The chicken wrap was also solid--juicy chicken, fresh greens, and not heavy at all. The cucumber salad on the side was crisp and refreshing and went well with everything. I had a LIMONADA and it was very minty and cold--really refreshing with the food. The place has a nice vibe. Stylish crowd, good energy, and a DJ playing chill music and mashups in the background. Went to Stereo41's Yelp event with my mom and we both had such a great time! We got the citrus grilled chicken wrap, hamachi tostadas, and a mocktail -- everything was super fresh and flavorful. The hamachi tostadas were definitely a highlight for us. Everyone working there was so nice and welcoming, and we were seated in a booth which made the experience even better. They also gave out cute disco ball keychains, which was such a fun touch. Overall, such a good way to start off Mother's Day weekend. They also mentioned they're running a wrap special for the rest of May -- buy one get one free! I believe it's Monday-Friday until 4pm, but I'd recommend calling to double check the details. I came around 11;20am reservations for 11:30am. I was greeted and seated right away. I was told my waitress would be right with me. Sorry my server. And she came right away. I told her I was ready to order. I had to study the menu in and out. First the tostada it was so so pretty. I didn't want to eat it. It was bursting with flavors. I appreciated the burst of new flavors so much. Then came my candy mocktail sweet sour it's just the way I love my drinks. But, 100% better! Then came my wrap chicken and a secret sauce. It was just so flavorful the chicken moist and the sauce perfect amount. The crisp on the outside of the wrap! Perfect! I honestly got full from the tostada. I couldn't stop eating it. I did taste the salad I love the lemon flavor it wasn't overpowering. I want to be a fly on the wall to see how everything was created! Perfection. We were seated immediately and had the friendliest and informative server, I believe her name is Ashley. She went over the lunch options and made a fantastic recommendation. I made a lunch reservation. I walked in to be seated, no one was there when I arrived. I waited about 5 -8 minutes, meanwhile took a few pictures. I started with the sour candy mocktail, $13. The drink was good, just like sour candy, light on tamarind flavor but it had over 50% of ice. I believe it watered down the flavor. Then I got one hamachi tostada, it was delish. The chili oil stood out. It gets messy eating it, but very good flavors. Slightly like a ceviche tostada. The price of $28 I felt was high for a small appetizer. The chicken wrap was delish and packed with meat. I liked the olives in it. It came with a cucumber salad which paired excellent. The cucumber salad was full of flavor. I could taste the mint, cilantro and fennel. Very refreshing. It also came with a side salad. I felt the side salad had too much dressing for my liking. The Moroccan paste/sauce it came with was super delish, flavorful tomato paste/herb with a kick. The wrap was def worth its value of $17, it was a nice size and heavy on meat. I ordered a tiramisu dessert $14, it was very cute, the bread was good tasting. Dropped in for a Yelp Elite event and was very impressed. Background music was a nice lunch touch - not too loud so you couldn't talk yet you could hear the tunes. Host was fantastic, took the time to explain the event to me, accommodated my request for a window facing seat, and made sure I had a good experience. Server was fantastic and I appreciated her recommendation to be sure to squirm the lime on the tostada. Definitely coming back with the Mrs for happy hour! Sour Candy Mocktail.... first sip came across as grapefruit juice but second sip was full flavors of tamarind, passion fruit. Super delicious, mild puckering. The hamachi tostada had some super fresh ingredients and great flavors including a spicy tasty sauce, a bit hunk of fresh hamachi, and some nice avocado. The haloumi skewers with figs were pretty good, another large portion which was nice. The beef salad was not bad, though the beef was a little mushy and bland. The stars of the show were the drinks though. I had a mocktail (Sour Candy) that was very tasty and well made and I had a cocktail (Calypso) that was like a classic tiki drink but with a nice hint of herbal bitterness (from the Campari) -- plus it came with a flaming 151 shot in a hollowed out lime on top! We saw this place the last time we were in town hanging out and said the next time we come to town we would try it out, so here we are. The inside is really nice and the DJ playing music is great. Its not a club type atmosphere more like a lounge that has food and music which is nice. We came at happy hour so of course we tried drinks and food that was on the happy hour menu. We ordered the Little Red Corvette and the Silk Road. Both of the drinks were great. The little Red Corvette is one of those drinks that you could keep drinking so fast and then it hit you. The Silk Road had more of a sipper drink, manly because of the type of alcohol in it, you couldn't drink it fast like the little Red Corvette. For apps we ordered the Beef Karaz meatballs, the Halloumi cheese skewers, and the Mushroom Skewers. The apps came out pretty quick which was nice. The