One of the coolest live music venues in the Bay Area! Came by with friends on the weekend and completely obsessed with the music, atmosphere and incredible staff. The food was delicious!

Nice place to go on a night out. Staff is nice and service is quick. Live music on some nights you can't miss it! The fries were good definitely check them out.

Remember this place back in the day when it was Crograns! So decided to stop by today to grab a Fieldworks Hazy! We sat on the patio though it was really cool inside and enjoyed the gorgeous day outside! Service was fast and friendly and the beer was great! A cool way to revisit an old hangout!

Both the kids were out at birthday parties at their friends' places, so I had part of the afternoon free one weekend, and spent part of it at Gibson's Irish Pub. Had a late lunch, so the place was mostly empty. The space is gorgeous - some screens, a lot of decor, fancy bar area, and plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. I had their Purple Heather to start, a nice and pretty gin based drink. They didn't skimp on the gin here, yay! I tried their Irish Boxty, an appetizer of stuffed potato, and it came out different than what I had imagined. It was more of potato croquette balls, which was pretty good, but I expected more flavors based on the description. For entrees, I tried their coastal mussels and their Irish stew. Both were made pretty great. The coastal mussels had a nice rich creamy bisque-like feeling to it and the flavors were really good. There is a slight kick to it which made it even better for me as I love some spice. They do put chorizo in this dish though, which may not be appealing to some people, but the flavors were great. It also came with a couple slices of toast, used to scoop up the extra thick broths. The Irish stew was a nice mix of potatoes, carrots, meat, etc. The potatoes really was great to really get all the stuff together into a bite. I'd definitely come back here to try more of their menu and more drinks, though it'd be another pricy time here at Gibson's!

Piano room booth/table with reservation for 8

We had a great time celebrating my bday with a group of 8 on a Saturday night. We made a reservation in advance on Open Table to have a table reserved in the piano room. Highly recommend this, and the minimum $250 charge for food and drinks was super easy to meet. (Click on the Experiences tab to get the piano room reservation). We more than doubled that amount. Our table/booth was super close to the pianos and they called out all the birthday folks. The pianos are supposed to start at 9pm but I think it actually started at 9:15. We had a great time and basically closed the place down. Our server was very busy but did a nice job paying attention to our group. The owner came by a couple of times too. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Growing up in Walnut Creek, I WISH this place had been here when I lived here! Awesome atmosphere, they had a great vibe walking in with some irish music playing (followed by some classic rock, they mix it up) matching the ambiance of an Irish Pub. As I walked, Xiao greeted and welcomed warmly and Derrick, the bartender was incredible (as well as a local)! As I sat down, he informed me immediately that it was happy hour as he proceeded to recommended some great beers to try! I settled with the East Brothers Pilsner and it was delicious. Derricks demeanor was profession, kind, informative and humourous. The kind of experience i was looking for. This is my second visit here and my first i enjoyed their Guinness Irish Stew. Both experiences incredible. Thanks you Derrick for the excellent service and recommendations i look forward to.coming back. Furthermore it was great to see it transform from the old problematic bar, Crogans, to such a great establishment. Also! Be sure to stop by Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays for their Dueling Pianos night! The vibe is not one to miss! See you there! -Chris

We visited on Memorial Day for lunch. It was oddly quiet, and we were only the second table with customers. The decor resembled an Irish pub. I say resembled as it felt like the decor was ordered from restaurant catalog. It was clean, nice, and new, but not authentic. The bar might have been the original all bar from the original place. If that's the case they should talk about it. It is owned by a restaurant group that creates different concepts. It shows. They need to hire people who have depth in Irish pubs. The beer selection was limited and had a very weak set of Irish, or for that matter British, beers. I don't understand this at all. The Irish whisky selection was also limited. They had Redbreast 12 (good) but no Yellow or Green Spot. And I don't think there was a range of Jameson one would expect to see. Perhaps the closed-off bar area had a broader selection. Food was a mix of Irish (bangers and mash) and American (smash burger). Food was okay, but very expensive for the quality and quantity. It's in a great location. I'm confident they will work out the kinks. For now, three stars. We will definitely try it again, though, as it should be very successful.

Was going barhopping on a Friday night around 9 o'clock for a birthday, this was my favorite bar out of the strip. They didn't seem to have much of a dancing scene or dance floor, but they did have really fun, live music and a big screen that live streamed it in a separate room. This allowed people in the room with the bar to still be able to enjoy the live music from afar, without needing a seat or standing and staring in the room. The bartenders were super attentive and I never waited too long when asking for water or drink. We were sat down at a large seating table, and they checked in with us if we wanted food, drinks, and let us know when it was last call for food. The energy in the bar is great and it seemed super positive, seem to have a good balance of people in their mid 20s to mid 30s. Great service, great vibes and really big venue!

From service to flavor everything ran flat. It took 10 minutes to get our first drink and the second round was completely forgotten about. After waiting patiently for 13 minutes, I went up to the bar to confirm the order but learned the bartender did not recieve it. The bartender was helpful and made the drink quickly on the fly, much appreciated! We ordered 2 appetizers. The first was the Irish potato and cheese boxty with horseradish dip. The second was the ribs. Both dishes suffered from lack of seasoning. Once salt was added to the plates, it was much improved. The ribs were also dry and again, had no seasoning. The sauce needed salt as well to bring out the flavor. From bland food to poor service, this newbe has a lot to work on.

