I've been to Havana many times before, but this particular visit happened after a long gap so I was keen to know what had changed, if anything at all. The interior was familiar with the bar in the back and the middle island seating available. But everything was clean and lively. The menu appeared to be a mix of old and new items which was appreciated. New tapas, entrees, and drinks allow for a wide selection that'll fit any party size or appetite level. Our server was very upbeat and friendly which was great, granted the restaurant was starting to pick up steam (we arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday). We ordered the Chimichurri Skirt Steak and the Paella. Both flavorful and delivered in a timely manner. The real MVP though has always been the mojitos and this continues to be the case. So good! Parking is either street parking or we parked in a structure and walked over. We went on a Monday evening started off with a few mojitos. Passion fruit Lychee and white peach vanilla mojitos. Both were good but I liked the lychee flavor better. For appetizer we had ceviche with banana chips. The banana chips were delicious with the ceviche. For entrees we picked paella and the ropa vieja. The paella was good came out hot and with shrimp, chicken, chorizo , clams and muscles. The ropa brisket was good but to me it felt like a crock pot. Not fall off the bone melt in your mouth brisket. Havana is always amazing! Thirsty Thursdays are so fun- salsa lessons and a live Cuban band! Plus the food and drinks are always great! I enjoyed a classic mojito made "not too sweet" the way I like it. The Cuban sandwich is a classic and the best around. The ham croquettes were bursting with creamy rich flavor. My two new favs are the fresh hamachi crudo with bright flavors (this little balls on top are concentrated lime! So amazing) and the snapper ceviche made in traditional Cuban style. Greeted & seated immediately by a super nice woman at the front desk. latin music playing, a vibe for sure. We came here for a quick drink before heading to the R&B brunch and we should have just stayed here. The atmosphere was fun and friendly the bartender Jesse was FANTASTIC!! Being completely honest, I didn't know what to expect coming into a Cuban restaurant for brunch as a first timer but now I'm questioning why I waited so long!? From the second we stepped inside, the owner greeted us like we were long-lost family members who just inherited a fortune. The vibe here is immaculate, but let's talk about the real MVP of the morning: the bottomless mojitos. They aren't just "bottomless" in theory; they are a continuous, delicious stream of minty joy. Pretty sure my glass had a teleportation device attached to it because it was never empty. As for the food? Absolute magic. The French toast is an absolute cloud of deliciousness, the Chilaquiles have the perfect kick to wake you up, and the Ropa Vieja is so tender and flavorful it should honestly be classified as a mood-altering substance. The ambiance is cute and delightful. The service was nice and accommodating. I've been her before and it's always been a good time ! The fried plantains with avocado dip were DELICIOUS!! We order I think 3 of them hahaha and the meals we ordered everyone enjoyed !! Second 5-star review for Havana because their brunch really is that good. The booths are comfortable, the vibe is fun, and it's a great spot to relax for a weekend brunch. My friends and I ordered the plantain chips and avocado mash, which was a small snack to share with everyone. Ordered the chimichurri skirt steak and that was delicious. I came in simply because I love Cuban food, and Havana absolutely delivered. The tables were set perfectly, giving the whole space an elevated yet welcoming feel. I started with the mash and guacamole and it was out of sight. Fresh, flavorful, and the kind of appetizer that immediately tells you you're in the right place. Then came the ropa vieja empanadas -- and these slapped so hard. Crispy on the outside, packed with rich, soulful flavor on the inside, exactly how empanadas should be done. To close it out, I ordered the ropa vieja, and that dish carried it all the way home. Deep, comforting, slow-cooked flavor that reminds you why Cuban food hits the heart the way it does. The service deserves its own shout-out. My waitress was amazing -- charming, funny, and incredibly attentive without ever hovering. I wish I remembered her name, but she was from Pittsburgh and had me laughing throughout the meal. That kind of genuine hospitality makes a huge difference. As if the night wasn't already great, as I was about to leave the owner personally came over and presented me with a cigar. As a heads up, 20% tip was included in the bill for having a large group. I came for brunch with a group of 6 on a rainy Sunday morning. We had a reservation so we were seated right away but there was plenty of seating available I think due to the weather and not a ton of people out and about. Service was a little slow; it seemed like only one or two servers were working but ours was very nice and apologized for the delays. I had the ropa vieja with yucca hash. Havana provided us with an excellent experience. As soon as you walk in, the ambiance and decor is super cute and fun! They have indoor seating and a bar. The cocktail menu is amazing, with many flavors of mojitos and craft cocktails! The food was delicious. We went for brunch and I am looking forward to going back for dinner. Traveled to Walnut Creek last weekend to take in a holiday play (A Christmas Carol) at the Lesher Center. I wanted a restaurant with tasty food, and not too noisy and within walking distance of the