meatballs were tender, had a curry flavor to it, and the sauce that accompanied it was perfect sweet taste to it. The Cheese skewers were cooked perfect and tasty. The mushrooms skewers had some good flavor and also cooked perfect. The service was great as well. The employees were really nice and attentive. I recently hit up Stereo 41 at Happy hour with my foodie friend, I went in the middle of their HH and sat right up at the Bar with the Bartender Juan, I had ordered a few Appetizers off the menu and the drinks were pretty good. I gave the Bartender a custom recipe for a Drink I made and he nailed it. My frend had ordered their version of the Manhattan and it tasted great with the Cardonmon. Mushroom Skeweres, Tuna Tartare, and Hamachi Tostadas were really good. Definitely a new place to try before they start the Music and Live Deejay. It tastes like a melting pot of different flavors and textures that work together very well. I would definitely recommend trying this. The chicken wrap comes in a huge portion and is delicious. It's served with cucumber and a small salad along with an harissa chili sauce. The sour candy non-alcoholic cocktail is delicious but a little pricey at $13 for a mocktail. The baklava was very tasty although the pistachio layer was a bit hard (maybe from being chilled?) they also serve Buddha Beer for $6 and you can add a well shot for another $6 which is a great deal. The space is large with both in door and outdoor seating options. It seems like they may have some brunch and possibly day party vibes on the weekend if that's your thing or not. I felt that because of this, their staffing was light, so I waited a bit to get noticed and seated. But once I sat down, I felt like I stepped into a mini vacation. The food? It was delicious! Dinner was delicious! The service was wonderful. I can't praise Tara enough for the wonderful conversation and food recommendations! My table ordered everything she recommended, and I was pleasantly surprised with the unique flavors and textures of the various dishes. The Halloumi Cheese looked like tofu and had a similar texture but when you bite into it with the fig, honey, and sesame, you are greeted with a nice salty and sweet flavor combination. I also enjoyed the Hamachi Tostada. While it was another great dish, just beware there is a slow burn to this one. The chili will sneak up on you! If you choose to get the Hamachi Tostada, I recommend you order the Limonada mocktail. The creaminess of the drink will help put out the burn. The braised beef paired perfectly with the turmeric rice. The crunch of the pistachios was a nice touch to the rice. I expected the radicchio salad to be bitter but the berry vinaigrette and burrata helped balance the flavors so it was not bitter at all. If it's an option on the menu for the night, try the Miso Almond Ice Cream. It was an unexpected but flavorful dessert. The ambiance felt like a contemporary and trendy lounge. Although there wasn't a DJ present (he/she apparently comes around 9:00 pm), the music wasn't too loud. I could hear the conversation at my table. Standard falafel with Nori, yet i couldn't taste or smell the nori and they managed to sell it for $16 for 5 pieces. The appetizer platter was typical hummus, muhamara which was not exactly that. We got the gimme gimme gimlet and the basil one which I can't remember the name. Service was excellent throughout the evening attentive, friendly, and professional. The Hamachi Tostada deserves 5 stars on its own. If you come here, you MUST order it. The fresh fish comes with chili crunch, avocado, and umami mayo on a crispy tostada, and it is bursting with flavor. It's been 3 weeks and I'm still daydreaming about it! For my entree, I got the Braised Lamb Neck, which is another 5-star dish. As an individual serving, the tender, flavorful lamb was cooked to perfection with zataar, herb, and pomegranate and served on turmeric rice. The portion was large, possibly sharable for two if you have a couple of starters/appetizers. I took home leftovers. My fiancé got the Slow Cooked Beef, which was also very tasty with tender meat and a generous portion. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the Nori Falafel, which felt a bit flavorless in comparison to our other food. I was happy to see they have a selection of tasty zero-proof cocktails! I enjoyed my Palomita. Stereo41 is great for celebrating special occassions or for a fancy date night, as it is pricey to eat here for dinner. Ok, I now understand the hype about this spot! After a grueling work week, I was in the mood to try something new and fun. Stereo41 is the new hot spot in Walnut Creek, with a cool and unique concept. The cuisine is Middle-Eastern with Japanese influence - what a cool combo, and one that executes very well. The flavor combinations jump at you, and will revive even the most jaded palates. We ordered the hamachi tostada ($23), and the other reviewers raving about it weren't lying. Fresh hamachi, with avocado and chili, in a umami mayo sauce. Oh wow. Beautiful flavors, just the right amount of spice, and they didn't skimp on the fish. Nice crunchy texture as well. Do try this. We also went with a dozen oysters ($2/oyster on the happy hour menu, 6 piece per customer limit). The habanero/shallot mignonette