We recently celebrated my husband's birthday here. I was able to reserve two tables for two hours online, which made the whole process super easy. Just a heads up, they only allow reservations for adult birthday celebrations, not kids' parties. One of the things I love most about Barebottle Brewery is that it's very kid-friendly while still having an adults-only section on the other side for anyone looking for a quieter atmosphere. It's the best of both worlds. Another huge plus is that they serve Joyride Pizza, and their chicken wings are always a favorite. Good food, great drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere make this one of our go-to spots. If you have kids and can't always find a babysitter, this is such a great place to hang out without feeling out of place. We'll definitely be back! read more

Super cute spot I went to, to celebrate a few of my cousins birthday on a warm Saturday afternoon. Parking is a little tricky but I got lucky as someone was leaving as I pulled up. There was an event going on and HotBoyz Chicken was there giving out free samples throughout the day as well as doing a Bingo event for the attendees with free merch/prizes for the winners. No fee to play. That was a nice addition. They've got tvs for the game and the hockey game was playing, a nice outdoor area with a dj playing great music. They have a good menu with different options for food, beer, cider, etc. They don't really come up to the tables to do orders but the line is quick when you go up and order drinks/food. If you order food, they will give you a number and bring it to your table. Servers are nice/friendly and come to clean/pick up empty glasses often which isn't necessary but is nice. There's a water station to refill your bottles if you bring them. Wasn't able to stay long and order too much but the beers we had were delicious and refreshing. Great on a hot day like the one we had. Will for sure be coming back especially since Summer is coming up quick. Bring your family and friends to check them out. If you are a craft beer fan, Barebottle Brewing is a must try. With roughly 20-30 rotating taps, you're definitely going to find something you will enjoy. They have a lovely outside area. 3 stars because the indoor tables were a bit dirty (indoors and outdoors), and there was no one at the registers to order when we arrived. "Still Wildly Great--Now with Free WiFi and Pizza!" Naturally, I had revisit this taproom since I had such a good experience before. I was pleasantly surprised to see they have added Pizza and yes, free wifi. From looking at the photos, I thought this would be a small tap room. I was completely wrong. it has a large inside seated area, complete with many games and table. There is a large outside area with beautiful Olive trees. If you can believe it. Great beer and selections. There was also cans to go and some merch too. We ordered a personal supreme pizza to try. It was very salty and chicken very dry and a lot of bread! I know it was Detroit style but couldn't stomach it to finish it. There are lots of tables and seating. Some nice arcade games like street fighter which was quite fun. We tried to get a seat outdoors but it was so loud with kids running around. There were plastic toys scattered all over the floor that I almost stepped on one and fell. I'm surprised the parents aren't mindful of their kids and surroundings. Because it was so loud from the kids screaming we went back inside to find a quieter seat to finish our drinks. read more

Great Bay Area brewery, now with a Walnut Creek location! We came here to watch the Super Bowl and they had an awesome selection of beer (and some N/A drinks and wine) and the Joyride pizza, wings, and salads were all excellent. The indoor space was fun and comfy and there were lots of TVs to watch the game. The outdoor space has a bunch of tables as well and there's a little parking lot right out front. We had such a great time during the Super Bowl that we decided to rent out the indoor lounge area for our Baby Shower! The staff were super friendly and helpful during our event and all our guests had a great time and loved the beer and pizza. We brought our own dessert (after clearing it with the staff) and so that was a fun touch as well. read more

Love that they have a Walnut Creek location! They're one of my top 3 favorite breweries. So I might be a little biased. They do have their own parking lot, but it's small, there's limited street parking as well so hopefully you're ok with walking a bit. There's two sides you can enter from, right side is the "Main" side with the arcade, pool tables and access to the back patio, left side seems more chill and better for groups with less children. They just opened Nov 1st.... So some kinks in the kitchen and payment systems are bound to happen. I loved my flight, my all time favorite was the Hella Jalapeño!! I was able to bring my dog! But no water bowls currently available.... Maybe in the future. I'll def be going back, but probably try to hit it when there's less kids. read more

