Two stars for nostalgia and a nice female bartender. Other than that, ohhhhh my. My friends and I used to come to Farrington's all the time--it was on our regular rotation of karaoke bars. I moved away eleven years ago, and now I'm back in the area. Farrington's went from a lovable dive to a suuuuper ghetto establishment that made me feel like I should have an eye on my purse and the closest exit at all times. Clientele is VERRRRRRY rough around the edges. Frankly, I was a little scared, and that's not something I often feel in Pleasant Hill. It's super sad to see a bar that was once so dear to me turned into a place that feels like it is actively breeding crime. There are many other better bars nearby (except Magoo's. Came here to watch the game, and OMG. It smelled so bad. How, do you wonder? It smelled like a boys locker room. Not that I have ever been in a boys locker room, but I have 3 boys and they always used to smell like body sweat and stinky feet. I thought maybe they were using some sort of cleaner, so we left and went to a place down the street. We came back a few hours later, and the smell was still there, so I don't know what it is. Terrible customer service. The bartender working yesterday March 24 2022 around 1pm served me well instead of the Stoli I ordered. When I asked why she poured from the well instead of what I ordered she claimed they didn't have it and only had flavored Stoli and that she had substituted another vodka, Tito's. I watched her pour my drink and it was obviously well brand not Tito's. I could clearly see the bottle of Stoli on the top shelf next to two bottles of flavored Stoli. She had actually pushed the bottle of regular Stoli back a bit (possibly trying to hide it?) on her way to pour from the well. I was with two other customers who got what they ordered without incident, not sure why I received such terrible service but I definitely won't be back. She did remake my drink when I insisted. I only came here because a couple of friends were in town for the holidays and this was the only place we knew of that was a hole-in-the-wall place to get a beer and a couple drinks. The bartender was really friendly, whether if it was getting my drinks or handing me darts for their dartboards, but I really don't like this place. On any normal day, I'm only in the area to go to Safeway or because the bank I use has a branch/ATM in the same strip mall as Farrington's. I strongly dislike the patrons here, because they love to shout racial slurs at me or challenge me to fights while drunk. read more

Cool Pub to grab a drink at. most of the guests are out of towners or are here on business. Bar staff and Security are all very pleasant and offer great suggestions and service. I frequent the space and now know everyone on a first name basis. they offer 20 beers on tap and a great classic cocktail selection. The few people I had contact with were pleasant. Busy night so not much time for chit chat. Could use a better air system to be able to have a cross draft or some sort of breeze to cool the very stagnant air that happens when a small space is crowded. Farrington's is a chill little local dive bar. We came here for a few late night drinks and it was a nice hangout. It's very small, but there are still plenty of places to sit. My boyfriend loves to play pool and so this past Saturday he stopped by and in one night was accused of not paying for his beer, while his card was being held for his tab, and second, as he left, overheard a female speaking with the Security to check and see if he had gotten the Nazi out. I usually party it up in Oaktown, but when I decide to go out in the East Bay, Farrington's is one of my go to spots. Cheap and stiff drinks, a great DJ, Pool tables, Darts, AND karaoke? What more could you really ask for? The bartenders here rock! They are always hooking up my drinks with major alcohol! You can get away with paying $4-$7 for a nicely mixed well drink even on a Friday and Saturday night here! I love when they have Karaoke because the people who are drunk always end up singing and it's just so hilarious! This place is decently sized with a rounded bar, comfy booths, and tons of TV's for your sports viewing pleasure. They have the most comfortable sofa chairs located right in front of the pool tables. This place gets busy on the usual Thursday through Saturday nights, but it's never too busy to where you have to push through people. Just like their pros, there are also many cons about this place. The parking really sucks here! They share a parking lot with Safeway, Starbucks, and Nations, so you can imagine the amount of circling around that you have to do; especially on a Friday or Saturday night. The actual bar itself is always gross. I almost never sit at the bar itself because the counters are sticky and there are always wet napkins and trash on the counters. The bartenders are usually slammed, so they seldom clean it up and people just sit there and ignore it. I also find that the drunks like to squeeze their way in between the bar stools and rub all up against you, and I'm not for it at all. I usually grab my drink and sit in one of the booths or chairs. If you want to use your debit or credit card, be prepared to have a $40 hold on your account for a few days! Yes ma'am, $40 is right! I learned the hard way and thought that they accidentally charged someone else's drinks to my tab. They won't tell you this rule but it is posted up somewhere on the bar that's not really the most noticeable. I usually always bring cash in now. They have an ATM machine inside and there's a Chase bank located in the same plaza. They charge a $5 entry fee and sometimes hike it up to $10 when they have a reason to do so (like after a concert at the Concord Pavilion). Unfortunately, they don't serve any food or snacks here. The nice thing is that they let you bring food in from the outside. I usually go to Taqueria Los Gallos but the Milk Tea Lab and Nations are other options that are also open late. The restrooms here are atrocious but I can't really complain because it's kind of to be expected at a joint like this. Twice I've walked into the restrooms and found puke on the floor and in the toilet. If you can hold it or buy something small from Nations or Starbucks, I would wait to use their restrooms instead. There seems to be a lot of young people here who just don't know how to hold their liquor. This can turn into a sloppy drunk's palace sometimes. Aside from the cons, I think that Farrington's is pretty decent. If you're a local and don't want to truck it down to the town or city, Farrington's isn't too shabby to try. read more

