Ate here for lunch, the waitress took our order, pretty clear order, had the flight and French toast, flight had 3 items you had to choose from, we did that and added a full order of French toast. 20mins later. Food came, order came wrong, flight had a french toast instead of ropa, told server, she then proceeded to scold us, tell us, "well I repeated the order", and you acknowledge, mind you, she never repeated the order, she then proceeded to take the order back to the kitchen, food safety 101, once it passes kitchen doors it should never go back. 20 more minutes pass, the correct order comes, I tell the server, " 40mins for an order is kinda long to wait", she then proceeded to argue again and how she repeated the order etc etc, at this point, hangry and all, I told her, I dont even want to argue, im just letting you know. We start eating and guess what, the flight consist of 3 small palm size dishes, they reused the 2 of the dishes, coz it was cold, and added the ropa which was still warm. Manager/owner comes by, "how's everything?", not even addressing the situation, when I bring it up, he proceeded to argue about it. What could possibly be wrong with these people, you as the owner do not need to prove a point to your customer, simply acknowledge and do a service recovery, so you can retain these customers and keep them coming back, you can already see and feel the customers frustration and yet you choose to argue vs control the narrative. If that was my restaurant; Leave the wrong order, have the customers start eating that food and bring in a side dish of ropa, I mean that ropa is a small side dish, literally the size of my palm, would that really break the bank for your restaurant? Why argue? Why? We cater to this restaurant, my wife's business had an event and asked them to do catering, even recommended to other folks. Having good food is one thing, but the service, elevates your experience to a totally different level. Manager came back probably realizing what he did was wrong, offered a $10 coupon to use today and another to use at another time. If your intent was to do this in the first place, why argue and upset your customers? Customer retention is key, and i may just be one customer reviewing this experience but hopefully that should be enough to at least reach some folks in your organization and help change "customer experience". Will I come back? NEVER!!!
To begin, the service was great as always! We were taken care of by bartender JP, who plays a big part in curating the cocktail menu--and he definitely did not disappoint with the drinks! JP and Joe both took part in serving my boyfriend and me throughout dinner, and the service was wonderful. I'll start by saying that I've never had a drink at Havana that I didn't like! The appetizers were delicious as well, and I'll definitely continue coming back. P.S. When Dungeness crab is in season, it's BOMB! Definitely a must-try. The lamb chop is also really good with the chimichurri sauce. I just wish I had a photo to share!