Love that this brewery came to Walnut Creek! I'm a big fan of their porters and stouts. Located near downtown WC, they have both outdoor (dog friendly) and indoor seating. Options include a wide range of beers, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and they even had 2 slushies (alc and non-alc) when I was there! A winner, but needs one tweak. A lot of breweries these days are serving mediocre beer and instead of investing in a great head-brewer, they spend their VC money on neo-industrial farmhouse ambience. Barebottle is the real deal. An actual craft brewery making excellent beer, that doesn't look like it's pretending to be the prep kitchen at Martha Stewart's Montana lodge. Beer snobs will not be disappointed, but there's also easy drinking lagers for those who just want great beer flavored beer. Menu is perfect pub food. You will love the thick crust pizza unless you hate joy. Lots of room, big community tables, enough TV's, and an adults-only space. Servers were friendly and helpful and actually could speak beer. Prices were not out of line. Big bonus that they do NOT use dehumanizing QR code ordering, something that should have disappeared when COVID stuff went the way of the Dodo. Some reviews are bemoaning the fact that there can be a bunch of gently-patented kids hurtling about the room with gleeful abandon. I experienced it as well. This is what breweries have to do now to survive. There's not enough dedicated beer geeks like in the early 2000's to sustain a pure brewery. If you want an excellent craft beer place that doesn't go belly up and become a pottery painting operation in six weeks, you just have to accept it. If you have little rug rats you can come reminisce over a great IPA about life before responsibility. Barebottle makes a good effort at trying to please those misanthropes that just want a beer in everloving peace, by having a seperate room for adults only. This deserves a Nobel Prize. But, the adult room does feel a little like an afterthought. Not like you are banished to a leper colony, but If they'd give that space a little more love, the place would be even better. read more

What a great place! We went on Tuesday to check out the Trivia and we were not disappointed. The parking lot is a little limited so be aware of that. We got there and ordered food. The selection is amazing and the taste was even better. We got a meat, pizza, Marcona, almonds, tater tots, and salad and olives we loved it all. I fell in love with the spindrift grapefruit flavor, soda, which I've never had before. The service was really great and the ambience was fun. Trivia was great and the person doing the Trivia said it was his second time, but he did amazing. There were some glitches with the sound and the TVs but that's OK. I would highly recommend going there even without Trivia. It was fun. The only downside is that you're sitting on Park benches and if you're old like me, you better bring a cushion because by the end of the night I was in pain, but that's on me. read more