is nice. We also had the trout sashimi ($16). I enjoyed the citrusy shiso sauce. Beverage-wise: The Sassanid Smash cocktail is tasty. Interesting tamarind flavor you don't find in too many cocktails. Also tried the Stereo Martini; beautiful presentation but a bit too sweet for my taste. Attractive interior, with lots of pops of color. Evidently the cool artwork was done by one of the owners himself! One thing I would change is the seating area in the dining room. Instead of tables and chairs, I would suggest more of a lounge layout, with low tables, rugs, stools, pouffy cushions to sit on, etc. and some colorful curtains to cover the large windows and create a dimmer, more intimate environment. Stereo41's other claim to fame is the sound system, which they evidently invested a lot into designing. I'm sure audiophiles will appreciate this aspect of the experience, but it's a bit lost on me, tbh. Maybe it's the music genre. Let's put on some Purple Disco Machine (perfectly fitting for the ambiance!) and I'll be sold. Strong start for this new Walnut Creek spot. I'm confident they will do well. The Food (A definite 5/5!) The kitchen here is truly doing amazing work. * Appetizer: Stereo Mezze Platter - Fantastic! This came with two baskets of pita and three main dips, plus a great combination of pickled and fresh veggies/olives. We were all hungry, and this dish delivered. Highly recommend starting here! * Mains: We ordered the Lamb Kofta Bowl and the Slow Cooked Beef. Both were served over amazing rice with Japanese cucumber and fresh leaves. * The Lamb Kofta was incredibly tasty and sumptuous. * The Slow Cooked Beef was very tender and flavorful. Areas for Improvement (Service & Menu) While the food was perfect, I do feel they could elevate the customer experience with a few tweaks: 1. This restaurant was nice but the service took long from drinks to food. We came on a Saturday evening. When we arrived it had not filled yet but by the time it filled was when our food was sent. The food was good but I've had better. For Mediterranean at a restaurant like this I expected much more of a high value experience and quality. I'm a regular at Silk Road. For the cost, I would have just went there but wanted to try more. We sat for 30 minutes before our drinks came and another 20 before our food arrived. It took a bit. read more

Walnut Creek... you are not ready for this one! Stereo 41 just opened and I'm already planning my next five visits. Add this to my rotation immediately, the restaurants in WC hate to see me coming! We were invited to the soft opening and from the moment I walked in, the vibe was vibing. Velvet walls, graffiti-style art, moody lighting, it's giving hip, modern, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. And then the DJ starts playing the perfect soundtrack... like okayyy, ambiance, I see you. 10/10 on the energy. Drinks: Amazing. Like the type of drinks that make you forget you swore you were "only having one tonight." Balanced, flavorful, dangerously smooth. Starters: Hamachi tostada, Listen LINDA. LISTEN. This hamachi melted in my mouth so beautifully I almost shed a tear. Buttery, bright, perfect. Halloumi cheese, Delicious. I'm a grilled halloumi girl and they delivered. Potatoes, Crispy, flavorful, addictive. I would like a bucket for takeout, thanks. Mains: Short Rib, I don't eat meat (pescatarian life), but everyone else at the table went SILENT when this came out. Fall-apart tender on top of Middle Eastern bread that soaks up all the juices... it smelled incredible even from my pescatarian bubble. Whole Chicken, looked Perfectly seasoned, juicy, crispy and honestly looked like something you'd see on a cooking show finale. Every main comes with a full platter of sides: Middle Eastern bread, hummus, spreads, olives, dips, and OMG the mashed chickpea soufflé dish?? What was that? Why was it so good? Why am I still thinking about it? I'd eat a whole bowl as a standalone entrée. Dessert: The matcha tres leches deserves its own paragraph, its own award, maybe its own zip code. I didn't want to share. I'm STILL not over it. This is the dessert that ruins other desserts for you. Service: The owners were incredibly friendly, like genuinely proud of their menu, excited to share the story, and took time to visit every table. They explained each dish, checked in constantly, and made the whole experience feel special. You can tell they care. Stereo 41 is officially in my Walnut Creek rotation! Amazing food with a middle eastern and Japanese fusion, gorgeous space, the perfect DJ set, and a menu that hits every category from comfort to creativity. Is this the new hot spot in Walnut Creek? I felt honored to have the opportunity to join a friend to check out the super cool digs. Daytime lunch party? I think so. I really love that you can find spots in the East Bay that have an emphasis on fun and multi-functional for guests that may not be able to make it out on the late night (newer mamas, I see you!) And if you take anything from this review..the hamachi tostada is worth driving for. Chef's kiss. No notes. Served with chili oil/crunch, avo, umami mayo, and a simply beautiful presentation, this dish can't be missed. I'm still thinking about how each bite was packed with so much flavor and crunch. A few other