I made reservations for 2 people and we were seated promptly at the end of the restaurant near a door tuck in a corner. I should have asked to be moved... now that's on me. We had a couple of tapas and one main dish. I am not all tickled with the empanadas. I had better ones from Peruvian restaurant. Maybe the Cuban recipe is just different. One thing I did like is the flan for dessert. Everything else is ok.
I bookmarked Havana a year or two ago when one of my friends recommended it. We were deciding where to go for dinner on Friday 8/7/26 and when I mentioned Havana being on my Yelp list, one suggested we go there so I can check it off my list before I move to grad school! Making a reservation online was easy. One person in our party of four was running late but they were able to seat us without the entire party present. We've gone to restaurants that require the entire party to be present so we appreciated that Havana seated the 3 of us as soon as we arrived. Though I didn't order any alcohol, I did try my friends' pineapple martinis and passion fruit lychee mojitos. The consensus was that the pineapple martini was better. It was more sweet than alcoholic and I might have ordered one myself had I not been driving! Our friend who arrived later got a watermelon jalapeño mojito. I didn't try it as I don't like watermelon, but she said it had too much mint. We began our meal with the spicy yucca chips with mango salsa. Despite "spicy" in the description, the chips weren't spicy and paired nicely with the mango salsa. For my entree, I had the mango spinach salad and added shrimp ($10 extra). The portion was generous while not being too heavy. Two of my friends got meat entrees and unfortunately I forget what the third had. Our waiter was friendly and gave good recommendations. When my friend mentioned the mojito had too much mint, he told her she could ask for little/no mint next time. The restaurant itself was not noisy despite coming in a Friday evening. As for the pricing, some might say it's on the pricey side depending on what's ordered. Even though adding the shrimp to the salad was an extra $10, my portion of the bill was still the cheapest ($26 total + tip). The drinks definitely add up! Would return for sure, especially for a special occasion!
Food is great! I love the chimichurri steak it's really tasty. Also the drinks are good just wish it was bigger, items are a little pricey. Staff are ok, Overall the restaurant is pretty clean. Will be back
Joe was an amazing host/waiter! He kept checking on us throughout our meal to make sure everything was good. The food was absolutely amazing, and we were very, very satisfied. Great food and excellent service!
Gavin provided welcoming, informative, and attentive service for our party of 4 for brunch, which included one vegetarian & me with a nut allergy. We wanted to eat family style and Gavin confirmed with the kitchen that we could get the chilaquiles with the chicken on the side in a separate dish, the breakfast hash with the ropa vieja beef separated, and the plantain French toast with pecans on the side. Everything was delicious and my vegetarian friend and I enjoyed the bottomless mojitos, our favorites being the classics and the white peach (3rd flavor for bottomless offer was prickly pear). We loved the music and the atmosphere. Thank you, Gavin and the Havana team!
Parking is either street parking or we parked in a structure and walked over. We went on a Monday evening started off with a few mojitos. Passion fruit Lychee and white peach vanilla mojitos. Both were good but I liked the lychee flavor better. For appetizer we had ceviche with banana chips. The banana chips were delicious with the ceviche. For entrees we picked paella and the ropa vieja. The paella was good came out hot and with shrimp, chicken, chorizo , clams and muscles. The ropa brisket was good but to me it felt like a crock pot. Not fall off the bone melt in your mouth brisket. But I would come back to try some other items.
The ambiance was everything. The lighting of the restaurant was dim but also bright enough to still see around the time we went. closer to 830pm. Greeted & seated immediately by a super nice woman at the front desk. latin music playing, a vibe for sure. Service- MIIAAAA was super sweet & knowledgeable about the menu. i was being particular about wanting a side of cream with my dish and she knew exactly why & was able to bring me some. she checked on us the right amount of times & at the end reminded us of their brunch & live music hours. she also made sure to have the manager give us 2 certificates for money off our next visit since it was our first time. give her a raise! food/drinks- everything and i mean everything was delicious. from the drinks to the appetizers/tapas & the entrees & desserts. everything had flavor, the drinks were perfectly strong and not overpowering taste of alcohol either. 10/10 we'll definitely be back

Service was amazing, our server was spot on they cleared empties, but weren't intrusive They set fresh for our entree, which is such a classic service style There was never a time we needed anything at all, except maybe stretchy pants so we could eat more Food and cocktails all had unique and deep flavors! Their cocktails had perfect balance and used fresh ingredients Paella is one of my favorite dishes, and I hesitate to order it for fear of disappointment, but after trying the delicious tapas I did it and this is my new favorite Paella! Can't wait to go back
A lively spot to drink and sober up in downtown Walnut Creek. Service is A+ and it is located in a fun area to hop around. However, for Cuban food, it was underwhelming. The croquettes didn't have much flavor and the grilled shrimp and rice was very sauce heavy. Not the worst Cuban spot, but just okay.

Bottomless mojitos and mimosas! Brunch is such a vibe here - drinks are flowing, food is fire and our server was the best. Shoutout to Mia for keeping us fed and tipsy! Havana has been my gal pal spot for a while and GALentines Day was no exception. Reservations are highly recommended because this place fills up. Our table arrived starving and we basically ordered the left side of the tapas menu and we had the gall to order entrees on top of that - smh. Highly recommend: -Grilled shrimp with sofrito rice -Scallops with mashed potato purée -Mojo chicken wings -Empanadas -Steak and eggs -Seafood paella -Chilaquiles The flavors, quality, and presentation were on point and of course we got stuffed after the initial tapas. We came here for a quick drink before heading to the R&B brunch and we should have just stayed here. The atmosphere was fun and friendly the bartender Jesse was FANTASTIC!! She took such great care of us we came back after our disappointing brunch at another restaurant. The bottomless mojitos is a steal and kept us in our seats for way later than we expected. I will definitely be coming back here to try the food cause they already won me over with the service and cocktails! read more

