Very bad experience. I don't know what's up with this, but we ordered takeout to enjoy during the 49er game. I ordered the roti and it came with just 4 pieces stuck in a paper box and that was it! I made sure to read the description again and it said roti and curry so that was a bummer. It tasted good but I not for the price. In the picture, it shows eight triangles and as you can see from my picture, I got four and no curry. That was very disappointing. I got the veggie and tofu yellow curry and once again it's so expensive! In there were six pieces of mini corn. There were two broken down chunks of tofu, only one piece of broccoli and one potato and then like a lot of stalks of something and I just felt like that was not worth it. I got the cucumber salad and that was OK and I got a side of rice but all in all it just was disappointing and for such a high price it just wasn't worth it.
Everything on the menu looked good and I wanted to get everything. Although the dishes were good, it wasn't amazing. For the portions you get, I didn't feel like the price was worth it. The batter on the calamari was a bit thick for my liking and the sauce was too so it didn't stick. If I am ever in the area again, I would like to try other items though.
The food and service here are really excellent. We started with a chicken soup that was a wonderful blend of flavors. We also had roti with a curry sauce and chicken satay. Our favorite main dish was the pumpkin pork, which was served in a squash shell. Incredible presentation and excellent seasoning, without being very spicy. We bulked up with shrimp pad Thai. We rounded out the meal with marinated beef, which was a little tough but tasted great. We also had 3 orders of rice for 5 people. The service was so kind and welcoming, while the food was very, very good. We will definitely be back. The only negative was the noise level. The restaurant was packed, with many groups waiting to be seated.
I went to Andaman Thai this past weekend with my girlfriends for the first time. We ordered family style. Everything we tried was amazing. The service was very fast. I really enjoyed the young coconut water, papaya salad and the basil Thai rice. There's plenty of paid parking in that area which makes it easy to plan for a big gathering. Highly recommend if you like Thai food and haven't tried this place.
This is our favorite Thai place in Walnut Creek. We come here regualry and the food never disappoints. This time we came on a Friday night around 6pm without a reservation. The place was packed and there was a waiting list for tables. Lucky for us, we said we are open to sit outside so they seated us fairly quickly. We ordered a cocktail (Old Fashion), roti curry for appetizer and pumkin curry with chicken and spicy tofu. We have tried all of the dishes we ordred before except for the spicy tofu. I wouldn't get the tofu dish again. It was just ok for me. Everything else was delicious! Depsite being seated outside, our server came and checked in on us regularly. The tables and chairs outside were a bit dusty/dirty. I wiped them down with santizing wipes. I guess I could have asked them to clean them but didn't want to trouble them since they were very busy. We will be back again the next time we crave for Thai food!
I don't get Thai often, but this restaurant changed that! I loved every single dish I ordered and can't wait to go back and try more. The mango in the sticky rice dessert was perfectly ripe. The pumpkin curry had was a nice balance of sweet and savory. Loved the presentation of it, and thought I could eat the bowl The waiters were very attentive, and the setting was on the nicer end of casual.
Due to illness in the family, I have been traveling a lot to Walnut Creek. I am there nearly 4-5 days a week, so I have been exploring around the city more than ever. On the upside, I'm getting to eat out a lot more often. One absolute gem and place I would go to, almost every day if I could is Andaman Thai. I'm starting to become a regular and have been working through the menu with my sister and family. There are so many things that I would recommend, but the Pumpkin Curry is at the top. I have taken the pumpkin home twice now and baked it with the leftover curry inside. The fresh spring roll is delicious, the Tom Yum Noodle Soup - so soothing and flavorful, the tenderness of the Grilled Beef Salad or kick to the Tofu Salad. The drunken noodles are delicious, but the pineapple fried rice - ahh, there are too many options. The service is always friendly, fast and welcoming. The place is comfy, great for bigger groups and has a great beverage, beer and cocktail menu.
We made reservations for a Sunday night and it was full house! Rule of thumb for bigger parties definitely snag a reservation by calling them to ensure no wait. We ordered a bunch of dishes but the chefs special minced chicken was so unique and packed with heat. The portions here are also huge and are great for the price. The drunken noodles were good but weren't anything special and weren't spicy either. The cashew chicken was alright, I'm not a big fan of nuts so I didn't gravitate towards it. Despite the restaurant being so busy, the service was great and I'd definitely recommend this spot!
Had another excellent dinner at Andaman. Service was excellent, as usual. Tried the chicken noodle soup, which was very good. Standouts were the grilled pork entree and yellow curry. Never had mango sticky rice for dessert. It was nicely presented and tasty.
Surprisingly impressed.....I don't plan ahead to come here. When My Apple computer crashed, I needed to treat myself to a good meal. I looked on Yelp and they came up and I decided to give them a try. I had the papaya salad, fried rolls and a beef stir fry. I also ordered pumpkin curry to go-- 10 out of 10! The service was great and everything was yummy. I will be back. Make sure you have money for the private parking meter because the owner of the lot will give you a ticket.
Came here for dinner on a Sunday...and warning, if you park in the parking lot, it's a metered parking, so you'll have to pay - that was shocking to me! Besides that, the restaurant's ambience and interior was pretty and intimate. The menu was like a storybook with big fonts, pretty photos, detailed, etc. We ordered the mango salad, pad see ew with beef, and tom yum soup with chicken. The mango salad was fresh. The pad see ew with beef was delicious, I wish there was more. I had to ask for some spicy sauces/chili to add onto the pad see ew because I love spicy! The tom yum soup with chicken was okay, it didn't seem as flavorful as other tom yum soup I had before. Service was great!
Food was very good, service attentive. Huge location and nice decor. However it is a local mall that you have to pay for parking. I prefer the San Ramon location because of this.
Stopped here after a Kaiser appt and found the best (and prettiest) pumpkin curry i ever remember having. It was slightly spicy without being overwhelming. Definitely a place i will return to.
Food: Crispy tofu salad was AMAZING! Beautiful flavors, light and filling. Chicken laap was one of the better ones I've had in a while out here in the area. Plus's side is you can really taste the rice powder which unfortunately, some places seem to omit all together. And lastly their Pad Thai...nothing special, but overall good taste. Loved everything we ordered. Can't speak on the service as this was a take out order but lots of parking in the lot. Overall great food. Will definitely be back for some laap! read more

