Pork w/ Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao: These came out steaming hot! These were delicate with a flavorful broth inside. There was a good balance between the pork and crab. Pork & Shrimp Pot Stickers: These pot stickers were slightly stuck together when they came out due to their crispy bottoms. So good! I honestly went here when it first opened and I thought it wasn't that great but i decided to give it another chance. The pork XLBs were SO GOOD. The soup was yummy and the meat was tender. All the dough for the dimsum plates tasted so fresh. The first time I went it was chewy but I'm glad we tried it when they were able to perfect their menu. Great costumer service, constantly checked in on us. We also got the ube milk tea it was refreshing with our meal. I want to try the thai tea (they were out) but def next time! They have specials: the egg fried rice and pumpkin dimsum with whip cream on the side. Such a good way to end the meal. SO happy that Walnut Creek has a location! I have been to the Oregon location and the San Jose location. This store is narrow and long, however did not take the experience of dining here. Service was excellent, prices were much more affordable than Dumpling Hours. Still the same rewards system as all the other locations, to earn points everyone you dine here! Food was delicious! Especially like the dumplings. Parking was easy on the street, depending on time, may have to pay, totally affordable like $2 to $3. Came on a Sunday free parking. Got hungry after some window shopping around Walnut Creek, and Yelp led me to Dough Zone. Not going to lie, when I read "Dough Zone," my initial thought was pizza. It is nowhere near pizza! Lol! I chose a Sugar Plum Juice; which was very refreshing! I ordered the Combo A that included Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings), Dan Dan Noodles and a cold drink- you can choose from soda or a milk tea! Dario O. ordered the Combo B which included XLB, Pork & Shrimp Potstickers and a cold drink. Dario O. chose a Thai Iced Tea. For the XLB, you get 8 and can choose either Pork, Chicken or Pork & Crab. As it turns out, I did not have the best dining experience at Dough Zone. First of all, to access the menu, you need to scan the QR code. We did not have great cell service and needed to have staff bring us a paper menu. We were then informed that the preferred way of placing an order was through the QR code link so there's that... After finally ordering, the staff informs us that the sauce for the Spicy Beef Shank was premixed therefore, they were unable to remove the cilantro. (We ended up canceling that dish). We ordered Dan Dan Noodles, Pork Soup Dumplings, Spicy Beef Pancake Roll and Chicken Potstickers. I'm unsure if any of these are house made but the dumplings/pot stickers tasted suspiciously like the ones from Costco. As for drinks, we had the Ube & Thai Milk Teas which were good but a bit on the sweet side. The restaurant itself was inviting and warm, cutely decorated. So many good reviews, decided to try it out at 3:30pm on a Sunday. They were completely out of any vegetarian options aside from a couple of salads. Oh well, I wasn't that hungry anyway and found some other things to nibble on. (I'm not a strict vegetarian, just prefer to eat vegetarian when possible. This would have been a bigger deal if my diet was restricted.) I will say that the food we ordered was just ok but it was reasonably priced. The Dan Dan Noodles had a weird aftertaste, the chicken wontons were decent, and the scallion pancake was thin and flavorless. A bit rocky at first as we tried to dine here a bit after they officially opened. We did the Yelp waitlist and it gave me messages saying check in by a certain time, confirmed, etc., but when we got there, they said the waitlist thing wasn't working / wasn't in effect and we would need to put our name down and wait. Anyways, time passed and a friend via Yelp and I dined here and tried several dumplings, onion or scallion pancakes, and noodles. The interior looked really nice and things were clean. The noodles were really good as the flavor and textures were all there. The steamed veggie dumplings were mushy in my opinion, but the pan fried ones had a nice bit of texture to them. The green onion pancakes were dry, but they had an alright otherwise. Fast forward a bit longer and my family and I were around the area and wanted dumplings that we can order online. Price-wise, Dough Zone made the most sense since it was around half the price here compared to if we ordered dumplings elsewhere in WC, We tried the soy scallion noodles and the kids really liked those. We also got some of the chili wontons, and they were good too. We tried the pork soup dumplings and the chicken soup dumplings, and other than some got stuck and leaked, we all enjoyed those too.
