Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Banana Milk
Sara B.

Their Vietnamese coffee with banana milk is amazing!!! I am a banana lover, especially in my iced coffee and lattes. I have tried several banana flavored coffee drinks, and this one reigns supreme. They are located in the Walnut Creek library, with an additional entrance through the outdoor seating area. The shop is also very cute and offers sandwiches and desserts. Highly recommend to stop by!

Came across this coffee place on IG and I just knew I had to try it. I came here with my friends for a quick coffee break and just fell in love with how delicious the coffee is! We had the banana milk Vietnamese coffee. We definitely try to come here at least once a week to treat ourselves to this amazing coffee. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. I have also tried a few of the matcha drinks and they are also so delicious!! You can't go wrong with any drink here. The shop is within the Walnut Creek Library so if you come by, don't be alarmed that you're in the wrong place. There are a few 30 min parking spots and also other parking spots that you do have to pay for.

This small little coffee shop has a big menu! Tons of drinks to choose from, not to mention their current seasonal menu offerings. I am all about Dubai anything right now, so immediately I knew I wanted to try their Dubai chocolate dalgona coffee. I could tell right off the bat that they use artificial pistachio flavor for the milk portion but I appreciated the real pistachio crumble on top. The eggspresso AKA egg coffee was good, but could have been more egg-y for that custardy feel. They were super friendly here though and service was fast! I like that they are connected to the library, and you can even bring the drinks through the library if you have the lids on. Since they are connected to the library as well, it was nice to be able to park in their private lot/underground garage to avoid the busy street parking.

Reminds me of this place that sold banh mi and boba that I used to study at during my student years. I saw the banh mi advertised and just had to try. They've got an eclectic mix of food and drink items to choose from: some more traditional breakfast items, sandwiches, and some traditional coffeees, and some Asian-inspired drinks as well (ube, matcha, Vietnamese egg coffee, etc.). For the banh mi, you can choose from a small or large size. Got to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Bread was nicely toasted and there was a good ratio of filling to bread. To be honest, I forgot about this place since it's attached to the WC library, but writing this review makes me want to stop by in the near future.

We've been coming here for over a year and it's just the best. Always happy to support a local business and Thuy the owner is so friendly and sweet. The Vietnamese coffee is strong, sweet and perfect. We've tried all the different bahn mis here and not only is the bread legit soft yet crunchy but the ingredients are fresh and tastes amazing! So glad to have this place in town. I've already been here many times and introduced my friends to it too. Happy to report their vegetarian bahn mis are top notch which is perfect for me trying to eat more plant based foods.

Saw this on TikTok and wanted to give it a try! We tried the Vietnamese coffee, matcha banana drink, and the cold meat bánh mì, and overall I had a great experience! The Vietnamese coffee was really good. It was super strong but not too bitter at all. It also had the perfect level of sweetness. Definitely a standout drink in my opinion. The matcha banana wasn't my personal favorite. It wasn't bad, just not something I'd go out of my way to order again. The banana flavor tasted a little artificial to me, but that could just come down to personal taste, I'm sure many others enjoy it!! But honestly the real star of the visit was the bánh mì. It was SOO good. Extremely fresh, full of flavor, and tasted very authentic. I would absolutely come back just for this! On top of the food and drinks, the shop itself is adorable and connected to a library, which makes it such a cozy and unique spot to hang out. Overall, a place I wouldn't mind coming back to and supporting!

Vietnamese Iced Coffee & Binggrae Banana Milk coffee

This was our first time at Prologue. We ordered online for pick up at 1:20. We got our drinks around 1:30 with no issues! We got the Vietnamese iced coffee with a pandan cold foam and the binggrae banana milk coffee. Both drinks were very good we had to slow down so we could enjoy them! The coffee itself had a nice nutty chocolaty flavor! They had seasonal flavors that also sounded good! Definitely will come back to try more!

*coffee review* the viet coffee with banana milk was dangerously good (and strong). came on a weekend and there was no line! service was a bit slow, so budget for that or order online for pickup. there are a few tables inside and outside. located in the WC library, but there's direct access on the street corner as well.

I finally had the chance to try Prologue! I had always wanted to try it, and the chance eluded me several times due to my needing to go home for my baby's nap or other parental challenges. Some toxic fumes at my gym, led me to head to the library where my mother-in-law who was visiting was hanging out. When I arrived she was in the cafe! This cafe is located inside the library. Finally, now here's my chance. She took my baby to storytime, and I finally had the chance to enjoy a drink here. The reason I wanted to visit so badly is for its very interesting menu from Coconut Coffee Affogato to Dalgona, there's a wide array of unique drinks! Plus, they have bahn mi on the menu which I want to order next time (with pate! yum). The prices are a bit high here, and they don't match the menu, which is annoying. The menu said $6.45, but it rang up at $7.25, so I don't appreciate that. However, the staff here is fantastic. They are great at explaining the drinks and being friendly about it. I didn't feel rushed (I did step aside to let someone else order) while I browsed, but was met with a smile and more explanations. I wanted a drink that had a dairy-free base, and the staff member was helpful! I ordered the Coconut Coffee Affogato, which was delicious! It's blended with coconut milk to a slushy consistency that I loved! The 16 ounce drink was plenty! I sat at a quiet table to work and thankfully, there were plenty of open tables, so I didn't feel like a bother. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu and pick up a bahn mi! Note, it does open before the library opens, so that's helpful! There's also free 30 minute parking inside the library lot.

