Cool bar hiding in plain sight on Pringle. From the sidewalk you would swear they were closed, and then the door opens and you are somewhere else entirely. Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. Great little lounge. I will deff be back it's small but the drink I had was very good. It felt busy when we went but it's a smaller place and it's behind Bart. I will deff be back to try other drinks I like the laid back feeling. Music was good not too loud I felt like it was enjoyable. There's not a ton of sitting but we were able to find a spot with another couple. Glad I found this place will deff be back. read more

A little more than a year in, I wanted to do a short update of my review. The honey and I now consider Luna Sea one of the best, if not the best spot to get a cocktail in Walnut Creek. Quite an interesting experience here last night. The lounge is stunning. Beautiful. Classy. Very well built and the details were there. However, the patrons did not exactly have the class to match. When I go to a lounge I'm more expecting date night, softer music, relaxed vibe. Nope - not last night. The sweet bartender was using every last breath shouting across the lounge for people to get their drinks from the bar. Guests, grown adults, acting like the children you see at Calicraft that we all try to get away from. People stumbling and screaming. It was extremely loud and felt more like a rowdy bar. I really hope this was a one off night for this kind of crowd because it would be nice to have a beautiful, lowkey, quieeet, lounge as there are not many in the direct area. This lounge is such a vibe! The bartenders are friendly, the cocktail menu is well crafted, and the drinks are always delicious! It's also right across from the main three office buildings on California and the only elevated bar in the immediate area, so it's a big hit for those looking to grab a drink after work. My only gripe is that it's very small and always pretty packed. Seating is often limited or completely unavailable so be prepared to stand, but the bartenders do a great job churning out drinks quickly to accommodate the crowd. Was in Walnut Creek for the weekend and was looking for a chill place to grab a cocktail. Luna Sea Lounge did not disappoint! Kind of in the business district, for lack of a better word, you would never know it is here. Walking in, I immediately liked the music. There was a DJ playing cool electronica vibes. Really cute spot in an unexpected location! Small intimate lounge with vibey lighting and decor- the DJ in a Saturday night was a welcome addition. They feature their own vodka here, and many of the signature cocktails obviously are vodka drinks but they have a selection of everything. Located next to the Waymark in Walnut Creek and not right downtown (kind of behind the bart station) is this cute quaint bar. Dim lighting and good playlist with soft R&B so you can still have a conversation. Most patrons seemed to be couples or on dates- kinda romantic!! Later a house/techno DJ did play and it got a bit too loud for to still converse. It is a very small and narrow space so seating is limited. The blue velvet chairs are classy (but alittle flimsy- one of ours was broken) and the dark ambiance totally gives it a speakeasy vibe. The decor is dark and mysterious like the sea and they give you a backdrop to the artwork in the menu description so read it! There is a discount for law enforcement and health professionals which is good bc the drinks are $16-18 so it's a bit pricey. We didn't order food but saw they offered small bar bites. A tiny little bar tucked into a random corner of Walnut Creek. There's not much parking and all of it is paid. The inside of the bar is pretty nice and simple. The menu isn't too extensive, but there's some decent drinks. Seems like they're focused on vodka centric drinks - they have their own Luna Sea Vodka. My favorite thing about this bar is that you can use a free app to upload a picture that can get printed onto certain drinks. Can definitely have some fun with that!! read more

For me, I enjoy more finger foods for my happy hour and we left to go somewhere else for more food and drinks. We did enjoy the drinks and the chips/hummus. The Confidential - very good. Very cute place. My husband and I decided to add this lounge to our bar hopping adventure last night and we were not disappointed. The inside theme has an underwater speakeasy feel. All drinks are available to order at the bar and it's open seating. They have a variety of drinks on the menu to choose from and certain special ones with foam have the ability for patrons to print any photo of their liking to it. I really wanted to try that but the drink I wanted didn't have any foam. The bar was decorated Halloween style and it was fitting for the season. The music playing ranged from hip hop, alternative, and some EDM. It wasn't packed for a Saturday night which was surprising but good for us cause we didn't have to wait. Also, I would like to point out for the record that NOWHERE on the menu, website, physical building, or a mention from the bartender to say there's going to be a charge for the soda. Yes, they pour fever tree as a default, but a four pack of fever tree will run you about $6.50 (or less) at your local grocery store. Yet you've got the audacity to blindly charge your customers $5.00 for half a bottle? Not only do you not keep to keep the bottle, goes back into the fridge after they make your drink, but you've got no idea you're even being charged for it until the bill comes. I get that businesses, especially new(er) ones, need to make money, but at what cost? This is an absolute joke of a business practice, and I sincerely hope all of you out there take this review to heart before deciding to be swindled at Luna. This hidden lounge in downtown Walnut Creek was a great spot to catch up with friends over some really well made drinks (especially these super cute espresso martinis with customizable foam designs)! There isn't much seating inside though, so a crowd can form pretty quickly. Nice lounge in Walnut Creek, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. My partner and I stopped in for a drink. We both had the Serial Cabernet Sauvignon, which was smooth and very drinkable. Their food selections are very limited at this time. We opted for the hummus, and it was actually surprisingly good, not the cheapo kind you find at the grocery store, but good quality hummus, and the pita chips were tasty as well. I do hope they will expand their food menu in the future, and offer charcuterie boards and other light bites to complement their wine and cocktail selections. The bartender was very nice and hospitable. The lounge is pretty and inviting, and has a sea theme, with orcas on the walls, very cool. My friends and I have been wanting to visit this bar for awhile because we were intrigued by the sea theme. It's a little further from broadway plaza and it gave speakeasy vibes. Walking in, it looked smaller than expected but I liked the cozy lounge vibes. All the bartenders were amazing! Luna Sea Lounge is a new speakeasy in Walnut Creek. I read a news article about its opening the other day and I visited with my friend last night. It's located at the Waymark Apartment building, next to the Walnut Creek Bart Station. It has a nautical theme and a beautiful whale mural on the wall. My friend and I snagged a couple of seats at the bar and we both ordered the "Take a Bite" drink, which has Rum, Ube, Coconut, and Curacao. It was pretty good, my friend thought it was a bit sour, but the bartender was nice enough to give us a bit of agave to sweeten it. It would be cool if this bar were located Downtown near Main Street, I feel like it would be easier to frequent or stop in during a night out. read more

What a gem for cocktails! Heard of a "speakeasy" in Walnut Creek so my fiancé and I decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday around 6pm and it was easy to get seated. We stopped by Luna Sea Lounge on October 12th for my friend's birthday, expecting to finish the night with some drinks and photos. Except, surprise--it was closed for a private event. Not exactly the vibe we were hoping for. My friend (the one who has no problem speaking up) called them, and after a brief negotiation, they let us come in on one condition: we had to be out when the event guests showed up. Fair enough. When we got there, the staff was super nice and honestly more apologetic than they needed to be. We ordered drinks--I went with something I can't even remember, but they let me put a picture of my dog on it, so that was a win. Nothing like sipping on a cocktail with your Shih Tzu's face staring back at you. We had the place to ourselves for about 20 minutes before the event crowd trickled in, and we had to down our drinks and head out. Not exactly a long stay, but we appreciated the hospitality. All in all, the staff made the best out of a weird situation, and we left happy...even if we spent more time taking photos outside the building by the loading zone sign than actually enjoying the lounge.
