Ah Gott's-- a California micro chain, brothers who bought a roadside diner and turned it into multiple locations in the Bay Area (always welcome fact checking). It's not somewhere you got your way to find, but if you're in Walnut Creek downtown area hanging out or shopping, it's a good option to swing by and eat to relax and/or catch up with friends. Ask for extras of the house ranch. It's great to pair with the burgers. California burger (17.99): only burger I've tried, it's solid but the meat is on the drier side and l expensive for what it is Vietnamese chicken (15.99): most popular salad, pretty good Citrus and avocado chop (15.99): refreshing and all the ingredients work well together. Taste wise I still think the Vietnamese chicken is better though. Garlic fries (4.99): they are good, but a bit greasy. They pair well with the house mustard. read more

I've always enjoyed Gott's at their other locations, so I had high expectations for the Walnut Creek location. The food was just as good as expected, but the overall experience was disappointing. We waited over 30 minutes for our order, even though it didn't seem especially busy and there didn't appear to be any sense of urgency from the staff. When our food was finally ready, no one brought it out or called it to our table, so it ended up sitting while we waited. On top of that, many of the tables were dirty, making it difficult to find a clean place to sit. The food quality is still great, but the slow service and lack of attention to the dining area made this visit much less enjoyable than the other Gott's locations I've been to. read more

Casual Spot with a Great Indoor-Outdoor Vibe! We had a beautiful day out in Walnut Creek today and decided to stop by Gott's Roadside for a casual bite. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish! The Vibe & Atmosphere The space is incredibly bright, open, and airy. Even though you're sitting indoors, the massive open structure makes it feel like you're sitting outside. It instantly gave me the breezy, expansive vibes of an outdoor concert pavilion or open-air amphitheater. It's the perfect casual setup with comfortable bench seating and a gorgeous, light-filled aesthetic. The Food & Drinks We didn't snap a photo of the food because we dove right in, but everything hit the spot: The Western Bacon Burger: Perfectly made, featuring a really nice, thick, crispy onion ring inside that stole the show. Garlic Fries: Flavorful, hot, and the perfect side. The Strawberry Lemonade & Rosé (⁠image_5.png⁠): I am not usually a big soda or sweet drink person outside of the house, but this strawberry lemonade was so good I willingly paid $3.50+ for a second one! Pro-Tip on the Drinks: They serve the drinks heavy on the ice. For me, that's a perfect catch-22 because it keeps it cold and dials down the total sugar intake. But if you're someone who wants every ounce of drink and doesn't mind the sugar, definitely ask for your ice on the side! Sweet Treats Note: The milkshakes looked incredibly thick and delicious (the peanut butter one caught my eye!). However, we passed on the cookies displayed at the counter. Visually, they looked like flattened-out dinosaur eggs--a bit dry on the outside (though they might be moist inside!). We decided to skip them based on appearance alone. Service & Cleanliness The ordering system here is great-you order at one window, they give you an old-school buzzer, and you pick up your food on the other side. Customer service at the counter was quick and efficient. I was also incredibly impressed by how diligent the staff was; they were constantly coming by to pick up trays and ensure absolutely no trash was left floating around. Googled to find restaurants near me where my wife and I was in Walnut Creek yesterday and came across this spot. Just by walking up to it, you knew the food was going ti be good because there were many ppl sitting outside and the line was out the door. They automatically have menus waiting for you by the door and the special of the day posts both with words and pics. This spot has everything: burgers, salads, wraps, chicken sandwiches and etc. They serve beer, wine and hard alcohol. They even have a frose. However, just know the process area a bit steep and you do not get any sides with anything. Everything is sold separately. This spot is hugh btw. Plenty of seating My wife and I both ordered the California burger. I took off the balsamic onions and added lettuce and tomatoes. We shared regular fries. I also ordered a special of the day which was street corn. My wife ordered a cobb salad and froze. I had a water with lemons. They gave us a buzzer item to alert when our food came. We opted to sit outside in the sun. Once out food was ready... my wife went inside to pickup, my wife had to return the fries because they were cold. Everything wise came hot and so good. The burger was so big and juicy lol. Everything we had was fresh. My wife was surprised with her salad presentation, the size and the lemon vinegeratte that it is served with. She bust it down. The restaurant is huge! There are a few outdoor tables on the side of the restaurant and a massive space indoors. When it's crowded, it can get noisy. Service was good. I didn't know quite what to expect from Gott's Roadside, but I certainly did not expect them to be so allergen friendly. I was able to order my hot dog with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun, as well as veggies with hummus and remove the bell pepper. The fries were extremely tasty and about a step up in my opinion, from In and Out, and the smoothie was quite tasty. I also loved how well everything was packaged. Overall I'd say it's not the highest quality out there (I'd like to see them move to a better of a hot dog vendor), but I really liked the ability to accommodate and customize for allergies, so I'll absolutely be coming back. read more