Great experience overall! It's honestly hard to find a good Chimichurri steak, and Havana absolutely delivered. This was our first time here, and we came in for a dinner date for two without a reservation. We were accommodated very well from the moment we arrived. Joe, our server, was amazing! He treated us with great care, was attentive, and consistently checked in on us throughout the evening without being overbearing. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Before we left, the manager even came by personally to ask about our experience and tell us about their live music nights on Thursdays, which was a really nice touch. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Havana, for such a great experience! 10/10 -- highly recommend! read more
Second 5-star review for Havana because their brunch really is that good. The booths are comfortable, the vibe is fun, and it's a great spot to relax for a weekend brunch. We started with the Chicken Ropa Vieja Chilaquiles. I had the Plantain French Toast, which was amazing, and my husband had the steak and eggs. We finished with churros and gelato, which were the perfect sweet ending. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Between the bottomless mojitos, great food, and friendly service, Havana continues to be one of our favorite brunch spots. read more
I came in simply because I love Cuban food, and Havana absolutely delivered. From the moment you walk in, the Cuban-inspired theme hits you -- vibrant, warm, and done so eloquently without feeling over the top. The tables were set perfectly, giving the whole space an elevated yet welcoming feel. I started with the mash and guacamole and it was out of sight. Fresh, flavorful, and the kind of appetizer that immediately tells you you're in the right place. Then came the ropa vieja empanadas -- and these slapped so hard. Crispy on the outside, packed with rich, soulful flavor on the inside, exactly how empanadas should be done. To close it out, I ordered the ropa vieja, and that dish carried it all the way home. Deep, comforting, slow-cooked flavor that reminds you why Cuban food hits the heart the way it does. The service deserves its own shout-out. My waitress was amazing -- charming, funny, and incredibly attentive without ever hovering. I wish I remembered her name, but she was from Pittsburgh and had me laughing throughout the meal. That kind of genuine hospitality makes a huge difference. As if the night wasn't already great, as I was about to leave the owner personally came over and presented me with a cigar. That touch of class sealed the deal. We talked about my trip and his family's trip to Cuba -- real conversation, real connection, no rush. That's the kind of hospitality you don't forget. Amazing food, exceptional service, and hospitality that goes far beyond the plate. This is a place I'll absolutely be recommending to everyone going forward, and one I'm already looking forward to returning to. read more
Wow, everything was so good. We did family style and it was the perfect amount of food. Shout out to our waiter, Jeff for the recommendations and great service. We enjoyed every dish. On to the food.. Blood orange mojito: was so good. I did it with tequila and it was refreshing! Empanadas: so crispy and paired perfectly with the sauce. We ordered two of them 5/5 Plantains& ceviche: omg the chips are so good. We had another order. The ceviche tasted fresh. 5/5 Lamb chops: I'm not big on lamb, but this was amazing! Cooked perfectly with the sauce 5/5 Scallops with mash potatoes: prob one of the best mashed potatoes I've had in a while ( if that is it). Never thought scallops paired with it, but so good! 5/5 Cubano: the meat was tender and I loved making tacos with the pickled veggies 5/5 Paella: it wasn't my favorite, but filling. 3/5 Overall good food and wonderful service! The ambiance is cute and delightful. The service was nice and accommodating. I've been her before and it's always been a good time ! The fried plantains with avocado dip were DELICIOUS!! We order I think 3 of them hahaha and the meals we ordered everyone enjoyed !! I have one less Star because the fried churros that we were all looking forward to and is why I voted for this place was not so good. It tasted very oily and it was hard. I know there's a crunch to churros but this was like over done and it turned hard but other than that we all had a good time !! read more

This is a gem of a restaurant in Walnut Creek downtown! Excellent service, wonderful mojitos and scrumptious food. We had the chicken wings, yucca fries and shared a paella. Every thing was delicious and plentiful! Will be going to Havana soon! read more

I've been to Havana many times before, but this particular visit happened after a long gap so I was keen to know what had changed, if anything at all. The interior was familiar with the bar in the back and the middle island seating available. But everything was clean and lively. The menu appeared to be a mix of old and new items which was appreciated. New tapas, entrees, and drinks allow for a wide selection that'll fit any party size or appetite level. Our server was very upbeat and friendly which was great, granted the restaurant was starting to pick up steam (we arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday). We ordered the Chimichurri Skirt Steak and the Paella. Both flavorful and delivered in a timely manner. The real MVP though has always been the mojitos and this continues to be the case. So good! Also, quick shout out to the Chef Emilio who came out to ensure everything was going well! A+ to you sir. read more

