It's just a watered down mush- no flavor no taro paste either
Maria T.

Came in today and ordered the $15 taro ball mixed with a bunch of other stuff with taro paste. There was no taro paste and at first it looked dry when I had it, got home and and not sure if there was ice m, must of melted because now it's just a watery mush. Not much flavor :/ We also got their strawberry sago. Which I would of gotten that instead because that tasted better than what I got If you order that maybe eat it there because has no flavor and not sure if they have ice in it but it's just taste like a watered down mess! I thought it had condensed milk or something else. Probably would have tasted better if I ate it there and did not melt. There was no taro paste tho either. So I took away two stars but the sago was really good. Service staff seemed friendly when we asked questions. The picture looked like there was some kinda milk of something mixed with the bowl but it's just ice. Kinda misleading. The drinks look good and the sago is good but I don't think I'll be buying the bowl again.

Iced ube matcha with oat milk, arroz caldo, salmon onigiri, buko pandan.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am this shop exists! I'm currently under the weather and whenever I am, I crave Filipino arroz caldo for a good meal. On a whim, I decided to type it into DoorDash and MayMay's Cravings came up. I decided on arroz caldo, salmon onigiri, buko pandan, and an iced ube matcha with oat milk. I enjoyed every single item I had and immediately had to write my review. Being able to order and eat food that reminds me of home (without having to put in the effort to make all of it myself lol) brings me so much joy! It's also sweet to know that food from my Filipino Asian culture is readily available for others to experience :) Food overall was 10/10 and I can't wait to actually visit in person to try more of their menu. Woohoo! Hats off to the owners for sharing the culture with downtown Walnut Creek!

We walked past by this spot last time and I made it a point to come try it out. Maymay's is co-located with another business (Yi-Fangs). I think the Ats very smart each business' customers will likely check-out both spots. The staff were all friendly, they greet you with a smile as you come in. There's only a few tables inside, it's not very big. When it's busy be prepared to grab and go as there might not be a place to sit and eat. The food is good. We ordered the pork adobo and arroz Caldo from the food menu and Ube latte and Thai tea from their drink menu. All very good. I like their version of the pork adobo. The meat was tender has a bit of sweetness to it. The egg in it though was a bit overcooked (tasted dry). And the egg in the arrow Caldo was not warm. Also, they gave me lime vs. lemon for the arroz Caldo and it was in the dish. I'd rather have that in the side so that I don't have to fish it out of the bowl. Couldn't squeeze anything out of the lime :D. The drinks were very good! My Ube was made with standard sweetness (and it wasn't too sweet) which I loved and it tasted so creamy!!! I'm giving my overall experience 4stars because customer service was great, the food was good, and you get a big serving for the price you pay. I will have to come back and try their onigiris.

We came for the onigiri and they didn't disappoint. They also have day old snacks for cheaper if you wanna buy that as well

Cute Asian snack spot that opened next to Yifang, replacing the previous ever-abandoned kettle corn business. Maymay's main thing is dressed-up instant ramen, but they also sell onigiri, pudding, boba, and other light bites. Minimal decor, very local vibe. Friendly staff and simple offerings. We got one of their creamy lobster ramens to share, topped with fish ball, egg, and crab stick. Their boiling stations are self-serve-- pretty easy to operate. Overall, the ramen itself is fine. I appreciate the variety. The toppings are good. Nothing you can't find at 99 Ranch. I will note that their onigiris are delicious and more generous with the fillings than other spots in the bay. I love the concept but the price, whewww :') I get that I'm paying for the convenience, but $3-9 for a pack of ramen then $1+ for each topping? I gotta be in some elevated level of laziness to justify it (spoiler: 60% of the time, I am)

Spam musubi, strawberry matcha

I was so excited to try this place, but I'm not sure I'll be back. I visited 5/30 around noon. Service: When it was my turn to use order through the kiosk, it died somehow. No worries - I let an employee know and he tried to fix it before we moved to just order through the register. He informed another person with a buzz cut who condescendingly said "well just turn it back on" as if we hadn't been trying to do that. In the middle of me talking with the cashier, the rude buzz-cut guy interrupted to shout accusations that the cashier dude was doing other things wrong and breaking other equipment. The cashier had to step away in the middle of taking my order to address. Coaching should not happen while a customer is trying to place an order, nor should an employee receiving coaching be spoken to so rudely. Felt like i witnessed verbal abuse more than it felt like coaching. While waiting for my order, I continued to observe buzz cut dude speaking rudely to the cashier guy + another staff. Both of the other staff were very kind. Food: I ordered spam musubi + arroz caldo + strawberry matcha Strawberry matcha: unremarkable Spam musubi: delicious. If I return it will be for this Arroz caldo: mid-way through eating I noticed the center of the chicken was cold. I'm assuming they keep the porridge hot-held and keep the chicken in a fridge so they can portion out a serving when ordered. Im assuming the chicken is supposed to be warmed through a microwave or something. Mine wasn't warmed all the way so the middle of my chicken was cold. I couldn't continue eating when i realized. Overall: cute shop but i had a poor experience. Rating 2 stars because the cashier was very kind and the musubi was delicious. Arroz caldo had potential if my chicken wasn't cold. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I assume the buzz cut guy might be an owner. Because if he was not an owner, I cant imagine he wouldn't be fired by now. This is most likely not his first time behaving this way. It is unacceptable to yell at an employee in any situation, but especially when they are mid-interaction with customers. I'm bummed to leave a poor review and would love to support filipino businesses, but if this guy really does own this place, I just can't in good conscience. I hope the staff can find other jobs where people treat them kindly.