I've been to a few of Gott's Roadside location. Sentimental fav is the original Taylor's Refresher in St Helena. My most visited is the Napa one. Tried Larkspur and this was my first visit to the Walnut Creek one. The food was delicious and ready in an appropriate time. The counter was friendly and helpful while the other staff members kept the tables and grounds clean. It ought it was a bit loud but maybe I'm just getting more ornery LOL! I love this location of Gott's for several reasons, great parking, spacious interior, fun menu and most of all kid friendly. My kid loves the fries, the soft serve and large cookies. We chose this spot over others in the area for our 31st anniversary dinner because it had easy seating with no long wait -- and it turned out to be a great choice! I had the veggie burger while my husband and daughter enjoyed the chicken burger and fish tacos with garlic and cheese fries. Everything was fresh and flavorful, especially the garlic fries and margarita refresher. Service was friendly even during a busy dinner rush, and the cozy wooden tables with soft music made the ambiance feel warm and relaxing. Only downside was the cheese fries were a bit soggy. Fish tacos were light and well-balanced, nothing greasy or heavy about them. The Brussels sprouts were a nice surprise (crispy, slightly charred, addictive), and the garlic fries were generously seasoned, but some soggy bottoms. I thought Gotts was delicious. The patty on my burger was thick and good quality ground beef (I wish it would have had a bit more seasoning). The bun was nice. The shake was decently thick. Noah, at the register, was very pleasant and recommended adding PB to the cookies and cream shake - the Mister loved it. My aunt ordered a salad. The lettuce looked really fresh and the portion size was nice. There was a decent amount of seating available inside and outside. Its a family friend place so it was a bit loud. The food came out quickly. I like this place for group meetings so everyone can pay separately and there was more than adequate parking on a busy Saturday. I will definitely return. read more

FOOD we tried the gruyère and carmelized onion burger as well as the garlic and regular fries. the burger had decent flavor just felt like it was missing something! would've been nice to have some lettuce or produce to accompany the patty, cheese, and onions. the garlic fries were amazing and the regular fries had the perfect crunch! Gott's in Walnut Creek is bustling on Friday evenings! I met up with a few friends for dinner, and we eagerly joined the line that stretched out the door. The line moved quickly, and the cashier even offered me a glass of ice water while I waited for my food. (Pro Tip: you can order your dessert ahead of time and get a voucher to pick it up later, or you can order dessert later at the pickup window.) There was still plenty of seating, so I sat at a booth while I waited for my order to be prepared. After about 15 minutes, my order was ready. I got the fried avocado tacos because they sounded intriguing, but I'll admit that I wasn't a fan. The blue corn tortillas were already soggy by the time I got back to my table, and they tore through as soon as I picked them up. There was way too much cabbage, and I ended up digging in with a fork and knife and leaving behind much of the soggy tortilla and cabbage. On a positive note, I enjoyed the fried avocado, which was both crispy and creamy - and it paired well with the chipotle mayo sauce. I think the taco was meant to resemble a fish taco, and I'll admit that it was a creative dish. I saved room for dessert and could not pass up the Strauss Creamery vanilla soft serve. To spruce things up, I ordered my soft serve with the butterscotch shell (similar to Magic Shell). The soft serve was simple yet decadent - and the line to order dessert was much shorter! read more

