This place is an absolute gem for affordable, delicious dumplings. This place caught me by surprise with its pricing, layout, and quality. -casual dining where you get seated and order on your phone. Very easy to have separate checks if dining with a group -can be a longer wait for food if busy because it's a small restaurant Food 10/10 Cucumber appetizer - a must try, the sauce is amazing and the cucumbers are crisp and refreshing 10/10 Spicy beef sandwich - the steamed bun is soft and warm and the beef is perfectly seasoned 9/10 Green onion pancake - crispy and delicious, perfect appetizer portion size 9/10 spicy beef pancake roll - great combination of the green onion pancake and the spicy beef. It's pretty big and could be a meal for one person 10/10 pork and crab xiao long boa - best soup dumplings hands down 10/10 pan fried pork buns and steamed pork buns both are winners Overall, go with an open mind and empty belly and try a little bit of everything, you won't be disappointed!

Went by this spot the other day. Not crowded on a weekday and there was plenty of seating. Got our usual cucumber dish (excellent), and the XLB, potstickers and soy sauce and green onion noodles. Everything was hot and fresh. They were a little shorthanded that day so tables weren't bussed quickly but they kept our ice water filled and food came out quickly.

I tried the XLB pork. It was standard. For weekday lunch hour, there wasn't much rush. Staff was professional. Bathroom needs attention. I look forward to trying more items on the menu.

The one in Seattle is much better but good overall but not best. Service was great and thank you for helping us.

So good! I honestly went here when it first opened and I thought it wasn't that great but i decided to give it another chance. The pork XLBs were SO GOOD. The soup was yummy and the meat was tender. All the dough for the dimsum plates tasted so fresh. The first time I went it was chewy but I'm glad we tried it when they were able to perfect their menu. Great costumer service, constantly checked in on us. We also got the ube milk tea it was refreshing with our meal. I want to try the thai tea (they were out) but def next time! They have specials: the egg fried rice and pumpkin dimsum with whip cream on the side. Such a good way to end the meal. Lots of tables and spread out, I didn't feel overwhelmed in my space and had enough room. Def would come again!

The service was very friendly I loved the dumpling a lot of pescatarian friendly and vegetarian friendly items. The space is clean and they play music but doesn't over power conversations. Has the Thai tea was sooooooo good and fresh (brewed in house). I also tried their soy sauce noodles it was better than the spicy noodles.

SO happy that Walnut Creek has a location! I have been to the Oregon location and the San Jose location. This store is narrow and long, however did not take the experience of dining here. Service was excellent, prices were much more affordable than Dumpling Hours. Still the same rewards system as all the other locations, to earn points everyone you dine here! Food was delicious! Especially like the dumplings. Parking was easy on the street, depending on time, may have to pay, totally affordable like $2 to $3. Came on a Sunday free parking. Came again on a weekday, about $4 in total for parking for my whole dining duration. Will definitely come again!

Love this restaurant! Comfort food for a cold winter day at its best. Large variety of dumplings, potstickers and noodle dishes that meant to be shared. In terms of vegetable options, I strongly recommend cucumbers and broccoli. Very tasty and fresh. Lots of kid friendly dishes. They also carry a nice list of yummy drinks. I normally get Thai tea. Flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet. Quick service with a smile. The restaurant itself has a spacious layout and beautiful contemporary design. We will be back!

Dough House blew us away from start to finish! We started with the passion fruit green tea -- so refreshing and perfectly balanced. The green onion pancake was crisp, flaky, and full of flavor. My absolute favorite was the pan-fried beef pies -- golden, juicy, and seasoned perfectly inside. The steamed pork buns were pillowy soft with a rich, savory filling, and both the chicken dumplings and chicken & veggie pan-fried wontons were delicious, especially when dipped in their house sauce. Everything was hot, fresh, and made with obvious care. You can tell they take pride in their food. We left completely satisfied and can't wait to come back! I wish we had a place like this in Nashville!!