I was running errands around Downtown Walnut Creek, and wanted to stop by for a quick Sud. I remember back in the days it used to be Blondies Pizza. I had recently seen it had opened last week. I had tried out a Collab beer with Del Cielo Pilsner and I got a Blondie brownie bar. It seemed like a cool Vibe with a Pool table and a few tables and lounge chairs and couches. I had checked out the menu and it seemed they had Pizzas Detroit style square, Salads , and Wings to name a few things. It also looked like they had Cheesecakes and a few other sweets. The service is terrible. The only good thing is this place has a few gluten free, vegan options. However, just like the other reviewers said, they only treat their regulars well. As first timers, we did not feel welcome at all. Definitely will not be back. I hope the owner addresses the staff's attitudes and provide them with customer service training. Service was slow, but they are new, so I'll give them a 'growing pains' pass for that. There are 3 reasons why I won't go back. We used to call places like this "Yuppie magnet". It's just the latest place to be seen. The food? Pretty good actually, but W-A-Y expen$ive for the quantity you get. Next, the beer. Selection is all over the place, no direction. Their own beer is OK (only 'ok'). Not worth the price per pint. And the "it's higher alcohol" excuse for charging pint prices for 8-10oz pours is ridiculous. An 8% beer is just a double. Just an attempt to over charge. But I guess they're counting on Lafayetters not caring about the price. We walked out of there for $75 (2 beers and 2 small plates). My rip-off detector was screaming! The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially if you're unsure what beer to get they'll let you try a few samples and help you decide. Sam and Nic were awesome and gave great customer service, whether you're new or coming back. The whole team does a great job. I REALLY wanted to love this place. Especially being in the old Pinky's building. I'm hoping these are just growing pains. I understand wanting to cater to families but good Lord the amount of ear piercing screaming children on Sat afternoon was truly unbearable. I'm not talking babies, I mean children who were running around like Lord of the Flies. We had the table near the arcade so I understand a certain amount of noise but there is a difference between laughing and literally screaming. We were about to leave after one beer when a table opened up near the register. It was slightly better and we could slightly have a conversation but it was still tough. Wanting to give it an honest try we stayed. We ordered the $26 6 piece pizza that was "ok". Nice and crispy on the edges but luke-warm in the middle. The $22 "jumbo" wings were anything but jumbo and not hot either. The wings were good but they were for sure standard sized and a bit pricey for a dozen standard sized wings with no accoutrements such as celery and carrots, there was ranch and buffalo sauce tho. The staff was quite curt. The 1st interaction there was a clear jar with small bowls next to it filled with almonds. I went to get some and as I was dipping the bowl in the cashier yelled "THOSE COST MONEY". I was like "ok? how much?" she replied "$7." I added them to my bill and I will say they were some tasty almonds. So delicious!!! But would it kill them to put a sticker on the jars with $7 on it to identity to the customers they are not complementary????? The next interaction was when picking up my pizza. The gentleman was a bit rude when I was checking to see if it was ready since I ordered before my brother and his came out before mine. The last issue really is don't start a tab. Just pay as you go. If you start a tab you have to wait in a long line of customers just to settle your bill. Also you could easily leave and forget to grab your credit card. I would like to end this with the beer was really good and the prices reasonable. The selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks were impressive. The canned diet soda was ice cold which I loved and appreciated. The space is clean and would have a fun vibe if it didn't feel like a Chucky Cheese. Please find a balance and don't be afraid to tell parents if their children cannot behave they will have to leave. Breweries are for adults who would like to have a drink and socialize with their friends & loved ones. If families cannot respect that they should go to more child appropriate venues that also serve adult beverages. Trust me, they exist. I raised two (non-public screaming) kids. read more

Looked forward to Barebottle...The beer was great. Can not say the same about the Taproom. It is divided into two parts-adults only & a family section. Did not sit in family section. The adult section was bland and looked temporary, the tables are barely wide enough for the pizza ( which is in a square 1x1 tray) and very unsteady (the slightest movement could cause a spill) tables were packed in so tight you could barely move and the chairs are not comfortable. The place has a weird layout and is not what I was expecting. The whole place had a half-finished vibe. Beer was great. read more

Checked out Bare Bottle Brewery and really enjoyed it overall. The food was delicious, the beer selection was great, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere made it a solid spot to hang out and relax. The only small setback for me was the decor choice of displaying just one flag representing a particular group. If a space is going to highlight causes or identities, it would feel more inclusive to represent multiple groups or perspectives from what's going on in the world. That said, the quality of the food, beer, and service still makes this a place I'd recommend and visit again. read more

I have been to many, many breweries all over the state (see my reviews) and drank many beers from all over the country and Bare Bottle is my favorite. It was the "official" beer of our wedding. We love the SF brewery. So when we found out they were opening one in Walnut Creek, we were very excited. Finally got a chance to swing by yesterday and get some fresh ones. It's great to be able to know where you can get some Bare Bottle beer for sure and it's fresh (instead of the six months old Bare Bottles at Total Wine down the street). Monument Liquors was my place in the area to get them when they had them but now this exists. Really nice place but the location is awful. Terrible spot and terrible parking. I can see that being an issue on Saturday nights. But glad to have a Bare Bottle close. I know this particular location has been unlucky to previous businesses, I hope this one lasts. read more