So happy I found a onigiri place in the east bay! Last time I came into Yi FANG, Maymay's was closed, so I did not pay attention to it. Quick booth with lots of varieties of items: instant noodles, drinks, onigiri, etc. I like that prices were very affordable and staff friendly as friendly. I like that it's simple decorations and quick place to pick up food and drink items. Clean and bright. Will come again!

Hot water area for ramen

We've been wanting to stop by here and finally got to try this place. It did not disappoint! It is located on Locust Street, and it shares the building with Yi Fang. The staff is very friendly, and it looks like the same owner runs both businesses. Parking can be tricky in the area, but there are several parking lots nearby. We didn't try Yi Fang but we ordered a few things from MayMay. -First, the Onigiri was delicious! 5/5. It reminded me of 7/11 onigiri in Japan. It has the right amount of meat and rice. I had the spicy tuna one and it was good. -I also ordered the Buko Pandan dessert 4/5. This was surprisingly a very delicious dessert. It comes in a medium-sized cup, suitable for eating with a spoon, like a dessert, but it feels more like it should be in a regular boba drink cup. It comes with jelly but it is runny like a drink. It is sweet and it tastes like coconut. If you don't like too sweet beverages make sure you ask to change the sugar level. Regular is too sweet. -My husband ordered the Taho 2/5 and this was our least favorite. First it is cold. It also comes with some crystal-type pearls, but being cold was not something we were expecting. The tofu is also a bit hard and it is not sweet. This was something we wouldn't order again. The cafe also offers instant ramen and various toppings to add to it. Overall, this place is fun, offering a good variety of items. I only got to try one Onigiri but I want to try others.

Strawberry Sago

I've wanted to try Maymay's for weeks but was waiting for a dinner night is Walnut Creek. We were originally in the area for Yi Fangs but after I read the exotic Filipino ingredients, then I wanted my kid to try something new at Maymay's. When we walked in, he immediately asked where the popcorn went (which is funny for a toddler to notice), and we told him that it's a new replacement. First he wanted the Strawberry Sago because he thought that the picture looked like a cake. I explained that it was a drink, and he still wanted it in drink form. It was prepared in a relatively quick time we liked the cute container. We're so surprised that the container first of all was so well-made that it didn't spell when we took it home in our super bumpy ride and then the food inside was not too sweet which is something I was able to share with my son and eat the fresh strawberries inside and we're super happy that it was still delicious, but not overly sweet and it tasted like it was real ingredients not artificial sweeteners, which is not our favorite thing. We will be back to try the halo-halo.

crab and tuna onigiri thai tea

Small but mighty. Huge selection of noodles. Thai tea was delicious. But the stars were the onigiri. The rice is flavored thru with yumminess so every bite was soooooo good! Great service and cute concept. My daughter loved the menu with all her favorites. Teens must love this place! Have to try more for sure

Ramen bar instructions

The only Asian snack bar in Walnut Creek has just opened! This place rivals Dal Dal in Pleasant Hill and has taken over the previous spot where Cornology was. A very unassuming place when you walk in, but has so many different items! There's a menu for made to order drinks, a prepared desserts menu, and a menu for Ramen Bar toppings. [+1 star] Walking in on a Friday night, the onigiri selection was pretty barren (as expected). But they were not completely sold out! Still had lots of tuna mayo onigiris and a couple salmon onigiris left. I was surprised to see how many flavors they offered. The prices were very fair for onigiris - ranging from $4.50-$4.75 depending on the flavor. Spam musubi were priced at $4.50 each. I ordered a spicy salmon onigiri and was surprised at how much meat there was inside! Definitely justifies the price. [+ 1 star] What I like about MayMay's is that they offer a combo mix and match where you can get a combo of three total with your choice of spam musubi and onigiri for $12. You can upgrade to include a drink with your combo and get a Thai Tea Latte or Jasmine Tea Latte for $15. [+1 star] They also have a separate fridge that sells day old onigiris. The day old onigiri menu offers the exact same flavors as the same day fresh onigiris. The price is 3 for $9 or $3.50 each. Of course this was empty on a Friday night. I'd expect these to sell out pretty fast any day of the week. [+1 star] Expansive options for grab and go drinks and also many options for their desserts menu and made to order drinks. Also various options for instant noodles - some common flavors and some niche and some rare flavors. I haven't even seen some at Dal Dal! Excited to try drinks, desserts, and the ramen at my next few visits! [+ 1 star] Staff was friendly and patient to answer all of my questions, which I really appreciated. Once I got my food, I sat down in the shared seating area they have with Yi Fang. There were only 3 tables that seat four and 2 high tops that seat a pair each. I've never had issues with finding a table when I go in for Yi-Fang drinks, so it shouldn't be a problem if you're going to MayMay's.

Super nice owners were willing to accommodate my preference to have zero sugar in the coconut cream for my tofu pudding. It was perfect. Look forward to going again.

Absolutely love this place! The people that worked there in the front counter and the back are just so kind and so friendly and so helpful. I didn't realize that you could get food there but you can. It's not just a drink place. They're having a soft opening, but the ambiance was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place and I hope they continue to do great business. They had a special where you got three onigiri and a thai iced tea all for $15. That's a great deal. The onigiri was delicious. We got the salmon, spicy crab, and regular crab. The only complaint I have is that the sticker for the restaurant is so thick that you can't rip through it to open up the onigiri wrapper properly. I think the sticker for the restaurant needs to be thinner or not over the red pull tab. The Thai tea was really yummy.

On the left are day old onigiri, discounted
