Got it on a toasted Dutch crunch roll that brought it all together. #15 Avocado, Sprouts, and Cheese - On a soft wheat roll with the crunchiest cucumbers. All veggies were very fresh Parking was limited with a small parking lot in the back and street parking. Welcomed by friendly staff that grabs your order over the counter and then they send you to get in line to pay at the register. You can also place online orders. The wait wasn't too bad on a Sunday afternoon and definitely worth it. Easily became one of my new fav sandwich shops! read more

So I have to preface this by saying, I've been here 3 times now. Every single time something has gone wrong. So hear me out... On all 3 occasions I've gone to this establishment, they have either run out of certain types of bread or certain deli meats. So then when I call ahead of time, nobody answers the phone...ever. and because they're always out of something, I always have to change my initial order. And then when they say, why didn't you call? I let them know that I did, but nobody ever answers. This leaves me credibly frustrated, and for that reason, I give them a 3. I do enjoy the Italian sub, the Reuben and the classic peppered, Turkey sandwich. They are also very fairly priced. As a whole experience, I give them a 3. I'm hoping when they move to Pleasant Hill. This is sandwich shop is soooo good! I don't tend to visit many deli shops but am so glad that I got a chance to try this out. My company decided to group order from this shop and it was 10/10. Service was great. I had gave them a quick call prior to sending in an order to ask what was in their ingredients (such as pesto). I don't eat dairy so I just wanted to make sure! I would consider this spot a hole in the wall/hidden gem. I can tell this is a very popular spot because even 30 minutes from closing they still have people popping in for a sandwich. I feel like to get the best experience here you have to either order ahead and pickup, or get there early enough to have your choice of bread. I arrived 30 minutes before closing and only have a choice of 3 types of breads. I ordered the 3 1/2 on the baguette roll. For me it was kind of small. 12 bites and it was done. Yeah I actually counted lol. It tasted really good though. The Flavors were there but the size for me was just kinda small. My friends who normally get sandwiches here even said the sandwich was kinda small and it was most likely because we got the last choice of bread. I do want to come here again, but I would get here earlier so I can get my choice of bread. Their menu is also huge in my opinion, plenty of options. Waited a good 35 minutes to order and love that they sell large bags of chips, family size! You can order online before you head over too, might save you a long wait to order. The Tri-tip sandwich is a Steak sandwich with melted cheese, horse radish, on garlic ciabatta (romaine, tomato, peppers, and onions. The pesto chicken sandwich is a Pesto, mayo, lettuce, spinach, tomato, bacon, chicken , cheese, with avocado. Both sandwiches were quite tasty and asked for Dutch Crunch on both. There's usually a really long line out the door but came in to grab a late lunch around 3pm and only 3 parties were ahead of me. Score, I thought. Right as I got to the front the staff took a "catch up" break and put up a "we'll be right back" sign. After about 10 minutes of waiting to order, I waited another 20 mins for just 2 sandwiches to get made. As I was leaving, to top it off, I get yelled at by a female employee for exiting out of the back door, she literally chased after me and said if I ever did that again, I would never be allowed to come back. A pretty extreme threat for a simple mistake without one warning? Sorry I was rushing to my wife and kids who were waiting in the car for what was supposed to be a quick pickup. Been coming here for 20 years and that's never been an issue. This place is such a hidden gem, it's in the cuts of Walnut Creek you wouldn't just stumble upon it. When I remember, which would be after work or in the late afternoon when they are closed or sold out of bread. All that to say...Go early and call ahead. I was smart to go on a Sunday afternoon, it was busy and had a good 15-20 minute wait time but it was worth the wait. The staff was super friendly and had so much patience for people who don't know what they want or had to read all they text messages to get all the orders in. We met at 11am and luckily it wasn't too busy. A quick glance of the interior found no major changes since my last visit. Pricing remained very reasonable, with most offerings below $11. We ordered two sandwiches at the counter - a #1 Italian Sub and a #16 Tri-Tip Sandwich. With a couple drinks, the total was about $28. The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. By the time I finished paying the cashier, the line was out the door. I had the #16 and it was good as usual. It had a decent amount of juicy and flavorful sliced tri-tip. With melted cheese and all the fixings on a garlic ciabatta, it really hit the spot. George seemed to like his sandwich as well. Morucci's is still one of my favorite sandwich spots in the East Bay. I like The Natural with its cream cheese, sprouts, black olives, and walnuts(!) of all things. Mom loves The Caprese, which I too have had and is also delicious. You can definitely share a sandwich or save half for later. We've been here a few times. The first time, our new parent class did a lunch get-together after class, and we had sandwiches delivered from here. I was blown away by the Chicken & Pesto sandwich which also has avocado too. Running errands in Walnut Creek area around lunchtime so decided to look up a good sandwich place and Morucci's popped up prominently with 4+ stars. In hindsight, I got there just in time (12:15pm). There was already about six people in front of me in line waiting to order. At the counter there was a sign that said something like 'we'll be right back' but I could clearly see workers busily and efficiently making sandwiches. Puzzled, and in no hurry, I decided to wait and find out what the deal was. I never asked anyone but I think they were processing online orders. The reason I say that was because about 10 mins after I arrived, a line of about 20 people formed behind me! Wow, ok, I should buy a lottery ticket because I arrived at the right time. I ordered two sandies: the #1 and the #1.5. I ate the #1.5 - it was two weeks ago at the time of the writing of this review, but the ciabatta was nice and soft, meat cuts were tasty and fairly generous, and overall the sandwich just worked. Nice and tasty as I'd expect a 4+ sandwich shop to be. In sum, not at all disappointed. I ate the #1 the next day and it was equally good. I'd recommend either/both sandwiches to anyone. Definitely a hidden but a IYKYK gem, was recommended this place and thought how good could this little deli be? Salami, mortadella, hot coppa and provolone cheese with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and Italian dressing and Pesto. Wow, wow, wow. This sandwich packed a punch! When I say it hit the spot, it did and I'm pretty sure I inhaled half the sandwich in a few bites. Had to slow down to thoroughly enjoy the rest of it. The Ciabatta is perfect at absorbing the pesto and is nice and spongy interior with enough substance to hold everything together and a nice chew of the crust.
