I really don't like to write to-go order reviews but since more than half the business here is to go, I am caving in. They use a Door Dash interface for to go orders with no apparent fee to customers. I ordered the Singapore rice noodles (my fave) and beef crispy noodles. Both were amazing and pretty big. They both hold up to go as well.

10/01/2025 - Lunch Special - String Beans Three Combo (Prawns, Chicken & Beef) with Chow Mein

In the area and hungry for lunch. We stopped by and picked up four dishes. Service is always just a bit slow, they do an outstanding take-out business. Not to worry, unless you're really short on time, it's worth the wait. The food is that good. We got two "Appetizers". Korean Chicken Wings and Deep Fried Chicken Salad. Additionally, we ordered two Lunch Specials, Eggplant in Spicy Sauce with Brown Rice and String Beans Three Combo with Chow Mein. The Salad rated a 4, while everything else rated a 5. The Salad was passable but could have been so much more with some additional ingredients such as Cilantro, Green Onions, Mandarin Oranges and another lettuce besides Iceberg, such as Romaine. After we left the restaurant, we found a nearby park and had ourselves a nice little picnic with plenty of leftovers.

The people working here were nice, but... The food here did not taste authentic at all... The batter on the orange chicken and sweet and sour pork was so thick that you could barely taste the meat. The salt and pepper tofu tasted like it had zero salt and used what tasted like store bought tofu from Safeway or something. The best dish was the green beans. I won't be coming back, but if you're just looking for ok Chinese food it'll be fine I guess.

Got takeout here for the first time and enjoyed everything we ordered! Was craving Chinese takeout - we usually go to China Palace, but I saw that Kung Fu Kitchen is equally well reviewed but with entrees that are $5+ cheaper. Can now confirm that the food is just as good at Kung Fu Kitchen. The servings are family style sized for sharing, and the two of us had leftovers for 2 more meals. We ordered: General's Chicken (4.5/5) has a tiny bit of spice to it Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (4.5/5) comes with plenty of delicious vegetables Shrimp Fried Rice (4.5/5) Needs more shrimp, tastes great Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce (5/5) perfect I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 25 mins. The food was ready at the time that was promised. This is definitely more of a takeout place than dine-in. No one was dining in and there were only 1-3 very small tables, and one was being used to hold takeout orders for pickup.

1562 Palos Verdes Mall Walnut Creek, CA 94597 On a sunny Saturday, I had lunch at Kung Fu Restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA. I saw the great reviews, and decided it would be worth a try. First thing I noticed when I walked in the place was it's really small. So I'm guessing most of these Yelp reviews are for takeout orders. There's only 3 medium tables (w/ 4 seats) and 1 small table (w/ 2 seats), and 1 small table outside. I pointed at the small table and asked the man at the counter if I could sit there. He said YES, and asked what I would like to order. Without looking at the menu, I just ordered my favorites..... - Wor Won Ton Soup - Potstickers (8) - Hot Tea (I asked for chopsticks) Service was very quick. The man behind the counter was also the server. Wor Won Ton Soup, Grade (4/5): This is combination won ton soup. It has a little bit of everything. My soup had 8 dumplings, lots of veggies, 2 shrimp, and some pieces of chicken. Not alot extras. But the broth was mild, and very good. Potstickers, Grade (3/5): They looked and tasted like the frozen kind. They should be plump. These had limited filling, and not alot of flavor. But the presentation of the plate was nice. Service & Value, Grade (5/5): Fast service and reasonable prices. Free parking in mall lot. Limited seating, so be prepared to do takeout.

This is my first time out at this takeout . The service was pretty nice. It's a really small space seats about 10 to 15 people and they have a small section outside proceeding . The food was pretty good.

E2. Chicken with Black Bean Sauce lunch special $15
    Nicole B.

I don't know if I was extremely hungry, but can't beat this lunch meal. Chicken with black bean sauce- chicken so tender and a lot of it! Rice goes perfect with the sauce. Chow mein is a little lacking, but she did 1/2 rice and 1/2 chow mein for me. Very sweet couple cooking it up fresh in front of you. Only 3 tables inside, so take out is better option.

I was almost done eating when I remembered to take a picture of my yummy plate

My plan was to eat at another establishment close to Kung Fu Kitchen, but parking led me in front of their store. I got out of my car, and the Chinese signs on their windows piqued my curiosity. Suddenly, I had a craving for Chinese food. There were only about four tables inside, with one table open, just like it was waiting for me! I ordered their lunch special - the Hunan trio (chicken, beef, and shrimp) - for a very reasonable price, but it tasted better than those from pricier restaurants in the area. The serving was generous, the meat (all three) was tender, the veggies mixed in the dish tasted delicious and fresh. It was deliciously tasty without being salty. Their hot and sour soup was decent. Kung Fu is a small, no-fuss hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but those are the ones that deliver. I shall return!

This is a restaurant where the menu doesn't just list dishes...it teaches you something. The moment you open the menu, you know you're in the right place. The Cold Plate (冷盤) section alone reads like a passport stamp to Chengdu: BEEF TRIPE & BEEF FLAKE (夫妻肺片) - tender, numbing, and electric with Sichuan peppercorns. If you know, you know. Sliced Pork with Spicy Garlic (蒜泥白肉) - silky, rich, and packed with real chili heat. North Sichuan Green Pea Jelly (川北冷粉) - hot, sour, spicy, and addictive. Spicy Pig Ear (紅油豬耳) - crunchy, aromatic, and perfectly done. Jellyfish Salad (葱油海蜇) - refreshing, light, and authentically seasoned. These aren't "safe choices for the American palate." These are dishes straight from the Sichuan playbook, and they are done properly. And then the entrées -- highlights worth calling out: Sichuan Tea-Smoked Duck (香辣樟茶鴨) - smoky, spicy, fragrant; a dish you don't see done right very often. They nail it. Boiled Fish Fillet in Chili Oil (水煮魚片) - a must-order for anyone who really understands Sichuan cuisine. Beautiful heat and numbing balance. Cumin Beef or Lamb (孜然牛/羊肉) - bold, aromatic, and cooked with confidence. Dry-Fried Green Beans (干扁四季豆) - textbook execution. The menu is huge, but instead of feeling generic, it feels like a curated journey through Sichuan: hot pots, clay pots, seafood, offal, noodles, cold appetizers, and delicacies you rarely see outside China. This is one of the few restaurants in the East Bay where I'd confidently send someone who says, "I want real Sichuan." Service is warm, portions are generous, spice levels are honest, and the prices are more than fair for the quality and effort in these dishes. If you love authentic food--actual Sichuan food--this is a must-visit. --Elliott L., Walnut Creek "Here for the peppercorns, stayed for the joy."

While he was working incredibly hard, it's unfair to both the staff and the customers to have a "one-man show" during dinner rush. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and a full hour for food--which is nearly impossible when you have a hungry toddler with you. We ordered a non-spicy dish (lotus root) for our toddler, but it arrived spicy anyway. Since we couldn't wait another hour for a remake, she ended up just eating white rice. To top it off, our beef tripe and blood in hot pot broth dish arrived without the blood. When we finally flagged Rambo down, he explained they intentionally exclude it because some customers find it "smelly." As a Chinese customer who specifically ordered the dish for the blood, I found this frustrating and deceptive. If an ingredient is being removed from a titled dish, guests must be notified upfront. We enjoyed the flavors of the spicy tan tan noodles, lotus root, black pepper lamb, and ma-po tofu, but the management needs to hire more weekend staff. We'll stick to takeout from now on.
