Cameron al ajillo and Quesabirria Beef

Met up with friend at this place. Able to be at outside pretty quickly. Ordered chips with salsa and guacamole, then 2 tacos. Food was overall good, enjoyed the quesabirrias the best. Service could be a bit better. The servers were knowledgable of the food items and provided good recommendations.

Yummy Guacamole, Chips and salsa

We've been coming to this place for a while, and it has been great every single time. Walnut Creek is known for its high prices, but this place provides a great combo of price, quality, and service. It's definitely a great value. Their guacamole, chips, and salsa are incredible. We always order tacos, and they are in the 6-to-7 dollar range. Honestly, we've tried every taco on the menu, and all of them were great. The short rib tacos, in particular, were amazing. The place is cool for an adult gathering but is also kid-friendly. The kids' quesadilla with rice and beans was reasonably priced at 8 dollars. The place offers a wide range of beers and has a great IPA selection. The Don Lito house tequila is 8 dollars and is of good quality. We will definitely be coming back for the vibe, quality, service, and deliciousness of their tacos.

Parking downtown can be a challenge but I parked a few blocks away in a free parking structure. I met up with a friend on a cold chilly night so we started with a tortilla chicken soup and it was a Tuesday evening so I ordered a few tacos. You get a happy hour pricing on taco Tuesday. I ordered fish tacos, beef and marinated pork. The tacos were small and not much fillings. The tacos were good but not excellent. I would go back to try the birria tacos.

One of the place I can't believe I haven't reviewed. We have been coming here for years. So I use to drink alot of beer but these days more tequila and red wine. That being said I usually will get a porter or stout here, why?, because they have them. So many place don't unless its the dead of winter. Today we had a shrimp taco, rock cod taco and the chicken Quesabirra. All great. The fish wasn't battered and fried so that was good. We have also had ceviche on the past and a variety of other dishes. The tequila selection has 6 of my favorites and not a single bottle of 818 in sight. There are a couple reds in the wine catagory I have had. So not a place we are found to specifically drive to but when in town looking for something familiar yet different we can pop in here

Decent taco spot -- Wish the tacos were served with raw onions vs sautéed onions. Carne asada tacos was the best. The pulpo taco was just ok and lacked flavor. By the time I got to the chicharon taco I was already full. Salsas were very good and definitely could've been served in a bowl rather than the small tin sauce cups. Service was good. Friendly waiter.

5 tacos is right on Main Street and the place seems clean. The service is friendly and fast. We went for lunch and got the 5 taco platter and guacamole. The guacamole was delicious and the chips were good. The tacos were just ok. The fish was fishy and smelly. The steak was a bit dry. The pork was the best of the bunch. The taco shells were weird and chewy. Overall, it's ok. I'm rounding up to 4 stars because of the good service.

My boyfriend and I decided to try a new spot and came across 5 Tacos and Beers. Overall, it was a good experience. Service was good. We came at a time when it wasn't busy, so we were seated right away and everything moved pretty smoothly. We started with the esquites, which were really good. I just wish they had added a little more mayo, but the flavor was still great. For tacos, I ordered three: asada, tinga, and al pastor. All three were tasty and satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the ceviche (I forgot to take a photo of those). For drinks, I had a Paloma, which I really enjoyed. My boyfriend tried a beer and an Old Fashioned. I can't speak for his drinks, but everything I ordered was good and I'd definitely come back to try more.

Taco De Pescado & Sangria Roja

I joined my friends for dinner at 5 Tacos and Beers, a lively, casual modern Mexican restaurant. The place was packed, but we managed to grab a table outside. I ordered the Taco de Pescado--rock code marinated and breaded, topped with salsa cruda pico, with a side of black beans and a refreshing Sangria Roja made with house red wine, berry syrup, vodka, peach liqueur, lime and fresh fruit. The taco was delicious, and next time, I want to try the grilled shrimp and grilled octopus tacos.

This place has excellent tacos and margaritas. The taco menu changes with the seasons. Their drinks are made with fresh seasonal ingredients and the waitstaff is friendly and pretty attentive. Great place for a bite before a movie.