Multiple experiences all the same- screaming unsupervised kids, food all over floor and tables. Kind & helpful staff, but cannot keep up with kid messes. Think Fudruckers but menu is beer focused versus burgers/fries. The right side of the location is dedicated to everyone and the left side is 21 and over only however it small with limited seating and has a limited menu for drinks. Wanted to like since my husband does love the beer and we frequent the San Francisco location. Perhaps consider setting some hours for adults only? @Michael, in response to your comment " We want to be welcoming to families." - I didn't realize that breweries were for families. (I'm a mom of 3 so I do understand that families need a place to go; 1 of my kids is still underage and I wouldn't consider taking him to a brewery.) read more

I really wanna give this place 3 stars for the roaming wild children & "unfinished" cafeteria-style vibe, but Tuesday trivia night is SO much fun & I am a huge supporter of local breweries, so if you like beer, I urge you to give this place a try. If you don't have (or really like) children, I suggest visiting after 8PM on a weekday, because it can get NUTSO in there. On my first visit (weekend around 6PM), I walked in and no'ped right out, it was so chaotic. 2nd attempt was a much better experience. On two separate visits, this place was absolutely overrun with 20+ unsupervised children in the evening. It is nearly impossible to have an enjoyable experience. I love when places are kid-friendly, but this place has created more of a "Chucky Cheese" vibe than a kid-friendly beer garden. Like kids climbing over the couches, running in between our group that was sitting together on the couches, knocking over drinks. Another major issue that management needs to address is that there isn't adequate clearance around the pool table. I watched a woman get jammed in the face by a kid using a pool cue at the pool table because the couch she was sitting on was ~1ft from the pool table. Very poor design. There is a main room with benches and couches and another large back room. I think if they just moved the arcade games (which attract the kids) to the back room, they could probably solve a lot of the headaches. read more

Barebottle Brewing in Walnut Creek is exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble on but rarely do. Tucked just off the beaten path, it feels like a neighborhood secret you almost don't want to share--except it's too good not to. I met the manager, Max, while she was outside taking down Christmas lights, and within 30 seconds I felt like I'd known her for years. Friendly, kind, welcoming--the kind of person who sets the tone for the whole place. If every brewery had a Max, the world would be a happier, better-lit place. The beer selection is excellent, with the usual Pilsners, IPAs, and stouts you'd expect from a serious brewery--but the standout is the Kölsch. I've been to Cologne, and I'm telling you: this is the best Kölsch I've had outside of Cologne. Crisp, balanced, and dangerously drinkable. A couple bonuses that make this place special: Bring your dog - the outdoor patio is perfect for four-legged drinking buddies. Order pizza from next door - brewery beer + hot pizza delivered right to your table = yes please. Relaxed atmosphere - no rush, no pretense, just a comfy place to enjoy really good beer. Love the beer. We hung outside because we have three 9 year old boys. The adults without kids outside were very rude to our kids unfortunately. It's definitely a dog friendly place, the patio had about 10 dogs (I think there was actually a dog birthday party happening). Which is fine as long as the dogs are calm. We saw one dog bite another dog as we got there and the family bounced quick. We had a great time and the beer is wonderful, I know they are newly opened so they are working out the kinks. No fault of their own about the the rude adults that could be in the 21 and up only section rather than being mad at our kids for being kids. Could use a TV on the patio with a couple of heaters. Food is good (it did take a long time for the food to come) and workers are great. Parking is tough. I would recommend barebottle for the beer, most likely wouldn't come back with my kids. read more

Very good beer, good food but minimal service. Sure, they take your order and pour your beer and then hand you a pager so that you can come back and pickup your food. I usually tip for service, I don't tip at fast food restaurants because all that they do is take your order and give you your drinks, then when your order is ready hand you your food: the same level of service here. read more