theatre. Found Havana and make a reservation. We arrived a little early and were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. The vibe is classy and cozy. We reviewed the menu and had a hard choice between the many choices of Mojito. I chose the Cherry-Ginger Gin Mojito and my wife had the Blood Orange-Sage. Both were delicious! After reviewing the menu with our server Jeff, we chose to order off the Tapas menu, sharing several small dishes. We started with the Roja Vieja Empanadas with a Chipotle Aioli, the Grilled Shrimp with Sofrito Rice, and the Day Scallops with Truffle-Cumin Crema. My favorite was the Shrimps and my wife loved the Day Scallops - but honestly everything was flavorful. We ordered a second round of Mojito my wife staying with her original Mojito while I switched to the Pear-Clove, wanting to try a different flavor. This blend of 5 liquid ingredients and fresh muddled mint was also delicious. We capped off the dinner with a shared Caramel Rum Flan which was divine. We learned from Jeff they often have live music on Thursdays and have Mojito specials several days. Had dinner with my wife and daughter here on a Saturday night. Really nice food with good music. There was a lot of high table seating, which we usually try to avoid but there wasn't an option to choose a regular table during my reservation. Loved the food, the scallops had a great sear. The potatoes had a sweet taste which was nice. The kids chicken was ok, I enjoyed the corn that she had (though my daughter didn't like it). Lamb was really good, not gamey at all. Chimichurri steak medium well was cooked perfectly. Fried rice was nice but there wasn't a lot of oil at the bottom. Paella was good as well but just not as crispy as trleferic or va de vi. so happy i had came here for dinner. it was very slow and empty on a tuesday night. the host and our waitress were so fabulous and friendly, i wish i had gotten their names. our waitress was so kind and gave us great suggestions for mojitos and was very knowledgeable of the food and drinks menu. the food came out very fast, and hot. it is so beautiful in this restaurant, they have outdoor seating as well. it was very clean in the bathroom and all around. you are given your own water so don't worry about being thirsty or waiting around to get your glass refilled. i got the fig mojito and they were able to swap it for dark rum. i love that the menu was not too big because that is how you know they are able to put a lot of care into their dishes that they make. everything was so delicious. i would love to try the brunch here. i got the vaca frita, it was perfect. i loved how crispy the beef was, the tostones compliments the whole dish. my boyfriend got the ropa vieja and it was also very delicious. the meat was stewed with tomatoes and i love how the plantain paired so well to combat the slight acidity of the meat. read more

The rioja beef empanadas had a rich buttery crust and savory filling. We then dove into the paella that was filled with plenty of chicken and seafood, with al dente rice and saffron flavored. A friend suggested I try this restaurant and the delicious food they have. I came here with my family and I ordered several tapas - tuna tartare with spicy yucca chips, veggie empanada, yucca fries and grilled lamb chops and everything was delicious. My daughter and husband both got a plate - rope vieja and chimichirri steak which they both liked. For dessert we couldn't help but try a couple - rum flan and churros with chocolate. In addition to the delicious food, the service was excellent. Mia was very attentive and the Manager, Carla was very hospitable. I used to love this place, so I was a little disappointed on my last visit. I used to get the kale salad, which could be made allium-free, but they've changed the recipe and now the alliums are pre-mixed into the salad. When I asked if they could make a fresh salad without alliums, they weren't accommodating and said there wasn't anything I could eat. My fiancé and I ended up leaving and went to a different restaurant where I could eat something vegan and allium-free. read more

It's been a few years since I've last been here, but this place is still delicious. It was my first time trying their lamb chops. They were cooked well and had really good flavor. I wish the jalapeño sauce was a little spicier but still great flavors. Service was good. Our waiter was very attentive though I wish he would've told me the jalapeño sauce was the same as the one that came with the yucca fries instead of charging us extra for another sauce. This is my go-to spot for the scallops, the lamb, and a good lemon drop--but today was truly next level. This was, by far, the best restaurant experience I've ever had. The food was fantastic as always, but the service? Absolutely over the top. The manager--Patrick? (Sorry if I got the name wrong!)--was outstanding from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Not only did he warmly engage with the young girl at our table, but he interacted with all the kids in the restaurant--learning their names, playing games with them, and stopping by their tables to chat throughout the evening. Came on a Thursday night with some friends. We made reservation just incase but when we arrived at 7:30 it wasn't too busy. I'm sure on weekends it can get busy. Parking can be an issue so be prepared for that. Nice spacious dinning area and they also have a bar. We were seated quickly and our server was nice and attended to us right away. We ordered a little bit of everything to try empanadas, fried plantains,chino cubana fried rice(this was my favorite),lamb chops and mango spinach salad and everything was delicious.