Do you ever crave dumplings as a quick snack???!!! If you do, this is the best place to go in the East Bay! They are so quick to seat you and take your order. They have several drinks to try while you wait for your order, so take advantage of their diverse menu! It's so cozy and gives a modern take on a dim sum restaurant. This place really stands out for their chicken options for dumplings. Most places serve pork and seafood, so having chicken as an option for those with dietary restrictions is phenomenal. With that being said, I often order almost every chicken dumpling plate. Doesn't matter if it's the pan fried dumplings, steamed dumpling, or potstickers. I would pair these items with the dandan noodles and the sweet & sour cucumber. I really enjoy this establishment, and I think this is one of the few restaurants that I've almost had everything on their menu. Dough Zone does not disappoint!

Made it here before they closed !! Tried to join the loyalty program , app not cooperating !!! Helpless & frustrating feeling !! Got veggie potstickers & kale salad w/ sesame dressing to go !! The takeout box is cute & different The potstickers had a Lacey quality as they were sautéed all connected next to each other !! The kale salad was basically steamed w/ a savory spicy sesame dressing & chopped peanuts !! This used to be a Veggie Grill, a favorite restaurant ... orders are taken & paid for @ front register & brought to your table by servers

On my second visit: The pan fried beef pies are crisp outside, juicy and flavorful inside. The minced chicken noodles are simple but delicious, with a nice amount of heat. The egg fried rice is fine, but other items are so much better.

As I was serving the soup, I noticed something unusual. When I picked it out and placed it on the counter, it was clearly a yellow worm. Completely shocked, I contacted Uber Eats customer service. They only offered a refund for the soup, not the chow fun, because the issue wasn't visible in that item. But honestly, how am I supposed to feel comfortable eating anything else from the same order after finding a worm in one dish? I then called the restaurant to report what happened, and instead of addressing the seriousness of the issue, the manager asked what we wanted them to do and even offered free food. That response was disappointing and didn't feel appropriate given the situation. It's unfortunate because we've ordered from here before and the food was good, but after this experience, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat the rest of the meal. Dinner and our appetite was completely ruined and it came with a price.

This is a restaurant where the menu doesn't just list dishes...it teaches you something. The moment you open the menu, you know you're in the right place. The Cold Plate (冷盤) section alone reads like a passport stamp to Chengdu: BEEF TRIPE & BEEF FLAKE (夫妻肺片) - tender, numbing, and electric with Sichuan peppercorns. If you know, you know. Sliced Pork with Spicy Garlic (蒜泥白肉) - silky, rich, and packed with real chili heat. North Sichuan Green Pea Jelly (川北冷粉) - hot, sour, spicy, and addictive. Spicy Pig Ear (紅油豬耳) - crunchy, aromatic, and perfectly done. Jellyfish Salad (葱油海蜇) - refreshing, light, and authentically seasoned. These aren't "safe choices for the American palate." These are dishes straight from the Sichuan playbook, and they are done properly. And then the entrées -- highlights worth calling out: Sichuan Tea-Smoked Duck (香辣樟茶鴨) - smoky, spicy, fragrant; a dish you don't see done right very often. They nail it. Boiled Fish Fillet in Chili Oil (水煮魚片) - a must-order for anyone who really understands Sichuan cuisine. Beautiful heat and numbing balance. Cumin Beef or Lamb (孜然牛/羊肉) - bold, aromatic, and cooked with confidence. Dry-Fried Green Beans (干扁四季豆) - textbook execution. The menu is huge, but instead of feeling generic, it feels like a curated journey through Sichuan: hot pots, clay pots, seafood, offal, noodles, cold appetizers, and delicacies you rarely see outside China. This is one of the few restaurants in the East Bay where I'd confidently send someone who says, "I want real Sichuan." And I could see on the receipt they checked everything off so I appreciate that. The one thing I do not like about this place is that you have to pay for the rice separately when you buy curry. I knew this before ordering so I just made some at home, but I find that very odd. Who is going to eat curry just as is? It's like serving a bowl of alfredo and charging extra for the fettucine. It seems to me like a random way to get more money out of guests; I don't know why else it would be that way. Rice costs barely anything; they should consider including it and maybe adding a dollar or something to the entree.