Was debating giving this 3 stars because I thought the banana matcha was too milky and the banh mi was mid but just realized there aren't a lot of Vietnamese coffee shops around the area. I messed up and should've ordered some type of Vietnamese coffee and will report back when I visit again. Banh mi - 8/10 Banana matcha - 7/10..I have tried plenty of banana matcha and it's my favorite.

Banh Mi: 4.25 out of 5 Ordered the large sandwich because I haven't had a banh mi in sooo long. & if you know anything about Walnut Creek there aren't many Vietnamese owned restaurants. Service: 5 out of 5 Friendly folks Environment: 5 out 5 Clutch spot inside the library! Small cafe area with a few tables Overall: 4.5 out of 5 Solid sandwich with fresh ingredients & great french bread.

Hakone charcoal rose coffee latte, eggspresso Vietnamese egg coffee

I have been meaning to try Prologue, so I finally had a chance to go. There is only limited free parking in the library lot so you will likely have to park further away if you're looking for free street parking since many of the neighboring blocks charge money for parking or do not allow people to park without a specific permit. There is a screen kiosk where you can order instead of talking to cashier but it's tucked off to the side by the shelves. There are two outdoor tables and free library wifi. You can walk into the library to find single stall bathrooms. We happened to be there right when the owner was getting filmed. I ordered a Hakone charcoal rose coffee, aka their charcoal latte, 16oz with regular milk, and got the vegan banh mi, large, which is 9 inches. I also tried my partner's Vietnamese egg coffee, aka the eggspresso. The charcoal was not too bitter, I was surprised since I thought maybe the charcoal plus coffee would make it taste more bitter and acidic but it was totally fine, even for me as someone who is sensitive to bitter tastes, and I like the floral flavor from the rose. The egg coffee is also pretty sweet. The foam is creamy and has an eggy and dairy flavor. I thought it was also pretty good. Both drinks are quite sweet. I would recommend Prologue if you like flavored drinks. The banh mi is also decent, I like the savory plant based meat though it's almost a bit sour in flavor, and the texture does resemble meat; it tasted like it was soy-based. I like the pickled carrot and radish but it probably could've been more strongly flavored. The jalapeno, especially the seeds, was spicy. But it is not the most flavorful banh mi I've had, although it was still pretty good. The bread is flakey, so just be aware if you're eating somewhere where you don't want to leave crumbs. Overall, I'd say the drinks were more outstanding compared to the food.

Loved loved loved this Cafe! Located inside the library. This line does get pretty long making the wait time long but it is well worth the wait and you can visit the book store while you are waiting. I got the banana latte which is a must try if you love banana. We also tried the charcoal rose latte which was unique and also delicious! The only thing we didn't really care for was the burrito. The tortilla was stiff and it was lacking some flavor. The avocado toast however was very good. I will most definitely be coming back and look forward to trying their matcha. Some seating is available inside and outdoors.

You can taste the freshness and care in everything they make, which totally lines up with their homemade approach and focus on balanced Vietnamese flavors. And do not forget to order the Vietnamese Thai tea. Trust me. It's delicious and somehow makes the whole meal even better. It's a literal whole in the wall haha. It's located in a small structure in front of the Atrium building in Walnut Creek. Inside is a small counter with no place to sit. They take your order and you're expected to go outside, on the other side of the store, to wait for your meal. There are a few tables and chairs outside that's ideal when the weather is good. The aroma of freshly cooked Thai tea filled the space. I ordered BBQ pork and it came out smaller than I expected but it tasted clean and fresh. It was enough to satisfy my craving. Service wasn't very fast as they cook the meat as you order that accounts for the freshness of the sandwich. I paid for extra pâté but it still wasn't enough. If you're used the the huge delicious banh mis from Story Road in San Jose, the pork bbq sandwich from here don't measure up as far as I'm concerned. They're much smaller, almost half the size. I wish the pork bbq had more flavor to it and more veggies were added. If you have a big appetite, one sandwich might not be anough.

Everything was delicious, especially the red curry! I also want to shout-out the take-out person who made our order, they did a great job and got all of our adjustments right. (We wanted some things omitted/on the side) I was nervous there would be a mistake but it was perfect so shout out to whoever that is. And I could see on the receipt they checked everything off so I appreciate that. The one thing I do not like about this place is that you have to pay for the rice separately when you buy curry. I knew this before ordering so I just made some at home, but I find that very odd. Who is going to eat curry just as is? It's like serving a bowl of alfredo and charging extra for the fettucine. It seems to me like a random way to get more money out of guests; I don't know why else it would be that way. Rice costs barely anything; they should consider including it and maybe adding a dollar or something to the entree. Nonetheless, we would order from this spot again; we really enjoyed the food, the portions were really good sized too.

As I was serving the soup, I noticed something unusual. When I picked it out and placed it on the counter, it was clearly a yellow worm. Completely shocked, I contacted Uber Eats customer service. They only offered a refund for the soup, not the chow fun, because the issue wasn't visible in that item. But honestly, how am I supposed to feel comfortable eating anything else from the same order after finding a worm in one dish? I then called the restaurant to report what happened, and instead of addressing the seriousness of the issue, the manager asked what we wanted them to do and even offered free food. That response was disappointing and didn't feel appropriate given the situation. It's unfortunate because we've ordered from here before and the food was good, but after this experience, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat the rest of the meal. Dinner and our appetite was completely ruined and it came with a price.
