediately. I took home one chicken, one cheese & corn. A few days later, steamed them for dinner. Chicken was excellent. The other tamale was 100% masa. It was tasty, light and fluffy. I'd buy it as a side dish, same way I'd eat polenta or grits. But there was no melted cheese, and no corn other than masa being cornmeal. I expected something similar to cheese & chile tamales ive had elsewhere. So I wondered... - did I get a mistake? Did a tamale somehow slip through the preparation process, not get filling? Was it a mistake? or, - is that their cheese & corn tamale... perhaps some cheese flavor or very finely ground cheese that disappears among the corn masa? I'll try to remember to ask next time I go there, but I'm not making a trip for a $4 item. That I ate! I'm kind of hoping others will read this and tell me whether I just got an accidentally unfilled tamale.

Delicious Rotisserie Chicken, Carnitas and Buche !

My longtime favorite, this place is AMAZING! I've been going to El Mercado Del Sol in Concord for YEARS, and let me tell you... this place never misses! It's one of those rare spots that stays consistently delicious no matter how many times you go, which is why I've happily supported them for so long. Their rotisserie chicken is out-of-this-world good--super juicy, perfectly seasoned, and roasted so the skin has that irresistible golden flavor. Every time I pick one up, I'm reminded why I've been coming here for so long. And the sides? Honestly, they're just as crave-worthy. The rice and beans are the ultimate comfort combo--flavorful, warm, and exactly what you want next to that chicken. The fresh tortillas are a game-changer: soft, warm, and perfect for making little tacos on the spot. And their salsa? Bright, fresh, and packed with just enough heat to make everything pop. I can't forget the carnitas either. After all these years, they remain some of the best I've had anywhere--tender, flavorful, with those crispy edges that make you want to order them again the moment you finish. El Mercado Del Sol is truly a Concord Gem! It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back because the food is consistently fantastic and made with care. I'm proud to support them and will keep doing so for many more years!

Let me tell you Monument Blvd street in Concord is the real life lil Mexico! I kid you not! All the bomb a** Mexican food you are craving come hit up this street majority of these restaurants are A1! I absolutely lovveeee this place my old friend's family owns this place. She was the one who introduced me to this place and man I fell in love with it the moment I had my first bite! You will always be greeted with a warm welcome and a sweet old lady ready to take your order! My bf was really craving some bomb a** Mexican food and we were in my hometown so I told him about this place. I ordered myself a birria plate with extra rice instead of beans. I ordered my bf Cameron de Diablo his favorite! He absolutely fell in love with his food the spice of the shrimp were to his liking which is hard because he loves his food SPICY! He really the one who put me on spicy foods lol. I fell in love with my birria plate was soo juicy packed with so much flavor!!! The rice was amazing I love me some rice I'm such a rice head lol! To top it off the salsa was perfectly spiced everything together..yummmm!!! This place will always be my go-to place for some A1 Mexican food!

What a great find ! Mercado del Sol is the Best Mexican Restaurant I have ever dined in . The food is freshly made , seasoned to perfection and simply delicious I took my two friends here for the first time and they were impressed with the freshness of their ingredients. Th portions are generous and their salsas are the best .The guacamole taste like it just got picked off the tree The restaurant is very clean and very pleasant. Staff came frequently to ask if we needed anything . I will surely be a regular guest and will let my friends know of their excellent menu . The Staff are very nice and attentive and the owners are such wonderful people . Thank you

I found out about this restaurant from a friend as he raved about the rotisserie chicken. I'm so happy to try it because, Move over Costco rotisserie chicken, you've been replaced! The chicken was so juicy, especially the skin (it wasn't dry at all), they give you plenty of food for a fraction of the cost, I tried the ribs and that was also delicious and had enough seasoning for my taste. I think the ribs are brought out after 4pm (pls call to make sure). The prices for all their combo meals and ala carte menus are reasonable, the restaurant is clean, it has an adequate amount of tables and chairs to dine-in. The lady at the register is always so polite and the gentleman that's chopping everything is really nice and welcoming. The parking can be a bit of a challenge. It's only because their food is that good! I would definitely suggest calling before ordering food because you want go make sure they have enough chicken and ribs (if that's your go to) they also have a lot of pick up orders and they also offer catering orders. I highly suggest giving them a try!

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. They checked on us periodically throughout the meal and everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall the restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and comfortable. I noticed how enthused and attentive they were to other patrons in comparison to how they were with me and my daughter. I'll leave it at that. I purchased a chicken burrito, a steak burrito (burritos came with potato chips), a mango margarita, and a cheesecake. Pros- the food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. The mango margarita.... Best thing I ordered! Cons- Burritos lacked flavor and was pretty unremarkable. The cheesecake. Idk if it was spoiled or a different type of cheesecake but it didn't taste good at all. My daughter ate it bc she's greedy lol and said that it tastes "interesting". I do feel like the food we ordered is not prepared the way I'm familiar with, so I'll own that. BUT flavor is flavor and this place did not do it for me at all.

We did find one that had excellent street tacos but they were very pricey, three tacos for $16.99 with no chips. I would need to get two orders so 6 street tacos with tax and tip would be well over $40 which is No Bueno. We weren't sure what to expect from La Tapatia but I liked that the menu had crunchy tacos. I ordered a pork tamale, a crunchy ground beef taco and some arroz. My friend ordered a chile relleno and a crunchy ground beef taco. The food came with complimentary tortilla chips and a salsa dip with frijoles. The dip and Chios were fresh and the salsa with blended with frijoles was enjoyable. The crunchy tacos were fried nicely and had a good amount of filling. I thinking about trying carnitas as the filling but there a bit of a charge. The tamale was pretty good. The masa was not too dry or too wet. The meat to masa ratio was about right. My friend liked his chile relleno. The rice was more well done than I usually prefer and needed a little more seasoning. Overall, the food was delicious, service very attentive and pricing was a bit higher than other restaurants but still fair. I plan to take the family next trip and try other dishes. For a good family meal or with friends, drop on in for good food and service. You won't be disappointed.

I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating.