I really like this restaurant. It's honestly one of the best Thai places I've been to. The food is really good, and the soup was especially delicious. The only area I think they could improve is the service. It would be nice if the servers checked on the tables a little more often. It seemed like maybe one server was covering too many tables, so they may have just been a little short-staffed. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is really nice, and overall we had a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I went to Andaman Thai this past weekend with my girlfriends for the first time. We ordered family style. Everything we tried was amazing. The service was very fast. Came for an office lunch celebration - it seems to be a pretty busy spot during lunch hour. The staff was very nice & quick, and the ambience was very inviting. Their lychee tea is one of my favorites - just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered the drunken noodles, which is one of my favs. It was pretty good but wasn't really spicy. The pricing isn't too bad, so I'll definitely be back to try more items. read more

My frustration with this Thai restaurant is they charged me for extra meat and combination and I asked for medium and it was super hot when I called to get it resolved. would come down to restaurant last resolution was I could come back down to the restaurant and have them remake it for me. That's just ridiculous. I ordered from GrubHub. It was a delivery so my resolution is I will no longer go to this Thai restaurant nor will I use GrubHub that way I won't have that problem anymore. read more

Everything was so good! Came here for a birthday dinner and was pretty impressed - the decor, the service, comfortable seating, the food! Has a lovely bar too that looked very inviting. Airy place with a nice ambiance, our waiter, Luigi, was pretty prompt, our food came fast and tasted delicious. We had the yellow chicken curry, pad thai, tofu, chicken skewers, pompano fish, pad see ew noodles, brown rice was good too, and mango sticky rice that was beautifully presented in a heart shape - have never seen that before. Looking forward to come back here for more meals. read more
Absolutely delicious! I went here for my anniversary with my partner, and we both really enjoyed the food and drinks. We got the Yellow Curry and Pineapple Fried Rice for dinner and the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. The pineapple fried rice is served inside of an actual pineapple which I thought was so cool! For drinks we got the Thai Royal and Moscow Mule. The Thai Royal was very sweet and florally, exactly what I love! The service was also phenomenal. Very quick and kind. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but bigger than you might expect from the outside. We have ordered take out from here a few times after our anniversary dinner as we love it so much! Welcoming vibe abd good ambiance. We came here on a weeknight and were seated promptly. It was peak dinner time and the restaurant got full quickly. The food is authentic Thai and unapologetically spicy which we loved. We got the lava beef (but they were happy to replace it with chicken as requested) so a plus for the service here. The tom yum chicken was flavorful and the portion could easily serve 4 bowls of soup. The food was delicious and portions decent. I'll look forward to coming back to check out theirnother dishes! read more
We were invited to a quick lunch and the restaurant was super busy! Service was fast and we were pleased. Nicely done inside decent ambiance and right across the street from the hospital. Of the food options the Tom Yum soup was excellent, while the ginger eggplant also had good flavor. The chicken wings were average, the calamari was ok. We felt there was a lot of heat missing from the food but the available spice rack was helpful. Overall, a nice place and will return. read more
Return for lunch and really appreciated the lunch specials. I ordered the ginger eggplant with chicken and my husband ordered the drunken noodle with pork. How to knock down a star because I found a ginger eggplant far too salty. However, it was portioned well and I think the lunch special is a good deal. We also ordered the corn fitters for the first time which were really tasty and unique. Great service and got really busy around 1 PM. read more

We went here for my birthday and had a great time! We got the tamarind prawns and pumpkin curry- both were delicious! The corn fritter and roti appetizers were good as well. The place is nicely decorated and we really had a nice dinner! read more

Absolutely fabulous little Thai spot. My family and I stopped for lunch here after attending a party with very few food options available for us. I was delighted by the ambiance, food presentation and the drinks. I enjoyed everything, however the papaya salad lacked depth of flavor as did the Larb. With that being said, the staff, the food, the prices are amazing and I cannot wait to go back and try more! read more