things to note..the ambiance and stellar vibe. I adore the vibrant colors and pop of pinks throughout the restaurant interior/exterior. I can't wait to already come back for an evening event (cue the babysitter!). The interior is spacious, and the outdoor space is just waiting for fun. The bar is beautiful and the cocktails look divine. I went with a zero proof Sour Candy mocktail for this go-around, and that was the perfect sip decision. As for mains, our party did lunch bowls ~ lamb and beef. So tender, innovative, and love the blend of Middle Eastern and Japanese influences..what a delight. On the way out I had to stop for a round of applause for the pink DJ booth and of course, the disco balls. Such a treat. Tickled pink to return soon to enjoy more menu memories. Bravo! We came to try this new spot in downtown Walnut Creek for happy hour and sat at the bar! They seemed to be setting up an area with a DJ at the time, which I'm sure would translate really well into the night once more people start coming! The interior feels chic and the Japanese-Middle Eastern fusion menu is really unique! We ordered the Mezze platter and drinks; the flavors of the dips were different from what I've ever tried before, and the drinks were well made! I do wish the drinks were presented with some sort of garnish to make them stand out more; and the pricing - even considering it was a happy hour menu with smaller portions - was quite steep in my opinion. We came here for New Year's Eve, $50 per person which included a DJ and one glass of champagne. So glad we made a reservation because there were definitely walk-ins waiting. We arrived around 10:30PM and assumed they'd bring the champagne closer to midnight, so we ordered cocktails in the meantime. But then I noticed other tables already being poured champagne, and even getting refills. When we asked, our server said we could have ours whenever we wanted. By that point we already had drinks and didn't want the champagne sitting there going flat. There was just a lot of inconsistency with how the champagne service was handled that night. That said, once we did get ours and finished it, we were offered refills and some of us ended up having 2-3 glasses, which was nice and kind of made up for the earlier confusion. The music wasn't totally my style for most of the night, but there were definitely a few good songs mixed in. Service was a little spotty. It was hard to get water refills, and we eventually had to go up to the bar ourselves to ask for water. Shoutout to Dewy, the main bartender, he was super cool and came around to our table offering more champagne and even did a fun "pour straight from the bottle" moment, which added to the NYE vibe. I would come back just for Dewy! but sit at the bar! The billing situation at the end was a bit awkward. My sister had prepaid for two people, and we added two more a few days before and were told she could just pay for them at the restaurant. When the bill came, my husband paid it. But a couple days later, my sister noticed she had also been charged for the two additional guests. Thankfully we had a photo of hubby's receipt, and she was able to get the refund sorted out. I guess this is the new and hot spot in Walnut Creek since I keep seeing ppl post about it on my IG feed. My girls and I decided to go here for a Friendsgiving dinner on a Monday night. I thought it may be a lil slower (which it was according to the staff) but I thought it was a good amount of guest for a Monday night. It was 5 of us and our waitress recommended us to get 2 apps, 1 lammet sofra, and 1 kushiyaki to share. Which I really appreciated because I didn't feel like she was trying to ring our bill up. We ordered the marinated mussels, the hamachi tostada, the mezze platter, togarashi chicken, and the slow cooked barramundi. I recently gave up liquor so I ordered a sour candy mocktail ... OMG- so good!! It was refreshing and had the right balance of sweetness and sourness. I My girl ordered the Dubai Alexander and she said it's one of the best cocktail she's ever had (I was so tempted to try for real) So the minus star is due to our mezze platter that never came out. The mussels and tostada came out quick, but our main took a while to come out. So we were waiting for a while in between the app and main. I am sure because it's a new restaurant so they are still ironing out the kinks. I wish I could give half stars, so I can give them a 4.5, is because everything we ordered was DELISH. I highly recommend the tosatada, so much flavor and so fresh. I also recommended the chicken. It is a great portion to share and it was also very tender and juicy. It was quite pricey but worth it because the chicken was huge (like it was on steroids) and it came with sides. As for the music, I thought it was going to be loud but it wasn't at all, we didn't have to yell across the table lol. And they were playing some really good music. Came here for the soft opening on Saturday the 8th. We ordered a few drinks and there were passed hors d'oeuvres. The oysters with ceviche were delicious! It's hopping here! The DJ is playing great music, it's a fun space with beautiful art on the walls. The walls by the bathroom are covered by small mirror tiles - simply gorgeous. Can't wait to go bank! read more
