There was an issue last year where a regular of the bar was taking inappropriate pictures of my friends without their consent and being aggressive when confronted about his behavior. Security told him to leave but he has not been 86'd which tells me the owner cares more about $ than the comfort and safety of the other patrons of the bar, so I refuse to support this business.

I work right by this place and used to come in all the time with coworkers after work. We went there for probably 3 or 4 years and never had problems with the daytime bartenders before. We knew them, they knew us, everybody got along and it was just our regular spot. Then the daytime bartender changed and honestly so did the whole vibe. All of this happened a few months ago but one thing that really bothered me was how she treated my wife. My wife was trying to help clean up and stacked some shot glasses a little too high. When the bartender picked them up they broke. My wife immediately felt terrible and was apologizing. She's a preschool teacher, super sweet and about as non-confrontational as you can get. Instead of just telling her not to stack them that way the bartender yelled at her. She already felt horrible, it was obviously an accident and there was no reason to make her feel worse. Another time one of our coworkers accidentally walked outside with her drink. I get it, you can't take a drink outside. But instead of just saying hey you can't bring that out here, she came outside and snatched the drink out of her hand, barked at her and cut her off. Something that could've been handled with a normal conversation turned into a whole thing. And yeah, there were a few times people got way more upset than I had ever seen them get in there before. I'm not saying every reaction was okay, but I also knew these people and that was not their normal baseline at all. These were coworkers who had been coming in for years, getting along with everyone, no drama. Watching people get pushed to that level of frustration was honestly part of what made the whole situation stand out so much. That's the part I keep coming back to. Same group, same bar, years of no problems. Then the daytime bartender changed and suddenly there was tension all the time. I probably wouldn't have written anything since all of this happened months ago. But I recently found out a former coworker wrote about her own experience, her review got taken down and she had to edit it and repost it. That made me think maybe I should say something about what I personally saw too. I've always liked this bar. I just think when people who came in for years with no issues suddenly stop wanting to be there, that's probably worth paying attention to ‍

I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. During the security screening, our bags were searched and we were patted down, which we understand may be standard procedure. However, the security guard went far beyond what we considered appropriate by squeezing our breasts during the pat-down. We immediately objected and made it clear that we were uncomfortable and felt violated. The guard identified himself as "Natty Martinez" (although we are not sure whether that was his real name). After the incident, we watched other patrons entering the bar and did not observe anyone else being subjected to the same level of physical contact. That left us feeling as though we had been singled out and treated differently. No one should expect to be touched in such an invasive manner simply for entering a bar. Security screenings can be conducted professionally and respectfully. This experience was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely ruined our evening. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, reviews any available security footage, and ensures that all security staff are properly trained on appropriate search procedures and respectful treatment of customers.
