    Ricotta Pista Cake

My husband and I came by to try a few things from this cozy pizza spot and I must say, we left with full bellies and warm hearts. The owner and staff were really attentive, checking on us often. I saw the owner look over at the tables every chance he got to make sure everyone was happy. We got 3 pizzas, 12 pc wings, side of Meatballs, Shrimp fettuccine and tiramisu. We were offered a pistachio cake on the house! So sweet of them. We got thin Brooklyn style pizzas so that we don't get too full and can try more things on the menu. All the pizzas were delicious. My favorite were the classic Margherita and truffle pizza along with the meatballs that were made in house. The pizza came out hot, crispy and full of flavor. The pasta was really good also! It was garlicky and noodles perfect Al dente! We chatted a little with the owner who told us that most things were made fresh in house (sauce, meatballs, crust etc) that was no surprise to us because you can taste the freshness in every bite. We had such a lovely time and will be returning again in the near future!!

Came here on a Sunday night, walking by. The server was very energetic and extremely attentive. The ambiance of the place was great too! Lots to look at while waiting for the food to arrive. The tables were also clean, not sticky. The Italian guava soda and Caesar salad were SO good! Had anchovy in it too but was very fresh and the amount of salad was generous as well. The pastrami sandwich was very moist and the pastrami was so good! I've had pastrami elsewhere that were hard to eat because they were chewy or stringy but these were fantastic. Tiramisu was also very good! The calamari was slightly disappointing because the batter and actual calamari didn't go well together and texture of the fried batter was more coarse than my liking. Will definitely be coming back though!!

We were in Walnut Creek and had a place in mind to dine at, but unfortunately they were hosting a holiday party, so we left. We noticed Napolina across the street and decided to give it a try. We ordered the ravioli, truffle fries, calamari, and mango avocado salad. The prices were surprisingly low, which made sense once the food arrived, as the portions were very small. The calamari lacked flavor, and the batter tasted more like what's used for chicken cutlets. The highlights of the meal were the ravioli and the truffle fries. Overall, the food was underwhelming, but the service was excellent. There was only one server for the entire restaurant, and she did an amazing job. Food: 2/5 Service: 5/5

Stopped by to try this place for lunch! DJ is the man! He suggested me to try their pasta, it's so delicious! I thought I am in a fine dining restaurant! Highly recommended!

Sicilian margherita pizza, you can see how the crust looks over cooked and hard.

I came here because my in laws enjoy this place. I ordered the Margherita Sicilian pizza because I love a thick crust. The crust was bad. Tasted stale and was hard on the edges. I had just had amazing pizza in this style in sand Diego so was disappointed this wasn't up to par. The flavors of the toppings, sauce and cheese were delicious but the crust ruined it. I was hungry so I ate it. If they work on the crust situation I'd be happy to return, since the location is great, right in todos Santos plaza. Service was great, the inside of the restaurant was a little cramped but clean.

There a lot of places to get a good burger around here. I was reminded why I come to Cafe Napolina today for my burger fix. Basic burger with fries was awesome and you can beat the price. Right at happy hour too boot! Can't lose!

    Tiramasu - decent!

Rolled in on a Fri night about 615 on a toasty Concord evening. 2 people at the bar. By the time we left about an hour later, 2 more at the bar, another table full and one table of 6 turned over. Slow. Service was friendly, attentive, without being over bearing. Could have used another minute to figure out drinks but thats ok. Knowing the specific names of draft beers is important for some people, not just "Side Gate Hazy". Ambiance- cool spot, enjoyed the video screens running Italian / European walks. Sports on the other TVs was good for the guys. Food - decent, not outstanding. The tiramasu was decent, above average. The ravioli was good, tender pasta, good sauce. Spaghetti and Meatballs had a chunky meat sauce that was very mild, slightly greasy. The balls themselves were very tough. Portion size was good for average appetites. Menu was small (not necessarily bad) but cheap plastic. Overall an average experience. I hope tonight's flow was not typical.

