This is the second time that I've been here when I was in the area and this time I tried the Johnny Cash burger- beef patty (cooked medium to my liking), white cheddar, thick applewood bacon, pickled sweet peppers, and homemade bbq sauce, and fried onion crisps. This type of burger is my go-to and I wasn't disappointed. So good and I didn't even request most bbq sauce because it was flavorful enough and not dry (like others make it). My friend got the grilled fish tacos and enjoyed them. Looked delicious and he was satisfied. We were seated quickly at the bar to watch the playoffs and all the servers were checking on us pretty regularly. We were well taken care of. This was a tasty meal so why the 3 stars? We waited a bit to have our order taken, server was prompt with our drinks but then sat for like 10 mins before he came back, when he did we gave him our order, he then came back and said someone distracted him so he forgot it (why not write it down like the other servers) and recanted it with a few things we didn't ask for so we repeated the order again. Later he used the same line at the table next to us and to be honest no one distracted him or talked to him I know because I was trying to get his attention to ask for something after we got the food which someone else got instead. My husband and I wanted to grab an early dinner before heading home. We saw that Brodericks had a happy hour from M-F 2:30pm-5:30pm and decided to try them out. I had the duck burger, which seemed a little dry but still tasty. What was odd were our interactions with the wait staff. A gentleman was serving us ice water. When he got to my brother, my brother asked for room temperature water at which the gentleman proceeded to pour the ice water, and walked off and even appeared have even rolled his eyes from my point of view. Wow! I've been here a few times but I haven't been back in a long time, since before COVID I want to say but this past weekend deserves a yelp review. Their menu has upgraded quite a bit since last time I've been, they have breakfast on their menu now! They also have an outside patio to eat at, too which is perfect for the warmer weather we've been having. I went with my parents and our server Perla took down all of the modifications all 3 of us needed on our meals. She even offered suggestions of ways to modify and what to eat. Very patient. The best part? It was crazy busy when my parents and I got there but let me tell you, Perla went out of her way to check on us quite a few times in between her tables especially my mama since she had the most modifications in her meal. I came here for lunch with colleagues on a weekday. Parking in downtown Walnut Creek is hard, but I was lucky to find parking right in front since I got there before noon. The restaurant is located on the corner and only a block away from my favorite all-you-can-eat Brazilian Steak House, Galpao Gaucho. There are various options, from burgers, tacos, rice bowls, salads, and appetizers. I ended up going with a burger since it is what they are known for. I chose the duck burger since I love duck and never had it in a burger form. I grew up eating Chinese roasted duck and Peking duck, so I was curious. The burger comes with fries, so I upgraded to the buffalo bleu fries for $3 more. The duck burger comes as a grounded patty. The flavor of the duck is very minimal and not gamey tasting. It's the only burger that comes with a cheddar cheese skirt, which looks pretty cool or IG-worthy, I would say. My buffalo bleu fries were good, but came kind of soggy since it was tossed in buffalo sauce. The only complaint my colleagues and I had was that the burger was messy to eat. Their garlic fries are incredible, especially when they are hot. The sauce is still good afterwards, but is much better warm. An important indicator of an American style restaurant for myself is the quality and taste of their ranch, and they passed the good ranch test. As a vegetarian you would think this burger place means you're getting a meal of appetizers, but they do impossible patty swaps for all burgers, so you can get whatever you'd like! This is a great option for both the customer and the restaurant, as the one simple swap is much easier than a whole new dish, without limiting your customers to a certain part of the menu. They have great drinks here, one of the bigger drink menus in town. Sometimes too much is too much for drinks, and they have a wide range of interesting craft cocktails, while also having classic cocktails including a wonderful list of various mule flavors.
