i've seen this place for a while and was curious about it, i'm glad i came and gave it a try. this is a great place for large groups of beer drinking friends. i had the cheeseburger and it's every i loved in a burger. a generous amount of cheese, grilled onions, and a good tasty patty. if you want a safe choice i would suggest the cheeseburger burger. my dad got the mushroom sandwich and described it as excellent. even the fries were great, i do wish the basket was larger. a large shareable basket would be nice. if you like super sweet get the caramel brownie cheesecake, if you don't definitely leave it alone. the service was okay, efficient and nice. i read more

The place was packed at 4pm on a weekday. Kid friendly: 4/5. It is a brewery... so I wasn't expecting it to be so kid friendly, but it really caters to parents wanting to go out with their kids. Solid place for an after work drink and small bites. I joined colleagues this evening on their outdoor patio. Most of them were well into their second and third drinks, but I needed to stick to one as I was driving home. So I chose carefully, and settled on their Irish Stout, which was just the right amount of bitter, and creamy and smooth, though not as good as my favorite - Guinness. Great place for a beer, cocktail, or even smash burger! Their smash burgers are pretty good, bun is super soft and yummy! One burger was suppose to be a double and came out as a single but staff was super friendly and fixed it right away and apologetic! Their steak sandwich is delish! It's a five stars from me! My husband and I met our friend and boyfriend for her birthday here. It was our first time and we seriously had the best time. Our chicken and steak sandwich were delicious and so were the drinks. I loved my beer but I also love that they had N/A available too and other cocktails to choose from. Their backyard patio was great and we thankfully found a table right away. It does get packed pretty quick so I suggest getting there earlier than you think. Parking garage right next door. We had been wanting to come here for months, but avoided going becuase we thought it was located in Downtown Walnut Creek (Downtown is a disaster on weekends and parking is a joke). It's NOT located Downtown and there is a parking garage located directly behind the brewery (you have to download an app and enter your personal info, which I really dont like doing) BUT the brewery validates your first hour). Got to the brewery about 20 mins after they opened on a Saturday and to our surprise it was almost empty. This is the best outdoor brewery setup I have seen in the Eastbay. Phenomenal 2 level patio with gigantic fire pits and as dog friendly as you will ever see. Huge screen tv showing football and numerous smaller tvs everywhere. Beer was good (beer menu pretty small), they have sparking wine / champagne and other alcohol drinks. Got the chicken sandwich, fries, and carnitas tacos. Food was surprisingly not overpriced, which is awesome. Loved this place and definitely will come back. Sidenote, while it was empty when we showed up around 1150-noon, they were probably 80% capacity at around 130, so this place gets packed quick. read more

I've been to the Lafayette and Walnut Creek locations a few times now and I'm surprised I haven't done a review here yet. I love that it has such a massive outdoor space and they bring in life music, the food is great, and so is the beer. I almost always have my dog with me and I love even more so that this is a pet friendly establishment! My boyfriend and I do not have kids and don't always care to sit in the main dining area because it is also very kid friendly. I appreciate that this business creates a 2+ zone for us to have our space away from the chaos that kids can bring. That being said, if you have children, this is also a great place for you to bring your kids! I took a big sip when I received my drink and it tasted bitter, I let my husband try it and he agreed that it was bitter. The waiter ended up telling us he somehow accidentally gave us an espresso martini instead! I was distraught. I have not had a sip of alcohol in almost a year at this point. I am very visibly pregnant, how could this have happened? They claim to be super family friendly here, but what if a child ordered that frozen hot chocolate and got an espresso martini instead? Since all seating is outside I was worried that I'd be cold on a December night (California cold, but still, it's not warm) -- but they have plenty of heaters and even blankets! Parking with a QR code sets the evening off on a 'we'd rather you do the work for us' vibe. QR code ordering: acceptable because I could order anytime, but also says, 'you do the work for us'. First round of beer: dropped off our beers, no greeting, placed the beer at the edge of the table and literally tossed a dirty coaster on the table (like 8 inches away from my beer). He did this for both of us. Again, it felt like they'd rather us do the work. Second round of beer, dropped off the beer. Just a 'what did you order?' And then interrupted us and asked me to lift up my beer he just dropped off so he could removed the order ticket that was stuck to it. Third round, was a whatever. Just a drop off. I've loved going to Headlands in Lafayette since moving to East Bay a few years ago. Not only do they have a nice outdoor space with a good selection of beers, but they are also really baby/kid friendly and dog friendly. Fast forward, they opened their Walnut Creek location - which is even closer to us! We were so excited. They lived up to our expectations and more. We love their food selection and ease of ordering via individual tabs (despite being with a large group). On top of that, Adam, the manager has been nothing but kind, helpful, and responsive whenever we needed to organize a large group reservation. Glad I read the reviews before we visited! Parking is usually an issue for me. Parking at Pleasant Hill BART Station is free after 3:00pm. This worked out great for our Friday evening visit. The one block walk is a little dark and there isn't much else along the path, so be cautious if choosing to park here alone. The atmosphere was lively as soon as we entered. Not too loud. A host seated us at a shared picnic table which worked out great. Ordering off the QR code on the table also always nice. We were each able to order separately on our own tabs. Menu has a lot of variety for a brewery. My friend ordered a cocktail and I had a cider which we both enjoyed. There are also a number of food options. My friends really enjoyed their smash burgers. I was afraid of the parking situation, but it turns out there's a parking garage close by. After 3:00, you can also park for free at Bart, just one block away. I checked with the friendly bartender, and she explained that you can get validation for 90 minutes from the nearby parking garage. You order at the front counter, which shows a wide selection of beers of all varieties. Today, I elected a Czech style pilsner for $8. Not too heavy, and just right for a cool winter afternoon. If you want, you can order at your table. Lots of friendly servers to assist. The children have a play area on the lower level, and there is an adults only area on a slightly elevated area. It's easy to see why this location is so popular. Lots of friendly people, friendly dogs, and great beer. They were very smart to include lots of fire pits. Perfect for a cool winter day. It is all out door seating, but they do have a covered patio and some TVs to watch games, etc. They offer a variety of different beers and also some cocktails and non alcoholic options! They also offer tons of different types of food, and there's something for anyone. This is a first come first serve seating situation, we came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We hung out and waited for some people to leave for about 30 minutes before we got a table. The parking situation is also a little tricky.