This place is large and can service a lot of customers. It's very clean. The staff was very friendly. There are tables inside as well as on the outside patio. However the food is extremely over priced for what we were presented with. We both tried the bacon cheese burger. It was a good burger. But for $19.99 you can get a better meal at In n Out for much cheaper. In fact you can get burger fries and a drink for less than just a burger at Gott's. It was busy and we were told at least a 20 minute wait. When the buzzer went off I went immediately to the pick up counter and back to our table. The burger was cold. So were the French fries. We haven't tried any other items in the menu but not sure if we intend on going back after this experience. We purchased 2 bacon cheese burger. 1 French fry, one regular sized soda(16 oz) 1 sparking water(12 oz glass bottle) and 1 cookie. It was $48 amd some change and $56 with tip. I love how casual this place it yet a little elevated. They have a lot of choices from salads to burgers to tacos. It's friendly for kids as well and they are very careful with food allergies. My son has an egg allergy and they made sure to check the ingredients of the buns so it was safe for my son. So while I was in line, I decided to order online for the family. However, because my family of 3 took a minute to order, by the time I was ready to pay, I was already at the register. So... I ordered in person. Lots of tables! Your group can sit inside or outside. Self-serve water, condiments, napkins, utensils. There is a wait because there are lots of people. But that's okay. My fries were soggy and only lukewarm like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour, despite this being middle of lunch. Yum! My fiance and I were looking for a good burger spot and stopped by this place. Their price is a bit high for a "fast food" style place but makes sense for the area. For starters, you have to order first then find a seat. It can be chaotic finding a seat/table for larger groups so I suggest telling one person in the party to order while others try and find a seat. We went on a Saturday around 1:30pm and it was packed. I got the chicken burger which was pretty good. It came with a pickled slaw, cucumbers, and a spicy sauce. I think it was Asian fusion style so it was right up my alley. The fries were also delicious and the chilli was good. I think our total came out to about $54 for two burgers and 2 fries, before tip. Overall, I think I'd be back if I was in the area but it isn't necessarily the best burger spot. I recommend trying this spot for a good American or fusion style burger/sandwich. read more

This place seems like one of those overpriced places to avoid but they have such nice open seating great for large groups when not too busy and outdoor seating on a nice day. For those that want to watch a game there's also bar seating. And, most importantly, fresh tasty foods. First time we came was during their 25th anniversary and they had monthly specials. We lucked out and had their amazing ::::fried green tomatoes:::: special. We came back a second time that month cause it was so good. They have some creative burgers to choose from but they're big so we usually just split one. So fresh n delicious. Coincidentally, they had burgers named after places I was just about to travel to so I've tried the Wisconsin and Texas ones so far! Their food pickup situation is kind of strange tho. Order at entry. If u get soft serve pick it up just to the left of where u ordered. For the rest of ur food, go to the deep end of the restaurant and there's a counter. They also have their condiment bar over there w organic ketchup and their house hot sauce which is pretty tasty. Plenty of parking out back but it can get busy on weekends. The Falafel salad is the best thing that I've ever eaten at Gotts. I like it to much that I didn't mind that I forgot to ask for the salad dressing on the side and to remove the feta cheese. I'm so happy because last time, he overcooked burger was super disappointing especially for the overly priced items. The service at the counter is always friendly but the rest of our experience wasn't as smooth. The restaurant gets crazy crowded on the weekends and it's nearly impossible to find a table. It's pretty loud with lots of kids running around. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to come out. Our western bacon blue ring burger was good! We would swap out the cheese next time for cheddar. The garlic fries were way too oily and not garlicky enough. We both liked the crispy Brussels the most! read more

I've been here a couple times now and have never had a bad experience. So far Ive tried their Kimchi burger, gruyer and onion burger and the green chile cheeseburger. All were delicious in their own way but I think my favorite has been the green chile, not too spicy but still has some kick to it, especially paired with the gooey cheese. Came in for a quick beer at the bar. But sadly that is just not a thing at this establishment. 1. No bartender 2. The lovely fellow that came to help me had the keg blow out on him. 3. The same fellow was unabl to just pour a different beer (or even a half pint, since it was more expensive) because the place does not empower its employees to make the call on such a simple fix. 4. By this time (the manager has now arrived and determined there is not another keg anyway) I have no time to enjoy a quick beer, certainly not the time to suffer through a refund and recharge and actually have time to consume it. 5. The manager processes a refund and proceeds to tell me my funds will be returned in 48 hours!! What happened to customer service? It's bad enough that they charge $11 (PLUS TAX!) for a Pliny.