Food: Ropq Vieja - 4/5 - A decent dish and usually a go to for me at any Cuban restaurant. Taste was standard fare. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - A nice setting with a decent amount of seating. Portion to Price: 3/5 - Standard portion size. read more
Finally checked out Havana downtown and they are legit. The food here is solid. We got the lamb chops and it didn't disappoint. We also tried the Ropa Vieja empanadas and they were spot on. On top of the great food, the service was efficient and our plates were ready in no time. One thing I didn't enjoy was the chicano fried rice - somehow missed the fact it had pineapple in it. It was overly sweet and salty, not my jam. read more

Traveled to Walnut Creek last weekend to take in a holiday play (A Christmas Carol) at the Lesher Center. I wanted a restaurant with tasty food, and not too noisy and within walking distance of the theatre. Found Havana and make a reservation. We arrived a little early and were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. The vibe is classy and cozy. We reviewed the menu and had a hard choice between the many choices of Mojito. I chose the Cherry-Ginger Gin Mojito and my wife had the Blood Orange-Sage. Both were delicious! After reviewing the menu with our server Jeff, we chose to order off the Tapas menu, sharing several small dishes. We started with the Roja Vieja Empanadas with a Chipotle Aioli, the Grilled Shrimp with Sofrito Rice, and the Day Scallops with Truffle-Cumin Crema. My favorite was the Shrimps and my wife loved the Day Scallops - but honestly everything was flavorful. We ordered a second round of Mojito my wife staying with her original Mojito while I switched to the Pear-Clove, wanting to try a different flavor. This blend of 5 liquid ingredients and fresh muddled mint was also delicious. We capped off the dinner with a shared Caramel Rum Flan which was divine. We learned from Jeff they often have live music on Thursdays and have Mojito specials several days. We will definitely return to Havana - the only challenge is which Mojito to order on our next visit! read more

I have dined at this restaurant once before for an R&B brunch. Just like last time, the food and the service were awesome. The restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. The only reason why I gave this visit a 4 compared to the 5 I gave last time was because I really enjoyed this restaurant when there was a live DJ. While there was great music playing through the speakers, the live DJ gave this restaurant an elevated vibe. read more
Had dinner with my wife and daughter here on a Saturday night. Really nice food with good music. There was a lot of high table seating, which we usually try to avoid but there wasn't an option to choose a regular table during my reservation. Loved the food, the scallops had a great sear. The potatoes had a sweet taste which was nice. The kids chicken was ok, I enjoyed the corn that she had (though my daughter didn't like it). Lamb was really good, not gamey at all. Chimichurri steak medium well was cooked perfectly. Fried rice was nice but there wasn't a lot of oil at the bottom. Paella was good as well but just not as crispy as trleferic or va de vi. Havana has a very cool vibe and ambiance inside. The food was delicious, portions are generous and prices are competitive for the area. As a heads up, 20% tip was included in the bill for having a large group. I came for brunch with a group of 6 on a rainy Sunday morning. We had a reservation so we were seated right away but there was plenty of seating available I think due to the weather and not a ton of people out and about. Havana provided us with an excellent experience. As soon as you walk in, the ambiance and decor is super cute and fun! They have indoor seating and a bar. The cocktail menu is amazing, with many flavors of mojitos and craft cocktails! The food was delicious. We went for brunch and I am looking forward to going back for dinner. Came in late yesterday and treated wonderfully by Carly who made sure we were taken care of throughout our dinner. The mojitos were refreshing and had interesting flavor combos. The rioja beef empanadas had a rich buttery crust and savory filling. We then dove into the paella that was filled with plenty of chicken and seafood, with al dente rice and saffron flavored. NO this place IS NOT dog friendly unless it's a service dog! Booked this place 3 days ago and mentioned we wanted to bring a dog. They should mention this before the day of the reservation (3 hours before)
