To say I LOVE this place is an understatement! My brother suggested my sister and I meet for Thai food at this restaurant. 1) I wasn't familiar with the restaurant and 2) I had never had Thai food before. I arrived a bit a bit skeptical however I was quickly impressed with the ambiance when I walked in the door. There was a nice full bar and a few tv's. The room was somewhat lowly lit and pretty loud which made it a lively place. Since I had not eaten Thai before I had no idea what to order. Been here a few times and the food is delicious! We had a 7pm dinner reservation and sat in the back but was a little dark and loud, the table was a bit small for our group. However we were starving and excited to eat! Service was okay and staff were very kind. Everyone raved about the delicious flavorful food. Recently went back on a Friday around 7pm as a party of two and we were seated immediately! Lobster Pad Thai - A unique spin on pad thai and yummy! I'm glad I tried it, although I don't think the lobster adds that much to the dish. Next time, I'd probably stick with the classic chicken or shrimp. I was so happy I had leftovers after. Their drink menu was pretty extensive and so I ordered something that was really pretty, but can't remember the name of it. I really wanted to like this place more because the interior is absolutely beautifull. It's one of the nicest designed Thai restaurants I've been to in the WC area. The seating is very comfortable, the space feels upscale, and if you get one of the Locust west-facing windows around sunset, it's a pretty nice atmosphere. The host made a great first impression with a warm welcome and got us seated right away. After that, though, the service kind of faded away. Our server rarely checked on us, and when we were ready to pay, we waited for quite a while before finally getting up and finding him ourselves to ask for the bill. As for the food... it was just very average. The Tom Kha soup had a strange chlorine-like aftertaste that was hard to ignore. The lamb shank looked good but was a bit dry, and the garlic pepper chicken was just... there. Nothing bad, nothing memorable either. Overall, it feels more like a stylish cocktail lounge that happens to serve Thai food than a destination restaurant for the food itself. I ordered a Ka Prow Kai from the prix fixe lunch menu along with a tofu spring roll, she ordered a Tom Kha Soup with Chicken Pad See You, and we decided to share dessert, which was Mango Sticky Rice, of course! My favorite was the fresh tofu spring roll, especially when dipped in the creamy peanut sauce it was served with. I also enjoyed the macaron they served with my dish. There was eventually a server in shorts and sunglasses (at night) who kneels at the tables to present your drinks to you. It was very entertaining. The food was awesome. The ambiance was very warm and romantic with the lighting and decor. They also had a separate table for guests to put gifts or their bags at. The food were all on one side of the room and they were delicious! I didn't take note of every single food but it was good! The food is self serve. The only thing is that, they didn't give us bowls for the curry, but I guess you can pour the curry over rice haha. They also had servers that came around and took our drink orders and also refilled our water. The Thai tea was delicious and sweet. I had a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but they put in a ball of compressed round ice that really reduced the volume of liquid. However, they did give me another free glass as they duplicated my order and error. The garlic wings and vegetable crispy rolls were delicious. I would suggest though that they give you more lettuce to wrap the crispy rolls. They were really sparse about that. For my main entrée I had the Pad See You with shrimp. The protein cost me an extra eight dollars for a total of $30 for the dish. A bit pricey in my opinion, although it was quite tasty. We joined a bunch of friends for Christmas Eve dinner. There were a dozen of us so we split up the ordering into two sides of the long table. Must have ordered about 20 dishes between the appetizers, mains and desserts. The best part is the effort the kitchen makes on plating. The dishes were very presentable! Taste wise a couple of items were super delicious, a couple were not so great, and the rest were somewhere in between! The sauces - instead of curry - with the roti didn't excite anyone. Pepper beef was delicious but felt small. The mango in the mango sticky rice was tart, but then it's not the mango season! Service was nearly perfect. Alice kept her sense of humor and was helpful. There were a couple of errors in the orders but no big deal. The bartender, Christian, came out to the table to help with the drinks orders. Very helpful! Good came relatively fast, my crab fried rice was good although very sweet, it's like a dessert quality sweet!! I had with chili sauce and kinda balanced out. But a note to the chef, please don't make main dish so sweet! I had crab fried rice from many Thai places all over USA! It's never sweet! And one of my in laws is Thailand native, even she said it's sweet, so that's why saying tells something! Now I tasted my wife's pad see ew, it's bland, flavorless, again had better! Moreover the chickens are beaten to death (literally the chicken slices are so dry and so thin!) Overall it's an average Thai place, compared to the buck not that great! Veg Crisp Rolls Chicken Pad Thai Garlic Pepper Chicken Drunken Noodles Mixed Vegetables Jasmine Rice This restaurant did catering for our office and boy did the deliver. It was my first time drunken noodles which I was uneasy about since I typically don't do spicy foods but WOW, it was packed with so mix flavor. All the food we got was super hardy and good. I typically have a snack after lunch but I was full until dinner time. They also delivered right on time, too which is always a plus in our book.