This place sucks. Even before the murder of the poor bartender who worked there this place has had negative vibes and fights nearly every night going all the way back to 2009 and probably before. Its not a very safe place to hang around and seems to draw a crowd very angry potentially violent individuals. Its not a good place if you ask me. Also the times i went there the service was absolutely terrible with a bartender who would tell you that, "hay is for horses." Then ignore you if you said, "hey barkeep," or "hey man" to try and get his attention to order a drink. Also he would never bring your change and he would hope you forgot ask for it. Me and my boyfriend walked in one Friday night after dinner in walnut creek and have proudly become regulars! Lol... Josh and LINA have really made this place the GO TO SPOT. Drinks are always phenomenal, music is great, they have a machine you can pick what you'd like to listen to! They also have Shuffleboard, pool and darts, even alittle dance floor when the time is right! And snacks you can purchase, chips, corn nuts, popcorn, etc! If it's your first time at farringtons, order #mamaskoolaid you won't regret it! A message to management: Josh and Lina are what make Farringtons so fun and welcoming. Went in for an Irish coffee on a cold day. The bar didn't have hot coffee. It was lukewarm. The red haired bar tender seemed confused and offered to put the coffee in a microwave. I'm a regular here, and always usually enjoy my bartender but recently I had a rude encounter with a bartender there named Angie. She shouldn't be a bartender if she she doesn't enjoy her job. There was a miscommunication with my order on my drink and she stormed off, making the drink and slamming things. I never even told her she had to remake it, she just stormed off and started remaking my drink with the biggest attitude. It was actually kind of funny to me how mad she got. Came in on Super Bowl Sunday and was surprised that they had a ton of free food. They also had a really good selection of draft beers at good prices. Four pool tables, three darts boards, and more big screen TVs than I could count. Plus, they have a row of big comfortable theater style seats overlooking the pool tables. So we got plates full of free wings, sandwiches, nachos and cookies, sat in the big seats and watched the game. Why stay home for the big game! This place is not safe for women. The bar has a regular crowd that likes to grab at women, and make them extremely uncomfortable. The bar service is great, and the staff is friendly. But the crowd that hangs here makes it unsafe for women. We had 2 separate incidents in one night. Both led to the men squaring up to our friends when they tried to defend us. Unfortunately we were trying to celebrate a birthday and it was heavily impacted by the crowd. Would not recommend. read more

Last night, the owners walked in around 11:30pm and decided to yell at the DJ. The elderly lady yelled "No F*CKING HIP HOP! TURN IT OFF!" She yelled this multiple times and pointed her finger in the DJ's face. Clearly and intentionally demeaning him. He toned it down and played Beyoncé, but this wasn't enough she again complained, so he played salsa. After this, the lady came back over and gave him two very aggressive thumbs up in his face. The way in which the owner chose to relay her message is unacceptable, and appeared to me to be racist. As far back as I can remember they have played hip hop on Friday nights and I have never seen any issues occur. It's sad to say, but I won't be patronizing this place any longer after what I witnessed. Also, the sinks were clogged and full of dirty water. The bathroom floors were wet. It was truly disgusting.