Pad Thai was great! Also got the Roti and curry appetizer and that was amazing the roti is buttery flakey and the curry has amazing creamy flavor! Only thing is the bathrooms get crowded. read more
Food was really good here! The green curry was the best we tried so far in the area. Great serving of beef and veggies. The texture of soup base was thicker and more flavorful than other thai places. Pineapple fried rice was good too. Amazing presentation. Service was great! We got seated right away at dinner time on a sunday. Our glass of water was always full and they were very attentive. It was packed and food came out at a good time. Ambiance of the restaurant has a lot of chatter going on and nice fancy thai decor. No music was playing and tables were pretty close to each other. Restaurant is in a strip mall and you have to pay for parking. Great place for a nice date. read more

Busy but we were able to walk in right away. Inside looks pretty clean and welcoming. Food came out pretty fast and staff are friendly. I would say the food was pretty tasty. I didn't take a pic of the Tam Yum soup but personally I am not a fan of white meat and corn dish. Everything is great!!! read more

Delicious Thai food! Our family has been wanting to try this restaurant and I am so glad we finally did! The food did not disappoint. We came on a Sunday for lunch and it was busy but we were seated right away. The staff is friendly and the restaurant decor is welcoming and stylish. Since it was a large group we got to try several dishes. I didn't get pictures of everything, but the food shone here, and the majority of things we had were good. Appetizers: -Corn Fritters 5/5: this dish was delicious!!! The perfect bite every time. A lot of flavor. This is a must-order. -Satay Chicken 4/5: This was good, but the chicken was a bit dry. It was an overall a solid dish but nothing extraordinary about it. Entrees: -Peppercorn beef with eggplant 5/5: This was a surprisingly outstanding dish! Very flavorful and a bit spicy. It was unexpected how good this was. -Fire Pork Belly 5/5: another delicious dish. The pork belly is cooked and seasoned to perfection. -Ginger Eggplant with Chicken 4/5: simple and flavorful. The ginger flavor was not overpowering. I would order it again. -Grilled Marinated Pork 3/4: The pork was dry to me, and the meat was a bit tough. Compared to all the other dishes, this would be a no for me. -Pineapple Fried Rice 4/5: very flavorful and balanced. I enjoyed this dish. -Tom Yum Fried Rice 4/5: This dish has a strong tom yum flavor. It wasn't my favorite but several people in my group enjoyed it. -Drunken Noodles with Beef 3/5: This was ok, it was not as flavorful and a bit more on the sweeter side. -Pumpkin Curry 4/5: great curry, lots of flavor but not overpowering. -Spicy Cat Fish 3/5: We had high expectations for this one, and it was just very spicy but not a lot of flavor overall. -Chicken Larb 5/5: delicious! Perfectly seasoned on the spicier side. Great dish! -Papaya Salad 5/5: It was gone in less than 5 minutes. Well-balanced and flavorful. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant with outstanding dishes. It was fun coming with a large group because we got to try several ones. read more

Tried 3 dishes. Three buddies: HOLY. Why is there not more reviews on this??!? It is SO good!! Finger licking BBQ pork, delicious Lao style (with raw crab), sticky rice and delicious fish sauce. I will be back to order this. Pad See Ew: good! A little sweeter than expected Pumpkin curry with pork: great presentation. Not a lot of pumpkin. Tons of protein. The pumpkin is NOT steamed, you can't carve into the pumpkin :( Service was polite and helpful! Modern decor. I will be back for their three buddies and to try their "secret menu" listed near the back of their menu book. read more

Warning: This Place Doesn't Play With Flavor or Spice Stopped by Andaman Thai in Walnut Creek and let me just say... this place is the real deal. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and beef, and it came out flawless. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the sauce was rich and balanced, and -- most importantly -- I didn't have to add a single thing. That's how you know it's good. The chicken and beef were cooked just right (not dry, not sad), and the vegetables were fresh and actually green -- not that mystery brown you sometimes get elsewhere. Then came the star of the show: the Tom Kha Soup (spicy, with chicken). First of all... when they say spicy, they mean it. No fake "Thai spicy" here. This soup was savory, bold, and absolutely nailed it. Hands down one of the best Tom Kha soups I've ever had. And as a meat eater, I was impressed -- they didn't skimp at all. The bowl was loaded with perfectly cooked chicken thigh, tender and flavorful. This soup alone is a reason to come back. The ambiance was inviting, and the decor was beautiful, giving the place a warm, authentic vibe that made the experience even better. Add in the fact that the restaurant was spotless and the service was phenomenal -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming -- and you've got a winner. Bottom line: If you like real Thai flavors, legit spice, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere, Andaman Thai is a must-try. Come hungry, respect the spice level, and thank me later. read more

Do they take reservations?
It depends. For large groups yes. Otherwise they try to avoid taking reservations.
Do we have to pay for parking?
Definitely pay the meters, they will and have ticketed others in the restaurant. Even for pick ups.
Is their a gluten free menu that states which items are gf?
I ordered from their online menu and when you click on the item, some items have an option to select "gluten free." Those items can be made gluten free upon request.