Stumbled upon this place for lunch randomly. My dad and I wanted a small lunch to share so we got the meat pizza. It was the thin NY style. Pizza came piping hot with an incredible san Marzano tomato sauce. We finished with a cannoli. Would come again. It is to be noted from what I could see, the red wine selection was mediocre but a few craft/draft beer selection.

Brooklyn in the house! New York in da house! I went here on the behest of my friend and she had it right - this is a new gem in Concord! Excellent marguerita pizza and the standard spaghetti and meatballs. Deejay the owner gave us the rundown on their move from Brooklyn and was kind to both of us. We had a great time! Check it out Yelpers if you want authentic New York style pizza and Italian cuisine in the East Bay!

Came here recently after a Fest by a nearby brewery. It is in the same building where I used to multi different restaurants perviously i.e. Tower Grill and Parkside cafe. This is my 1st time going to this place now Italian theme. I had ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and a Pilsner. Wifey ordered a Chicken Caprese salad. My friends ordered a Burger and a Chicken Philly with fries. Owner seemed jovial and the food came out nice pretty quick. I liked the fries and the Philly sammie was alright. I will try something different next time and maybe a pizza but nonetheless it was a good visit.

Went here on a Monday during the holiday for a late lunch (1:30pm) and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. I figured service would be on point as there was minimal people. We found ourselves having to flag the waitress down for stuff. The kids wanted to try truffle fries + the cheese balls. It wasn't quite what they expected. Potatoes were thick wedges vs the fries they expected. Truffle flavor was great. The cheese balls were good but more like a potato ball than a cheese ball. The kids favorite thing was the Margarita pizza. We had the bolognese (good) and the fettuccini Alfredo (good) but both dishes were a bit heavy on the garlic.

    Was delicious

This place has become a staple in our lunch rotation. The food always delicious! We'll be back in a week or two!

I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

When we first arrived we were seated right away and given waters immediately by our lovely host, after being seating it took 15 minutes for our waiter to even look at us and when she did she said "Do you know what you want to drink?", this was our first interaction. It took about 20 minutes to receive our wine and when she brought it to us she never let us taste the wine before pouring it, which I have never experienced at any other winery. After leaving it took an extra 10 minutes to receive our order of French fries, luckily the water machine was right next to us so whenever we needed a refill we could just get up and get it ourselves! We almost asked them to not even bring out the bread because it had been 45 minutes after ordering before it came to our table. I think we would have been more understanding if it was a busy night but it was the complete opposite. I could have driven all the way to Napa, been served, eaten a full meal, then home with my teeth brushed in bed by 8, but instead I'm at Shadowbrook waiting for my bread. Overall the food was great, the wine was excellent but the service was absolutely horrific! We felt overlooked and unwelcome from the start. Our server barely acknowledged us and gave the impression that we weren't worth her time while serving others next to us with enthusiasm. Unfortunately the 20% service charge did it for me, I wouldn't mind paying if it was worth it, if I could tip our waitress less I would.

The entire collection of wine was exposed to heat and ruined but they are still selling it to unknowing customers. Many of the wines that I inspected had corks bulging out past the foil and were discolored. The Syrah I picked and thought was safe looked good but under the foil, the cork was bad and yes the wine was rancid. I wish that was just a side story but the glass of wine I purchased was also foul. It was the most expensive Napa Cab they serve. I asked a few times how long the bottle was open and he did not know but guessed maybe a night or two before. This tells me a few things; they are not keeping wine fresh or pumping out the air or using a Coravin system for example. They are not writing the date opened even. Also in my personal opinion, the wines here are the lower tier to keep pricing down and profits high. It just makes the experience low for the customer. Lastly I did have a cheese plate and it was also terrible. The staff have no knowledge of wine. So it just ends up being a happy hour place for people to drink cheap wine. I'm sorry for the former failed business and appreciate trying to take it over but the business model is not working. It's not worthy of business woman of the year unfortunately.