5 Tacos was our second stop during our downtown Walnut Creek taco crawl this weekend. Food wise, we found the tortillas to be handmade with exactly the consistency and taste you would want in a great taco. The balance of each bite was absolutely perfect for both the El Pastor and the Carne Asada tacos and the chips and guacamole were delicious, - although we did find the tomatoes and onion to be a tad heavy handed in the guacamole. The patio seating was comfortable and bright and the service was prompt and incredibly friendly. Of the three Mexican food spots we tried that day (Tacos, Bar Camino, and 5 Tacos) I would say 5 Tacos was overwhelmingly the clear winner. All in all, we loved our visit to 5 Tacos and would give it five stars across the board. We will absolutely be returning!

Our photo does not due justice to the taste of the food, the elite staff, who provided the best service I've had in 3 years anywhere, and the entire restaurant inside and out is just stunning! The music was incredible, the light beautiful inside of the restaurant is welcoming, inviting, and intriguing. It was our first time in for bestie dinner, and this is now a top 5 spot for us! We also had 2 orders of table quac, chicken enchiladas, 2 orders of birria/pollo/shrimp tacos! One of our friends had a 3 taco plate with pork and it was stunning! This place was amazing and I cannot wait to come back!

As I entered, I eyed Cholita Linda, and since we had already eaten at the place near us, I knew what we wanted and would enjoy for our late lunch or early dinner... a Cubano! For those who might not know, a traditional Cubano sandwich is made with Cuban bread (a white bread loaf with a thin, crispy crust and a soft, airy inside. Usually, a moist palmetto leaf is placed on top of the dough before baking to create its signature split), Mojo-marinated roasted pork (slow-roasted in a marinade made of sour orange juice, garlic, oregano, and cumin), glazed ham (sweet, deli-style sliced ham), Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and yellow mustard. Of course, here in the US, the recipe is adjusted based on the location and available ingredients, but the core stays the same, which makes for a delicious sandwich. Cholita Linda's Cubano is made with pulled pork shoulder, black forest ham, mustard, pickles, aioli, and Swiss cheese on grilled French bread. Trust me when I tell you that it is a delicious version! Anyway, this location is very well managed and maintained. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and nicely kept. They have tables inside and outside the mall. On a warm day, you might prefer to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while you eat.

I ate it, not thinking too much of it in the moment. It didn't take long onto the next day to be experiencing the runs in the bathroom consistently while at work. I had no symptoms of food poisoning four days prior to eating at the restaurant. I will not be coming back here again.

I'm not in this area often but was recently and was craving a burrito. I found Taqueria El Jardin…read moreon Yelp, of course, updated my maps, and made my way over. Located in a strip mall with a large grocery store and other establishments, parking was a bit tough around lunchtime but spaces were available. The second I walked in I could clearly see that this was a local hotspot, drawing in a crowd of area residents, locals, and professionals. Almost every table was occupied on a Friday around noon. The large cheese quesadilla was fantastic! It came in four huge, cheesy portions (served on a paper plate with foil) and was definitely among the best I've had in while. In addition to that, I ordered their carne asada and fish super burrito, super wet vegetarian burrito, side of chips and guac. The prices here are very reasonable! I asked the cashier whether to order the shrimp or the fish, and their recommendation to get the fish was a good call! The fish burrito was generously filled (see the cross-section photo!), and I especially appreciated the sour cream. Simply delicious! The carne asada burrito was equally excellent. The meat had a wonderful charred flavor. We loved the cheesy sauce on our wet burrito. I may have to get that next time with the fish burrito. Don't forget to order a side of guac, it was $6 for 8oz. The guac was fresh, chunky, and had an abundance of cilantro which we love. There's also a self-serve salsa bar with Salsa verde, mild, and medium salsas along with pickled vegetables, limes, etc. The cashier who took our order was friendly and incredibly welcoming. When I mentioned it was my first visit, she was genuinely appreciative of our business. I noticed there was no tipping option available on the electronic payment screen during my transaction. Fortunately, I had cash on hand and was able to leave a tip in the jar.

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. They checked on us periodically throughout the meal and everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall the restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and comfortable. There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.