Such a cute place that I've been wanting to try. The host asked us if we had a preference and I chose the high top. I honestly thought it would just be drinks and "bar food" but it is basically a whole restaurant. The choices looked great and would love to come another time to actually eat. We sat for a pretty long time and this worker came up to us, shocked that we have not been helped. It wasn't busy so we were also a bit confused but maybe the hosts didn't notify the servers. After, it was smooth sailing. The truffle fries were crispy with a ton of cheese. Honestly, a pretty big portion for an app! I loved the drinks, it was super refreshing and I loved how spacious the place was. The server, after, constantly checked in on us. If you are looking for a place with refreshing drinks and want to catch up with friends or even a date spot this is great! Would def come again.

Pan seared salmon, capers, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts - 12/10
    Richard J.

Yoooo... Okay I love this place. I'm planning visiting friends in walnut creek to come back here. They do dueling pianos every night, the food menu seems basic but I'm telling you - each dish rocks. The pan seared salmon was so incredible. You know when someone gets the crust right and the fish is still falling apart? Get this. Great vibes! Loud spot, turns into full bar after a certain time. I never went to the previous spot that was in this building, I know it was a notorious local favorite - but this is a great replacement.

Ask the Community - Gibson's Irish Pub

How does one make reservation for the piano area for a Saturday night? I can't seem to make one and I've tried all the way to June?

Go to web page for piano bar reservations. Need to go out a few weeks to see availability. I just looked on May and there is availability.

I served as a shoulder to cry on from other regulars, or just someone to listen to when unloading their daily life struggles. I gave big tips when I could afford them to the bartenders that always would see me and pour a drink for me without asking even on a packed weekend night. I met new friends, said goodbye to old friends, and got to know a handful of bartenders that trusted me enough to open up about their personal lives. During Covid, I did my best to support as much as I could have. When it was closing time, I never lingered. When it was someone's birthday; I always sang. The number of patron's I was able to make laugh was many. The number of younger 20 something's I chatted with and asked questions about their life goals and future plans, while offering some perspective to help out was plentiful. The number of older folks that were lonely, or couples that were bored, I tried my best in engaging conversation and listening and conversations with them were countless. However, when an off cuff comment on a quiet Wednesday night, where there were 8 total patrons in the bar, and myself and a buddy were sitting and waiting for a drink after 15 minutes while the bartender chatted with the other five patrons came to ask if we needed anything, and I jokingly commented that, yes, we've been waiting for only 10 minutes, I was told I am not allowed at Dan's when this lady is working anymore, it was a slap in the face. I can no longer support a place that could care less about allowing a newer bartender with massive insecurities to dictate when I can spend money at their establishment. It was a good run, and I appreciate Mike, Chris, Deion, Jose, Derrick, Andrew, Ashley and Lana, along with all of the great people I met there and took great care of me, but it's time to move on and spend my money, time and energy somewhere that allows an insecure employee to dictate when I can patron their business. Adios.

A dog friendly place, McNally's is the perfect place to bring your furry best friends (and human ones). It is a mix of regular barflies and the occasional newbies. One time, an anti-dog lady came in with her date, ordered table martini service, took over our fireplace table, and no one was impressed. We started to come here more once they built the parklet during the pandemic. They also promoted their cocktails at this time. We would sit outside with dogs and friends and came to love the casual lowkey location. There is a large room in the back that we made the mistake of sitting in once. Great if you have a group, but cold and dorm community room feel vs the comfortable bar feel of the front area. There is also a backyard nook along the side of the building for smokers or those that want to watch dvds. They have darts, which i was surprised to see someone actually play once, a small pool table with a special name that escapes me, and a jukebox that you can pay for songs. We usually patronize in the earlier hours and Alfred is our bartender. He knows peoples' orders before they order it and lets us tend the fireplace on cold days. He has treats and water for the dogs. You can pay cash or credit card here which adds to the appeal over two other bars in the area that are cash only. There is one female and one male restroom on the back wall. The female one is always clean but the swinging door sticks. Don't make the mistake of waiting as you probably just have to push it in harder. We prefer the fireplace table if it's a cold day out (otherwise the corner booth in the parklet) as it's easy to park the dogs there, eat the burrito you brought in, absorb the fire rays, watch the games, and conversate with your friends in a circle. We usually have more friends than fit the table but we spread out around the nucleus. The corner table is also great if they have the overhead lamp turned off. Otherwise it's harsh in your eyeballs. There are several televisions so you can get a good view of whatever sports is on wherever you are sitting. Lots of stools and just a few regular chairs. They do have special events from time to time and you have to look out for flyers on their door or the occasional social media post. I am counting down the days to saint Patrick's day, which they do also on their countdown sign over the bar. Neighborhood parking is free or street parking is free after 6pm, all day Sunday and holidays. You can also park at the library around the corner, it's considered street parking. There are several eateries to take out food and bring in to McNally's. There's a trash can near the door or the main bins are on the side of the building. If you forgot a utensil, ask at the bar, they may have it for you. Food wise they only offer potato chips for purchase.
